medusas head actually having repercussions was so surprising, i almost cried.
Annabeth was, for the first time, if only a bit, rebelling the gods and the one person she could depend on outside of camp LEADS the monsters towards her. Her face said so many things, and you could tell Percy would never forgive himself for that even tho Annabeth didnt blame him for it.

No, because I've already talked about this to the Discord besties but I'm still vibrating over the fact that Percy didn't just sacrifice himself for Annabeth, he outsmarted her. He tricked her into letting him be the one to stay behind that's such an amazing detail

Okay but what if the reason that Thalia made Annabeth earn her trust and love when they first met is because she doesn’t want to be let down and lose another little sibling? And when she realized that Annabeth could take care of herself, on some level, and wasn’t just a helpless two year old like Jason was, that’s when she accepted Annabeth?

Giving Echnida the possibility of explaining how from her point of view the roles of Demigods and Monsters are switched, is not only another great new interpretation of an antagonist but also opens space for more discussion. Like is there even a good and bad side to demigods and monsters or are they simply to sides of the same coin both made by the gods, both used by the gods, both trying to secure there survival. With Medusa and now Echnida I believe that monsters explaining there own version of the story will be a reoccuring theme in the TV show.

When you suddenly remember a book detail that satyrs can sense emotions which means Grover had to have some kind of warning that Percy was gonna pull that switcharoo stunt.

Everybody is going crazy about mean-Athena™️ allegedly sending monsters after her daughter because her newest buddy and future boyfriend Percy sent Medusas head to the gods just to make a point.
You guys!!! It's Echidna - ECHIDNA - who told Annabeth! ECHIDNA aka Mother of Monsters and your local demigod-hater.
Can't we all agree that there is the possibility that the mommy of all monsters is lying to mess with Annabeth?
Don't get me wrong. Athena is not mother of the year, for sure. But she is the godess of tactical warfare and sending a bunch of monsters after your child just because she is doing typical teenager stuff does not strike me as a particularly clever move.
For those who are way too tired to read all this:

I feel like as the show goes on, Percy is going to realize the gods are more nuanced and complex that he originally thought. like yes, obviously they still suck, but I think if Percy keeps the same kind of hatred for them he has now, it's going to be hard to see Luke as the villain. I'm hoping as we meet more gods (ares not included) we will see them occasionally do good, or at least passable, things. So I'm guessing he'll move to some kind of middle ground between his current perspective on the gods and annabeth's.

so i've been hearing people talk about how the adaptation is going to address the part of the sea of monsters where ares gifts clarisse a ship run by dead confederate soldiers considering who the actors are for annabeth and clarisse herself
and this may be a bit of a controversial take but i think it would actually be really interesting if they included that detail in the show since we can already see in season 1 they've been emphasizing how generally shitty the gods are to their children (i'm specifically thinking of what athena did in ep 4). and since we know from the books clarisse and ares don't exactly have the best relationship i think this would be another way of exploring just how morally flawed the gods really are. imo it would be a subtle/not-so-subtle for newer younger fans and older fans respectively that there is no clear good and evil between the gods and titans its more of a lesser of two evils situation (which would also go with how the show is being written in a way that monsters aren't just mindless evil creatures like with medusa in the sense that luke isn't entirely wrong in his philosophy, a sentiment that percy ends up agreeing with more and more as time goes on)
anyways this is the result of my shower thoughts sooo enjoy ig

I get that the ending was like a narrative cut off but bro that was so short n abrupt 😭 guess they just wanted to focus on the arch sequence as it’s own thing? start with Percy having no faith in his father and end with him having a son of Poseidon moment
what they had with the main three’s characterizations and especially the percabeth interactions was really good I was digging it, it was just so abrupt compared to the other three

"That's step 37, were still on step 4"
I get that, if it won't affect me within the next five minutes that's a future me issue, I'll deal with that when we get to step 42.

You wanna know what had my dying in the newest Percy Jackson episode… when Sally was basically was telling Percy to listen to her at the swimming lesson in Percy flashback and he told her to just breath…
My mom would have murdered me if i said to her, while she was telling me off for not listening to her, to just breath.
