I’m sending this in two parts because it’s a little long

JJ and reader working really hard and saving money so that they can buy and renovate their house together. Turning the house they bought into a home. They make so many memories while learning how to do everything but learning together. You and him basically build the house from the ground up because you knocked down a lot of what was already there, you get to sit together on the grass of the front yard and pick out what wood you want for the floors and if you should get carpet or not. I can see JJ being so goofy the whole time while also trying to be a little macho like he’s trying to be like mr construction worker who doesn’t need any help. You have tons of videos of him dropping things or missing the nail when he’s hammering something or stepping on something and breaking it😭 When there’s scattered wood in the front yard because you’re fixing up the porch, he 100% trips on it and tries to act like it didn’t happen, but you saw it and even if you didn’t, you’d know because of the broken planks of wood that broke his fall😭

I can imagine the absolute relief and pride you both feel when you’re sitting on the floor eating in your empty house for the very first time, the Pogues are probably there and everyone is taking pictures and it’s such an emotional moment because “we did that!” THE FIRST KISS IN THE HOUSE OH MY GOD I COULD CRY!!!!! You’re both sweaty and covered in paint and the kiss is so tired but so passionate because this whole process has just made the two of you impossibly closer. If you were attached at the hip before, you must be sharing skin by now. For a while you have an air mattress on the floor of your room with a few blankets but once you get furniture everything feels so surreal. Everything is just so you and JJ coded and you wouldn’t want it any other way.

took a while to get out, but in a similar but opposite toned way to last week, here are my long, rambly, and barely coherent thoughts about episode 9 “The Crossing”

which are thankfully much more positive than last week 😋

where do I even begin y’all. the vibe of this episode really emphasized the end of episode 8 with its melancholy; we didn’t even get any dialogue for the first couple of minutes. all of them silently exiting the Marauder as just the four of them was painful to watch. and it didn’t take long to get into the sibling squabbles after that.

which, as I’ve mentioned before, was another great example of why I think this show does an excellent job selling TBB as siblings. the Clones in general have always been good sibling rep, but TBB does it the best imo. Wrecker and Tech’s bickering with Hunter and Omega pitifully trying to stop it was *chef’s kiss*. even Tech and Hunter hounding Omega about being careful with the ipsium was very “older sibling trying to be the parent”, especially with Omega’s mocking responses LOL. I mean, we even finally got a confirmation that they see each other as family! finally!! thank you Omega!! \o/

speaking of Omega! my girl has really learned how to express herself, as we saw with her rant in episode 8, and I’m glad she was letting her feelings out to the boys. yes, she was overly emotional, but it was understandable! she’s still a child, and it’s hard to process loss without getting emotional, trust me.

that being said, it’s still unfortunate that the boys aren’t the same way. Wrecker has been the only one who’s ever been comfortable showing his emotions and feelings, but even so, he clearly still struggles with it. I really hope we get to a point where the boys are able to open up more (although they admittingly have improved since the beginning thanks to Omega).

now for some specific moments I enjoyed or were just notable to me. 

firstly, Hunter’s spidey senses going off not once, not twice, but THREE times this episode. oh Lordy. if I didn’t know he had enhanced senses, I woulda thought he was freaking Force sensitive with how in tune he was with what was going on. him sensing that something had happened to Omega and Tech? hello?? is he really THAT sensitive, or was that his Dad™ senses going into overdrive LOL

next, I obviously have to talk about the Lion King stampede (thank you Kiners for the blatant spoilers ROFL). OMG I felt so bad for Wrecker, poor baby. him complaining about his back afterwards was a MOOD. and then the exchange with him and Tech, “why don’t YOU carry it?” “fine.” I laughed SO hard, peak sibling humor 😂👌🏻 Hunter holding onto the wire tho... Lord have mercy 🥵

and now circling back to Hunter again cause I’m not done talking about my man yet. can we just appreciate how well he was able to keep himself together in this episode with all the chaos? he could’ve easily joined in with the bickering or gotten frustrated, as we saw him do in “Entombed”. but no, he stayed calm the whole time, even when confronting Tech about his behavior. the only time he actually got frustrated was with Cid (rightfully so). I know that man is a boiling pot of emotions inside, but still he remains the calm and collected leader, keeping everyone on track and not escalating anything further. my man... I love him so much 😩💙

last specific thing I wanna mention cause OMG am I still mad about it. Cid. what. the. HECK. as someone who has loved this character since we first saw her, I’m with TBB (and the rest of the fandom!) on this one. she crossed a line. I gave her the benefit of the doubt with the riot racing, but this was TOO far. she’s gonna catch these hands fr 😤

ok! now I’ll talk about the more serious subjects again. I’ve got two things I wanna talk about because hoo boy, do they relate to me personally.

I wanna talk about the subject of loss and dealing with trauma. if you read my post from last week, you’ll know that I was absolutely devastated by the loss of Echo, regardless of it being temporary or not. it brought me down to one of the lowest points I’ve been at in YEARS. so yeah, having this episode showcase Omega (and the others) going through the exact same thing? yeah.

honestly? I needed that. I needed to have my own feelings validated as much as Omega did, and I got exactly that. Omega wasn’t just upset, she was angry and hurt and worried and didn’t know how to handle all of those emotions at once. it was way too real. that’s what trauma does to you; it gives you way too many emotions to process all at once, so it often comes out in unpleasant ways. I’ve learned to process my own feelings through years of therapy, but clearly it’s still something I struggle with. and I always will. that’s just how trauma works. and I think this subject was portrayed perfectly in this episode.

and now, the absolute cherry on top for this already perfect and beautiful episode... my boy Tech.

I’m not kidding when I say I’m getting emotional writing this cause umm... YEAH

so I’ve been labelling myself as neurodivergent for a few years now. I began to suspect I might have ADHD back in like, 2019 I think, and since then, I’ve also strongly suspected I might just be overall autistic. I haven’t gotten an official diagnosis yet but... I know I’m somewhere on the spectrum, I have to be. and this show has been one of the things that’s helped me realize that. I’ve been 100% behind the “Tech is autistic” train since the early days of the show. I also strongly believe the entire squad is neurodivergent in some way, even Echo and Omega. mostly because I can relate to them in many ways in terms of behavior. I’m not gonna get into a discussion about that here though, I’ll save it for another post✨

the bottom line though is that me being able to see myself in these characters has been one of the major reasons I love the show so much. so now having this canon confirmation about Tech has made me absolutely ecstatic.

after we were done with the episode, @jam-n-ham were talking (as we always do), and she had a hard time getting behind the idea of Tech basically being confirmed autistic. but as we talked about it, she realized that the whole issue between Omega and Tech mirrored a lot of issues she and I have had in the past. and the convo between the two of them by the water was extremely similar to convos she and I have had in the past. again, I myself am not officially diagnosed but... I’m just sayin’ 😬

so uhh, yeah. I’m obviously very happy about this, to the point where I can’t even be sad about them being currently stranded on that planet for who knows how long. the well-done portrayal of Omega’s grief coupled with canon neurodivergent Tech has uplifted me to the point where I literally can’t be sad anymore. this episode gave me hope, y’all. which is why I’m not worried about them. I know they’re all gonna be ok in the end. they have to be. they will be.

cause even when you’re grieving or dealing with mental illness... you still can have hope. it’s gonna be ok 💙💙💙

oh, and one more actual last final thing I wanna say. because of this episode, I’m no longer worried about getting an official diagnosis for my mental illness. in fact, I plan on talking to my therapist about it and seeing if I can schedule an appointment to get checked out. I’ve been debating about doing it for a couple years, and now I’ve finally got the courage to do it. so yeah. that’s a thing 😊

Hi bestie! It’s officially your birth month 🥳 (it’s super cool that you get the spooky month as your birth month, I’m incredibly jealous) and you did ask for people to talk about songs or just our fave idiots in love which I’m more than happy to oblige.

First on song recs (I haven’t gotten around to looking at the playlist yet, I’m so sorry. I promise I’ll give it a look but I’m actually typing this while on a break from crocheting an entire cardigan as a present for my friend’s birthday and it’s eating up all my free time. Plz send bandaids for my fingers 😵‍💫) but Like Real People Do by Hozier screams the cute dummies so well I’m my head. It’s just so dreamy and sweet and ugh I have to link one of my favorite songs to my kiddos. Also, This Side of Paradise by Coyote Theory is definitely something I hear and go “it’s tHEM” so yeah ☺️ (honorable mention to one of my most played songs of the year Simple Things by Ziggy Alberts but it’s not completely perfect. I just love it and I’m a sucker for cute love songs and thinking of ideas to do with my ships even if they exist only in a fic)

And I could talk about the big dumb idiots (I love them so much-) all day without pause. I think about them a lot ngl especially when I’d rather be reading on tumblr than doing other things. I genuinely get excited when I get notifications for your account. I’m fairly softhearted so they really fuel my serotonin with all the fluff. I actually started reading the series way before I got into anything in the Star Wars franchise (I legit just watched my first Star Wars movie a couple weeks ago. My nerd parents have been disappointed by me for the past 22 years oops-) because it was in my recommended on my main page and it looked promising so I gave it a shot. Day in the life of Dana a blog (sick in bed edition)

The comment here could be made “This is the exciting part of your life? How pathetic.” And well.. to counter this statement (that only my awful brain is saying to me) Is well I was sick in bed so YES! I could say absolutely nothing happened to me yesterday but I really don’t take interactions for granted. They are the little things that bring me joy even when I’m sick and they are memorable! So leave me alone brain I’m valid.👌🏻

So here are a few highlights the previous night/last night/ this morning. (These are In no particular order)

1: Erin asking me to explain this Noragami panel about father. Thus starts the “Oh how much I hate father tangent.” I once said that I hate Teru more than father and I “should” check myself on that cause Father is way worse. WAY WORSE. But I still hate Teru more. 😂 (Tbf Father is actually a REALLY GOOD antagonist. I would say one of the best ever. I despise him and what he did to Yukine but I can’t deny that. Like the man literally stole his sons son AND kissed his sons girlfriend WHAT IS THIS MANGA?!) 

Then that led me to explain the insanity which was some of these Noragami plot twists and it was a good time. Erin thank you for indulging me. 🤧

2: Speaking of Noragami- Then late at night there was Ami giving me my medicine Lol (Not suit Amane this time but her Norgami manga reactions) GOLD I SAY PURE GOLD. 👌🏻

I got to explain why we don’t trust Kasuma (never trust the Akane look a likes- IM KIDDING! - sort of 👀)

How once again Father is a son of bitch and I have given Ami permission to do with him as she see’s fit. (I said it so it’s ok 😌)

Also she got me to really appreciate some more of the parallels and art style choices of Adachitoka. Very cool shots in the chapter she was reading! 👌🏻 YOUR ALMOST THERE AMI 5 MORE CHAPTERS! Then you get to hysterically cry with me and Mac next month isn’t it great? 🙂

3: I FOUND THE MOST AMAZING TIKTOKER. Tbf I found her before but I didn’t really know how much she’s done. She’s a JJK content creator that summarizes all of the recent chapters. As someone… like me who has no intention of reading the manga she does all the work for me😌 and In the most entertaining way! Especially about the Yuta arc. (Which you all know is the only reason I want to know lol)

Some of her one liners omg- this is probably a new level of a dork for me to gush over a content creators one liners but you know what screw it! She’s super funny.

It doesn’t do it justice when I say it back but the way she talks I can’t explain it’s just highly entertaining! 2 of my favs cause I can't help myself: 

“Quick side note. Everyone who underestimates Yuta...in my opinion is… an idiot, because they always end up getting their ass beat-” So true so true👌🏻😂

“If a kid is shoving food down his throat do you tell them to stop? and Yuta’s like “yea... what do you tell children?” I wanna know when's the last time Yuta’s had a normal conversation with anybody? Need to know that immediately.” adafljgjalglgaag I have no idea about this ch but this Yuta’s life ok not having normal conversations with anyone and getting thrown into a school under Gojo’s bullshit not telling him and everyone wanting to murder him the first day cause of Rika and Gojo thinking its funny so yea. Just a day in the life for Yuta my poor boy!! 😂

Also love how I am not alone even MANGA readers are not explicitly told what the heck is going on with Yutas cursed technique and the amount of “Rika’s soul” that’s still with Yuta. I love in one of her videos she address that about people talking in her comment section about “A lot of you guys last week kept telling me that Yuta had made a copy of Rika and thats why Rika still exists, even though the text has literally never explicitly said that...” “Stop making stuff up. Stop it! *wags finger at the screen playfully*” 😂 Ah man, it’s just you had to be there ok? You had to be there! Also this gave me a lesson to not take so much at face value about what is said about Rika until I see it in print in spoilers I find because I don’t trust JJK fandom peeps word as law because most of them don’t even like Rika they want to make stuff up anyways lol. Anyway I just love her. I definitely pressed that follow button!

She’s like as cool as Sidney! (Side note: Sidney was at megacon and ah forget Justin (that’s a joke I love Justin Briner) I am so jealous cause man I would LOVE to meet Sidney. Though it would have been like finding a needle in a haystack cause Sidney was just going as a convention go-er making tiktoks like “If you see me come up and say Hi!” - I wish Sidney I wish you’re so cool 🤧🥺)

Anyway back on topic so this JJK TikToker she also loves TBHK! “I actually used to talk about the Toilet-Bound manga before... and then JJK became like my only personality trait-” “Anyways you are not immune to my Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun propaganda READ THE MANGA!” (I feel called out just by quoting this 👀😂) 

But to wrap up. I was really inspired by her genuine enthusiasm for just the stories. Got me thinking about how “damn what’s it like to be a Shounen fan? 🤔 Like an actual Shounen fan! Like imagine only waiting a week? Only a week most times. Like what does that do to your mindset?” Idk It’s just interesting to think about. But even waiting a month no matter what characters… I should really be more excited about just the stories again. I wanna try to be more like her.

Then I had a similar talk with Hana the other day about hyper-fixation on characters, ships and series. About how I’ve been able to to focus and hyper-fixate on 2 or sometimes 3 things at once and not just one which is definitely a new thing for me. But it kinda goes with what I’ll say later about how Ive also been analyzing falling in love with side characters and how that changes things a bit in your mind cause you are not surrounded by content.

This whole discovery just lead to new thought process’s and that’s why it’s a Highlight. (I had a cooler way to say this but it kinda got lost in my ramble but I think that’s good enough) Moving on.

4: I also saw the best fan art on twitter that had me literally going CRAZY! The rest of the night all I could think about (it took up one whole area of my brain) was Rika wearing wearing Yuta’s white uniform Jacket! *just pure screeching* SHES SO TINY (cause you know she's 11)! IT’S SO BIG ON HER!

And I now want to imagine her hands are like lost in the sleeves and she’s flapping them around and wraps herself in a hug. After she puts the collar up to her nose cause it smells like him. I want to imagine this 😭 my brain kinda short circuited after that.

5: Also on that note right after I saw that I had more thoughts to analyze more with Rapid (when I feel better and my brain actually works again) about how if it actually was the “same day she died” or if it was more then one day and REALLY analyze it with factoring in Japan summers and school year and Yuta’s birth date. Cause this is actually driving me crazy. I NEED more insight on this one. (This one is more just a reminder for myself)

6: Then speaking of analyzing- my genius self decided to go for a walk while I was sick and you hear me a bit out of breath and my coat rustling. But I recorded 3 podcasts just for myself lol. Just about “everything” the different manga I’m into and recommends, analyzing more jjk things, analyzing the idea of falling in love with side characters- cause this has been a process for me with Yuta and Rika ok?

And not an easy process at that. I don’t know how people do it! But you don’t chose what characters you fall in love with they chose you. I am on the complete opposite end of the spectrum here with this. Shoe is on the other foot its fascinating! 

7: Cat showed me some pics of the recent con that was really great! They had Yuta and Rika there even speckled in merch 🤧. That made me happy. ❤️

And last (I think its last... but definitely not least)

8: I also woke up this morning from not feeling well for 2 days and Lena made me this adorable little Yuta doodle while he’s holding tea out (it can also look like coffee ☕️ 👀) but I think Yuta would want me not be like him get rest and not look dehydrated so it is tea cause he’s totally the kinda character that would do that for you. Just make you tea when you feel icky. 🤧 My baby!

Really Lena you don’t know this yet (I will find the movie for you today with the captions) but he would! That’s exactly In character for him. He’s a really good boy. To everyone 🤧 and I love it so much that made me smile 😭❤️ waking up to that!

Anyway that’s my exciting 2 days .. I think it’s kinda all a blur now after I wrote this. So it’s a good thing I wrote it down when I did 😂
