I should add poledancing to the list of odd talents that Akira has but has no business having due to growing up in a small suburban town. I only had access to it bc i had a YMCA that had a MASSIVE gym (in a criminally underfunded part of the city); there were poles put up alongside some other structures to allow counselors to make up some shit for us to do lmao

Hes got a flair about him; speaking from experience, it is FUN to do gymnastic shit like that, and its really really REALLY good for ur core. Other things on the list are basic gymnastics (he hates that shit tho, the classes he took sucked ass), Parkour (loves this; less about running and more about utilizing ur core and bracing for falls), and Knife Flipping/Spinning. Theyre all odd things that coincidentally ended up being VERY good experience for the metaverse :) YEAH the metaverse makes it easier to pull off tricks, but he already knew how to do all those things; you cant get Ryuji or Yusuke to spin kick off a pole wo having them fall and bust their ass- Its ALL skill babey

#my art #doodles #scatter #rock climbing #so like to semi-explain what auto-belays are #a v common form of rock climbing is when ur set up to a rope at the top of the wall to keep you from falling- thats ur belay #and u often have a person manning the rope to help keep it tight and help lower u down afterwards #but there's an auto belay which you just clip in and its a machine that helps you out #and as you go up it pulls the rope taut with u #but since its a machine it takes a moment to register whether youre pulling for a bit of slack or actually coming down #so like. theres a moment when you just fall while it catches you. #and tbh that freefall isnt as scary as just. mustering the courage to let go and let it happen. #its absolutely terrifying and adrenaline-inducing and i LOVED IT. #HAD A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE TRYING TO BOULDER FOR THE FIRST TIME TODAY #JUST FELL ON THE MAT AND WAS JUST LYING THERE LIKE 'oh. oh i can get used to this.'

Winter hiking

One of the perks of being an adult hiking alone is that you can get up on top of that big rock by the trail if you want to. You can climb up every big rock, stand on top & look around, go "yup", then climb down and keep walking to the next one, and no one can tell you to hurry up or that you're slowing everyone down.

never understood people who support benefits for anything but self-inflicted injury. putting aside that not having an arm will be equally as detrimental to your ability to work, the comeback i've heard is "people will start cutting their arms off just to get out of working!" and it's like? they won't. and if someone does, i think it would be pretty safe to say that person shouldn't be working, i'd actually say i'm of the opinion that if something is hurting badly enough that you'll, with no other motive, saw off your own arm? probably not something you should be subjected to. not to be a crazy sjw or anything, but i don't think people saw their arms off casually. i don't think that's a thing that happens. radical stance.
