(Genshin Sumeru quest spoilers about Dottore)

Cannot believe they didn’t use the Dottore segments concept more fully!! That is one of the coolest ideas I’ve encountered in this game, and all they used it for was to be in two places at once?? Absolutely no way they’re really destroyed now, right? I NEED TO MEET MORE OF THEM. I NEED TO WATCH THEM FIGHT WITH EACH OTHER.

“The eyes I have placed in the dimension of time”!! What a sick line! I can’t even tell if it makes sense I have so many questions!!!

IMAGINE preserving yourself from 5 years ago and being able to ask for that version’s opinion about something. That’s a disastrous idea and I love it so much!! And I have so many questions! Presumably the segments age and develop, or do they somehow preserve their state of consciousness? Do they get reset every day? That would be so interesting, how does that work? Do they all share memories? How does THAT work? They seem to be able to talk to each other at least, is that something they can turn on and off? Is he experiencing all perspectives at all times? How does THAT work? If they don’t all share a nebulous multiconsciousness, do they instead get to make all sides of a decision at once and live branching lives? What if Dottore Prime likes his life less than the one that one of his segments is living? Does he live in fear of this all the time or does he feel enough identification with the other segments that he doesn’t worry about it? This is similar to a multiverse concept but I have so many psychological questions about what it’s like to be (presumably) the only person experiencing life this way, and to be sharing the universe with your multiverse counterparts. At least some of them even have the same job! How does one deal with regret when you’re daily faced with a version of yourself actively living an alternative that turned out better? “It’s hard to get along with yourself” indeed.

And I loved the framing of this development as his commitment to experimentation; I love that he’s sufficiently (pathologically) committed to the scientific method to construct an observational/comparative testing mechanic for his own life. The raddest!!!! I want more of this!!!!!!!
