SOUTH SIAM 3 & 4 LIVEABORD
South Siam 3 runs twice weekly 3 day / 2 night trips to the Similan Islands, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai, Surin islands and Richelieu Rock. Divers can make a longer trip by starting on the right day (ask us for details - see more information and prices below). The South Siam boats are low budget options but are about the only option for a short 2 night trip that includes the amazing Richelieu Rock. 2 day / 1 night trips are possible starting most days with diving at the Similan Islands and Koh Bon. Overnight trips do not include Tachai or Richelieu Rock. Trips begin almost any day during the high season (late October - early May), but if you want a 3 day / 2 night trips including Richelieu then you must start on Wednesdays or Sundays (South Siam 3) or Saturday or Tuesday (South Siam 4). The South Siam 3 and South Siam 4 boats are built to almost the same design, sleeping 28 guests maximum. The boats can be crowded on some days as there may also be day trippers on board.
Koh Bon Island included (chance of Manta Ray)
with trips starting Tuesday and Saturday Similan Islands only starting Monday, Thursday and Friday

Neta: wow! Your place is big! You sure you want me to stay here, I'll get lost.
Ikkan: Don't be ridiculous, it's reasonable size. It's not a mansion or anything. It's a nice quiet place away from the city.
Neta: Nice and peaceful
Ikkan: The kitchen is fully stocked, vegetables, fruit, fish, I also have chicken.... just a little bit though it's hard to find.
Neta: ohhh fancy
Ikkan: I have four streaming service subscriptions and cable. I also have a Nintendo console I don't really use it that much.
Neta: sooounds fuuun.
Ikkan: Uhhhhh........what else? Oh I have a cleaning lady that comes every Monday and Thursday at 6:00 a.m. named Coral she's really nice. I always put you know 200 tip on the kitchen counter for her.
Neta: she hot?
Ikkan: Neta!
Neta: joking, joking babe. You know I play.
Ikkan: humph.......... I have a recording booth downstairs I don't really go to the studio anymore so if you don't see me I'm downstairs.
Neta: can I go down there?
Ikkan: If the red light is on no, if the green light is on yes. oh I also have a pet nudibranch her name is nibble she's-
Neta: YOU HAVE A NUDIBRANCH?? WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY THAT EARLIER? CAN I SEE HER? CAN I SEE HER?
Ikkan: she's on the couch....
Neta: ohhh she's soooo cute! Sweet little baby aww, I'm going to love you and kiss and take care of you! you have a new daddy now!..... She's chewing on my beard.
Ikkan: That's why her name is nibble.
Neta:hmmm, she's mine now. Oh hello who is this? Is this you in high school? You look so weird without your goatee.
Ikkan: yeah.... that's me, I think that was sophomore year.
Neta: what's that You're holding?
Ikkan: it's a bassoon I used to play it in school I was first chair .... I played clarinet and saxophone....... during senior year and...... I got my upright bass ....uhhh...ummm it's dumb, I'm sorry I stopped playing them anyway.
Neta: that's not dumb! that's really cool. Do you still have them?
Ikkan: I still have them I haven't picked them up in a while, I just use them to fill a room.

Neta: yes!
*Ikkan playing Molto Allegro in F minor*
Neta: wow.....
Ikkan: I messed up some notes sorry uh.... It wasn't that great.
Neta: ikkan that was amazing. Are you kidding me, why don't you ever play these instruments in your music?
Ikkan: No one wants to hear a bassoon at a punk concert.
Neta: You don't know that! Ikkan you're so talented and have so many amazing skills. Sometimes It feels like you don't want to share it with people. You have so much potential to branch out with your music, show a different side of you. I see so much passion and talent in you babe..... I just want everyone else to see it too.
Ikkan: hmmmmmmmm.......... do you want to see my books of sheets music?
Neta: hell yeah, I would be honored to see your sheet music. I know I say this is a lot but you're really impressive honey it's amazing what you can do.
Ikkan: thank you........you do say that a lot. You said that to a kid who blew tea into a cup with their mouth.
Neta: you just had to be there okay, they didn't even use their hands.
Ikkan: you sent me three videos of it in different angles.
Neta: you just had to be there in person It was really cool.

The Dendronotus iris is often called the Giant nudibranch, and for good reason. This nudibranch can grow to a whopping 30cm in length! It lives in muddy subtidal areas from northern Alaska to northern Mexico, at most 200m below the surface. Like many other nudibranchs, the Giant nudibranch has a very specific diet- it feeds solely on the tendrils of the tube-dwelling anemone (as seen in the picture). Funnily enough, the anemones sometimes pull the nudibranch into their tube when they try to hide, although no one seems to be harmed in the process.

@alegendaryocean liked for a starter! ---------------------------------------------------------- When Domino’s natural history museum had said it was closing its doors for a few weeks to remodel and repair, Weevil hadn’t thought that their attached greenhouse had been considered part of the process.   Stopping in on Thursdays and spending an hour in the butterfly garden was, at times, the only thing standing between him and the attractive proposition of dropping half of his classes in frustration.   With that option closed off to him, however, he’d been forced to improvise. The city aquarium was only a few blocks over and, while the vast majority of the patrons clustered around the main tanks filled with colorful shoals of fish, rippling mantas, and curious octopi, Weevil had isolated himself to a darker corner of the exhibits, watching spider crabs amble among the coral and mantis shrimp swivel their alien-like eyes as they took in colors humans couldn’t begin to perceive.   Not that they weren’t fascinating,  but....it really wasn’t the same.   Not even with the nudibranch tank across the corridor adding a splash of wild color to things. There was a certain friendliness about butterflies - careless, bumbling things that they were.  It was endearing the way they alighted on your shoulder for a quick rest, or gently brushed you in passing with their wingtips.   ....whereas everything in this place looked as if it would happily drown and eat him if given the chance.  Not exactly a mood elevator.  He reached out, resting a palm against the glass, and watching as a passing crab extended a claw in curiosity, trying to puzzle out how to get at his fingers through the barrier.

DOT hails Lonely Planet mention of 3 top PH dive sites
#PHnews: DOT hails Lonely Planet mention of 3 top PH dive sites
MANILA – The Department of Tourism (DOT) celebrates the mention of multiple Philippine dive sites in the Lonely Planet's article entitled "6 national parks around the world with surprisingly spectacular diving".
"This citation from the largest travel guide book publisher, Lonely Planet, is positive news, something to be proud of especially for the tourism stakeholders of Tubbataha, Palawan, and Cebu," said Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat in a press released issued Thursday.
Lonely Planet writer Angela Ballard said, "At the thousands of dive sites scattered throughout the Philippines, you'll be enchanted by the more than 1,200 macro and pelagic species that live in these waters".
"The incredible biodiversity of Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park in Palawan earned it the UNESCO World Heritage Site status," Ballard noted.
The Lonely Planet writer encouraged a visit to Palawan dive spots like Amos Rock, Washing Machine, and Black Rock to "experience 600 species of fish, 360 species of coral, 11 species of sharks and 13 species of dolphins and whales, along with manta rays, barracuda, nudibranchs, pipefish, and seahorses".
"This fortifies our status as one of the premier diving sites in the world, and very timely with the scheduled staging of the second edition of the Philippine Dive Expo (PHIDEX) 2020," Puyat said. (DOT PR)
