I finally turned the Cursed Handspun into a thing! (I made a whole sweater with this, then realized I hated it, frogged it. Started another sweater, frogged it. Started a cardi and, you guessed it. 🐸 Then it sat in the stash for a few years. Was lange währt...)
Pattern is Outlandish Bodice by bron matheson, available for free! Unfortunately it comes in only a very limited size range. Fortunately, if you're like me and not doing the fitted version, it's a seamless modular knit and basically just rectangles, so it's very easily adjustable.
Mine closes with lacing because I was too lazy to sew in the 500 billion hooks and eyes the pattern calls for. I could have made it with a tiny bit more negative ease, but it's fine and overall I'm happy with it.
@oreganosuace I couldn’t include a vid in a reply to your ask so it’ll just be its own post lol.
colored pencils are prob the easiest medium to create a fuzzy look with, you can lightly layer fine lines to make soft looking hair/fur and you can use a blending pencil to create wispy lines. I’m not great at explaining things so I wanted to include a video to show what I’m talking about.
I also have a post here showing images of the step by step process of drawing one of my colored pencil illustrations, and more tips in general in my "art help" tag.
For the first time in ages I've actually populated the original art section of my shop! I found some older paintings and ink drawings while tidying up and thought they deserved a chance at adoption. :)
Next year I really want to make more traditional art! I'd like it to be a regular part of my day/week. Currently l pretty much only break out the paint for commissions but the less I paint the more intimidating it is to pick up the brush again! It's a bit of an ouroboros in that way. So I just gotta Do It!!
Anyway, these originals are for sale in my shop right now! More in 2024??
thought I was gonna be too depressed to leave the house today but I ended up in the park around the right time and had a safety pin and a book in my bag so I did, in fact, poke a hole in the end paper to see the eclipse, and the book happened to be, drumroll.... john berger ways of seeing
i have to get a new fucking laptop and it’s zuko’s fault he was sick of being bullied in taob and said ‘i don’t think you should be a writer in fact i ask that you never write again’ and immediately broke my fucking laptop screen
i'm getting to the point where i'm going to have to start shooting my thesis film and the idea of shooting in an office rental instead of in my apartment is growing more and more attractive by the day
