“Jeez Mr. Hanazawa,” Arataka snickered, leaning closer to his phone as he aggressively tapped the screen. “Don’t tell me you’re scared of Jennifer the Jazz Monster.”

Hanazawa gritted his teeth as he kept his own whimpers locked down tight. He did not need to be so scared of a Roblox game. How could this idiotic fourteen year old be fine playing it and not him, a grown ass adult? Seriously, he should’ve built up a tolerance for this kind of cra—

“I’M DONE!” Hanazawa screeched, throwing his phone on the floor as his heart pounded in his chest. Jennifer the Jazz Monster was cackling in the back with some of the most awful jazz music that he had ever heard. “So done!”

Arataka doubled over laughing, tucking his phone close to his chest as the sound filled the room. “Maybe you’re not as powerful as I thought you were!” He said with a grin, tears budding in his brown eyes.

Hanazawa groaned loudly and leaned back against the couch, shoving the heel of his hands into his eyes. “I just don’t want to give myself a heart attack at such a young age, Arataka,” he said simply, trying to purge the image of Jennifer from his mind.

Arataka dropped his voice and cackled. “Baaabyyy—“

Teru launched forward and snatched the phone from Arataka’s hand as the boy shouted in protest. “I’m your elder!” Teru snapped as he yanked the phone from his grip and held it high in the air. “Respect me!”

Arataka tried to grab at the phone, laughing as Teru pushed against his face to keep him away. “I only respect my master!” He exclaimed before Teru gave him a gentle shove. The young actor threw himself away as if Teru had put real force behind it, clutching at his face and groaning in pain before he landed on the floor.

“You injured me!” He wailed, writhing in ‘agony.’ “Just wait till my master hears of this!”

Hanazawa smirked and looked down his nose at Arataka’s phone. “I’m sure Kageyama will side with whatever I tell him.”

Arataka snorted and sat up criss-cross applesauce. He leaned forward and rested his chin on Hanazawa’s knee, holding his hand out. “Can I have that back? I don’t want you looking through my texts.”

Hanazawa raised an eyebrow, his smile growing as he stared down at the boy’s suddenly unimpressed expression. “What are you hiding?”

“Nothing.”

“Are you texting a giiiirll—“

“Ew, no. It’s just my mom.”

“Embarrassing texts from your mom then?” Teru’s voice jumped into a falsetto. “‘Oh, Taka! How is my sweet baby boy—‘“

Arataka rolled his eyes as he snatched his phone from Teru’s grasp. “You think you’re funny.”

“I am funny,” Teru corrected as Arataka rolled away from him before standing up.

Have not! Let's take it from the top!

Hajime: a good little boy. Aw he's holding a rose how sweet! Better be careful not to spill on that white tux (actually it's kinda cream.... meh....). Love that he has a green shirt it rly is his colour. 10/10 because he's my boy. (Outfit is like ... 6/10)

Nagito: very stylish! Oh I love the little ponytail so cute. Your bowtie is a little crooked honey get someone to fix that. 9/10 for bowtie embarrassment

Gundham: ..... it's a step down from his usual look tbh LMAO like it's nice but he always dresses so extravagant it's kind of anticlimactic! Purple and red, bleh. 6/10

Souda: ok he looks like a mad scientist but I kinda love it. Aposematic baby, look at him wearing glasses too! Character development! Wearing sneakers to a fancy party tho. Aw hes a little punk I cant be mad at it 7/10 +1 point for wearing something I'd love to wear myself

Impostor: look at this magnificent fucker. Idk about the suit on it's own I'm not a fan of navy blue but that COAT. The confidence. 8/10

Teru: I get the feeling its supposed to invoke ice cream or frosting thoughts but it just looks like he was splashed by a car. Cute hat but not cute enough. 3/10

Nekomaru: Double breasted jacket kinda giving off the General vibes he had as a despair, love the open shirt, but that's really not his colour. 5/10

Fuyuhiko: my baby boy you look like a little fucking grandpa. Are those pants from when you were 5??? Why olive. 5/10 wait I just realized this is the perfect height chart right?? Oh my god hes so small hes literally underneath Nekomaru's breast bone

Akane: AMAZING SHOWSTOPPING ETC ETC take it home Akane you win. So classy look at her. 10/10 + another 10 i wanna draw her.

Chiaki: cute! Kinda giving 13-year-old school dance tho? Mmm not much to say but it's not bad 6/10

Sonia: very glam! Love the hair decor good motion in the flow of the dress details, kind of mermaidy. Maybe a little too extravagant for my tastes. 8/10

Hiyoko: ok kinda adorable. Sweet colour scheme and nice silhouette. 7/10

Mahiru: actually really good! I thought shed be wearing something more plain but she dressed REAL nice. The accessories look great. 9/10

Mikan: ... sweetie who made you wear this. Did you wear this yourself. OH I thought the hat was like a pig face... not as bad now but still.... 3/10

ibuki: there is a LOT going on but tbh props to sticking to her brand and colours. Bi rights! 5/10 +1 for authenticity

🚀 ; I'd like to think he's also a flip! But since I think he'd be a little bit on the little side, there may be a few Headcanons of him as a Regressor than a caregiver (only by 2-3)

👾 ; HC count , Little (12) , CG (9)

⚠️ ; slight angst (feeling the need to be mature and/or perfect for the sake of family and peers), Regressing due to stress and anxiety, exorcising (mentioning a few times) + some stuff may not be canon as I'm not too far into the manga myself. Such as his relationship with hanako-kun. (Which i headcanon them as friends just because)

🐈 ; he regresses quite often than not. Mainly due to his family pressuring him about his exorcist 'job' he does. Growing up quickly to pursue his families plan to be the top, and best exorcists known to man.

🐈 ; as the oldest he always was more the father figure of Kou, than a big brother to him. He doesn't mind really. But he still wishes he remembered more of his childhood outside of being the babysitter for his absent parents

🐈 ; his little age is 1-4. Sometimes he could be 6-8 if he's not too deep into his regression state.

🐈 ; when he's little he loves anything paranormal. And is absolutely obsessed with ghost busters. He will dress up into anything that would be themed "ghost hunter" worthy and go capture ghosts with his broom.

🐈 ; despite his differences with hanako when it comes to the big kid stuff, he quite enjoys his company when regressed. Heck, hanako will even play along if he felt like it

🐈 ; has no interest in having a caregiver. However a babysitter is probably something he'd budge on. It's not that he wouldn't want a CG, but he always says; "I just need to figure out my own problems first"

🐈 ; Kou is his babysitter/sibby/playmate! They trust eachother to death. So of course they both trust eachother with their Regression. (I headcanon kou as an age regressor—)

🐈 ; love the attention. He craves it, he wants it. Call him Prince and he'll be the happiest baby there is. Just praise him for literally anything, he'd end up being one clingy kiddo

🐈 ; has a cat onsie because he loves cats too much. He also probably watches bluey and Garfield outside of watching anything with ghosts in them

🐈 ; he is good at masking when he's regressed. After an incident in school when he overhears his popular friend's opinion on "childish" things he felt too embarrassed to openly regress. Being the class president and all. But call this man "bud" or "kid" OR even "prince" he'll softens up and feels less guilty about it

🐈 ; his favorite song to listen to when regressed is "Sweet dreams (sky like dreams)" by Ferdinand fka Left Boy And "Mama's boy" by Dominic Fike. Because he relates to them in some ways. Especially after he became the school president and school popular

🐈 ; owns too much agere gear for one person. But then again, there's no such thing as "too many"!

🐈 ; when he isn't an age regressor he's a 24/7 caregiver. And an amazing one at that. Despite him being power hungry to succeed at his job, he would do anything for his little one.

🐈 ; sometimes full of himself, but he's not doing it on purpose. He wants to be the best caregiver for you, and since he grew up to be, well, perfect. he wants to be a perfect caregiver as well

🐈 ; "mm.." "oh yeah? Go on.." "mhm?" Whenever you rant/ramble/talk about your interest to him

🐈 ; doesn't seem to realize he's a spoiler. (Daily shopping, getting you too many toys, getting you everything you ask for, etc). Though he doesn't seem to mind if asked

🐈 ; he's not a good comforter.. but that doesn't mean he doesn't try. He always listens to what you have to say, and tries to understand your feelings. If that doesn't work he usually turns on your favorite show/movie/etc in attempt to help you feel better

🐈 ; outside of being a total spoiler, he can also be a babier. He doesn't try to do it as much if you don't like the idea of his babying— but when he does he will do it in a more protective-over-your-physical-being way. (Ex; ,"hey! Watch their head!" Saying this while hanako and Nene toss books at one another for.. some reason

🐈 ; absolutely refuses to exorcist anything or anyone when his little is regressing. For obvious reasons, he doesn't want to get all serious when he's on the job and babysitting his little

🐈 ; doesn't understand gifts. Give him stuff like buttons, rocks, pile of dirt, a stick, anything random, he wouldn't get it. He'll accept them, but most of the time he doesn't understand it. Once when you gave him a stick (maybe for a game you were playin, or something) and he ended up just throwing it for you to catch it. He doesn't understand but.. he has spirit I guess

Now that I'm thinking about it, why doesn't any of the 7th Division recognize Teru? Shouldn't they be like "hey wasn't this the kid that kicked our asses like 3 years ago, and we should try kidnapping him again?" My headcanon sequence of events:

Claw's 7th Division is established in Seasoning City. There's lot of jostling for power among the Scars, so there's a high turnover rate and things are very disorganized (as if this ever stopped lol)

A Scar hears about this little psychic boy and orders their goons to take him in for brainwashing

Tiny baby 10 year old Hanazawa Teruki beats the shit out of the Claw goons.

Oh what a coincidence, this occurs around the same time as the Ritsu Incident… because narrative parallels that's why

(This experience with Claw later inspires Teru to become the Urabancho when some delinquents try to bully him during his first year in junior high and he bullies them back, because he wants underlings too damn it. Although it probably just accidentally happened like with Mob and Onigawara)

The Scar loses their standing due to this hilarious failure to obtain a tiny child, and either flees via branch transfer or more likely, dies from the infighting. Claw politics are vicious y'all. But what about the goons? They're probably all dead too.

Except for one. Someone who was smart enough to run away when things got out of hand. Someone who has been with Claw since the beginning, and didn't survive this long without some good instincts. Someone who now viscerally understands the difference between a Natural esper and anyone else. This guy:

It's motherfucking Gen-san everyone

Anyways back to the timeline:

7th Division moves on because they don't actually care about expanding, they only care about their own standing. All the 7th Division Scars we see in canon have no idea who Hanazawa Teruki is. However, they know enough to send actual espers to get any future kids, because the goons are incompetent

7th Division Arc happens, and everyone scatters. Most of the goons return to normal society, but some just showed up at another branch a few weeks later.

World Dom Arc begins

But wait! If the data from the 7th Division never got back to HQ, then how did Claw know who to go after during World Dom? There are two possibilities:

The boring, probably canon one: Shou, knowing that this information was going to his father regardless of him, snitches! However, he then made sure that anyone sent after the targets would be weak.

My more fun headcanon: I don't think Shou would snitch on Teru or Reigen without making sure that they would escape unharmed, and he only had plans for the Kageyama household. But if Shou didn't snitch, then who did? I vote this guy:

The flame guy that Teru sent into a wall!

Probably what happened was that Touichirou sent his most annoying upper echelon Claws to eliminate any potential esper threats in Seasoning City; aka whoever took down the 7th Division. These Claws took one look at Reigen's website, saw his Twitter mentions, and was like lol this guy's a fake. But as a reward for his useful information, Flame guy gets to set fire to Reigen's office. No one had the presence of mind to go after Reigen's apartment despite him being doxxed already.

And the Claw that went after Teru? Well, he's one to hold grudges, and he never forgot the little psychic boy that utterly humiliated him and got him chased out of the 7th Division.

🥺 Is there a certain type of moment or common interaction between your characters that never fails to put you in your feels? - (not... quite the answer to this question but i don't think my writing style applies here so i'll just pick specific examples i like xP) i love interpersonal tension so much, i love writing all brands of it, from active arguments to awkward conversations to everything inbetween :'D but if i had to pick favorite "sad conversation"s, i love the serizawa scene at the end of act 1 of tttaac, i remember, as i wrote that part, considering it a mini few-act-tragedy all on its own, the awkward hesitance with mob, the texts from tome, the bits where he's alone with reigen and ritsu... very very fun. i love writing characters who have history and a lot of weight to when they interact with eachother, and you can tell in tttaac xD (on that note: the garage scene in tttaac, the argument between dimple and mob, was one of the first scenes fig and i ever came up with for this fic, one we wanted to write from the very beginning. not only is dimple fig's favorite character and mob mine, but we both love their relationship so much, it's very important to us both (both in a 'well written and beautiful character dynamic in a piece of fiction' way and a 'show of our friendship too' way) and a biiig crux of this fic. we loved destroying eachother emotionally with tttaac but especially with everything about dimple and mob - i wrote the garage scene and then fig got back at me by adding the videos. sniffles sadly)

🤡 What’s a line, scene, or exchange you’ve written that made you laugh? - OH BOY. i love injecting little bits of silly into my mp100 fics in particular, because the show itself is very silly and it doesn't really feel like mp100 anymore if its not. in crowfic, sammi and i went back and forth figuring out increasingly sillier ways to describe teru's wig, and we also wanted banter between ritsu and mogami to feel appropriately lighthearted to show mogami wedging his fingers in. i also have to express. one of my favorite running gags in my and sammi's fics that i will never shut up about because i think it's entirely too funny. and i express it because i encourage everyone reading this to continue the bit: the baby episode the baby episode began as a joke in tttaac, a one-off line in the social media segment here (fun fact about this scene, the usernames are all pulled from usernames in various social media cutaways in canon):

this was, out of universe, inspired by the fact that, to get a feel for "how subreddits for big longrunning reality tv talk shows talk", i went on the dr phil subreddit and found the only posts on it recently were a bot crossposting videos from the dr phil youtube channel and one guy asking about, quote, "the infantilism episode"

and i cracked myself up at my own joke. i don't know why i was so tickled by the string of words "supernatural detective baby episode", but i was. tttaac is a very heavy and miserable fic so we find spots of humor wherever we can, and i was just... so amused by the mental image of someone reading this fic and thinking, "what the fuck is the baby episode of supernatural detective" but of course our in-universe commenter does not elaborate. they know about the baby episode. this is a long-running subreddit for a show they're all superfans of, everyone knows about the baby episode. but you, the reader, seeing only a glimpse into these people's lives, do not. the conversation moves on. the fic moves on. the times a change. you cannot ask u/YUJIHAIZINOO what they mean by "the baby episode".

i don't remember how this part came to be, but as time went on, the baby episode became an injoke with my friends, and when sammi and i wrote ch4 of crowfic (which was published before tttaac but written long after the baby episode bit), we (sammi, specifically, who wrote this part,) decided to continue the gag. a piece of our cinematic universe

now, this creates a world of implications. for starters, tttaac takes place in 2022-2023, and crowfic takes place in 2012. the baby episode has now been also described as "weird", existing in 2012, and, most importantly, potentially being lost media.

i don't know why this stupid gag has affected us so much but it has. and i beseech everyone reading this who writes mob psycho fanfiction: somehow, someway, please insert the supernatural detective baby episode into your text. please reference it in some manner no matter how small. i want the bit to go on. i need it to grow, like a wound. i want to eventually convince people reading mob psycho fanfiction that this is a canon event they just forgot about.

the rules to the supernatural detective baby episode go as follows: you cannot describe its contents in any way, shape, or form, you can only allude to its existence and optionally that it is, quote, "weird". it may or may not be lost media, as it's possible reigen is misremembering. it exists in 2012 and is likely even older than that.

Now go forth. Spread the Supernatural Detective baby episode wide and far.

Ticklish - TeruAoi

"You aren't even doing your homework."

"I still have to plan my attack against the supernatural I'm supposed to exorcist tonight! Homework can wait!"

Aoi struggled with understanding how such an individual like 'Teru Minamoto' could suffer from chuunibyou syndrome when he had such a perfect life.

"Don't smile at me like that.." Aoi uttered to him as she tried focusing on the homework in front of her.

The school's president gave up on trying to make her laugh and actually tried studying. Teru wasn't dumb, neither was Aoi, they just couldn't study with each other as it'd result in them just talking for hours and hours on end.

And that's exactly what was happening.

The purple haired maiden was trying to explain one math equation to the blond when she noticed the boy wasn't even paying attention.

"Hey.. If you want this to finish already, you have to cooperate with me."

"But I don't want to!!!" Teru whined.

"Akane-san, since when did you become so boring?"

She simply rolled her hyacinth eyes and tried to talk over the blue eyed guy as a way for him to get the hint and just shut up.

"Then you divide 6 over 18, senpai, what's 6 over 18?"

"Don't know, don't care. hmph!" he made the last grunt as loud as he can.

"Dude, even a baby knows this. Don't tell me you truly are one.."

Aoi lets out another sigh, probably her 48th sigh of the day, "I should be getting paid for teaching you this, but oh well. It's three, six over eighteen is thre-"

Before she could continue, Teru was already attacking her with moving fingers right under her armpits, tickling her as payback for trying to shut him out.

"H-Hey! Stop that!!" she says while trying to contain her laughter. The Minamoto's living room was suddenly filled with both of Kamome's beaty royalties laughter. The shorter girl's unrestricted sobs of joy almost felt like music to the president's ears. He took notice of her collapsing walls after years of friendship in this drop of persona and smiled softly at her, weakening lightly in his tickles for a second.

The purple haired maiden took this sign as a way to overpower him, she used all of her strength to flip him over so that she'd be on top of him. Not noticing the position they were suddenly in.

Lying on his back, while Aoi stayed on top of him, while her arms -with her bandaged hand- were resting on the older one's torso. It suddenly got awkward for her, but before she could move away, calloused hands were already wrapped around her waist

"H-Hey!! W-what are you d-doing?!" Aoi uttered as a blush spread heavenly, making her freckles come out even more then humanly possible. Anyone who could've looked at her right now would've confirmed that she looked like a strawberry. Teru simply laughed at the girl in front of him, he then moved his leg from behind Aoi causing her to fall on his chest. He finally had the kannagi where he wanted her; in his arms.

"How can you overthrow me, when I can easily do this?" the exorcist teasingly asked.

"Not fair. . ." Aoi whined playfully, slightly panting from the amount of air that'd been knocked out of her lungs. This made Teru just wanna kiss her, and so he did, he kissed her forehead. She suddenly covered her face, while he ruffled her hair, the elastics loosening her buns as they fell out.

Oh well, that night they didn't work a lot on their homework's, but it was in those moments that Teru finally saw why Akane was so obsessed with this girl. And somehow, he couldn't find it in his heart to complain about the way her dimples made his heart do a few burpees.

everytime you make a post dunking on kou… I feel like I get 20 years of life back… I don’t hate kou!! I like him!! I like every single weird funky character in this weird funky manga… but it’s so refreshing, so cathartic!!! to get a kou post that ISN’T “precious sunshine best boy who’s better than X male character uwu” (UUUUGH). in other words: THANK YOU!! being a kinda shitty love interest to Mitsuba with his milquetoast bullying… kou’s annoying battle shounen protagonist traits… should be called out more… bc the fandom’s obnoxious about him and I’m too petty these days to care lol

HAHA ah how funny, I mean, yeah. I'm also always just thirsty for an original take, even if it isn't one I agree with or feel super hard. I'm glad someone's amused by it.

With Mitsuba I'm like, "omg Mitsuba doesn't need this CAVEMAN RIGHT NOW, help".... Mitsuba responds best to Yashiro, who is peaceful & passive.... and despite everything, Tsukasa does coddle/baby Mitsuba, which is what he legitimately asks people to do ("Take care of me, PYON!").... He's really more of a 'pure goodboy' with Yashiro..... but that's boring and she's not into him, so eat it, Kou. She likes the bad boy tragic murderer. Why does he love to yell insults at Mitsuba. Why must we call the guy who had no friends and died alone girly and annoying. I know Mitsuba kinda sucks but I don't get it. Like, I have more predictions about Teru, Tiara, and Aoi. I just have no clue where thisssss dynamic crests at. Kou has been AT A SNAILS PACE gradually wrestling with the bogus belief system he so proudly touted in Picture Perfect (God am I waiting for him to regret saying all that he did there-- HE SLOWLY HAS BEEN)....but like, we must be 'saving' whatever his eventual epiphany about personhood and identity will be, for later........... probably whatever conclusion he's CRAWLING to, about Mitsuba's authenticity, is going to tie into whatever epiphany he and Yashiro have to reach about Tsukasa's identity & authenticity. Them both contesting with the little Tsukasa's contradictory existence, surely will fold into how they have to process if Tsukasa 'is' Tsukasa, and how they should regard Mitsuba.... so odd that in PP, in the very moments Kou is rejecting Mitsuba as 'the real Mitsuba', doubling down on declaring his fakeness, Yashiro is naturally folding 'Amane' and 'Hanako' into one person. the chad Yashiro!!!

*shakes my head, snapping out of a haze* where was I? Oh right....

YOU KNOW, I don't even hate Kou. There are characters in other media I actively could say I hate, but, baseline everyone's interesting in JSHK, and I don't feel I disagree with the entire world's function and shape. We need someone like him to embellish the story-- that is-- someone so fucking dense and slow at grasping the world's shapes. But I am naturally exhausted by Kou and watching him crawl his way up to speed is sometimes tedious. I would like to take him to task and see him knocked down a peg-- in manga and out-- and I mean-- of all characters, he can take it, he doesn't have many problems, lol. He feels like the perfect guy to be frustrated with. Guy's got a beautiful family who loves him emphatically, spends every Tanabata or w/e in bliss with brudder and sisser, he can deal with me pushing him into a gutter.

I feel you on just being a bit tired of hearing the same things over and over... I feel like ah, groupthink in general is a real modern fandom problem, actually. If I'm being honest.... it often is something where all sides are doing something like...... hmm... "I am a nasty gross person, and I love this nasty gross character who is nasty and gross!" and then the other side is like, "I'm a good and honorable person, and I love good and honorable characters." Haha. But it's all sortof equally reductive, isn't it? You'll have one side stanning Tsukasa and believing he's an irredeemable rapist... and another side stanning Kou and believing he's composed of pure virtue...... or something like that. Isn't it boring....? Soooo boring... I don't like any of it....

Neither winds up feeling very genuine, or very interested in the actual written narratives, or the fiber of the characters in a meaningful way. It all comes across kinda phony, don't it? Or put-on? For-show? Whether its to show off how Bad you be, or how Good you be. It's odd when everyone all converges on one perspective. Loving Kou, Mitsuba, Aoi, hating Hakubo, Tsukasa, whatever.... weird, right? I never knew it to be like this, when I was younger.... I felt like me and all my friends would walk into a manga, and come out of it all liking wildly different things. Sometimes it feels like, maybe people are more 'fans' of the 'fandom', than 'fans' of the media itself, you know? Spending more time in servers of 200 people all chatting, reblogging each other's posts, and... less time rereading the thing itself.

It's not all of fandom, at least. Frankly spanish-speaking fandom seems completely unchanged from how it used to be and seems much chiller, more individual and sentimental ... well, so is JP, KR, CH fandom haha, who are making the MMD/AMV/etc I adore. Lots of original concepts and fanwork to parooze on pixiv and bilibili, thank god. But walking into eng spaces for 1 second, I see a lot of Kou suddenly. And I'm like.... this lame ass? Why??? Because he occasionally says pure things and is sad he's not strong like his cop brother??? Because he swings a sword?? Because he punches Mitsuba?? lol. I do have a little more taking him to task to do about a few things, but I keep having to try again at rewording a post to sound more neutral, 'cuz I get too annoyed with him hahahaha. Maybe I'll give up soon and just let it be what it is. I WANT TO BE NEUTRAL *SHAKES FIST* IMPARTIAL...

I had never 'observed' any of the fandom at all, I read it blind. I kinda live in a bubble with my husband..... I didn't catch sight of much of it actually until the Sumire/Hakubo arc. It felt like out of the woodwork came 200 Kou stans, I was like, whaaaaat??? it felt soooo out of left field, unpredictable, bizarre!?!? Like a wild coincidence. Like I lifted up a log and there was a new sort of bug in the THOUSANDS congregating. Weird! I didn't expect everyone to sound like clones of one another.... so weird.... eerie.... freaky....
