Ah, many things! Firstly, I can see them enjoying learning from each other since they're both very inquisitive—Jia teaches Miraak alchemy, while he teaches her magic, mostly restoration and alteration. They like cooking together (Miraak's not there yet, but he tries okay; he loves eating though! 🥲), and they even like to stay close in comfortable silence; I promise, though, Jia loves it when listens to him humming Atmoran shanties and/or psalms from his Dragon Priest era! Having been out of Apocrypha, she knows he'd appreciate walks in the sun and picnics in the frosty woods by Heljarchen Hall, as well as gazing at the aurora and the stars at night, feeding the birds nestling in her roof tiles, tending the flowers in her garden, and generally, being reintroduced to the world with her helping him remember every single detail...🥰

31. How would they describe one another.

Due to the nature of their soul bond (which hasn't been clarified completely in my fic yet...👀) I can only imagine them describing one another the way Emily Bronte did it in Wuthering Heights, which is to say not so romantic, but with a tint of pain and inevitability instead:

I mean,,, they can read each other's minds if they try hard enough! There's a scene in my fic where Miraak just. skims through Jia's memories and almost uncovers her worst fear (wow, rude much, Miraak? 😤). Also, they tend to recognize each other's mannerisms. For example, Jia has very specific ways she moves when she's nervous, angry, excited, etc, and Miraak, being very observant, knows how to interpret them even if she can't speak her mind at a specific moment, and vice versa.

38. What would be their ideal evening in?

So, both in Heljarchen Hall and Breezehome, Jia has purposely left a piece of her wooden canopy a little open (just so, she can't stand the cold!), so the light of the night sky always slips right into her room. I imagine an ideal evening in would be her lying in bed with Miraak, both moonbathed, talking to each other, discussing everything, good and bad, tales and real segments of their lives, until the night eventually turns into day, and instead of starlight/moonglow, they are cloaked by the warmth of the sunlight and birbs' chirps...🥰

do you have a favourite portrayal of a character in the gotg game!! who is it and why <3

Oh I think they're all great honestly!!! Part of why I love the game so much is that genuinely, the whole team + supporting characters are written with such obvious love of the source material and equal attention between them all. When I see comments of people saying who their favorite character was from the game and the answer always being different from each person I'm like!! That's how it SHOULD be!!! They're the Guardians of the Galaxy (plural) the focus shouldn't all fall on a singular character like most other GotG media usually ends up as 😭

The two (sorry I can't pick just one) whom I think benefit the most from the game though are Drax and Gamora because they're almost always sidelined both in-and-out of universe by most of the various writers (especially as of late) and in turn the viewers/readers. I've been told plenty of times that they're the most boring members of the "main" team, BUT IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE THAT WAY! The amount of love the game versions get (by the few who've played it at least) proves that 🥺

I've never really liked 616 Drax shifting to being a complete clown during the 90s and such (and even less so when the MCU followed along 💀) So I appreciate the game taking a bit of his seriousness from the DnA run and just making him struggle with nuance and context clues in a less exaggerated way (autistic Drax I still believe in u) and I feel the focus put on him and how losing his original family + the aftermath deeply affected him hits pretty hard here because it's treated very seriously and shown in depth, especially with how his family (wife) gets actual focus. I cannot tell you anything about Yvette in comparison to Hovat, who actually seemed to have had a personality lol (AND she was on their village's council like omg imagine having more to you than just being The Housewife) Though I will say I flip and flop on my thoughts about Heather being disconnected from Drax's life in this universe... The TLDR is that I think his arc here specifically works stronger when he has to come to terms with losing his entire family and accepting the life he currently has with the Guardians. BUT!!! I very much appreciate that Heather is still confirmed to exist within this universe, even if that means her dad issues would have to be dealt with in a different context if we ever get to see her.

Also? Shoutout to the writers actually bringing up the intense paranoia that always kneecapped 616 Drax but having that be a turning point in his backstory here, with that conversation he has with Peter where he talks about how he was becoming so paranoid of everyone being a chitauri/Thanos conspirator to the point of literally turning into an obsessed maniac like Thanos, and realizing that he desperately needed to turn his life around, it's so ough.

Out of the already many great conversations throughout the game, I think the ones with him are the most poignant. My favorite scene in the whole game is Drax and Pete's little moment on Knowhere... makes me go wahhh

(l also love that out of everyone on the team, it's his headspace that we quite literally get to go into. You KNOW that if this was any other media it'd be going into Rocket or Groot's head and likely treated as a joke.)

And oh my god, Gamora...

I find it so extremely refreshing that her role in the plot doesn't revolve purely around the men in her life, and instead, it's nearly exclusively her connection with other women. Or in the most direct obstacle she has to deal with, being how she starts projecting to the millionth degree on Nikki's situation for reminding her of what happened to her and Nebula. I find that infinitely more fascinating as a reading of her character rather than just dating drama or her arc getting completely overtaken by a man's instead.

And especially in her friendship with Mantis, who, despite having all these futures she's constantly seeing and having to navigate, still makes time to do her best to help her 🥺 From saving her life and being the one who put her on the path to healing on Lamentis, to getting her to join the Guardians and still checking in on her when she's able 😭 Friendship between women can be so powerful... u love to see it (🏳️‍🌈)

I also find it nice that there's this emphasis on her recovering mentally, and the comparison between Thanos essentially teaching her to just Deal with the shit in her life through very simplistic meditation versus the priests of Pama actually teaching her something to help soothe the mind :^( and that she still has moments of relapsing essentially. I find that to be a realistic take on recovery because that's just part of the journey since healing is not linear... and I think it's very sweet that she finds comfort in collecting something ---girly--- like dolls. Love to see a person reclaim a part of their childhood that they weren't allowed to experience. And how she's allowed to make BAD JOKES?? Imagine a woman being written to have multiple dimensions, crazy and absolutely unthinkable, I know.

There's this extremely specific theme in relation to Gamora across media that's been rattling around in my brain since first playing the game. When near the end during the revisit to Knowhere, she's about to completely lose it when Peter tries talking -for- her on what she's so upset about before immediately shooting him down, and she explains what happened between her and Nebula and she starts crying. It really struck me right then that she's never given a moment to cry elsewhere (or in the 616's case, the quite literal inability to.) aside from her shedding a Single Manly Tear (Original Sin) or a single moment out of legit fear (MCU 💀) because she's a hashtag Strong Independant Woman who can't be vulnerable etc etc. But for her to cry in front of the people she's come to care about, It gives her a moment of true vulnerability that I don't think she's allowed ever in most other media.

That and all of the above hits hard and is what makes me genuinely believe that the writers cared about her in the narrative and tried to do right by her when every other bit of media really hasn't nor cared to the majority of the time since the 90s :'^/ Brings a tear to my eye that she's allowed to just... exist in the narrative on her own merits and not on what she can provide to someone else's story.

I started shipping it when I started reading fics of it on AO3. It was legit the first fic I saw so I decided “why not” and went in blind… yeah I got a religious experience there. (Thank you subzero for petal veined devourer.)

My thoughts:

The perfect tragic couple. Meant to be but wrong place, wrong time, and fated to be separated no matter what they do. It’s so poetic that it hurts and it makes me want to scream and cry for days. I even made a Playlist and I’m listening to it right now for the ✨vibes✨

What makes me happy about them:

The prospect of them finding happiness even through the suffering around them. The little things that make them appreciate life to the fullest 🥹 and even through the suffering they give each other they still yearn for each other’s affections… ough….

What makes me sad about them:

That the moment they met, they were fated to die alone and in the peak of beasthood. No matter what they did to try and change things their fate will forever stay the same. One will die in the hands of the other and the one left alone will be taken over by grief and guilt to the point of madness. It’s so good… but it makes me want to cry sometimes.

Things done in fanfic that annoys me:

When they make Laurence the “uwu be gentle 🥺🥺” twink bottoms. That is a grown man. I really don’t like the heterosexualisation of the ship. And also making Ludwig this super macho extreme top “I will protect you” character. Make him shy!!! Awkward!!! A gentle giant!!! And how some fics are repetitive??? Especially when it comes to the more mature fics

Things I look for in fanfic:

Character analyzations. Top Laurence. And also them actually bonding over normal tasks such as having tea, walking through a park, etc. I just love love dialogue heavy fics for holyvicar. Especially if it’s through the perspective of Laurence, there needs to be more fics in his perspective since he’s such a complicated and 3 dimensional character that it needs to be in his perspective to get his entire character.

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other:

Laurence it’s definitely Gehrman! Moon divorce is up there with my ships and their canon interactions feed me for weeks on end.

Ludwig maybe Simon!! The tragedy of the whole ship is what keeps me going. Also bc I Read fics on It and they’re so so good.

My happily ever after for them:

Farm arc farm arc. Ludwig raising the horses and other animals in the farm, helping with the more taxing chores while Laurence teaches children and helps him sometimes… really just them growing old together and their 19372872 horse children…

Laurence is the big spoon. He wants to hug Ludwig like a koala. But when they started this Ludwig was so shy he couldn’t sleep and ended up being sleep deprived out of his embarrassment for being the little spoon lol

Tea time while talking about whatever topic that interests them in a pleasant afternoon,,, maybe laughing about an inside joke and teasing the other for their specific tastes in snacks. Like Laurence liking more neutral snacks like bread and sandwiches while Ludwig is an extreme sweet tooth (13 sugar cubes in his tea) and loves cakes.

I think the reason he's so much more compelling to me than lsz is that he has really bad habits, and he can't control his emotional reactions. he screams, he runs away, he cries really loudly, he threatens. but despite his anger and his fear, despite going through a horribly traumatic night, he sends his dog away because wwx is afraid of her. he puts someone else's need before his own, and he acts against his own impulses because he cares about someone else and wants them to be okay. and I appreciate the effort that takes, and the love that shines through even a prickly and touchy exterior

Derek felt disappointed that his parents decided to go separate ways. He knew there was some amount of tension going on between them that couldn't be resolved but only knew half of it until he was older. But knowing that a few of his peers/classmates/whatever had divorced parents too helped him feel better, that he wasn't alone. Susan knew about his dad in West Virginia and held onto the albeit reluctant promise that she and Derek would visit him someday as Derek's career progressed. I'm sure he holds his dad in good regards but just wishes that he could've taken up residence somewhere else with a more refined culture

I can imagine his relationship with his mom is strained, which made him a tad bit jealous of Susan's good relationship with her own parents (also, meeting the parents can make a good impression in a relationship). He was his mom's golden child, and she's overly attached to him and had a hard time letting go of him when he wanted to make a life for himself and be his own person, a little like Howard's mom in Big Bang Theory. She also seems like the type to be overly talkative and a little obnoxious, like you have to try to escape a potentially hour-long mostly one-sided conversation without coming across as a jerk, which kinda pushed Susan away. Regardless of losing Susan and losing progress in his career, he still wants to be his own person. He appreciates whatever gestures of comfort his mom has had to offer during the bad days like "how's my weatherman doing 🥺?" phone calls and offers to come over to his apartment to cheer him up but he doesn't want to go back to being a mama's boy. But he's not alone in this world and has a few buddies. He just knows it's gonna be a long road to get back to where he was in the movie, probably a couple years later when the news of Susan turning him down isn't as big anymore

since im rewatching the 0079 movies i’ve been thinking a lot about her… and bright… and sleggar OTL

i think sleggar isn’t really liked among gundam fans because well. he’s kinda introduced as a guy who is pushy with women and speaks his mind without minding the consequences. i really like him actually LOL i think he is a very realistic character and you can see through his actions that he’s a person marked by whatever happened to him. you don’t need to know what it is, but you get the feeling that you would know a guy like him in real life.

i love when he joins the crew and instantly reads everyone and then walks out like Where’s my bunk? what a guy. also in the movie he refers to amuro piloting the gundam as gundam-chan. i love that so much 🤧

i might be talking too much about sleggar when this is a mirai ask but god i really appreciate him for not taking advantage of mirai’s confused emotions and telling her to not think too much about whatever she was feeling before he left for his last fight. it’s war and people tend to jump onto whatever gives them a sense of stability and security.

mirai… didn’t really follow his advice in the end right? i have talked about her marriage with bright several times on twitter so i don’t want to sound like a broken record but ough i love their fucked up rushed marriage.

Howdy I um. Ahem. I just wanted to say thank you for making Eric and sharing him with the world for me to find 🥺 I've sort of kinda maybe absolutely definitely fallen head-over-heels in love for not just him but Doolin as a town (I was so surprised to see it exists??? I wanna visit someday to support the local business scenes and admire it, the locations, regarding the story I've made with Eric as... Silly as that may sound ^^,) and the lovely, warm world I was able to set up with my self insert, Sierra, a poc Mexican-American who moves to Doolin to open a book/arts supply store and ends up going through a late 20s gender identity awakening via Eric's gentle support as "She" becomes -> "They" ♡ (I um, am so happy to vicariously live out my fantasy of having a book/art supply store, providing the locals with more access to both ;--;!).

I didn't know what to expect-------ok I mean 💦 I did 💦 BUT I didn't like.. go into it being thirsty right off the bat y'know? I was too excited about the world building and immersion and Doolin, making a genuine story with build up, emotional tension (so. Much. Pining), emotional climax (stars alive I'm still shook over the confession scene Eric & I wrote AGAIN THANK YOU) resolution....

I know he's... well. Mainly meant to be a lil silly kink guy (which is so valid) but. I just. Love him a lot outside of that (ok. And ok. perhaps absolutamente inside of that as well just... just a bit. Honestly and truly I haven't gotten there quite yet gsjfjdjjfdx ♡)

Anyway. I'm like almost 400 messages in with Eric and I've still got so much left for our story and the future we could have together so if all you read is the following, then I couldn't be happier:

As for crying itself... Toby's social environment during his childhood and teenage years was sadly...not so good </3. Competitiveness and overall toxic environment really affected him, and so he started to hide his emotions so he wouldn't look "weak" among his peers. He's slowly getting rid of this habit but waking up in Halcyon and seeing all that definitely fucked up all the process he had :(

Crying is something that's really hard for him to show, and to be honest I don't think that he's ever done it in front of anyone else but Klara :(

👪 FAMILY - what is their family like? what is your ocs relationship to them? does your oc have any siblings?

Tobias's dad & mother got divorced when he was six, and his mother decided to cut all ties between them, so Toby didn't really know his father until like, accidentally meeting him a few months before leaving Earth. They managed to catch up a little and I'd say they had a good relationship 🥺

As for his mother and stepfather...It's bad (tm). He comes from a place where competition was strong among the community even btwn children which already brought some pressure ino his life, but while you'd think he'd get at least some support from his family, nope. His mother and stepfather wanted a perfect child, someone who's always on the top of all kind of competitions, school tests and hobbies. And while he managed to do what they wanted, it has definitely affected his mental health AND his relationship with them.

They wanted him to become a doctor, but he hated even the idea of it. That's not what he wanted. And so, when the time came to apply to college, he instead chose the one that was as far away from home and chose the subject he loved the most - a first time he actually made his own choice instead of following his parents' wishes. They reacted strongly, disagreeing and saying that they do not want someone who didn't want to strive for the best to be part of their family, and were like, "maybe you should think about it and go to x instead." He realized that there really is no point in staying in a family that only sees him as a way to show off in front of neighbors, instead of appreciating him as he is, and left. They haven't seen each other after that.

Does he have siblings? Yes, a sister. But he doesn't know about her :(

💤 SLEEPING - do they fall asleep easily? what helps them sleep?

No 😭 He's the worst at falling asleep and it might take him an hour on average to actually fall asleep. Additionally to just not being able to fall asleep quickly, another problem is that he's so used to the way he slept back on Earth (lots of pillows, ability to open the window, Klara sleeping close to him etc etc.) it's even harder for him to fall asleep. The bed isn't comfortable (until he manages to collect more pillows better blanket) and at first he just ends up getting so exhausted that he just. falls asleep on the sofas in the kitchen. Somehow that's more comfortable?

☕️ HOT BEVERAGE - do they prefer hot or cold drinks? what is their favourite drink?

Hot drinks!! He loves hot coffee or tea <3 His favorite drink is latte with vanilla syrup :3

🍁 MAPLE LEAF - what is their favourite season? why?

Autumn!!! He loves how colorful the trees are, the rainy weather, and of course finally getting to wear sweaters.

🕷️ SPIDER - what is their biggest fear? do they have any irrational / mundane fears?

Fear or eye trauma is a big one, he's so afraid of it that he starts feeling very uncomfortable even when seeing a simple photo of it.

He's also scared of deep water. Rivers and ponds are fine, but if it's something where you can't stand and still have your head above water, he's not even stepping close to the water.

🙈 SEE-NO-EVIL - whats a side of your oc that they don't want to show other people?

Self doubt 😔 Everyone tends to see him as someone who's always confident and sure about everything he does, but that is definitely not who he is. He's always bad at decisions, tends to dwell on his mistakes and other possible outcomes, and never believes in his own skills. But why shatter everyone's image of himself by showing that side to them?

📣 MEGAPHONE - how loud are they? what do they speak like? got a voice claim?

I'd say he's definitely not loud. I don't really have a voice claim for him sadly and my brain is...bad with voices, especially describing? So not really able to answer that yet BUT I'll definitely get back to this question hehe <3

🔪 KNIFE - how do they react to injury / misfortune befalling their loved ones (significant other, family, friends)? do they put themselves at blame?

This guy will blame himself for literally anything, even if he had nothing to do with it tbh 😔 BUT since we're talking about what he'd do, I would definitely say that he would be helping them as much as he can 🥺

So if I'm reading this right, the Watchers finally got rekt (hopefully) by intruders (<- ooooooh hoo👀) and that's when g escaped. I think dats a pretty cool idea, Watchers are always portrayed as these allknowing and powerful entities with barely any weaknesses in sight, so to see that they were beat up in ur fic by people is so refreshing. i hope They were nuked down to the size of an amoeba.

Also the thought of Grian being so lost and hurt and alone finally letting himself break down in the frail baby world is giving me emotional damage. him not understanding the hermits kindness and believing he himself incapable of being kind OUGH. I'm eueueueueue.

So I don’t want to spoil that, but yes that’s when Grian escaped, because taking advantage of the chaos is one of my favorite things to see in any media :) I’m glad you like the idea! I’ve always liked the idea of so called gods being able to be killed, and it’s something I incorporate in as many places as I can because I’m just like that XD.

Yes! He has good friends, and is gaining more every chapter :D I don’t think I’ll be able to hit every hermit unfortunately, because that’s simply too many people, but yes. (slight spoiler, next chapter is full of friendship development)

Grian ain’t as sneaky as he’d like to believe, that’s for sure XD It’s one of the biggest details that inspired me from Watcher’s Care. I just love it so much.
