onewe + when they overhear you talking lovingly about them
Yonghoon ❧ He, of course, knows you love him or he wouldn’t be in a relationship with you. It’s not like he’s insecure about the relationship either, but he sometimes has his moments. He just craves reassurance. And you always give it to him. At the same time, though, he never expected this. You’re never shy to express your love for him in front of others or when you’re alone, but still he wouldn’t ever imagine he’ll get to hear you gushing over him to someone while he’s not even there. He’s biting back his smile but slowly, as you talk more and more and your voice keeps dropping lower like you’re afraid it’d ruin things if you talked about them too loud, slowly his smile melts and his eyes water. He doesn’t want to cry, but he's an emotional guy and how could he not? He gives it a couple minutes before he walks into the room you’re in and his mind is swirling with words he’d love to tell you but he can’t. He can’t. When you turn to look at him and immediately rush to him to check that he’s alright, Yonghoon can’t say anything but i love you before he’s pulling you close and kissing you. He repeats the three words so much between kisses, and it seems to be the only thing he’s able to say for hours afterwards, that you’re fully expecting him to say he’s either dying or killed someone. He uses the confession instead of a period at the end of his sentences. He clings to you. No words can describe what he’s feeling so he just keeps stating the facts - he loves you.
Harin ❧ He’s always hoped that your family would approve of him. It’s already a dream come true when he sees how fond of him they are, so excuse him if he’s more than a little taken aback when he hears your relative pointing out what they noticed about him and you excitedly filling them in on more, bragging about your boyfriend without being aware of the heart attack you’re about to give him. He can hear the affection in your voice, can feel the appreciation, and he basks in it. There’s blush painting his skin for sure but his head is full of marriage thoughts and nothing else and he simply can’t care if he’s a little flushed. He manages to keep his cool, somehow, and if he’s a little more affectionate when he joins you again, you only seem to welcome it. The subtle yet noticeable change only comes back home. It takes you a while to notice and put a finger on what exactly happened, but the best you can do is to describe it as Harin getting more comfortable - taking you for granted but in the sense of being comforted by you being his, reassured by your constant presence in his life. He seems somehow happier when he can help you with chores, he settles into the domestic life so well it gives you butterflies just seeing him help you cut the veggies for dinner. Now it’s you who’s got wedding bells ringing in your head. He never mentions that he heard you, but slowly, day by day, he’s trying to get better at telling you how he feels. Like he even needs to when his love is so obvious in how he cares for you.
Kanghyun ❧ How is he supposed to cope? How is he supposed to process the feelings he’s feeling? His usual tactic, dismiss and deny, won’t help here, not in the face of you. It’s all his fault that he overheard and got concerned, he should’ve known you wouldn’t talk about anyone else but him that way. So why is it so hard to process? Some part of him wants to escape, and another wants to run to you and hug you. He can’t laugh this off just because he’s shy and embarrassed. He wouldn’t do that to your love. He decides to pretend like he didn’t hear anything. But can he? He’s not confident from the start and the rest of his confidence shatters quickly the moment you come up to him and engage in conversation. It’s so awkward that he can’t say anything - he keeps getting lost in your eyes or in his own mind, replaying memories of the sweet things he heard you say. You call him out on it, first worried about him, then worried you’ve done something wrong. He can’t have that. Not when you did everything right. So he sucks in a breath, but even so his words are barely above whisper. How can you say all that and then just… Just what? Keep loving him? He doesn’t know himself how to finish his sentence but he knows he hates the look of uncertainty on your face. So he pulls you closer and presses his lips against your forehead with a quiet thank you. He makes a promise to make it up to you. His songs are already about you anyway. A couple and maybe you’ll realize it too.
Dongmyeong ❧ At first he firmly believes it’s a prank. It must be, right? One of those wholesome ones he’s seen, because he knows you wouldn’t risk hurting his feelings on purpose. It makes him feel all mushy inside, even as he tries to calm down his excitement. But if it’s a prank, then you wouldn’t jump in fright and nearly drop your phone - the phone you mumble rushed apologies into before ending the call… And you wouldn’t try to run away… His cheeks turn scarlet while he laughs and holds you tighter, forbidding you from running away from him. The butterflies are wreaking havoc in his stomach, so much it’s almost making him sick but he’s so happy that it’s worth it and you look so embarrassed at being caught. He hugs you, showers you with sweet nothings and his own love confessions, and he gets shy himself in the process. But he can’t fret much, can’t be worried when he’s hugging you, and you’re hugging him, and you giggle and shake your head and he knows there’s no need to be embarrassed. You’re just a couple in love, and that’s beautiful. You squeeze him, and he squeezes you too, rubs your back just to help you calm your emotions - and to collect himself too. He feels like he’ll burst but you’re grounding him. More so when you kiss him. And maybe you take too much joy in seeing him as flustered as you are when he leans his forehead against yours. Who knows what sounds more genuine - if a simple i love you or the earlier confessions you exchanged, even if you didn’t mean to.
Giuk ❧ He thrives on your love. He’s a sucker for any affection you show him. But what he’s hearing might be a little too much. His mind is in overload - his heart is in overload, and he wants to tear it out of his chest so it’s not beating so loud in his ears and he can hear more of you. He’s pretty sure he’s ready to pass out. He can’t move. And he’s so out of it he doesn’t notice when you get quiet and emerge from your room. It takes a while for him to understand what you’re saying, and even longer to answer you. He melts further when you get concerned and drag him on the bed to lie down. He pulls you right down with him. He wants to talk. Just talk. About anything. He wants to be close to you, and you seem as eager to be with him. His heart skips a beat when he realizes that you don’t let go of his hand. Somehow the conversation gets crazy - dreams get shared, you plan the mansion you’ll have in the future together, all the pets you’ll have, what his studio will look like, the guest bedrooms for all your friends. He wants to give that to you. He wants to protect you. He wants to have you, always. In that moment he decides he doesn’t need to say anything, even though he will - because if he felt so giddy hearing you, he can’t stop imagining how happy you would be if you heard him talk about you like that. But what’s more important is that he will work hard so that he can bring you the stars from sky if that’s what you ask for.

You and, Yonghoon are cuddled up on your shared bed, both of you not being able to sleep. You, who thought Yonghoon was asleep got up off your bed, "where are you going?" A voice broke through the silence of the dark room, jumping slightly from the unexpected noise. Quickly turning around, refocusing your eyes to see your lover.
"I can't sleep so I was gonna watch TV and, eat whatever ramen we have in the cupboard and, let you sleep here" you reply, putting your slippers on, "well I can't either, so you can't just leave me here alone in the dark" Yonghoon says dramatically. You sigh "then come with me" you said quietly making your way to the door, Yonghoon didn't respond but you heard the soft creeks of the floor boards under his feet.
After a few minutes you and Yonghoon got snuggled on the couch watching his favorite show, while you slurped on ramen next to him half paying attention. "I swear he's my favorite character, he owns this entire plot" Yonghoon said giggling at the guy on ramen "uhuh" you hummed focused on your ramen, "you're not paying attention are you?" Yonghoon said teasingly, once you realized he caught on you blushed hiding behind your ramen bowl, your action caused Yonghoon to laugh a bit loudly.
Quickly hushing him "Hoon! The neighbors!" You scolded, lightly hitting his shoulder, he hushed his laughing, but his body shaked, being a dead give away to him still laughing. You sigh ignoring him going back to your ramen, a few seconds later, you notice Yonghoons face slowly coming closer to the chopsticks in your hand. Holding out a bundle of noodles close to his mouth, he closes his mouth around you're noodles before slurping and chewing.
A few minutes later of you sharing your ramen with Yonghoon, you set the bowl on the low coffee table, in front of the couch you two are on, you snuggle you're head into Yonghoons shoulder, falling asleep almost instantly. It takes Yonghoon a second to notice your quiet snoring, once he does a small smile grew on his face, pulling you closer grabbing the blanket off the back of the couch, laying it over the both of you, turning the TV off, he lays you on him, falling asleep beneath you.
Although you were both slightly uncomfortable that night you both slept amazing. (you made sure to give Yonghoon a back message from laying with you on him on the couch)

Yonghoon:
He had stumbled into your room late, obviously too tired to think properly and too tired to barely even speak. Younghoon had been working extra hard lately, coming home even later and you were worried. “You’re home so late.” You mumbled sleepily, sitting up in bed and rubbing your eyes. He looked absolutely exhausted, bags under his eyes and sunken shoulders.
“I know, I’m so tired.” He grumbled, dropping his jacket and things to the floor before crawling into bed. Younghoon nestled into your arms and turned around, his back to you. He never was like this, normally always preferring to hold you rather than you him. Something was going on with him, but you knew he was too tired to explain now. So you simply hugged him tighter, your other hand carding your fingers through his hair as you felt him slowly drift off.
“Thanks for not asking a lot of questions.”
Kanghyun/Hyunggu:
Hyunggu had been tossing and turning all night, staring at the ceiling. He even attempted reading in the hopes it would help him fall asleep but it all wasn’t helping. He was entirely envious of you sleeping away right next to him, so much so he just had to wake you up.
“Why aren’t you sleeping?” You asked, a little bit of distress in your voice about being woken up. “I can’t.” He laughed, stroking your face gently as a silent apology. You blinked at him, eyes adjusting and seeing his tired expression. “Can you maybe... hold me?” His voice was soft but you could tell there was a sense of need in his voice. He turned around, his back pressing into your chest. Hyunggu suddenly felt warmer, more comfortable as he felt your arms around him.
“That’s already so much better.”
Harin:
There were days that Harin practiced so hard that it felt like his arms were going to fall off. That he practice with so much emotion it was difficult to even put his backpack on. This was one of those days. Harin had trudged home to find you waiting for him and he couldn’t help but melt into your arms. “I can’t even take my clothes off to get ready for bed.” He grumbled, exhaustion clear in his voice.
You stroked his face before helping him, stripping him of his shirt and jeans, helping him into comfy clothes before opening your arms for him. Harin couldn’t help but melt into you, the feeling of your chest against his back being a total comfort after a long day. Not to mention the gentle brushing of your fingers through his hair. In this moment Harin fully understood why you normally enjoyed being little spoon so much.
“I’m so gratefull to have you.”
Dongmyeong:
He was incredibly fidgety, all night. It was driving you nuts while you tried watching a movie before bed. Dongmyeong was normally quite calm, actually he was the one to get onto you if you moved around too much so it was odd. Smacking his arm lightly as he fidgeted, Dongmyeong looked at you with an offended expression.
“You keep moving.” You commented with a laugh at his face. You received a huff in response and a look as he moved again. “What’s wrong?” You asked, wrapping your arms around him tightly to keep him still and simply to show affection. “I can’t get comfortable.” He admitted, though the feeling of you holding him was already making him feel better. “Just, spoon me please.” He asked hesitantly and you smiled. “Of course.” You told him and he sighed, snuggling into your chest.
“See if you would have asked earlier this could have been resolved earlier.”
Cya/Giwook:
He was stressed, anyone from a mile away could tell. Which meant you, from sitting not 2 feet away could most definitely tell. The music just wasn’t working out that day and it was effecting Giwook’s whole mood. You adjusted yourself on the little couch and cleared you throat.
“Take a break, you know forcing it won’t help.” You said softly, watching his shoulders drop in defeat from behind. He turned in his chair and looked at you with a pout. “Can you just hold me? For a little bit.” He asked and you felt your own expression soften. You opened your arms for him and allowed him to snuggle into your chest. “You know you don’t even have to ask.” You said softly in his ear as you stroked his hair from behind.
“I know. Regardless, I’m thankfull.”

onewe + the little things
Yonghoon ❧ There’s hardly a better feeling than just vibing with someone. To match energies, to have someone hype you up when endorphins are high and someone to pat your back when the days are blue. You see the effort it usually takes Yonghoon to stay calm. But not when you want to read or watch something, when you just crave lying down and relaxing. When he snuggles up to you and wraps his arms around you, head in the crook of your neck, you can feel the energy buzzing just under his skin. You’ve told him many times to just go do whatever but he doesn’t. He calms down soon enough; he’s confessed to you before that he sometimes has a hard time relaxing but that with you it’s so easy. And you get that - on the rare occasion he needs to recharge, no matter if you were bouncing off the walls just minutes before, as soon as you hug him from behind and lean your head on his back, your body reacts and soothes itself. And when it’s the other way around? Nothing’s more natural than supporting your boyfriend when he’s happy and vice versa. You’re never alone when the desire for adventure and fun hits, he always has your back and hypes you up, supports you unconditionally. Maybe it’s just a coincidence that since you’ve started dating there’s been an increase in the good days, but you don’t think so.
Harin ❧ You’ve often felt unimportant in your life. A side character in your own story that cameras wouldn’t focus on for more than a few seconds. Hence why you sometimes think he must be reading your mind or truly be your other half that was missing. They say that if it’s important to you, you should take pictures. And Harin’s the living definition of the saying. It makes you shy, the sudden attention. Not a day goes by without him taking at least one photo of you. Anywhere and anytime you might find yourself on the other side of his camera or his phone, his smiling face hidden by the device. He likes it when you don’t catch on straight away. You don’t really approve of his love for candid shots of you - they just seem so awkward to you. You know you could pose better, fix your hair, smile without your teeth, and yet he treasures them the most, treasures the closest thing to a real you that he can get in a picture. Even so he always asks your permission to keep them - any photo of you, and he checks, once caught, that it’s okay to take pictures of you at all. How could you say no when his excitement shines through the shyness that comes with being caught? He never lets his impromptu photoshoots last too long, though - the real you he can hold and cherish is much more precious.
Kanghyun ❧ Everyone’s a little different. Everyone has different triggers and everyone finds different aspects of life difficult. It’s important to find a good match - someone to compliment your own set of strengths and weaknesses. You’ve been lucky enough to find Hyungu. Although he’s just as shy, you’re strangely compatible. It's like magic. He's surprisingly good at approaching people first, establishing contact and getting over the awkwardness, and then it's your turn. Once the first steps are made, it's easier to talk, and most importantly to make sure everyone is included. Hyungu is naturally quiet, but you still check on him and make sure he's not feeling left out. With this system, there are rarely any regrets - people you wanted to approach but couldn't, or things he wanted to say but didn't because he felt like he would be interrupting. It makes you appreciate one another, but also yourself. It's easier to acknowledge your strength when you're using it to support someone. Similarly, no one could be more reassuring than Hyungu when introducing you to his friends and family, your hand securely in his. In turn you stick to him whenever your family invites you over, and remind him that they love him almost as much as you do, and you both discreetly roll your eyes at your grandma scolding you both for being quiet.
Dongmyeong ❧ If a relationship could be the equivalent of floating on clouds, of always standing in the warm rays of the sun without getting sunburned, of eating cotton candy without getting your fingers and face sticky with sugar, it’d be this one. You’re not letting Dongmyeong go - ever. Sometimes it scares you. But how could you not fall hard when it’s a sweet good morning text every day, a message praising you for your hard work some time later, and exchanging goofy selfies throughout the day. Reminders to drink water, to eat, to take breaks. He takes care of you just like you take care of him. He’s attentive, he always knows when something’s wrong. And he notices the small things, it doesn’t matter if you’re only just trying out something new. It’s genuine compliments and appreciation. Even if the experiment doesn’t work out, he’s proud that you found the courage to try something new. You’re each other’s biggest supporters. To be there for one another is the foundation of the relationship. You nurture each other, grow together as you get over obstacles. Love can’t always win, sometimes the problems can get so big that they can’t be fixed. You’re terrified of it happening to you. And so does Dongmyeong - so you work together. There’s no reason to worry when things are good, to pop the serene bubble of your loving relationship yourselves. It’s just the two of you, and there’s nothing easier than loving each other.
Giuk ❧ There's comfort to be found in familiarity, in symbols, in things that remind you of something or someone, and it's fortunate that both you and Giuk agree on that. It’s a shame that you only discovered it after weeks of beating around the bush. Better late than never, though. It started off small. A blue heart-shaped pin on the bag you carry everywhere. A leopard-print socks. You were hiding them from your boyfriend at first, until you saw him wearing a pin shaped like the emoji he has saved next to your name in his contacts. Then it got more obvious - a scarf with his favorite pattern for you and a figurine of your favorite animal for him. He keeps it on his table; says it reminds him of you. It’s only natural that the situation now is matching accessories, a few couple outfits. It’s nice. You love hiding your hands in your sweater paws knowing that the twin of the shirt is currently worn by him. It calms you down, and he later admits to feeling the same way. Yet as much as you like matching, you both agree that the little secret symbols are more meaningful. It might seem random to your friends that you always carry around a blue pick and panic if you can’t find it, or that you always smile when it rains. If only they knew.

Standing up straight, he would look at you with those wide eyes and the moment you grab his belt, his eyes get even bigger. As you tug him forward, he huffs a laugh seeing the pout on your lips. He cups your face and kisses you deeply, pulling away with a laugh ‘cause now he doesn’t want to leave.
“Wae, wae, wae!” *see pout* “Oh, sorry baby.”
Jinki
He’s a giggling mess the moment your hand touches his belt. As much as he knows he has to leave, he can’t ignore that sweet face you’re making. He gladly let you pull him closer and rest his forehead against yours with a smile on his face. He kisses you sweetest, pecking your lips twice more before he pulls away to leave.
“Did I forget something, sweets? Sorry, now, give me a kiss.”
Kibum
He screams playfully as pull him closer and whines as you press him into the wall. Looking at you, he switches up quickly and smirks before he leans to peck your lips and nuzzles his nose against yours. He rests his forehead on yours as he boops your lips with a finger.
“Honey! Are you trying to make me late?”
Taemin
He tries to pull your hands away, licking his lips as he smiles while biting his lips. He knows you. He knows what’s going to happen if he kisses you now. He sees that look in your eyes and he can’t just walk away. No, you are his weakness and he loves it. He grabs your waist and nips at your lips, his eyes bright as he teases.
“I’m already running late and you want to make me later? You make me crazy!”

A/n: this comeback was a whirlwind for me in all the best ways possible. it was bit sad not seeing onew in the promotions and take part of the concerts they held, but i do hope he's doing well and taking care of himself. that being said, i did include him in this reaction but it will be a bit different from the reactions described for reader in the other members' entries. requests for expansions are always welcome.
Onew: Watching the boys carry out their comeback was very nice, yet bittersweet. You were so accustomed to seeing their comeback with Jinki on stage beside them, but right now he was watching Kibum, Minho, and Taemin at home with you. You'd seen the music videos they had released and were immensely proud, never forgetting to let him know how proud of him you were - even if he was sitting it out to focus on his health. You spent your days doting on him making sure he knew that while you proud of his comeback with SHINee, you were equally as proud of his decision to focus on himself and his wellbeing.
"I'm proud of you on and off the stage."
Key: As mentioned above, you are also proud of Kibum (on and off the stage). Here however, you are constantly fawning over him. He's in his element and nothing is more attractive that someone doing the things they are most passionate about. In this scenario, we'll say that you work in the fashion/styling industry. While a large bulk of your commentary revolves around the vocals and the performances, you also focus on the styling choices. You have a lot to say about Minho's harness (i am droolling).
"You can literally pull off anything while performing, did you get to keep that headband?"
Minho: Pride and happiness for this gem of a man is known and all. He knows it because you make it very clear every comeback. But you are thirsting over this one. That harness? Who gave him the right to do that? He is owning everything he does so passionately and he knows what it is doing to you. More than one of your conversations during this time revolve around what new fantasies the comeback as inspired. What was I saying again?
"Am I speaking to the same person that was just on stage right now?"
Taemin: I missed this man so much and I am personally so glad to see him thriving right now. Here we go. With Taemin, I feel like it's more about the happiness to see him back with the group. A lot of this is really reassuring him that he is indeed doing a great job on stage and he's not lacking or falling behind. A lot of words of affirmation are said by you to really get him to see and feel as confident in himself as you are. While also having a few stargazing moments watching him move so fluidly.
"You're are doing so well and you will continue to do amazing things this comeback. I can feel it."

When They Take Care Of Your Newborn Whilst You Rest ~ SHINee Reaction
Onew:
You could feel Jinki’s eyes on you as another yawn escaped from you, missing out on too much sleep as you cared constantly for your daughter beside you.
“I’m exhausted,” you sighed, leaning back against the sofa, “when do you start catching up on sleep again after giving birth?”
Jinki offered you an understanding smile as he met your eyes, “why don’t you go upstairs and get some sleep for a while? I can take care of Y/D/N by myself.”
“We’re a team, we’re supposed to look after her together,” you panicked, not wanting to leave everything to JInki when he was as tired as you were.
His head shook back across to you, “I wouldn’t offer if I wasn’t alright with taking control of things by myself for a while, take the chance whilst you’ve got it.”
“As long as you’re sure,” you murmured, picking up your phone and getting up from the sofa. “Will you wake me if you have any problems?”
Jinki nodded in reply to you as he glanced at your sleeping daughter just past where you were sat. “Nothing bad is going to happen, it’s only a couple of hours, and you’ll come down feeling much better too.”
“Thank you Jinki, I really appreciate it.”
Key:
A chuckle came from you as you walked into the living room to the squeals of your son, unaware that he had woken up from the nap he’d just had.
“When did you wake up?” You asked your son as Kibum bounced him around gently in his hold to keep him entertained for a while.
At the sound of your voice, Kibum’s head spun around. “Not too long ago, I thought I’d come and sort him, you seemed pretty happy just playing on your phone.”
“It was nice to be able to look through more than four posts before having a baby cry for me,” you admitted as you took a seat on the sofa to watch them both.
Kibum nodded in agreement with you as he shuffled with your son closer towards you. “I’m glad you had a moment to yourself, you’re always so busy.”
“There’s a lot to do,” you smirked as you relaxed back, “even if he doesn’t have a clue about things now, he will one day and see all we do.”
Kibum’s head continued to nod as he understood everything that you said. “I keep telling him how lucky he is to have a mummy like you, but I don’t think he’s quite sure what sort of nonsense I’m on about yet.”
“He’s lucky to have the both of us.”
Minho:
Your body jolted up as you heard a loud crash on the other side of the wall, getting up from your seat and walking to find Minho fighting through the cupboard.
“What are you doing?” You questioned, eyes narrowing as he wrestled the pram out of the cupboard, popping it out for your daughter.
His head snapped to you once he had sorted the pram out. “Y/D/N’s a bit restless so I thought I could take her for a walk for a while and settle her down again.”
“Wait there, I’ll grab my coat,” you told him, only for Minho to call you back when you turned to head up the stairs and fetch your coat and shoes.
His smile was soft as Minho shook his head across at you. “Why don’t you use this time to rest for a little while? You’re always on the go with Y/D/N.”
“Maybe I could do with five minutes to myself, it’s been a little while,” you mumbled as Minho walked past you to get your daughter from her stroller.
Minho quickly nodded in agreement with you, “you stay here and rest for a while, Y/D/N and I will walk down to that coffee shop that you like and see if we can get a takeaway coffee to bring home for you.”
“That sounds like a dream right now.”
Taemin:
A groan came from you as you heard the sounds of your son crying, rubbing the seep out of your eyes as you sat up, only to be pulled straight back down.
“I need to go and see if he’s alright,” you told Taemin as he held you down so that you were resting back against your pillow again.
Once he was sure you’d stay, he sat up and got out of the bed himself. “You’re constantly doing the night shift, I’ll go and make sure he’s alright, you stay here.”
“Are you sure?” You asked Taemin as he reached across to turn one of the lamps on to give him a bit of light as he navigated his way around the landing.
His head nodded in response to you straight away, “you always let me sleep through with work, so now it’s my turn to let you go back to sleep quickly.”
“Thank you,” you called through to Taemin as he began to make his way out of the bedroom, “but if you’re unsure what’s wrong, just call me.”
A chuckle came from Taemin as you still managed to find a way to worry about your son. “I’ve got this under control,” he smirked as he peeked through the door of your son’s bedroom to see him stood in his cot.
“As long as you’re sure Tae.”
