Oh my god, the r*gan fanfics! I'm sorry but Beedee, I HAVE to complain to someone about this. So like, I get that given the chance, they might likely be also aghast at lit fics or whatever but my god are theirs just on a whole different planet. I don't mean to demean the writing skills with this but mainly the themes. They are OBSESSED with Logan's world and life. So much so that frankly if anyone from Rory's life is against it and him (and obviously on the show Lorelai is not a big fan of him), in a lot of fics they MUST go through the "how you must love Logan Hamburger or you will die" 101 memo class, which obviously Lorelai goes through. The LBD often plays an abundant role, lots of OCs from the rich world, lots of Rory behaving like a Rich Girl and not even like, Rory in season 5 who is intrigued by Logan's lifestyle, just Rory acting like a would be Blair Waldorf 😭. MANY different fics from like back in the day when the show was still airing and even after it finished airing where Rory was raised as Rory Hayden? This is mainly an excuse to have Lorelai and Christopher be married so that Rory would be raised as a proper rich girl and she meets and gets to know Logan during high-school. And after the revival aired, they keep hamfisting these deliberate quotes/points in their fics where they try to disprove the parallel between Logan and Christopher that Amy set up. I think this one recent author even had Rory deliberately go all "because Logan has loved me for ME, not the way that other guys have loved me for someone else or who they expected me to be" which.....taking aside how obviously inserted that is, Rory never even considers this in the original show? I know that some lit fics don't make Logan look the best but r*gan fics have such a weird fixation with Jess, I will never understand. Like if he isn't the outright abusive boyfriend that Rory needs dashing Logan to save her from, he's the guy who narrates the fic as he watches Logan and Rory be all happy and in love and he's miserable? And the fans adore this, I don't even know why. Oh, and some author actually got Jess to be together with Odette for some reason. Lastly, in some fics Rory gets together with at least one of the LDB guys before getting with Logan but in one fic she's Mitchum's mistress before she and Logan meet 💀. I'm not making this up, this is an actual fic! It's still ongoing last I checked!

Reckless [With My Heart] (Chapter One)

Summary: This is Part Twelve of my series A Herrmann/Halstead Production. It is an AU where Christopher Herrmann's mom had an affair with Pat Halstead resulting in a baby. The series follows this OC character (Rebecca "Bex" Herrmann) as she grows up and gets to know her brothers and the various Chicago teams. It is very much an AU, just to underscore that. It doesn't follow the same timeline and characters will follow different paths.

Updates will be slow coming as I pick away at them during breaks from work. I couldn't take a full break from this though - I'm too excited to write it so I made working on this series my reward for when I get stuff done, lol

Chapter One

Bex

By the time Bex pried the news about Logan and Neil out of Mouse, it was a week after the fact and Jay had already thrown himself headfirst into an undercover assignment.

That was one way to get out of talking about your feelings.

Now it had been three weeks and she was worried sick about him, but there was literally nothing she could do until the OP was done and she could see him face to face.

Then she would hug him, feed him, and sit on him until he talked to her.

In the meantime, she had to be patient and wait.

Bex growled, scrubbing a hand over her face.

She freaking hated being patient.

A distraction. That’s what she needed.

She opened the curtains to let light flood the living room and sat at the drafting table she’d set up in the corner. If she had to wait, she could at least be productive and she had three freelance assignments calling her name.

Picking up her pencil, she started to draw.

Three hours later, she’d made good progress on the first piece and had ideas forming for the other two. She leaned back in her sit, stretching and twisting until she felt that good crack in her spine.

Bex hadn’t been able to put Jay out her mind entirely while she worked, but at least focusing on her art helped cut the worry down to a dull roar. Which was now starting to pick back up.

A knock sounded at the door.

She hurried over to open it (she knew it wouldn’t be Jay, not yet…but still) and found Emery standing on the other side.

“Hey, Bex,” she said, hands fidgeting at her sides. “Got a sec?”

“Yeah, come on in,” Bex stepped back to give her space to come through. “What’s up?” She took a careful visual inventory of her friend as Emery hung up her coat and toed off her boots. Her face was carefully made up, but even concealer couldn’t completely hide the dark shadows under her eyes. And her clothes were hanging off her frame.

Bex found herself wanting to give Emery a hug, some food, and sit on her until she talked too.

But she’d learned over the past few months that pushing for Emery to open up was the fastest way to get her to shut down.

She led Emery into the living room and they sat on the couch. Emery pulled her sweater tight around her and gave Bex a nervous smile.

“Um,” she began before shaking her head and starting again. “So, uh, I have a favour to ask.”

“Of course,” Bex nodded. “Em, you’re one of my best friends. You know I’d do anything for you.”

“Okay, good. That’s good.” Emery let out a sigh of relief and Bex was getting concerned about what had her so worked up.

“Em…are you in trouble?” She might not be able to get in touch with Jay at the moment, but she could reach out to anyone at 21 and they’d answer. Same with 51 and Med. Whatever was going on with Emery, she’d make sure she could get the help she needed.

“So, Ty’s cousin works at this bar,” Emery said.

“Okay,” Bex said slowly, confusion starting to outweigh the concern.

“And his boss is trying to rebrand the bar and help revitalize the neighbourhood so he’s trying to get some live acts in to play—”

“Em—”

“Ty owes his cousin some big favour,” Emery continued in a rush. “And he knows Ty is friends with a band—”

Bex thought that was a stretch.

“So, he told Ty that if he could get the band in to play, that he’d cancel the favour he owes him and I said I’d ask you,” Emery finished all in one breath. She reached out and grabbed Bex’s hand. “Please, Bex. Ty has been super stressed about this. Like he’s—you’d really be doing me the favour instead of him, okay? Please, Bex.”

She sincerely did not want to do any favours for Ty, but the look in Emery’s eyes was telling her that if she said no…all she’d be doing was punishing her friend.

Bex sighed. “Which bar?”

“Leon’s?” Emery listed the address which was in a very sketchy part of the city.

“Seriously?”

“They want to start attracting the college crowd or something? I don’t remember the whole story,” Emery shook her head.

“When would the show be?” Bex started flipping through her mental calendar.

“…Friday?”

“This Friday? As in, two days from now?” Bex stared incredulously at her friend.

“I’m so sorry, please say yes,” Emery clasped her hands in front of her.

“Okay, fine,” Bex caved. “I’ll talk to everyone.”

“Thank you!” Emery threw her arms around Bex and squeezed. “You have no idea how much this means to me.”

The problem was, Bex was getting a bad idea of how much it did.

At least this was giving her a fresh distraction from the Jay problem.

Friday morning…

Jay

When the undercover OP had come up, Jay had grabbed onto it like a life line.

He needed to bury himself in the work. He needed a mission to focus on; to silence his thoughts. Right now, all that mattered was infiltrating this group with his Ryan persona and finding what he needed to take them down.

Leon’s was a shitty bar in a shittier part of the city, but it was currently under new management. After an allegedly bloody takeover. Not that they had any proof of that. Yet.

The new owner, Vincent Marsconi, was paying people well for their silent loyalty. He was a long-standing player on the party drug scene with established pipelines running through every popular club in Chicago.

Taking over Leon’s was a strange move for him. One that had the CPD concerned enough to free up funds for this undercover OP.

So here he was, working as a bar back, trying to get further up the ladder and not murder the bar manager while he was at it.

The guy would not. Shut. Up.

“Chick from the band is coming back in today,” Cal said as they stacked glasses behind the bar. “The one my stupid ass cousin knows? She has a contract for us to sign,” he laughed. “Cute as fuck, I swear.”

“Don’t people normally sign contracts for gigs?” Jay asked him, not entirely sure how above bar they were running this place.

“For a proper venue?” Cal shrugged. “’Course. But for a shithole like this place? Why bother?”

“Why’s Vinnie so set on getting a band in, anyway?” Jay asked, keeping his focus on their task, keeping his fishing as casual as possible.

“Ryan, my man,” Cal said. “I’ve learned not to ask questions. Vinnie always has his eye on the big picture. Plans for the empire and all that. Better to roll with it.”

Plans for the empire? Expansions of the drug dealing? Or was Vinnie planning on moving into new territory…

“Personally, I think the live act thing is going to crash and burn, but I’m keeping that to myself,” Cal continued. “At least it’s just cover bands to start so they’re cheap. Vinnie’s pretty sure this chick will draw a crowd though.” Cal started laughing. “You should have seen him with her yesterday, man. You just missed it. Vinnie was hitting on her like fucking crazy and she tells him her brother is a cop.”

It took all of Jay’s training not to react to that beyond a semi-interested hum. “A cop?”

“Oh, she was lying for sure. Vinnie was making her mad uncomfortable, but even if it’s true, he didn’t give a shit. Said the guy wasn’t much of a brother or a cop if he was letting her play here.”

He raised his eyebrows at Cal.

“Yeah,” Cal snickered. “She didn’t like that. Told him she charges an extra ten percent for assholes and Vinnie told her to make it twenty.” He shook his head. “She better watch herself. He likes them feisty, but they never stay that way for long.”

Cal looked up at the clock on the wall. “She should be here any minute.” He pointed a finger at Jay. “No hitting on her. Unfortunately for her, Vinnie called dibs.”

“What’s this chick’s name?” Jay asked just as the door opened and he made eye contact with the new arrival.

“Hey, Bex!” Cal called out.

Oh, shit.

She greeted Cal and then caught sight of the man behind him.

Al, Antonio, and Mouse sat in the van parked down the street, watching the live feed from the bar. As the scene inside unfolded on the screen, all three of them leaned forward.

“Oh, shit.”

Thoughts While Watching Gilmore Girls: Season 1/Episode 15 ("Christopher Returns")

What happens in this episode: Another meeting of two clowns, but this time it's Christopher and Dean. Christopher is a deadbeat sperm donor. Christopher donates his sperm again on Emily & Richard's balcony. Grab a mop. Christopher and Dean interacting. What combination of buttclowns creates a bigger clown vortex when they appear together, Dean and Tristan or Dean and Christopher? Or Christopher and Logan (did that ever happen? I'm pretty sure it did?) Absolutely impossible to decide. I pick on Lorelai and Rory. But I don't hate Lorelai or Rory. They're flawed but good people. I will say no such thing about Dean, Christopher, Logan, or Liz.

Good, I see Crusty's getting the itchy knitted guest blanket that every 90's Mom had in storage. That's what he deserves. Rory, her voice hopeful: Maybe we can get him (my father) to stay for a few weeks. He's never been to Stars Hollow before. That means something's different this time, right? Lorelai: By weighting him down with blankets? He'll come and go as he pleases. Just enjoy the time you've got with him. So jokey but also pretty fucking sad. Rory: What happened to Diane? I met her at Easter. You said she'd be the one. Christopher: Diane is ancient history. The one to be gone by Memorial Day. More sadness couched in jokeyness. Cue Max exiting Rory's life shortly as well. Did you know the guy who plays Christopher is also a total douchebag in real life? Knowing this makes his character even more revolting. What's more vomit inducing, Christopher calling Lorelai "Lor", Logan calling Rory "Ace" or Tristan calling Rory "Mary"? I'll give it to Dean, at least he never gave Rory a horrible pet name. Season 1: Dean: Talks Me: Shut the fuck up Christopher:Talks Me:Shut the fuck up Christopher and Dean talk to each other: SHUT UPPPP Interesting that Christopher wrecked his new Porsche (two hours after his parents gave it to him) with Lorelai on his 16th birthday. It is implied he was driving recklessly on purpose, by the way. Hmm, uhh, errr.. yu know what, I won't say any thing further. I'lll end up going off on a real fucking tangent. Lorelai: I've always left the door to Rory open for you and you've hardly ever used it. That's so SAD. I just want to take a moment to say how amazing this show is. The amount of drama is just perfect. It's light and breezy but still makes you feel something. It doesn't overwhelm me. I stuck with this show from beginning to end, even when it dipped in quality, while I gave up on watching shows like The OC, Dawson's Creek, etc halfway through because they just tried too hard. Bless Amy Sherman Palladino. Lorelai: "A single cell organism climbed out of the primordial ooze and that pretty much led to Dean." Couldn't have said it better myself, Lor.

Crusty Meets Crusty. Luke, Dean and Christopher interacting with each other and by means of a softball game feels sooo awkward. (Did you know that in real life, Scott Patterson was formerly a professional baseball player?) Luke is not exactly Dean's biggest cheerleader. How did they end up playing softball together? Is it because there are only 14 people living in Stars Hollow? Dean trash talking Luke is weird. Like, who do you think you are? I don't care that its Sportz. Go sit your clown ass down. Kirk is trash talking both of them from the bleachers. I'll allow it. Kirk is more of a jock than Dean is. I love Kirk.

G for "Garbage Person"? Once again pondering if Dean was supposed to be some sort of jock. Amy Sherman Palladino really can't decide. And no, this mf is not "multi faceted" by any means. He is a one dimensional clown. Assign him one interest and stick to it. It went from from "Dean likes to read" to "Dean likes sportz" to "Dean has a motorcycle" again. I'm so tired. No way this 16 year old mf has a motorcycle which he talks about like he rides it so confidently, and Jess doesn't. I'm suspicious of Dean when he's being too polite. Oh boy, we got some messy writing here. Hold onto your hats. 1) Lorelai stated Christopher calls once a week (highly debatable, but fine, no way to prove that) but then says "I haven't seen him last Christmas". Huh? She just said he's never been to Stars Hollow before. 2) Minutes ago she was talking about him/to him like she hadn't seen him in forever, and she didn't know anything about his life, but he also calls once a week, so what do they talk about on this weekly phone call? Does she just hand the phone to Rory to do all of the talking but then Rory tells her nothing? 3) Rory also reacted to his arrival in town like it had been ages since she'd seen him, so where did Lorelai go for Christmas? She went without Rory? She also said she spent last Easter with him. 4) "Last Christmas" was only a few episodes ago (although I suppose it wasn't technically a Christmas "Day" episode), when Richard was in the hospital, Luke came with her and made her the Santa burger. Rory was at the Gilmores and Lorelai was home serenading Dean at the window. Chrstopher was not present in either situation. Miss Patty is hitting on Rory's dad whom she just met because of couse she is.

Even better! Don't call him "DAD", Rory. Eesh. He definitely doesn't deserve that title. #SpermDonorClub #JimmyMarianoPresident&CEO Don't KISS her. God, he's really got a lot of nerve. A kiss for Luke for calling Dean a punk. Lorelai:"That's the guy who impregnanted me with Rory." Luke:"Well..he did a good job?" LMAO, that has to be one of the greatest things to ever come out of Luke's mouth.

Flip-phone-a-palooza! Why isn't Luke tossing him outside for using a cellphone? Ugh, not this highly uncomfortable scene of the four in-laws, Rory, Lorelai and Christopher. It's none other than Christine Rose, who played Angela Petrelli, Peter Petrelli's mother, on that incest-fest known as Heroes. As she started talking, I knew that was a voice I would recognize anywhere. Delightful. Richard's kicking some ass, cool. Then he starts acting like a dick. Is this the episode where Christopher boinks Lorelai? No, the other one. No, not THAT one. I mean, is this the first one where they boink? Rory was conceived on a balcony. Thanks for that update Crusty. (Remember that Rory was born in early October, so she was concieved in the dead of winter. That must have been one cold balcony-bang). Ah yup. They're boinking. Somehow that horrible, uncomfortable, awkward evening that led to Lorelai feeling utterly devastated and crying (an evning which Christopher merely calls "memorable" with a chuckle) ends up with them having sex. Alright. Rory: Where were you guys? Christopher & Lorelai: Nowhere. Where we were. Rory:Ah. She knows. Luke needed Lorelai to be at the diner for something, and whatever it was, I missed it. I have no idea what it was. She forgot to meet up with im and stood him up. Was it to help him redecorate? Oh, they're still painting. I thought they were done.

Whut.... Was the boinking THAT good? Lorelai Gilmore everyone, the queen of Recieving and (occasionally giving) Impulse Marriage Proposals.

I mean, he does come back, and leaves, and comes back, and gives Rory a half sister she almost never sees, and then marries her mother without consulting her or having her present, and errr, yeah. Anyway good luck with all of that Rory.

Ending on a pleasant note. The Good: Lorelai's pajamas. Christopher's credit card gets declined. Luke's awkward lines. Minimal Dean. Lorelai surprising Luke by painting the diner by herself. The Bad: Literally everything. The Nostalgic: Flip phones galore. The confusing: The entire Christopher/Lorelai/Rory timeline. A baby being concieved on an outdoor balcony in early January. Crusty's impulse marriage proposal in the middle of one of Lorelai's tangents the night after a regrettable lay.

No, but I'll try an make one right now! :D Subject to change, as I don't have all the story planned, but this is his "prototype" at the very least.

Names

Name: Uriel Theodore Doe/Walker Name Meaning: Uriel is the archangel of repentance. The name itself means "God is my light." Theodore means "Gift of god." Nickname(s): Baby (By his father.) Ted/Teddy (Also by Logan.) Kid (Keegan) Jr Squared & Jr^2 [Pronounced "Jay Arr Two"] (Rorke)

Physical Appearance

Hair Color: Black/Very dark brown. Hair Style/Texture: Short cut, doesn't go past his ears, though when he gets older he likes letting it grow out before cutting it short again. Fairly curly, 3A. Eye Color: Light brown, almost amber. Skin Tone: Fenty Beauty foundation shade #420, because I got no clue how to describe it otherwise. (I swear the number is a coincidence.) Height: Poor Uriel is actually short, especially compared to the guys he's hanging around most his life. 5'6 at his max. (While everyone else hangs around 6'.) Gender/Sex: AMAB, he/him pronouns. (For now. Who knows.) Predominant Trait: He gets teased for having RBF. He looks very serious all the time. Body Type: He insists he's not short, just compact. Well muscled compared to other kids, due to Logan constantly taking him out on hunting/camping trips. Due to Logan's love language being acts of service (cooking) he's also a little chunky. (Teddy bear shape.)

Uriel

What motivates him: Uriel always wants to know more and goes about life seeking knowledge. A large part of why he's so curious. Eventually, this knowledge-seeking habit leads him to find interest in his and his father's past. The details of which have always been foggy to him. Personality: Intensely curious, smart, and self aware. Stubborn when it's something he wants. Very soft at heart, likely to cry when scared rather than get angry. (Mostly because he's a child.) Thing(s) he loves the most: Papa, garlic bread, his DS and games. Dreams/Goals: Wants to be a professor some day, uncertain what he wants to teach. Also interested in writing. Wants to have two beautiful dogs, any large breed. (Malinois, Great Dane, German shep, husky, etc.) Religion: Strays a bit into christianity/catholicism. Doesn't pray but believes there's a higher power. Likes the saints. (His Papa gives him a Saint Christopher necklace. Patron saint of travellers.) Also begins wearing a rosary that belonged to his mother. (Used to be kept in a small box of keepsakes in Logan's office, alongside a weird patch with a strange looking "skull" on it.)

Logan Walker (Adopted father.) no siblings or relatives he knows of. Gabriel Rorke (Weird/Mysterious uncle/grandfather that Papa does not like.) Enemies: That Kick guy who scared him as a kid. Butterflies. Papa whenever he does something Uriel does not like. (Taking his DS when he doesn't do his schoolwork, for example.) Ms. Correia for giving him too much schoolwork.

Other Stuff

Birthday/Age: October 28th 2025. Age at the crux of the story will be around his early teens. Something like 13-16. (Story takes place around 2040. Still working on it, so this is one of the things liable to change.) Languages: Fluent in Spanish+Portuguese, ASL, knows a little bit of Russian. Favorite curse word: Shit. Hobbies: Likes to play games on his DS. Habits: Rubs the side of his index when he's thinking hard. (With his other fingers or on a surface like himself, a table. Has calluses on the side for that reason.) Strengths: Very good at sneaking around. Smarter than your average kid. Fears: Losing/being seperated from Logan. Heights. Powerful storms. Weaknesses: Sticks his cute little nose where he knows it doesn't belong. (Very curious.)

I’m working on a rewrite of the whole Ninjago show within my Royals AU. There is so far only one book out on Ao3. -Warriortheninja

Alternative Universes

ROYALS AU- This is the main AU on my blog. It’s where most of my original characters thrive in. This AU revolves around the same storyline but things are different. For one, Wu and Garmadon aren’t old looking men. They look young (like season 7 flashbacks) and are married to different people. Lloyd is a prince, he has other siblings, there are anthro characters (because they’re much better than drawing human ones and honestly a dynamic between humans and anthros getting along just makes he smile).

Last of Their Kind or LOTKAU: This is where Garmadon (and Mystake) are the last oni in all the Sixteen Realms. Wu is the last dragon in all of Ninjago. Garmadon has pups with his mate Burr (the last Formling in Ninjago) and that’s how Lloyd is around. Lloyd is the main man (or oni) of this AU. Since a young pup, Lloyd loves the idea of meeting humans and becoming friends with them. He gets his chance when the Gang (they don’t go by Ninja) come and camp in The Valley.

Nautica AU: This is an AU where it’s a crossover between Subnautica and Ninjago. Why? Because I was bored and thought it would be fun. This AU is where the Ninja and their young crash down onto a predominantly water world. Nya and Nyad exist as water goddesses in this AU. It’s supposed to be a sweet family thing. It revolves around Jay and Nya’s child, Ara.

Train Zone AU: This AU is basically where Wu and Garmadon accidentally screw things up on their journey and land into my world Craftia and are taken in by Warrior and her crew. It’s also a sweet family fluff thing.

Craftian Wind AU: An Aurawind AU where Morro left Wu and managed to get into Craftia. Gets attacked and unsavory things happen to him, Warrior and her group save Morro’s assaulters before they could kill him. They then take him in and get him to full health. Morro stays with Warrior in Craftia and a romance blossoms between them. It’s just fluff and angst. Mostly fluff though.

Day Sixteen: She Doesn't Like It In The Barn (Location: Farm/Ranch)

Samara Morgan was forced to stay in the barn's hayloft to keep her burning images out of her adoptive parents minds. Framer Graham Hess had to defend his home and family from aliens that threatened to kill his son. Pearl craved to be a movie star and experienced a psychotic break where she killed those who denied her her dream. What deadly passages does the farm bestow to your characters?
