Decided to redo this post with a better picture, but did another character-themed nail polish look. This one is based on Adam from @you-and-him-vn and I've had my mind on this one for a while. I just knew it would be a little finicky to pull off.

This one is OPI Suzi & the Arctic Fox (a very black-leaning purple) with a matte top coat (the brand I use is Heart and Anchor Lacquer). After that, I painted on splatters of Cirque Colors Lucky Jelly (I get so much mileage out of that color). I used a quick-dry spray by Baroness X on top.

While it would be more striking with a lighter base color, I think someone is right that the similarity in tones makes the "blood" more difficult to see, which is also fitting for Adam.

HI BARBIE ! ~

This nail art is so Barbie coded and it's definitely intended! At first, I wanted to reproduced the Barbie nail art that Coewless posted on her IG page but I wasn't satisfied with the result so I decided to do it my way. I'm really happy with the design I came up with. The colors look so great together. I especially like my pointer and middle fingernails.

Forgot to post some other fun themed nail polish looks I've done.

It took me a while to see the Barbie movie, so I had to repaint my nails before that. Used the same colors as last time, but I added some glitter polish and similarly colored jelly polish for a jelly sandwich. The glitter polish is one of my faves (granted, I don't wear those a ton because removal can be inconvenient) and it's called Crystal Tokyo. The colors similar to Hi, Barbie! and Hi, Ken! were XOXO Jelly and Citron Jelly.

The other look I did is based on Elias from The Groom of Gallagher Mansion. I used Matcha Maker from Holo Taco as the base color and topped it with You're Not That Weird from Bee's Knees Lacquer (that one was from the Lore Olympus collection they had). My logic on this one is that polishes like You're Not That Weird tend to be called ghost polishes. The shimmer is so strong in it that it almost looks solidly the color of the shimmer in some lights (blue, in this case), but disappears at different angles; the base is a sheer sage green sort of color, but I decided to put a solid green underneath for fun.

Not sure what character theme I'd like to try next.

💅🏻 ~Manicure Monday~ 💅🏻

Hi everyone! After sticking to a schedule of painting my nails every other week for the past several months, yesterday I decided to get them done at a salon. I treated myself to a manicure and pedicure, which was a nice break after doing them myself all year. The color I’m wearing is called Strawberry Margarita from the OPI Mexico Collection that came out in Spring 2006. It was a Christmas gift from my coworker who had me for Secret Santa last year, and I saved it for the summertime.

The polish is a bright pink crème. It really does make me want to drink a Strawberry Margarita on the beach in Mexico! I can’t really describe the texture of the formula because I didn’t apply it myself, but it appears to be very smooth. This is what it looks like with two coats and a clear topcoat to give it that extra glossy look. I think it looks good on my skin tone because it’s a warm pink as opposed to a cool blue-based pink.

I just want to mention that I am not specifically wearing it because of the new Barbie movie; it’s just a coincidence that I happen to be wearing this color right after it came out. I had already decided to wear it this particular week when I made my schedule for the spring and summer several months ago. But I played with Barbies a LOT when I was younger, so I’m not embarrassed about it. I don’t have plans to see the movie as of right now, but if someone asks me to go see it with them, I will.

I only have one more new polish lined up for August, and then I’ll start getting into the transition colors for the fall!
