#stopped caring about some things I was caring far too much about #it's another rainy dreary day which means I can wear cozy clothes and curl up with my brother's dog and coffee and a book #little guy and I are just chillin. he's tiny and shorthaired so he gets cold easily and likes to cuddle up #and seeing as I'm the only person home rn... doggo cuddle time it is!!! #I've been reading more lately!! I'm having trouble with tbosas so I got out a couple other things (sea of tranquility included) #that I've really enjoyed. I'm reading turtles all the way down right now and oh boy I forgot how nice a little contemporary #coming of age novel can be at times. also forgot that john green is a genuinely good writer. as in I personally enjoy his style. #let's see... my favorite sound guy for church is home from college for the summer which means THERES SOMEONE HERE #WHO ACTUALLY KNOWS HOW THE SOUND SYSTEM WORKS. me and the other sound guys have been barely #managing the last couple months bc there's been a ton of random technical glitches (the system is pretty old tbh) #so HALLELUJAH THE PERSON WHO ACTUALLY KNOWS WHAT TO DO IS BACK!!!! #I've been branching out into a bunch of things I wouldn't have thought to enjoy lately bc of the time I've been spending #with my sister in law. music and tv shows and even foods and stuff!!! #Gurt is coming to visit me in a week and a day!!!!!! Finally finished the book I’ve been trudging through for over a year!!!

#I do not dnf books especially since I was like over halfway through it #I had seen this book while working at the store in 2019 and thought it sounded interesting #got it for Christmas that year didn’t have time to get around to until last summer #I have a basic understanding of how music works and whatnot but this was just so dense and boring #the book could’ve been 100-200 (maybe even more) pages shorter if the interlude things weren’t included #I just felt like he rambled on so so much and like clearly the editors got tired because there are a handful of errors throughout out it #I think my favorite error is referring to ‘You Belong With Me’ as ‘You Belong To Me’ in the glossary #like he also mentioned Pandora a lot because he helped create stuff for it and it was like we get you think pandora is great #anyway going to do a poll to help me decide what to read next!

Well, my trips to four different stores did not net me a new snow shovel with the ideal handle that I like the best, but I decided that today didn't have to be a bad day and bought myself Engage.

It is actually so gorgeous, and very fun (despite my still being in the early tutorial hell bits), and I like the music direction so far.

I may post general thoughts/impressions, but any spoilers will be under read more cuts, and I still don't plan to start reblogging anything in earnest for a while.

#I made it a grand total of uh... #5 days before being too intrigued to not buy it #my understanding is there is only one path so I should be able to actually finish it within a month hopefully #and I've already made it past the FE-required parental death so that's like two or three chapters already finished #RIP my reading list I swear I will finish those books on my shelf before the end of the year maybe hopefully #as for the rest of the winter I've resigned myself to using one of the snow shovels w/ the handles I don't like #(aka all our other shovels) #but I'm still miffed my dad got rid of my favorite shovel like he did that to my last shovel as well #unfortunately the stores stop selling a wide array of shovels after fall for whatever reason #like there's already spring/summer stuff in most of the stores #very little winter gear #absolutely phenomenal honestly #but very in-character for the local retailers #anyhow I'm trying not to let the shovel thing get to me #lots of other good things happened today and the past couple of days so...yeah... #oracle of lore
