so I only found apink's dilemma two days ago but it instantly reminded me of orange caramel's lipstick like not the whole thing literally just when they say "dilemma x4" but listen here:
youtube
orange caramel lipstick - when they say "lipstick seutik seugo" (right at the beginning and at the beginning of the choruses)
youtube
apink dilemma - when they say "dilemma dilemma dilemma dilemma" in the choruses (ex. at 0:58)
not sure what I'm gonna do with this information but they're very similar right like it's not just me?

Please vote for which song you think is better! If you haven't already, make sure to listen to both songs under the read more before voting.
Propaganda is encouraged, but please do not be negative towards the other song in doing so. This is meant to be a fun tournament! If you write propaganda in the text of your reblog (rather than in the tags), I will likely reblog it!
youtube
In the battle of iconic old kpop songs, Shawols showed their power over Exo! Then in Round 2, the votes came in Nonstop, leading to Shinee's victory over Oh My Girl!
Ring Ding Dong is another huge icon, and it was submitted twice! It currently stands as Shinee's most viewed MV. Even after 13 years, it would be hard to find a Kpop fan who doesn't know the Ring Ding Dong chorus move.
youtube
Love Dive may receive lots of love, but Catallena won in the first round! Plus, in the Round 2 showdown against.. their own group.. they showed who the real Divas are!
Catallena brings a unique and quirky sound to Kpop, and its over-the-top fun is contagious, as this song continues to intrigue new fans and inspire groups to be more silly in their music! Also, this was the first song to be submitted twice!

hey i think you said a couple of times that blitzers had theatre kid energy and i really love it (i discovered them through macarena a couple of weeks ago and have been obsessed with it since then) !! do you by any chance know any groups/soloists (regardless the generation or gender) who have some songs with this theatre kid vibes ?? i think we just need more goofy songs in our lives. all in all thank you for making me take an interest in blitzers and i hope you have a very nice day 🤍
MY AGENDA REVEALED!!!!!!!!! yes i DO have some recommendations for you!! firstly i MUST recommend my other stupid boys trendz, their actual performances aren't as goofy as blitzers but they are excellent performers and goofy as hell offstage in the dumbest ways you can imagine. my favourite thing is that they started doing 'c' versions of their mvs where they just. do stupid shit filmed on like, the manager's iphone. the c ver for my way actually just dropped a couple of days ago actually here i will link it so you can watch them be stupid:
youtube
obvs there's orange caramel but you likely already know about them. there tend to be less goofy releases from ggs in general but also the ones that do exist are kinda.......teehee i'm just a dumb girl and personally i do not like that. others: yena (her first two releases are fun and silly), dkb (laddest of lad energy. watch their peak time performances they're a very good intro into them (team 08:00)), a.c.e (it's always a.c.e promo hours, take me higher is THE summer song, also down), onewe (they're a band sshhh but they did a 2pm heartbeat DANCE cover for some reason and went so much harder than they needed to), onf (truly a group of losers (complimentary)), golden child (not always so goofy BUT they still do story mvs!), ghost9 (also on peak time, team 14:00), cravity (excellent roster of banger songs with stupid names: party rock, boogie woogie, groovy, and now dilly dally! also some really unhinged tiktoks of that's your thing). i mean there's also like. shinee and exo, but we all know about them. back in the olden days most groups were much more loser-ish (complimentary) bc they were actually composed of theatre kids, instead of all these wannabe influencers that debut now. we used to be a COUNTRY smh.

Calcium List of K-Pop Worth a Damn Pt.1
Hello, my beloved mutuals.
It is I, Calcium, who has consumed way too much K-Pop and has opinions on which songs (and by extension artists) are actually worth a damn.
This is part one because there is so much K-Pop to sort through, so this is going to cover female artists whether groups or soloists. These songs range from bubblegum pop to rock, so I do not expect you to enjoy every single one on this list.
In case this breaks containment: Just because a song or artist is not on this list does not mean I think the song or artist is bad. Also, understand this was made specifically for my mutuals and mutuals only.
Important Language Note: When Romanized, the word 'you' in Korean translates to 'nega' and the word 'I' in Korean translates to 'naega'. When said very fast it sounds like the n-word. I promise it is not the n-word, they are saying 'you' or 'I'.
Now, without further ado, my recommendations!

Overall Artist Recommendations + Explanations
Apink: South Korea's music industry has a problem allowing their female artists to mature over time, but APink has a good blend between the bubblegum pop sound and some of the most beautiful vocals you'll ever hear.
BlackPink: This is going to be controversial, but I found them to be a good (metaphorical) gateway drug. I recommend listening to their first album The Album, but whatever you do skip Ice Cream.
Chung Ha: I cannot emphasize how much I love her entire discography. Most of the soloist listings would have just been her and Sumni if I wasn't self-regulating myself.
Dreamcatcher: Dreamcatcher has come to be known as "The Face of Rock in K-pop", and they deserve the title with the bangers they put out. Not to flex, but I've been a fan since their debut in 2017 and I'm not letting go anytime soon.
NewJeans: This girl group is inspired by 1990s-2000s pop, and it shows in the way everything they make is criminally catchy. If you want to feel like the beginning of a teen movie, they are the go to group to go to.
Sumni: She is my favorite soloist, and most of the soloist listings would have just been her and Chungha if I wasn't self-regulating myself.
That is it for part one, even though I know I am going to be kicking myself later for leaving out some songs but I hope my mutuals appreciate my list.
The next part will be boy groups and soloists. :)
Now to figure out where to cut this.

oh lets go!!!! my fav idol hiii~ okay you have to bear with me on this one, it just so happened you rb a lot of bunnies recently... lmao
position: you were actually assigned the rapper position, but you hate rapping (and kpop does not need more rappers) so you weaseled your way into more of a singing position anyway. you're also the visual of the group, so you get booked for a lot of shoots with the other visual members
concept: BUNNY-DOLS! the group you're in is actually a (for fun) project group, where every member is an already debuted idol that people associate with bunnies, or members that have the bunny emoji as a representative emoji lmao. you can choose who of those you want, im not gonna list real names, just pretend this is a whole different universe
group name: okay i went thru the wikipedia for rabbit because im sticking to my concept, and i decided the group name will be BINKIES. lmaooo according to wikipedia, its a rabbit-term for zoomies and they do it when they're happy. so like, bunny related and also indicating the group is fun and happy.
debut song: omggg its called Easter Egg and it's literally an updated version of orange caramel's my copycat (where the mv is a game and viewers have to find certain things) and the things to find in the mv are 'easter egg' references to each original group the idols were in.
fun fact: it's definitely a co-ed group! but since there are so many members, there are gender-divided and age-related sub units. for example, all the guys are in a sub unit by the term for a male rabbit (buck) dont ask me how its matched with the original group but there we go. ALSO a 2nd fun fact - there are some members that find themselves as activists, boycotting fur and rejecting scientific experiments on rabbits and use their fame for good, so fans follow their lead
send me a 🎵 and ill create a kpop group with you in it, based on your blog

Happy 14th anniversary to the most versatile and talented K-pop girl dance group there ever was!
After School first debuted as a five-piece on this day with AH, and, through the years, went on to give us some of the most elaborate dance performances from playing drums, to tap dancing to pole dancing.
youtube
Their debut stage will forever be iconic. Kahi's abs are a separate member of the group. The Pussycat Dolls influence was quite evident at that point in their career.
youtube
They added the drums as part of the stage intro for Bang!, it was Kahi's idea as she always wanted to to a marching band concept. This particular performance is a special stage in 2013, after Kahi had left the group and Kaeun had joined, but Uee was filming so it's just the eight of them.
Let's Step Up was Shampoo's stage intro and this time they did a tap dancing routine! Bekah could unfortunately not participate as she had hurt her ankle during Bang! promotions (andtheresarumourthatPledisstraightupwouldntpayforherexpensivesurgery) so she could only do the much less demanding choreo for Shampoo.
youtube
And then there's of course First Love. Pole Dancing was this time a part of the choreography for the actual song and not a stage intro, meaning they would do this every. time! Lizzy unfortunately broke her leg while shooting the MV so she did not participate in the promotions.
These women literally put their bodies and souls into their work and I feel like their efforts sometimes are not appreciated as much as they should by the public or are overshadowed by Orange Caramel. But After School gave us great music, great looks and great performances. Honestly what else can one expect?
Happy anniversary goddesses

I didn't think there would be a same-artist battle this early, but here we are!

youtube
Although this song doesn't seem to have an official MV upload on Youtube, Diva is a wonderful representation of the 2nd gen dance tracks we all love! It also pulled off a great win against Candyfloss in the first round, proving that they are the ultimate divas!
