i totally agree with you on (mostly) everyone getting andy wrong. and i don't even think i have a perfect take! but come on painting her as this heartless, angry, careless character is soooo wrong and far from the truth!

lmao well. the unrelenting trauma i've been subjected to by my own brain since 2009 sure has shaped me! but otherwise: the good fortune to have received an excellent education from kindergarten through college, my friends, and sports

the mischievous, insanely talented, future hall of fame goalie i accidentally imprinted on in 2014 brings me more serotonin than i know what to do with sometimes. he pranks people! he makes unbelievable saves! he's somehow bendier than gumby even though he's nearly forty! his nickname is flower! your honor i would take a bullet for this man and his family

3. What are some of your pet peeves?

i hate when people don't use their turn signal. i am that guy telling people exactly what i think of their driving when they don't use their turn signal. or people who are in the left lane because they're """""passing""""" and they're actually just lingering in the passing lane. worst offense is when they're in a semi's blindspot. or driving so that you end up in the semi's blindspot. like!!!!!!! that's super dangerous actually!!!!

4. Share a dark thought? (Go on, vent a little)

ok in an effort to not get personal about the like. intrusive thoughts. or depression thoughts (which are really the only kind of dark thoughts i'm having. and to not expose the things i yell in my car at other drivers on the interstate (and i have definitely said some things to other drivers from the safety of my own car that i absolutely do not mean in a real way and that i would never actually say to someone's face) i'll go with the dark thoughts i had wrt fiction. it's not something i've ever really touched on before in my writing, but i guess dune 2 kind of infected me with a specific brand of brainworms, and now i'm seriously developing the idea of an actual dubcon fic that explores past trauma and the politics of pleasure and how it intertwines with duty (the bene gesserit sure is..... Interesting), and how that all ties together to create some potential for some serious psychosexual fuckery. so in this moment? those are the kinds of dark thoughts i'm indulging. pyschosexual fuckery, childhood trauma and the denial of pleasure. oh! and the pursuit of pain for pleasure. (total copout i know)

6. What are you craving?

this isn't really a craving, but i moved about a month ago and all of my things that didn't fit in three suitcases and my car are still not here. and so like. that's my strongest want right now. craving, i guess. i want my stuff. i want to be able to sit at my table to eat and not sit in a camp chair

2. do you read/reread your own fics?

as i've developed my writing more, i've read my own fic in the service of fixing issues and making them more read-able. and then as i've developed my writing more i've been trying to reread my own fics. because i am the target audience for my stories! i'm writing the stories i want to see in the world. the challenge is (and i was thinking about this today while i was skimming a short thing i just recently posted) is that it reads like something i wrote. (of course! because i wrote it!) but like! i do like my stories! but it will always read like something i wrote! which is uncomfortable! it's like paying attention to the man behind the curtain! anyway the short answer is i want to but it's hard.

4. how many WIPs do you have right now?

never ask a woman her age, her salary or how many WIPs she has. honestly? it's like. god. ok. i have several that i finished writing years ago, that i want to eventually go back to and clean up, because my writing has changed a lot in the interim. I have a book of nile fic that i desperately want to finish writing. and i will. eventually. . . and then i have uhhhh four or five or so that i have worked on to some degree in the last six months or so. and then i have. several ideas that i haven't actually created a document for yet. so uhhhh. i don't know?? lets call it a cool 15 or so. (and not all for the same fandom. it's like. star trek, the old guard, top gun, mission: impossible, and the last samurai)

5. what's a fic idea you've had that you will never write?

hmmmm, a while back, i had an old guard modern no powers au idea with nile being an american art historian who gets hired at a european museum where the main focus would be book of nile. (fully inspired by uhhh mamselle freeman). at this point it doesn't feel like i'll actually write it because, i have like. so many ideas, and really i don't really have a lot of plot points beyond booker calling nile mamselle. but i also hate to ever say never about any of my fic ideas, because i never know when i'll find myself in a mindset for that idea again.
