Hi! I hope ur having a good day/night :)
I was hoping I could request ningguang x artist reader who uses she/her pronouns, where ningguang finds reader drawing her! (And honestly I'm fine with or without an established relationship, whichever is easier for you to write) anyway ningguang is like super flattered but teases reader about it, and reader is too shy to say anything back so she just lets ningguang see all of her drawings of her so she'll (hopefully) be satisfied and stop the teasing
ty for the request! seeing the layout and how stuff is received intrigued me a lot just now... hope u have a great day as well ☺️
beauty is in the eye of the beholder
and that's what ningguang happened to think. seeing you perched up before slumping back onto your canvas made her giggle. despite your messy appearance, she seemed to think that you were quite the view.
"hm? and what do we have here?"
she peeked onto your project only to see a sketch of herself. she gazed at it longer before-
"ah! lady ningguang!"
a pity. you covered the drawing urgently.
"i was hoping to see more of this," she feigned sadness.
your face turned so red that ningguang would've thought someone painted it. you slowly uncovered the canvas, allowing your art into her view.
"my! i'm quite amazed at the accuracy of this! what medium of art were you going to use after this sketch?"
"oh... um... i'm not too sure yet..."
you look away, but ningguang turns your head towards her with a finger.
"now now. didn't anyone teach you to look at who you're speaking to?"
you shake your head furiously and close your eyes. this cannot be real right now. your hair messes up, shadowing over your eyes. you're about to make a run for it when-
"i apologize sweetheart. i didn't mean to make you so nervous."
she cups her hands around your face, moving your hair in the meanwhile. oh my god. you want to fucking explode, and ningguang seems to notice as her eyes glint mischievously.
"don't blow up, baby girl. we can't have your talent go to waste. now, how is it you draw me so accurately? i don't think i've seen you around too often."
"i just- um... so basically..."
you're vibrating like a dog put on top of a cat tower in your seat. oh my god oh my god. your eyes dart around everywhere besides the beauty in front of you. shit!
"hm? your sketchbook?"
you nod furiously, eyes shut. you start hearing pages turn and forcefully peek open one eye.
"ahem! well. this certainly is something," ningguang covered her face, visibly red.
"i'll be confiscating this for now, so try to make do without it. i will visit you during your process and watch your progress if i have time."
"ah! oh! of course, lady ningguang!"
you bowed, not wanting to look up, but ningguang disagreed.
"head up, sweetie. then, i'll be on my way. i hope to see you and the drawing soon."
ningguang turns her back, waving with your sketchbook in hand.
"fuck. i gotta do her beauty justice."
end.
so uh im ngl this did not turn out like how i thought it would 😞 but ty for reading

Fic writing asks: 17
17) What’s something you’ve learned about while doing research for a fic?
Hm. Ngl, it's relatively rare for me to do a lot of fic research. I'm much more likely to put something in a fic because I've read about it and have it on tap than to read about it because it's going to be in a fic.
Except ofc fandoms where you have to do research just to know what canon is and whether you're going to abide by it. Does that count? I know a lot of things about Batman because of fic research. I check equipment stats on the wiki when I include a specific object or class of object in a FFVII fic.
Mostly it's just, like, let's check the accuracy of this detail, or I'm interested in this subject now because I had to not get in too deep about it in that fic because I didn't know about it, but then later I can, because I looked it up.
One time as a teenager I put a white tern into a fic for poetic flavor when conveying that it was evening, and then before publishing the fic I googled their nest-building habits and it turned out they fucking don't.
They find a good spot where a tree divides and just. Balance the egg there. No nest. Notable for it.
Rather than choose a different bird I just edited that fun fact into the fic lmao. I will remember this fact about terns for my entire life due to my adolescent sense of rigor saving me from being very poetically and particularly Incorrect about a specific bird in public.
Not that anyone who read it was particularly likely to know better, but that just means I would have been promulgating false information.
I'm realizing I don't really separate what I've picked up as fic research from my nonfiction pleasure reading, most of the time. I've been reading on JSTOR about historical slavery in China lately because cdramas and cnovels use the subject for angst and drama, but tend to elide over any particulars they aren't using for the plot, and it's thousands of years of law and culture across a huge area, so there are no simple answers to be had. But that's not fic research it's just fic-related curiosity, iykwim?
Currently reading one about penal exile to servitude as publicly-owned, privately-allocated mostly-agricultural workers in Xinjiang under the Qing. It was one of the perks of being a military official in a recently conquered region, convict labor. Apparently they sent a lot of people convicted of Buddhist heresy to very specifically the desert parts of Xinjiang, because being a majority-Muslim region that China had at that time little interest in seriously colonizing, since it had limited agricultural value, Buddhist heresies would have a hard time spreading there.
Idek what illegal Buddhist opinions were, but I know that they got you sent to the region where China is currently persecuting the hell out of the Uyghurs.
But like this is not research for a fic; I am not going to set a mdzs fic in 18th century Xinjiang among the convict laborers. I would need to do so much more reading for that, and for what? To create an extremely realistic early-modern version of the Jin labor camp escape sequence in a Qing historical AU, with strange reverberations to an ongoing modern human rights crisis???
No. The work to reward ratio does not wash. Also yikes that is not my lane I would have to get it beyond reproach perfect to be comfortable sharing it.
I did have to very particularly research the layout of the White House for that Earth-3 fic where Talon!Dick breaks in and murders Grant Wilson, and then gets shot at by Adeline and chased out onto the Truman Balcony by President Slade with a sword.
I think I gave him a US Army cavalry saber because it was important that the President and First Lady charged out to fight the assassin attacking their kids in the Yellow Oval Room with the most American weapons possible. Adeline had an M-16 carbine.
I also learned fun facts about the history of the Truman Balcony, such as: President Truman economized on his household expenses to put aside enough to have the balcony installed without taking it out of his own actual pocket or having to ask Congress for a special renovation budget, and there was a huge hullabaloo and scandal about him doing this and the presumption and ruining the clean neoclassical lines of the building for all future generations of Americans and this was going to cost him reelection--and then they finished putting it in and it looked fine, actually, and the scandal collapsed.
I remember all this as a specific fic-research thing like 8 years later because I was researching the White House layout, the sightlines to the Truman Balcony (because Slade had to be correct in his assessment of how likely he was to get sniped), and military rifles all in a row and this seemed like a series of Google searches that might trip the hypothetical NSA bot monitoring my internet traffic and put a flag on me for maybe fantasizing about murdering the President.
It was still Obama back then so I wasn't in the slightest. Even though he is actually murdered later in that timeline.
Also speaking of President Obama, learned he said the Truman balcony was his family's favorite place in the White House, which is charming, because. That's just sitting out on the back porch. Like, it's on the White House and one story up, but it's just the porch sir.
Also the Yellow Oval Room has been redone a few times now but has had the same antique French furniture for decades now.

Gonna spam your inbox with these get ready :) for the fandom questions 30 & 43 and for the fic writer questions 17 & 24
sonny these questions are HARD
ask game || ask 1
30: what inspires you to write?
everything and nothing ngl ideas come to my head whenever the hell they want which sometimes is very rarely. but One thing i can say for sure inspired me in general was a little life by hanya yanagihara. yeah i will not shut up about this book. i feel like my writing style actually changed so much after reading it and sometimes i just go back to the book and read some random pages for inspiration because i love how hanya writes
43: is there anyone in your fandom who really inspires you?
not in particular actually... i do admire the creators in this fandom in general and i've read very very good works (yours included btw!!), but there's no one particular person that is inspiring in the sense that my work reflects something that i've taken away from theirs like i explained in the previous question. but there are moments where i read a fic or a comment and i feel a burst of motivation to write lol
17: if you could give your fledgling author self any advice, what would it be?
alas i am not one of those people who have been writing since young for some reason, even though i have historically enjoyed writing compositions and fiction assignments for school. i didn't even think i could write and a year ago i would NEVER have thought i could write a multi-chaptered fic. idk if it's because i got more time/motivation after i graduated from high school but that's only when i really started getting ideas and inspiration after reading or watching something. so advice for my younger self would be uhhh:
just Write. sometimes i'll think i don't have an idea or i won't be able to write a scene in the way i want, but once i actually start it just happens naturally!! like half the metaphors i come up with are just me saying shit i made up on the spot and sometimes it makes sense
write down anything you come up with even if it's just a word or a setting. i have certain phrases in my good omens fics that i pulled from random lines i wrote down like three years ago because i liked how they sounded. and other times i look back at my notes from a week ago and i have no idea what i meant by it but at least it's funny (once i just wrote "swivel chair" in my notes and to this day i don't remember why)
24: have you ever become an expert on something you previously knew nothing about, in order to better a scene or a story?
omg i'm so boring but not really LMAOO i think it's because when i come up with fic ideas that i actually want to write, it's mostly about exploring relationships and how relationships and a character's history affects them as people (it's the sociologist in me). so plot isn't really my thing—which is why i never thought i would be able to write multi-chaptered fics because i used to write short reflective pieces. even for transitional heart taxidermy, the plot i came up with was secondary to what i wanted to write about which was crowley and aziraphale's relationship lmao
at most i'll go back and really analyse the source material to make sure i get the facts right. like dialogue and scenes and layouts etc. for the bible fic i... read the bible lol to see diction and pacing and how the verses were formatted. and for blood in my eyes i joined the discord to find a layout of aziraphale's bookshop for Accuracy

Books I Read in 2024 #5: Katana-Ra (Jay Libby (based on an outline by Kosala Ubayasekara), W.R.K.S. Games (self-published), 2023)
(Spoilers below cut for the game systems and worldbuilding)
Got another one for you today, mostly because it was very short and I had to get this out of my head before I spent too long ruminating on cyberpunk. Spoilers below cut for the game systems and worldbuilding.
Tumblr media
Another weird one.
Katana-Ra is a difficult to place tabletop rpg system. It's only somewhat edited, spottily punctuated, and at times hilariously strange; there's probably a dozen times in this system where a Japanese loanword based entirely on the English term is used in place of said english term (the onmyoji spell Force Field uses the verbal component of the sacred word Fosufirudo, for one). It's artwork is entirely produced by Midjourney AI (though it does at least have the sense to cite that its artist did their work 'with the assistance of the Midjourney AI'), and its vibes are inscrutable.
The setting itself has some fascinating elements to it; the Katana-Ra island chain on Earth is the home city of the game, a stand-in for Japan that has been plagued by Oni since the third century (the timeline is firmly in the 3500s, having a full listing of period names ala the Japanese eras of history that are entirely), but despite that presence briefly expanding worldwide following the unnamed World War bombing of Nagoshima (it's stand in for Hiroshima, presumably; I'm aware Nagoshima Island exists but I don't know why that would change), the supernatural remains a carefully guarded secret. Eventually, mankind colonizes the stars and eventually Katana-Ra ends up at the front of the Common Federation of worlds.
It's...a lot. The layout of this book is bonkers; Chapter 1 is History, consisting of a table of the years, periods and key events of history, then the...calendar, the heirarchy of nobility from the president down to the primary clans of the Katana-Ra Keiretsu, at which point it launches directly into Chapter 2, Regions of Katana-Ra. It then gives you a run-down on each island, then just goes right into character generation. Theres maybe 30 pages before you start calculating your Kenkoro, your Kokoro and your Sukiru (skills).
The system itself is barely legible, and frankly baffling. To make a roll to do an action, you roll your 'action roll' 1d10+your sub-stat (you've got a main stat, then smaller stats like strength, agility and constitution) and a relevant skill, then a 1d10 'result roll' with no modifier. The table for non-combat results is that 1 is a Failure, 10 is a master, with gradations at 2 and 9 and then simple success at 3-8. True Failures reduce your skill by 1 (skills, while unranked on the character sheets and when you pick them, start at 2 and go from minimum 1 to 4), and masterful successes increase your skill by 1.
You may be able to see the problem here.
By default, you have a 10% chance to get worse at rolling on any simple skill roll that you're trained to do, which is *always* possible because the Results roll is unmodified. (There is a rule that seems like it's supposed to be their patch for this, 'Accuracy Over Skill', which places the skill roll on the Results die instead of the Action roll, but it is worded as only being intended for combat. That said, literally every roll in this book is phrased as being related to combat, and no rolls are described outside of combat anywhere in the text.)
This is also true in combat, when you roll damage it's on the results table and a failure does no damage and also decreases the Skill rolled. Conversely, a 10 automatically kills.
It's a little rocket-taggy, to say the least.
There's some gems in here; the idea of a story on the capital of a spacefaring empire isn't exactly new, but it's interesting in the face of the extremely staunch traditionalism that dominates a fifth of the island that rejects technology entirely despite, you know, all the crazy stuff they've got going on. The Oni stuff also is at least interesting, with oni infection passing through technology and nanotechnology which can be countered by Nexorcists, a Shinto sect that uses blessed nanites to exorcise technological yokai.
There's all the classics of sci-fi; androids who were supposedly hunted to death for being uncontrollable (who have actually set themselves up as internal infiltrators to the Keireitsu, to the point of having made themselves a Clan Of One Blood inside the clan organization that aggressively works to their own benefit first and the corporation second), lasers banned from the planet for being too dangerous (but you can get a laser katana if you're a cool enough samurai), an undercity of cursed individuals living among the oni and eking out a pitiful existence in the land of the dead (literally, where you go when you die and can't leave if you're foolish enough to eat its food or drink its water).
It's...uneven. It has big ideas, but no editing to speak of; sentences are worded in ways that make me think it never passed before one (the book certainly doesn't list one). It feels like a flight of fancy that it even exists, much less in the frankly well-printed copy I got from my Local Game Store (alongside a copy of the Roleplaying in Glorantha Runequest core book, which i'm looking forward to reading).
The company seems to have disappeared; both websites listed in the credits page are defunct, but a quick search shows that W.R.K.S. games also released a Katana-Ra CRPG game on Steam that's still available for purchase, and that search also shows another game in the Katana-Ra universe that is either a mobile game or long since defunct and gone from storefronts. After a bit of searching, it looks like the company closed as an entity in September 2023, 3 months after Katana-Ra hit on DTRPG and presumably had a full paper print run. Since then, it appears Kosala Ubesekawa is working as a solo developer via Patreon on a Katana-Ra city-builder titled Lords of Kensai.
It's pretty rare to run into a heartbreaker in the cyberpunk space, much less one that had as grand ambitions as this one seemed to, with full games developed under its name and released. I don't know what could have been done to give it a gentler path out of the hell that is self-publishing an RPG in the modern era without any publisher backing, but it truly does feel like a labor of love by a small team devoted to an idea that could have flourished with some more structure and care.

I don't know if you've already posted a link to where you read the Trash of the Count's Family (if you have I can't find it T_T) but could you? Your posts, artwork, and fics kinda got me curious. And I don't really know where to go or what to trust for accuracy for webnovels and the like.
P.S I love all your works! They're so amazing and I smile so much when I see something new from you!
!!! Omg stop you’re making my blush fr >\\\\< thank you~!
I read TCF on eatapplepies.com
So far, they’re caught up to the novel, and are currently in the process of posting the side stories ☺️
As for the manhwa, I sway between trashofthecountsfamily.net and asurascans.com
The first one has a countdown to when the chapters will be released which is why I always have it open in a tab, but I do find the layout of asurascans easier to read.
I absolutely highly recommend reading TCF!! It has settled itself firmly as my favorite book in all the reading I’ve ever done in my life. It’s definitely a big read, 770+ chapters just for part one, and part two is coming out this summer so that’s exciting ~ but, it’s SO worth it!!
it took me two months to binge read the first 760 chapters but I for sure would go back and do it again.

On the subject of Revolving Door's WW2 chapters (Ace / Low-Pressure Thunderstorm / Supercell) and historical accuracy
(And more specifically about my tag comments on my previous reblog.)
I've been on several military bases before, both currently in use and historic. I've frequently interacted with colonial British WW2-era cannons and bunkers just sitting on the beach/in the park in my teenhood. (Comes with the territory of being from one of the most militarised nations in the world per capita.)
Generally, I feel like that would allow me to make a good intuitive guess about what the layout/floorplan of a British barracks in Europe would look like.
Even then, because I had readers who had literally served in the army and/or studied warfare as a special interest, I spent a combined 2 years fretting about the research for the chapters listed in the title.
Now the context to this is that Revolving Door features an alternate history, in which World War 2 progresses along a rather different trajectory than in our world. Planning this out involved...inventing military operations and strategic manoeuvres, putting military groups where they decidedly were not, and entirely changing the shape of the Western Front towards the end of the war. And a lot of my worrying/research was on themes such as:
What would the floorplan of a barracks in Dunkirk look like?
Did Bletchley Park have a fire alarm?
Did the phrase "OK" exist in the English language at the time?
In what way can electric damage most efficiently put a Panzer III out of commission?
What model/sub-type of military aircraft would have flown the troop from England to Hungary?
What would the interior of a 1940s British commanding officer's home look like?
Which battles of World War 2 would it make sense for the British army to drop special ops troops into?
Will these very specific, targeted strategic manoeuvres really result in the war ending earlier?
Now, I think when I revisit the story, I feel a little more charitable about potentially fudging the facts. War is a complex, messy thing, and produces some of the most horrific and also the most extraordinary stories in human history. To try and derive a moral from the entire happening, or even a unifying thematic thread to it all, is to misunderstand war at its core.
And who's to say that my version of the above things couldn't happen, in an alternate history where a person who can volitionally generate and store electricity exists?
As long as I know what my story is about, and it's not flying directly in the face of crucial truths that would be disrespectful to change, then why can't I just make some shit up?
I've done some excessive things for the sake of accuracy, from going on Google Maps walks along the routes that my characters would take, to taking day-long museum trips, to theoretically booking air tickets, to literally visiting the cities that the stories are set in/inspired by (I've done this with four different locales in RD so far). I've made paper models of my characters' vessels, read academic papers, and interviewed specialists.
But I need to remind myself not everything is an academic document. It's my habit to fact-check everything, but at some point, the fact-checking blocks the creative process. I'm a writer, not an historian (not really).

Tarot Hour starts now!
The HWIC (Head Witch In Charge) is in!
I’ll be taking questions for that one hour period (I’ll announce when I’m done), but then I’ll answer them over the next day or two depending on how many I get. Last time it was amazing how many questions came in, but it was too much to try and answer them all in one night. I was drained by the end.
The Tools:
Tonight I’m only using one deck, because it feels best in my hands:
- Gilded Tarot (borderless)
The Layout:
1) It’s going to be a three card draw for Tarot
2) Submissions can absolutely be on anon BUT I will need your name (or your nickname), your date of birth, and a tidbit about yourself. Something unique. I need to somehow connect to you over this gigantic vortex that is the inter webz. And if you’re asking about someone–their name/nickname, and date of birth.
3) Ask me a question. Try to be open-ended. Questions can be:
 - What is something I need to keep in mind this week?
 - What is the best way for me to navigate this situation?
 - What areas of myself need a little work?
- What steps can I take to manifest what I want to happen? (it would help here    if you specified for me if this is career, love, etc.)
4) Follow up questions will really depend on the amount of questions I get overall. If you want to send a follow up question, or if you’re asking me a follow up to the last Tarot Hour, link it for me babes. Or give me enough of a run down on it.
5) I will tell you the deck I used, and I will take a picture of the cards I pulled and interpret them for you.
The Rules:
1) Submissions can be on anon, yes. If you’d like your answer deleted after you’ve read it, please sign it off with an emoji and message me again to tell me to delete it (I’ll only get around to it after the hour is up, but I promise I won’t leave it up there endlessly.) Alternatively, if you’re comfortable submitting questions off anon but want them answered privately, just write that in the message and your wish is my command :-)
2) You don’t get to choose the deck. Hell, even I don’t get to choose the deck.
3) For the love of god, let me interpret the cards for you. I will tell you what I pull so that you can look further into it if you want, but please remember that what you google may not match what I read. Cards tell a story and should not be read independently. What one card means depends on the cards around it.
4) This is hard to do over the internet with literally no talisman to you. Your readings may not be accurate.
5) No dO tHeY lOvE mE questions. I don’t judge you–but my cards will. Be more original. Ask for insight on this person’s connection to you. Ask for clarity on their relevance and role in your life. In general, if you’re asking the cards a yes or no question–it’s because you already know the answer. You know it damn well. And the cards know that.
6) If I get any rude messages about this ever, or any criticisms on the accuracy of the readings, I swear to god there is a whole ARMY of people on my side in the beyond who are just waiting for a ripe ass to haunt. Don’t be that person.
7) You can submit your questions in advance. Just be reasonable, please. Try and send them as close to the starting time as you can (ie: please not like, now?), but I know we live all over this beautiful world and that’s not feasible. That’s okay. But a full inbox of questions gives me anxiety and yes I still have a lot of asks about tiger and Bill I haven’t answered yet and yes it gives me mega anxiety. I will put up a post when we’re live.
8) if you want to blacklist the tag so your feed is not overloaded, all of them will be tagged with #Lei does tarot and #tarot

Research Research Research
It’s time to start researching a practice you want to delve into. But, you don’t know where to start. I find the problem usually starts at the base. Not know how to research to begin with. Here’s my personal guide to researching with paganism and witchcraft.
You want to start with one deity - if you’re going the paganism route - make things simple for yourself.  1. Look up the basic myths of the deity. This can be done with a simple mythology book from the local library or bookstore. Sometimes myths can be readily available online, however, no matter what source you use the authors are likely to rewrite some portion of them to make the book or article unique. The accuracy of said source will most likely never be 100% so to save yourself the grey hairs and don’t stress about getting there.  That being said, myths will vary region to region as well as cross time periods. There is most likely more than one version of your myth. And any new version myth written about the gods after the practice is considered ‘dead’ or ‘ancient’ by historians is  NOT ACCURATE from an academic standpoint and instead is just a work of fiction.
2. Look at the culture around that deity. Some deities like Hestia have a focus within more private aspects of life so they’re less likely to have many myths. This does not mean, however, that they were comparatively unimportant in the religion. It does mean that they were just more likely to be worshiped privately in which case you should look up family dynamics, layouts of homes that we know of, and other things that are similar to get an understanding of the spaces where private worship would occur.
And with all research no matter what you do you want to CHECK WHAT YOU READ. As well as READ CRITICALLY. Now, why would you do this if you’re reading academic articles that have already been peer reviewed for you? Well, sometimes the material can be outdated, depending on when it was written, or it could contain some facts that are then speculated upon (meaning they’re guess is up for debate).  Because of that its always good to check what you read, look for patterns across authors. And try to vary the authors you read.
Speaking of authors you should also be critical about who you read. For instance I had came across an article written by a sports coach with no educational or professional background about Lady Hestia. While the information was good the author was not. I kept the source because the information was correct. There is a time however, when you should throw out a work because of an authors background and that is if they are one of the following:
1. Any person working within a closed practice without the connections being obvious that they have permission or was taught within said practice.  2. Any person but someone of the closed practice’s culture teaching about said closed practice.  I have personal red flags with authors and publishers across witchcraft books but within the Hellenic community I suggest you look at @hellenic-reconstructionism‘s posts about who to avoid as well as dog whistles.  There is also one more thing you should keep in mind when reading any source... Does it conflate Wicca (religion) with Witchcraft (practice)?  If so is the author Wiccan or are they not? If they are not that is a red flag as they are not one in the same. If they are Wiccan then its not a red flag because its common within the community to use them as the same. All this said, if you can’t tell or can’t be bothered to look, I say just read critically. Once again these are my personal opinions! If you have things to add on we would love to hear them!
Keep an eye out for a follow-up post on how to vet resource! -Written by Rose -Edited by Sam

Bruce: he is a recluse with his own extensive library. He buys everything he wants to read, and keeps everything organised by use, accuracy, and historical value. He has a section in the manor library for completely debunked but still funny conspiracy theories. Sometimes he goes to the public library for special events or fundraisers. Jason bullied him into getting a new card while he was robin. It has remained unused.
Alfred: knows all the libraries in the state and has access to a few that no one else knows of. Prefers the super specialized university collections and occasionally spends time reading there, when his duties permit.
Dick: used to use the school library as a hangout spot but thats about it. He reads ebooks when he's feeling it but usually has better things to do. Sometimes listens to audiobooks while working out. Has not yet figured out that he can check them out from the library, though Babs has told him like six times.
Cass: HAS figured out about the audiobooks, though she tends to get them online so she can slow down the playback speed. The librarians had to help her set up her hoopla account when she first came to town but she was so excited they all left with a smile. Likes how calm most of the library patrons are and visits often.
Jason: library nerd. Has over twelve cards for extra check-outs, one for each fake ID plus one for the public library in every new city he visits. The librarians consider him a cryptid because he's so polite but everyone knows him by a different name and he always checks out the max number of books. Can speed read, which freaks out the other patrons. Has only had to pay for a bloodstained book once, and boy did the asshole who tried to get one over on him pay three times as much in turn.
Steph: mostly uses the university libraries, sometimes to go cry over exams until the tutors notice and help her. An expert at using the online catalogue, sometimes she checks out really weird titles just to see what they're like.
Tim: used to hang out at the public library all the time, he knows the layout by heart. Often the public library doesnt have what he needs but he is well versed in the interlibrary loan process. Library staff only has good things to say about the young WE CEO. So polite, so cute, though he occasionally has late fees.
Duke: keeps going to the library to ask the librarians what books they reccommend, and thus has read a wide range of things, though sometimes he gives up halfway through. Is absolutely appalled by everyone else's library habits except Alfred. Refuses to be seen with any of them.
Damian: preferred the manor library until he discovered graphic novels, now he's read everything the local library has in print and is working his way through the ebooks. He also likes drawing, animal, and history books, though he will throw a fit if someone directs him to the kid's section. Uses Bruce's card for extra check outs. The staff thinks he's amusing during slow days and a hassle when it's busy. Everyone within earshot when he's at the desk knows exactly who he is. Kid name drops himself like whoa and it took him a while to develop an indoor voice.
Winner for most cards: jason, followed by alfred.
Winner for most checkouts: again jason, followed by steph.
Winner for most fees: tim, followed by bruce (all books he checked out as a kid and didnt return, he just paid the library off)(do not think about what life event might have caused this to come to be).
Winner for most stern looks from the librarians: damian. hands down.

5 Ways How Technology Is Revolutionizing The Construction Industry
The construction industry is continuously and rapidly evolving, thanks to contemporary technology.
Previously, when technology was limited, managing a construction project was challenging for project managers. It was also time-consuming and unsafe, especially for workers, who would drill holes, dig the trenches with shovels, cut boards, and do all other dangerous labor by hand.
However, that all changed with the new and advanced construction technology. This improved technology shifted the whole perspective of the construction industry. It brought new tools and techniques like drones, robotics, mobile applications, 3D-printed buildings, and autonomous heavy equipment, currently used in most construction sites globally.
But this is just a glimpse of how this new technology has changed the construction industry. So, sit back and read this article to the conclusion, as it will explain further how this new technology has revolutionized the construction industry.
1. Increased Safety for Workers
Technology's brilliant impact on construction is unmistakably evident in enhanced worker safety. Once upon a time, the wellbeing of construction site workers was uncertain. Injury and even fatal accidents were potential risks as workers found themselves in risky areas such as towering structures and bridges.
However, today's construction technology has changed this narrative for the better. High-end construction companies like Costas Constructions, who have embraced this modern technology, can now guarantee their workers' improved safety. This is through using technological tools like drones and robotics to detect dangers like potential columns or concrete collapse from a distance. One does not need to be near a distance to detect any potential danger, as all that is accomplished with drones.
Also, other wearable tech tools like helmets are used to help keep track of how long a worker has stayed on site. Workers who have worked longer than the standard time can be instructed to rest or take a break. Rests and breaks are essential as they save one from causing errors that can lead to their injury.
2. Reduced Errors
Adopting technology in the construction industry has helped reduce errors caused by workers. Since humans are to error, workers are bound to make mistakes that can be costly. However, new technologies like 3D modeling, digital blueprints, and project management software are not. These tools are embedded with high precision and accuracy that humans can only long for.
This means, saving time and resources that might otherwise go into tackling human mistakes, and reworks. For instance, digital plans simplify things for project leaders, especially when sorting the layout of a project. They can be generated, reviewed, and adjusted quickly, while keeping things precise than humans.
Project management software promotes collaboration by coordinating and scheduling tasks between contractors, architects, and engineers. On the other hand, 3D modeling allows for the visualization of construction projects, enabling the teams responsible to spot any potential issues before they evolve into costly mistakes in the future.
3. Improved Speed and Productivity
A few years back, constructing a ten-story building could take several months or even years. This was because the only tool known to man was their hands, which were slow and tired faster. Other essential tools had barely come into existence. But technology transformed all this.
Technology introduced equipment like drones, 3D printers, and mobile applications that enhanced productivity and work rates in the construction industry. But how exactly? Mobile applications made it easier for all construction workers to stay in the loop as they could access, edit, and share essential project documents while on site.
Drones could be flown even in dangerous areas for human entry and inspect possible issues. They could take real-time pictures, which would then be made available to the engineers to evaluate and develop solutions for any issues.
4. Less Environmental Impact
As environmentalists like to put it, the environment plays a significant role in human life; thus, we should all join hands in preserving it. Preserving the environment is mainly done through promoting sustainability, and technology has achieved this in the construction industry.
Previously, materials like concrete and steel were used in the construction projects. These materials had a high environmental impact as they required more energy and resources to produce. But technology changed all this.
Technology brought eco-friendly alternatives like 3D printing, allowing construction companies to develop projects like bridges with lighter materials that needed reduced energy and resources. Technology also developed innovative ways of recycling materials like concrete, thus reducing the environmental impact of creating one from scratch.
5. Brought New, Better Materials and Methods
Technology has revamped the building industry in another exciting way: it brought advanced construction materials and techniques. The past building materials were fine, but they needed enhancement. Enhancing them involved figuring out how to recycle them in case of demolition, and technology made this possible.
New construction technology has developed ways to recycle and reuse materials such as concrete and rubber previously used in construction projects. These new recycled materials save construction companies money and help promote sustainable construction.
Additionally, technology has adopted heavy mechanization, such as loaders, trenchers, graders, and excavators, as part of the new construction techniques. These heavy machines operate faster and can safely reach places that are unsafe for humans. Thus, they help speed up the construction processes, boosting efficiency in the construction sector.
Conclusion
Some decades ago, the construction industry was weak. This was mainly because technology was neither advanced nor embraced. But as years passed, new construction technologies evolved, and more construction companies embraced it, and ever since, a lot has transformed.
Technology has shown how to advance and improve the construction industry, from increased worker safety to discovering new and better materials and methods. Thus, if your construction company considers investing a few thousand dollars in construction technology, be sure it will be worth every penny in the long run.

What Do You Need to Get Your Book Published?
If you want to be an established writer, then you definitely need to get your book out. The words are complete and you have a manuscript that you’re really excited about.
You know that your book has got potential, but what now? What do you need to get from a manuscript to a finished book that your intended buyers can read?
Here are the people that you need to hire if you want to turn your manuscript into an actual product.
Proofreaders
Even if you use Grammarly and have impeccable language skills, there will be some mistakes that you are going to make. You may also have some facts wrong, which can definitely hurt your product.
Many authors hire editors or proofreaders in order to provide comments and edit their work. These requested alterations can be about grammar, spelling, tone, or any other factor that can make your work much better to read and comprehend.
Aside from aesthetics, authors can also hire proofreaders to check on any facts that you have written about a specific topic. More often than not, these proofreaders are specialists in their own field such as mathematics, science, history, mechanical engineering, and others.
These people will help verify and correct you so that you can get your facts right, especially if accuracy is one of your main goals.
Illustrators
Book illustrators for hire add a little more design to your book. If you need drawings or a better layout for your book, then illustrators are the people to get.
Nobody wants to read a wall of text page after page after page. This holds true for children’s books as that is a sure way to not keep their attention. Children’s book illustrators for hire UK can definitely help you out with that.
Publishers
Publishers are who will turn your book into something tangible. They will print your book and bind it. In most cases, they will also have professional book cover designers so that they can come up with a look that is eye-catching for potential buyers when they see your book on the shelves.
Of course, you can do the self-publishing route. There are numerous book self publishing UK companies that you can find, especially online. Also, you can just publish your book as an ebook as it is definitely all the rage these days.
Marketing
You would also need to hire marketing people that can help advertise your book. Social media managers can help get the word out about your book. They can also purchase ads online so that you would be able to reach your target market.
Marketing people can be paid a fixed rate or by commission, or a combination of the two. The amount that you want to spend on marketing should be proportional to the revenue that you are going to get.
Alternatively, you can DIY it yourself as well as social media platforms can already provide you with all the tools necessary to market and self-promote. If you have the budget or if all this marketing stuff is all going over your head, then hiring marketers will be the best and most effective route.
Can I Hire Freelancers?
Yes! Freelancers are a cheap yet effective way to get things done. You can get proofreaders, illustrators, and marketers that can give you some very good results.
Just make sure that you are getting high-quality freelancers so that you would be able to get your money’s worth. Get those with enough experience in the industry and not just newbies that you will choose just to save a few bucks.
Some freelancers can even point you towards the right direction about apps and sites that can help you promote and self-publish. There are many sites where freelancers with varying rates can be found.
Get the right people and you will be well on your way to see your finished book in Amazon stores and bookshelves locally and even all over the world.
Get your website ranked by one of the leading SEO agencies in Delhi and receive a free PCC audit from PPC Consultants.
