Homemade caprese salad and heringsfilet in paprika sauce is definitely one of the most disjointed dinners I've had in awhile.

#wipnadiart #i think the funniest part about windowverse kaine being blind in his left eye is that it is Completely Unrelated to the burn scars #that side of his face is just super fucked up #even the ear 😂 #am not actually 100% on how a cataract should look because if you google ''cataract'' it's all optometry photos #oh nope that's how it looks #alright 👍 #left eye cataract is from being on prednisone when he was younger + ''Periocular Trauma'' #part of why the finger outlines are like that on this scar btw is that it's multiple marks overlapped over time #the little nick on his forehead is a scar from a regular cut lol idk when or what but just. a cut. #the scar on his chin and the gnarly one peeking out under his collar is from esme ripping his throat out with her fangs #the smallish roundish scars are from lesions from ''clone degeneration'' aka autoimmune disease #the little dots are just scabs from him skinpicking and the blood is from compulsive lip-biting #the missing piece from his ear is also from lesions. it just kinda... ate through his ear there... #his eyelid and eyebrow are droopy is from prof. warren shattering his brow bone with a wrench #iirc the same time he fucked up his nose

Here's the other pumpkin I carved this year (I did it yesterday but I was too busy doing other things, like cooking the pumpkin on the stove, and didn't carve it until late).

Dracula on the front, simple bat design on the back.

#pumpkin #jack o lantern #dracula #asj post #I went by Dracula's description near the start of the book. #I didn't want to carve his nose that way but I couldn't get carving it from the back side to work. ...The shape still doesn't come across. #I was thinking about using a black wet-erase marker to color in his hair and the bat. #So that he would have light hair sometimes and dark hair other times. #But when I tested the marker on the bat I realized it blocks the light from shining through. #I also found out wet-erase markers don't erase well on porous things. So there's a tiny black mark on the bat. #There's also some reddish staining on the white part of the pumpkin because I used red marker to make the sketch. #I need to remember for next time to erase the marker after making an initial outline with my x-acto knife. #I probably should've made his eyes' sclera and eyebrows and mustache lighter but was worried about it blending in too much with his irises. #I was thinking of using my red wet-erase marker to make his irises and lips reddish but then I found out light won't shine through the ink. #...I think it looks better in-person... My camera just can't pick up on jack-o-lanterns right. #I got slightly over 1 1/3 cups of pumpkin puree out of these two. Same as last year. ...And maybe around a cup of seeds. #It was easier to cook this time because I didn't add much water. Really hard to cook off water.

God, I finally finished the next chapter of the edssy fic I'm writing and I am ready to crash in bed and sleep in tomorrow before editing and posting it

#i took a break for a week on the portrait i was doing and im back at it again today #tales from diana #the hard part about charcoal is that you have to find out what you're doing AND you have to fight w the charcoal about it #doing a bunch of details in various medium gray shades all right next to each other... hard #the person im drawing has a medium brown complexion and there isn't a lot of dramatic contrast w the lighting #right now everything is still looking flat because charcoal doesn't like to do what i want it to do #it all just wants to blend together #i was fighting w it for a week just trying to get his face right in every particular. the eyes the nose lips forehead everything #the outline of the nose keeps disappearing when im trying to show the difference between the tip of the nose and the cheek #iiiiii had to take a break
