Alternate Versions wip
This is for AU versions of characters. Terrin is V’ehsz Legacy Outlander, but sometimes I like to dabble in having someone else in that place, or I toy with the idea of having a character as a different class from their canon self. Click the name to go to their alternate profile.
Alternate KOTFE/ET Variations
Non-Outlander Ar’eonis’terrinxx
Outlander Varrich Tophrik
Outlander Rediaex’aere’zortiea
Outlander Synnda V’ehsz
Outlander Azan Tarnak
Alternate Classes
Sith Synnda V’ehsz
Imperial Agent Ar’eonis’terrinxx
Jedi Qizulth Verryn
Imperial Agent Varrich Tophrik
Republic Trooper Redieax’aere’zortiea
Republic Trooper Azuma
Jedi Azan Tarnak
Sith K’hedif

here's some Varrich, too <333
he deserved that sonic weapon thing forcing him to his knees. jerk <3
concerning fact of the day: the interrogation with Malgus after Rhunuk, uh. well. let's just say it got him thinking and he Wasn't an ass for once
his answer of "nothing lasts forever" in reply to Malgus saying it's a shame they'll always be enemies....
makes me worried for what the future has in store for his Commander AU

I've been pretty creatively drained lately and it's made me v inactive here and I hate it :( so here's some AU ramblings
uuhhhhh if anyone wants to send an ask or something about one of them I'd love you forever, and it might help kickstart my creativity
Vehsz aus
Canon: the universe im normally talking about when I mention my ocs. Terrin (Grand Champion) is the Commander/Outlander. Though her alliance is militant due to her status as a Mandalorian, she does drive to bring relative peace to the galaxy, and she and her Alliance are respected.
Commander!Varrich: a personal favorite AU. Varrich is my trooper, and he becomes a fallen hero as Outlander. Hes the villain of the story, his Alliance is a dangerous military, and he's bound to meet his end being stabbed in the back.
Commander!Synnda: though not cruel, being Commander hardens Synnda. He no longer has his gentle edges, but he's a good leader who wants the galaxy to find peace. His Alliance is more scholarly and attempts to negotiate, resorting to violence only as a last resort in most situations. It's seen as soft until the moment Synnda no longer stays his hand.
Commander!Xaerez: He never wanted this. He never wanted the spotlight, the leadership. But he accepts it with a sigh and does his best to lead the galaxy into an era of peace. He's distrusted, and has to work a lot harder than the other Commanders in various V'ehsz AUs to earn his people's - and the galaxy's - respect and trust. His Alliance relies rather heavily on information and isn't afraid to resort to blackmail and assassination to end the war between factions.
Modern: An AU set in a modern, human world. It's essentially a coffee shop/slice-of-life AU. No war, assassinations, spies - just everyday people in various situations.
Fantasy: A medieval-fantasy setting. The V'ehsz Legacy is a series of fantastical creatures, sorcerers, etc. The kingdom is at war with an unknown force that's slowly draining the life from everything and everyone. Knight-Captain Terrin puts together a team to find and destroy the source of the decay.
Apocalypse: A zombie apocalypse with similar setting as Modern AU, all of them are human. They're just trying to survive a world that's out to kill them.
Rediscovery Era: While not technically an AU, it's set a few thousand years after Canon V'ehsz. The Alliance long ago fled into uncharted space, leaving behind only vague clues to their whereabouts. Spacers, pirates, adventurers - they've all tried and failed to find it. That is, until a group of scholars decide to take a leap and go on an adventure to follow the clues.
Role Reversal: What would happen if there was just a little change here, a little one there, to change the lives of the V'ehsz Legacy before the start of the class stories? In this world, they find themselves following far different paths from their canon selves.
Mermaid: I just. Really like drawing mermaids, so created this one during Mermay a few years ago. No story behind this one, it's just an excuse to draw some OCs as merfolk and give them eerie fisherman's tales type backgrounds.

Whumptober 2022 Day 14: Die A Hero Or Live Long Enough to Become a Villain Desperate Measures | Failed Escape | “I’ll be right behind you.”
Star Wars: The Old Republic Commander!Varrich AU Characters: Varrich Tophrik (Meteor - Mirialan), Synnda V'ehsz (Barsen'thor - Zabrak) Warnings: Violence, Blood, Murder
---------------
He never liked going back to Zakuul.
It made his blood boil, seeing the beautiful structures, hearing the chattering and laughing civilians, with no signs that their world was at war.
So, maybe he relished the appearance of the building he’d all but crashed into, in ruin. Shards of glass, threatening to fall hundreds of meters to the ground below. Civilians whimpering, screaming, hunkering down to dodge blaster bolts and flying debris from explosions.
It was the least the damned Spire deserved.
A whisper in his ear—Valkorian? or the Force itself? he couldn’t be sure, not with how unfamiliar he was with the accursed thing having been Force-blind all his life up until he found an ex-Emperor taking up residence in his mind—made him whip around with his rifle poised.
His first shot was deflected by the Knight’s pike, as was the second.
But once he was in range, Varrich reached out.
His prosthetic still felt odd. Clunky. Three fingers instead of five strange to get used to. But the experimental metal held true: When the blade of the pike hit his palm, he was able to shove it away with naught but singed paint.
The Knight’s shocked pause was all he needed. With that same limb, he lashed out—aiming for his neck, to tear at the fabric between his helmet and chest. The claws that made up the ends of the digits did just that, and blood spilled onto the metal as the Knight gasped and grasped for his own neck.
He drew his hand back as the Knight collapsed at his feet, flexed the fingers testily even as blood pooled by one boot. Perhaps he could show Arcann just how nasty his new prosthetic could be… he thought bitterly. Oggurobb had eagerly suggested a poison implant for the clawtips to dispense. It would be a perfect way to return the favor.
Sneering as the Knight choked on his own blood, Varrich used a heavy boot to shove him out of the way before continuing on through the building. He was after…a schematic. He found he didn’t really care what it was for, not when his head scientist had started rambling about it. It was something to make his job easier, and it gave the Commander an excuse to test the upgrades on his new arm on…volunteers, the doctor had cheerfully called them.
Theron had already split off to search out the schematic through the building’s files, which had left the Barsen’thor hovering close at the Commander’s side. Varrich couldn’t particularly say he was fond of having the Jedi somewhere nearby, shrouded by the Force somewhere in the shadows.
Once, he’d respected the man. Called him an ally, trusted him.
Now when they locked eyes, there was distrust and they studied each other like specimens under a microscope.
V’ehsz had noticed long ago, long before nearly anyone else, that Varrich’s time in carbonite had changed him “for the worst,” according to the Jedi. He’d been the first to murmur uncertainties about naming him Commander, would be the first to speak out against his plans and not back down when a heated glare landed on him.
And now he was here.
The Jedi was only there to keep an eye on him.
Varrich’s skin crawled with growing anger.
Each Knight and Skytrooper to cross his path made it spark hotter. Each civilian to scramble away begging, brought his irritation higher.
And then it happened.
V’ehsz had stepped out of his shroud of shadows and Force energy to open a door with his weapon. Inside, were two civilians.
The Jedi’s words were soothing as he assured no harm to them, even as Varrich shoved past to start tearing through drawers and datapads. Though both were quiet, Varrich could feel the other watching him—yet, every time he glanced up to silently challenge the other’s stare, V’ehsz was reading over files or pocketing the occasional drive.
The civilians murmured to each other (their Emperor wouldn’t stand for this, Arcann would have their heads, they were dead men). V’ehsz didn’t pay their words any mind. Varrich felt his lip curling into a snarl the longer the pair whispered to each other. The longer they threatened Arcann’s wrath, the longer they pointed out Varrich’s hand and promised their Emperor would do the same to the other.
“We’ve got everything,” Varrich said instead.
The Jedi only nodded as he dragged his eyes over the room one more time. “Then we should go. Theron has the schematic.”
Varrich tipped his head toward the door. “I’ll be right behind you. This file needs to finish uploading to my drive.” He kept his voice carefully even. As he expected, V’ehsz locked eyes with the visor of his helmet. He was hesitating.
“That’s an order. Get the shuttle ready; I’ll be there shortly.”
And he was gone.
The Commander locked his jaw and waited many long moments, until Valkorian himself spoke up that the pest was gone.
And he drew his weapon.
For the first time in a long time, his hands shook. His remaining one, he felt sweat slick the inside of his glove; the prosthetic, clicked against the stock of his rifle. He took a breath to calm his own nerves and steady his hands as the two civilians cowered back into a corner as the barrel of a rifle stared them down.
One shot.
One body went still.
The second missed as the other scrambled away.
The third and fourth met their marks, and he fell as still as his comrade.
Varrich felt himself locked in place. His prosthetic was creaking from how tightly his hands gripped at his weapon. Maybe his eyes would have even been wide could he see them, or face pallid.
He’d never fired upon unarmed civilians before.
And yet… He couldn’t bring himself to feel guilt for it.
They’d deserved it.
They’d serve as examples to Zakuul what he was willing to do.
He was in the right.
He was.
Really.

Nowhere to Run
Whumptober 2022 Day 2: Nowhere to Run Cornered | Caged | Confrontation
Star Wars: The Old Republic Commander!Varrich AU Characters: Lina Tophrik (Jedi Consular - Mirialan), Varrich Tophrik (Meteor - Mirialan) Warnings: Choking
---------------------
She’d realized, far too late, the mistake that she’d made.
It made her heart ache, seeing what her brother had become.
…No. No, this wasn’t her brother—her beloved twin—anymore. This was the Commander. In all his cruel glory…
She swallowed, brought her blaster closer to her chest as she listened carefully to the forest around her.
It may have been a mistake, but she couldn’t find it in herself to regret it. She would have never forgiven herself if she hadn’t at least tried. It didn’t change the fact that her shoulder ached where the blaster bolt had met it; the smell of burnt flesh made her nose scrunch up, and every movement of her arm had her hissing through her teeth.
She’d kicked off her shoes a while ago, leaving the soles of her feet to become bloody and bruised as she took off through the trees again to the sound of approaching steps.
“Lina!”
His voice was distant. Furious.
She covered her mouth with a hand in an attempt to hide the sound of her panting breaths.
Her own blaster was still warm in her hands, the barrel only just barely being cooled enough to touch it again.
She’d met her mark—if only it wasn’t for his damned armor. She could have finally ended it, ended all the pain he was causing. It would have torn her heart in half, but so be it.
The galaxy at large was more important than her broken heart.
Her dress was torn, her face and arms and feet stung where the underbrush had effortlessly sliced into her skin. The bark at her back was rough and uncomfortable as she pressed herself against it, not daring to move as the sound of heavy boots drew closer.
“Melina!”
The snarl in his voice sent a chill up her spine, and she started running again.
That wasn’t her brother. That wasn’t Varrich. He hadn’t been for a long time. She blinked the tears that threatened to fall away and bared her teeth, took a running leap over a felled tree. Its branches reached out to grab her, ripped a strip from her dress and she cursed as the evidence of her route was left in her wake.
Her shoulders were heaving, and she blindly loaded another bolt into her blaster, not daring to take her eyes off the path she tore through the trees.
A cry ripped from her throat when she nearly ran right off a cliff.
Eyes wide, stance exhausted but defensive, she forced herself to turn around. To face her pursuer.
It didn’t take long for Varrich to emerge from the trees. He stalked forward; his dark helmet and armor and the cape falling over one shoulder swallowed any light to fall on him. He reminded her of the shade stalkers that prowled the wilderness; she only wished this was merely a shade stalker.
But this… Oh, this was so much worse.
She took a step back, reaching her hands out and shoving. Varrich grunted as the Force threw him into a tree behind him, but when he raised his weapon all Lina could do was drop her own and bring her hands up again.
“Please…” Her voice was smaller than she’d ever heard it, and a part of her wasn’t even sure that it was her own. “Stop doing this. It’s not—ghk!”
He strode forward, a prosthetic hand finding its home around her throat and lifting.
She stood on her toes, grateful for the fact that she’d always been a little taller than him, for even as he pushed her back over the cliff, her toes found footholds. She clawed uselessly at the metal fingers squeezing around her neck; they hurt, they cut, and she prayed to the Force that he didn’t have the clawtips open to release poison into her bloodstream.
“Please,” she begged.
His head only tilted. She wasn’t sure what his expression said, not with the harsh angles of his helmet hiding it.
She wasn’t sure she wanted to know, not as his hand only tightened and she gasped desperately for air and tried in vain to pull the fingers away.
This wasn’t her Varrich. He’d died a long time ago.

I've been thinking about how different the Star Fortress raids would go for my legacy depending on which Commander's universe it is
Most of it is more or less the same, some get swapped around a little or someone else might replace someone for the strike teams
But it keeps coming down to Xaerez and the Voss Fortress being the big change
In all but one of these AUs, Andur was their mole. They didn't know it was Andur himself who sent the Fortress and Exarch information to the Alliance, but it was him indeed. He wants the Fortresses gone. All they're doing is causing pain, and who better to take out ALL of them than the Alliance?
In canon V'ehsz, with Terrin as Commander, Xae meets a hesitant Exarch Andur. Andur is a sad, broken man. He loves his planet, his people. He doesn't love Emperor Arcann and how much his rule is hurting the rest of the galaxy. He's more aloof toward Xae, but protects him from his own forces as he overrides controls in the Fortress. Andur is willing to die when the Fortress goes down, but Xaerez talks him out of it, talks him into helping them take Arcann off the throne.
Terrin's Andur doesn't officially join the Alliance. He helps deal with the Throne, with Vaylin, then goes back to Zakuul. He's one of the Alliance's most trusted contacted with its ally in Zakuul, he's a Knight Captain, but... well, guilt can hold one in a chokehold for a long time.
Synnda's Alliance, Andur is ready and willing to go with Xaerez. Synnda is a negotiator and a peacekeeper, but he's not weak. He can defend his people, his power in the Force can be felt by Andur, he knows when it'stime to raise his weapon, but he's not a tyrant. He's soft-spoken, a protector - he's what Andur would have wanted in an Emperor after Valkorion's apparent death.
Andur officially joins Synnda's Alliance, and becomes, more or less, its Zakuul senator.
Xaerez's Alliance, Andur is unsure of. Xae is a spy. A liar. So many horrible things he's done come to the surface when he's made Commander.
But Andur also sees that he's genuinely trying to save the galaxy. And, AND, he reasons, here he is. Right there, in Andur's Fortress where he could easily be killed. Here he is, with poor combat skills, ready to die for his cause, to destroy this Fortress. THAT, thinks Andur, is a leader. So he protects Xaerez from his own forces, and accepts his offer to help take down the Throne.
But....then there's Varrich's Alliance. Andur is afraid of it. It's as bad as Arcann. It's a weapon, he's a tyrant. Between Arcann and Varrich, there's no winning either way, no matter whose forces reign victorious.
This Alliance follows the game more closely, he sends multiple scout teams to look through the Fortresses before the Real Deal coordinated strike.
Andur defends his Fortress from another tyrant's invaders.
...and Xaerez fails. The Voss Fortress remains standing, hours after the others are nothing but debris orbiting their planets. The Voss Fortress remains, with a still body laying prone on the floor.
Xaerez doesn't survive.
Varrich takes a large team to attack the Fortress. Theron finds the body of the man he loved. Andur dies at Varrich's hands while a saboteur slices the computer systems.
And Xaerez's body is destroyed with the Fortress.
And Theron finally starts to question and lose faith in the terrible Commander he follows.

⭐ for Varrich?😊 (~Dina)
Thank you, Dina / @thedinalixlegacy ! 💚💜

Going with Outlander!Varrich for this one
Like with his V'ehsz Canon variant, Outlander also loses a hand - although unlike Canon, it just further fuels his anger and increasingly violent tendencies rather than mellows him out.
He lost it in his duel with Arcann on Asylum. Though unlike Canon, who lost his arm at his shoulder, Outlander only lost his hand just past the wrist. His final face-off with Arcann, Varrich made sure to cut off his remaining hand in the same place before publicly executing him (both with Arcann's own weapon, at that).
His prosthetic is upgraded with razor-sharp fingers and a poison capsule that the "claws" can inject, and he uses it more and more often as he becomes the villain of his Outlander AU.

Outlander!Varrich is becoming less of a leader and more of an ass who'll do literally whatever it takes to win with each story update.....
he was sick of war and fighting and- but now that this version's finally accepted that he can't escape it? oof....
and poor Arn having to deal with him in that flashpoint ;~; he looked away when Varrich killed Valiss and was probably regretting that he had to accompany Vee
he was testy during the followup meeting, too, rip. bless Gnost-Dural's patience with this Commander goddamn

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately, especially after I’d logged in as Varrich to craft & sell something and was messing with his outfits waiting for the thing to craft--that’s when I saw his original, the Havoc white-and-orange armor he wore for so long with his head held high and a certainty about where he stood in the galaxy, in his first outfit slot.
Most of my toons end up growing and becoming better people through the expansions, even if only marginally, but in the AU where Varrich’s the Outlander? Not so much.
He ends up a fallen hero. He starts out wanting to help people--to save the galaxy just like he’s always done--but seeing how everything, including the Republic he once fought tooth and nail for, went to shit, and having Valkorian in his head and realizing how much time has passed and how his team was torn apart after he went missing he just. Breaks.
As a Balmorran who fought in its resistance as a teenager, he loathes the Sith Empire, but he gave up everything to join the Republic so it would help his home. He was loyal, and did whatever was asked of him, he dealt with traitors and being shoved into leadership and running all over the galaxy saving the Republic’s ass and it just. Abandoned him, abandoned everything he’d fought so hard for, to Zakuul, and he starts to think that maybe Tavus had been right.
Outlander Varrich stops caring. He just wants all the fucking war to end. And if that means crushing the Empire, Zakuul, and the Republic under his boot and leaving the survivors to struggle from the rubble, so be it.
His Alliance isn’t a peacekeeper--it merely pretends to be one. It’s not an ally or something to look to for hope or something you should ever, ever trust. It’s something to duck your head and run from, something to be afraid of.
He treats it solely as a military, something to beat down his enemies with, and it’s terrifying.
The Varrich who once led Havoc Squad died in the carbonite.

As much as I love his "prime" universe story, I am curious if you'll expand more on Commander Varrich! I can't help but enjoy seeing the 'dark sided' au of good characters!
Ooooh yeah, I totally wanna actually write some fics for that AU!
I've been considering novelizing a chapter or two from KOTFE/ET or something to start with, idk yet, but I definitely wanna get some actual content for that version of him besides just short facts posts/screenshots from his playthrough.
Maybe something from his sister's POV, too... She's pretty horrified with what he's become, so would be interesting to explore the juxtaposition between their thoughts in that AU.
Tumblr media
Now, for the obligatory Outlander!Varrich fact...
Let's just say that the biggest reason he has some of the allies he does is strictly FEAR. People are afraid of him, and his Alliance, but they're even more afraid of what he'll do to them if they don't agree to ally with him.
Others, join because he obviously knows what he's doing and has a lot of power.
And the thing is? He does actually feel guilty...
At first.
Then the longer it goes on, the more comfortable he is with it, and eventually starts actively trying to use fear tactics when the "join us, you won't regret it" doesn't work.
I kinda like the idea of him having the Emperor and Chancellor under his heel, too. He killed the entire Zakuul royal family only to just take their place in the end but shhhhh
