Loved loved loved Mysterious Lotus Casebook, and that epilogue still haunts me. I feel very torn about it.
So here's a stupid fix-it that came to mind during one of my re-watches :P

Hold on, I just finished Mysterious Lotus Casebook and I'm obsessed.
Finally able to get out and be a human today so did a quick FDB sketch.
Why's he tied up?? IDK he's just a silly little guy. I'm sure everything will be alright. Right? 🤔 Stay tuned to find out.

As smart as you are, you should've already guessed. Fang Duobing isn't Shan Gudao's nephew — he's his son.

Thinking about how Li Lianhua's Yangzhouman is undefeated because of its burning, solid strength and steadiness. How it was formed in a place where he was looked after and nurtured, where he felt warmth and support. And how Di Feisheng's Windy Poplar is undefeated because it seeks survival in the worst of situations. How it was formed by a boy who escaped and clawed his way through the worst to freedom, who needed to be resilient more than anything else to make it, all alone. Thinking about how Di Feisheng only heals and improves in the end because of Yangzhouman's warmth and steady support. How Li Lianhua walks into the final battle with Windy Poplar's survival keeping Yangzhouman going despite being on its last legs.

The year is 2024 and a team of archeologists have excavated a strange grave in an old seaside village. The verdant green skeleton of a man who died in his 50s next to the bones of a dog. Alongside them are the bones of two men who passed well into their 90s. DNA testing shows that at least one of them was the ancestor of several prominent imperial families throughout the dynasties, and yet he was buried in this unmarked grave instead of with his family. None of them were related. All of them were buried decades apart.
