First of all, I AM NOT the authors/writers of these fics. I DO NOT own any of these amazing fanfictions. I WILL NOT repost these fanfics without authorization. I will only recommend them to you. If you find that it is inappropriate to recommend the fanfic here. Please let me know, I will delete it immediately.
The link (if there is any) will only lead to the fanfictions that the authors/writers posted themselves, such as AO3, Lofter, Weibo, their personal websites, etc. After much deliberation, I will only share the author's personal website link via private message.
I will try my best to provide the link, but some fanfictions are quite old and difficult to track down. However, if you are really interested to read that fic, you can search it directly on web browser. Since I couldn't confirm the authorization and because of the strict rules, I can't share it here.
The fic recs here are based on my personal preferences. Everyone has their own standard and level of acceptance. So, please be considerate. It is also because of this matter that a warning is needed to serve as a precaution, I have no intention to offense anyone. I will put a warning if it is necessary, but I will not give any OOC warnings (unless the author/writer said it themselves). If you think there is something more to add on, feel free to tell me.
Most of the fic recs here are probably in Chinese, of course it does not mean that I am against English fics. It is all the same as long as it suits my taste and also it is no secret that there is a lot of food in Chinese fandom.
Chinese fanfiction is different than English fanfiction, sometimes there is no summary, no tags, and the rating is basically just "no R", "with R", or "high R". Therefore, I added some additional details that were intended only for better understanding of what you are going to read and I by no means have any intention to disrespect anyone, especially the authors/writers.
Please note that I cannot speak Chinese (but it didn't stop me lol). I just like to wander in Chinese fandom and desperately use machine translation apps to read. That being said, it is hard for me to completely capture the real nuances of a fanfic in Chinese language, I may only understand the gist or the vibe with my reading comprehension. So, if there is any weird translation, misinterpretation, and misunderstanding, forgive me in advance. Maybe you can kindly help me to fix it :)
I hope someone will translate them properly someday, and of course with their permissions >.<
I will only recommend the fics that I have read before. So, if you want to suggest a fanfiction it will take some time to put it here, although I doubt anyone would even read this blog haha. If there is any, thank you!

No one seems to care about my preferences, but due to the huge difference between Daomu Biji Chinese fandom and English-speaker fandom (it seems the attribute is important in Chinese fandom), I feel like to explain it here just in case to avoid misunderstanding.
I am PingXie Only, which means that I do not ship (or recommend) any ship/cp(s) who tear PingXie apart, and I do not accept switching either. My attitude towards other cp(s) are basically neutral or to put it bluntly I don't really care, anyway it is normal to have different preferences and opinions, but please do not cross the line and cause unnecessary trouble, everyone respects each other like an adult should be.
In my understanding, โ็ถ้ชๆด็โ in Chinese fandom is very strict, more stricter than PingXie Only, therefore I think I am just โonlyโ. I have my own judgement to decide which fics I want to recommend, regardless of the writer's attribute. I think it doesn't matter as long as it is tagged properly, do not insult the characters or people, and do not cross my limit of tolerance and acceptance. That's it, the most important of shipping a ship/cp is to be happy :)

Is there a dmbj fandom space of sort that's... Not focused on Liu Chang characters? Or to put a positive angle on it, I'd love to talk about dmbj canon and its characters and their on page/screen interactions or how the books and sites compare but I'm not really sure where to do that? Do you have a discord or tumblr tag or blog suggestions? (Or if that doesn't exist, this is a marker of interest if you make one. I think there's actually if nothing else a lot of people in this fandom who are interested in pingxie who don't know where to go to talk to each other because it seems like most of the fandom spaces apart from the yucun discord are pretty dead)
hi anon! iโm both glad and sad you asked because i get that feeling and iโm sorry to say thereโsโฆ not really much of a good answer i can give you ๐ซ though i can offer the start of one at least
a lot of the problem is the people youโre talking about, for reasons i donโt fully understand myself, have come to take up most of the visibility in the public fandom spaces to almost the exclusion of anyone and everything else. this is definitely a hot and likely unpopular take, but itโs gotten to the point where ironically (as far as the english speaking fandom goes at least, the chinese fandom is very different) in some respects, pingxie has become something of a โrarerโ pair these days by comparison to ships involving more minor characters, particularly ones involving the characters you mentioned, and i find wu xie and xiaoge themselves are less talked about outside of the context of those ships than the characters you mentioned as a whole. and this isnโt a post meant to dunk on those particular interests, just my opinion on what the dmbj fandom is like at this point in time. the issue is, like you said, it leaves the people who aren't interested in that lost and with no one to talk to despite i'm sure there being a lot of us that would love a place to actively engage with each other
as far as places to talk about pingxie and the dmbj canon in general outside of that, in my experience tumblr doesnโt have all that much to offer apart from a few isolated people unfortunately. just checking the main tags tells you as much, but there are a few people. but i also know tumblr isnโt necessarily the best space for genuine conversations as i get the feeling thatโs more what youโre looking for (correct me if iโm wrong). thereโs a bit more going on on twitter, but itโs also fairly marginal and it also depends on what it is you want to talk about (and also, itโs twitter).
for discord servers, i can suggest 3 options, two of which iโm sure youโve probably heard of:
the โdmbj (็ๅข็ฌ่ฎฐ)โ server (https://discord.gg/xjTSVdUP), which was the original server created before the yucun one was and is technically the largest one (the yucun discord server actually broke off from it in part to be a space more dedicated to liu sang and liu chang characters and eventually became the fandomโs most active hub). fair warning, itโs pretty dead in the sense most of the minimal talk that goes on there isnโt really about dmbj at all, and is more generally drama-oriented. itโs also not strictly dedicated to pingxie
the โdmbj book-centric fun timesโ server (https://discord.com/invite/z7ZNNEbv3P), which as its name suggests, is book-oriented rather than drama-oriented. itโs also pretty dead apart from one or two sporadic posts from time to time, which i see as partly the consequence of a good chunk of the dmbj fandom either not having read the books or not particularly caring about them by comparison to other things. that being said, if enough people went there, iโm sure it could be more active. this one is also not strictly dedicated to pingxie
the โ็ๅข็ฌ่ฎฐ - changbai mountainโ server, which is going to be my biased suggestion as itโs a tiny server started somewhat recently by myself and a couple of other friends who felt the same and wanted to try and create a safe space to talk about pingxie (and other ships if relevant, though by this i mostly mean heihua for now) and the dmbj canon and its characters as a whole. itโs very small atm and as active as it can be given that, and while itโs open to anyone interested, because of previous experiences with some people in the fandom, i would need you to get off anon and dm me if you (or anyone else reading this) is interested (as long as youโre comfortable with that ofc) as i donโt necessarily feel comfortable posting a public invite. for the record, anyone interested is very welcome to dm, we really do need more alternative fandom spaces
iโm sorry i canโt help more anon, but i hope this is something of an ok answer even if itโs not the best one

...is it weird to say I don't know? O_o;;; Like, I generally go through a few weeks where there's exactly one snack I want, then I don't eat it again for months as I move on to the next snack. I don't really have one consistent favorite. Though currently I'm enjoying American cheese and apples? (Not together, just those two snacks. XD) And toast with butter. (I should clarify, it's specifically this sprouted barley bread that I found at my local supermarket that is AMAZING and I'm obsessed. *_*)
sweetheart - favorite mug/cup?
OK SO. THESE ALSO ROTATE AND I HOPE I HAVE PICTURES SOMEWHERE BUT. I AM SO MUG OBSESSED. ๐๐๐
So I have five current favorites that I'm rotating between.
One is a Weilan mug of chibi-fied versions of them enacting the angry handkerchief scene (from taobao).
One is a mug with Xiaoge surrounded by little gold fish that ARE JUST PRETTY AND HAVE NO MEANING WHATSOEVER.
One is a really sweet Pingxie kiss.

And the other two are mugs I made myself that have my newest favorite glaze pattern on them. ^_^ (And yes, I made the little plate, too. ^_^)

I'm prone to getting a tunnel-vision when I'm fixated on something, so currently nothing beats Pingxie, but Hualian is always right up there around the top of the list.

It's kind of a tossup between LotR and HP. I've known and loved LotR since I was five, but only really started to discover fandom as a concept when I got into HP, so of course these two were the first I looked up.

Ah, Les Misรฉrables. Sure, some parts of the fandom are kinda bad for my blood-pressure, but there's a nice canon-era focused, research-happy nieche I really enjoy. I still follow some blogs from there even if I don't really interact with the fandom anymore.

I have fallen into the endless abyss which is DMBJ. I love the iron triangle, they are friend goals personified. I am a Pingxie shipper but I do love some Pangzi mixed in as well.
I have watched most of the drama adaptations but I have not read the books. I am in the beginning stages of reading those.
This blog will focus on the dramas mostly with some meta posts on my favourite tropes and the scenes which stayed with me.

Two random DMBJ headcanons that may or may not be related:
Xiaoge is afraid of flying. He never sets foot in airplanes and takes trains/ cars/ boats or hitchhikes wherever he needs to go.
Hei Xiazi has a flying license from like, 1942, but can figure out how to operate most machines. He even once stole Xiao Hua's brand new jet and managed to land it safely back after a little joyride.
The former might be due to the latter ๐คทโโ๏ธ

IM SCREAMING
So anyway I Love new Louis
Gonna go on a ramble for a moment now. I also Love that the show is dropping some of Lestats backstory (from his book) clearly much earlier. And how Louis is framing it as they actually became close friends first, before him suddenly finding out about the vampire thing and getting changed. As he says, he was seduced over time, and I enjoy watching it.
I think the change to a slow seduction of human BEFORE turning Louis fits well in the modern world of post human/vampire romance galore we are currently in, as there's more desire for that slow exploration in some ways. In another way, I think this initial relationship presentation screams the kind of tension of characters like Aziraphale/Crowley had in Good Omens. Oh the line "we are very good friends." In some show of the past, 10 or 20 years ago, that might be subtext but. Here it's absolutely loaded with meaning. Louis is narrating to make it clear he likes men, that he liked Lestat and felt seduced, and of course Louis's sister asking to meet Lestat mirrors her bringing her fiance to dinner the same night. These are all significantly large changes from the book, and yet I am enjoying that it aims to hit the sweet spot of mortal/immortal romance, of friends to lovers High tension (that so many 10 year ago shows capitalized on as subtext only but this show so thickly intensely is using for overt romance). So of course, it changes the feeling of their dynamic to very romance heavy (which like yeah it was but in the book Louis is initially grieving and depressed and that outweighs any other main feeling). As I've mentioned, I'm seeing this as an AU take where things may vastly diverge. And so i can see and appreciate this particular diversion, which appeals to a lot of more modern vampire genre trends then twists them back into the densely rich relationship Louis and Lestat originally had. So it adds this layer I think modern vampire romance often lacks of slow build tension, and very heavy tension as this is adults with many responsibilities and pains weighing on them - no longer teenagers in first love (but which Buffy did a bit, and which pingxie in dmbj actually appeals to me for similar reason).
And then also. The show brings some aspects or Louis from the book into deeper highlight than the old movie (even though of course some of Louis's backstory and initial time period are hugely changed). His close relationship wirh his sister is HERE, which I loved in the book and how he cared for her and stayed close to her even as a vampire (which may be the case in the show moving forward). How Paul was so important to Louis and someone Louis feels personally responsible for and intensely close to (which the old movie skipped). I also noticed the Freniere name drop with the sisters fiance! So one may expect at somr point Freniere is going to do something stupid, he may well have a sister Babette who Louis gets to know, and Freniere may well do something "cruel" which Lestat wants to hunt and kill him for. (While the old movie had Lestat as evil killer, its learned in later books he likes to kill humans who are killers, so given this show is mentioning some of Lestats family childhood and parents, it may well let the audience know this preference of Lestat with hunting much earlier than the books).
And then just. An interesting choice to me to keep Louis in the dark about Lestat being a vampire for a while. Just an interesting change to watch. So far I enjoy seeing all the unique sort of alternate ways these characters are being used. It does feel very much alternate universe, with a certain care to retain some portion of their core traits while seeing how changed setting/time period affects others.
Also the "I was going to St Louis, but it seems I was meant to go to the person not the place." Is sappy as all fuck but I kind of loved it

WIP Tag Game
Thank you for the tag @killerandhealerqueen (I keep wanting to write your AO3 name lol)
1. Space AU/healing pod malfunction prompt from my bingo card which is the very last prompt so I can mark it officially done once I have it posted. Itโs for Pingxie from dmbj as Wu Xie has been removed as the heir from his family before gaining his own crew. All of them are outcasts from random parts of the universe. A large part of it is going to be angsty along the lines of injury and dealing with a lot of emotions, etc. I am somewhat close to finishing it which I am hoping to have it posted maybe by the end of the week. So far, I am at 4392 words but Iโm not for sure how long it is actually going to be depends on how far I get with writing the thoughts that are running through my head.
2. Black Ops Kim Ga On cause of the movie Yaksha: Ruthless Operations that Jinyoung is in. I have yet to start working on the ideas for this, but that most likely is going to happen after I finish my bingo card.
3. Late writing challenge - head wound for Gahan which is a year after the Kangs go to Switzerland which causes him to become a case of amnesia. Yohan finds out that he is hurt making his way back to help Ga On. Angst, threats, and exploring those hidden feelings while he slowly gets his memories back. Another thing that I have yet to start.
I donโt have too many WIPs at the moment, but once I start tacking those other writing challenges etc that I need to work on. These are the recent ones that I have so far though xd.

I was not looking forward to this section but I think some of you need to chill. Please. We're here to have fun. This may be a hard pill to swallow but sometimes you gotta accept that people didn't ask. They didn't ask for shipping opinions, they didn't ask for watchlists, they didn't ask to have the same fandom experiences as you. And sometimes things that are canon are worse. There's more to a show than romance and more to romance than two conventionally attractive people making eye contact. Thank you.

My dear friend my beloved thank you for giving me another opportunity to dump more of this bullshit on you.
Blorbo: Pangzi my beloved my everything. He's supposed to be the fat guy comic relief but carries the series honestly.
Skrunkly: I'd say Zhang Rishan but just the bright eyed young man he is in Mystic Nine, not yet the Juimen President and weirdo that he is in Tomb of the Sea. Off topic but it's very important to me that I tell you about this one scene from Tomb of the Sea in which he and Liang Wan, a miraculously still alive female character and his love interest are leaving the desert and she tells him "hey I'm still kinda in love with you" to which he responds "sorry. I've dedicated my life to Fo Ye, my dead boss from the 1930s." And then she blasts him with pepper spray. In the desert.
Scrimblo bimblo: Ba Ye. This funky little man. I've only had him for three episodes of Mystic Nine and I love him.
Glup shitto: Kanjian!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know what has made my brain latch onto that slingshot himbo but I don't care. Highlights include teaching Wu Xie how to use a slingshot so he can cheat on a test and a guy dragging him into a meeting like "hey I found this guy outside can we keep him?"
Poor little meow meow: Wang Can I guess. He's an asshole but by god was he fun. And Hei Xiazi, who only falls under the pathetic category.
Horse plinko: Liu Sang. He gets whumped to hell and back and we love to see it.
Eeby deeby: Oh absolutely Chen Pi. I've only had him for three episodes of Mystic Nine and I hate him. The living embodiment of "I also choose this guy's dead wife" and a freak (derogatory) among freaks (affectionate). Crimes include wanting to fuck his master's wife and putting Zhang Qiling in a basket.

10 Things to do in Jiufen Old Street: A Day Trip from Taipei
Jiufen Old Street (ไนไปฝ่่ก) in Taipei
An hour bus ride outside of Tawanโs capital city, this famous village shows a glimpse of northern Taiwan and Taiwanese life outside of the city. Beautiful tea houses, alleys full of food, interesting gift shops, hundreds and hundreds of red lanterns, you could experience how the Jiufen Old Street is always packed with visitors and locals.
Aboutย Jiufen Old Street (ไนไปฝ่่ก)
Jiufen is a small village in the mountains and next to the water, located an hour's drive from Taipei. Rumor has it that Jiufen is actually the village inspired in the โSpirited Awayโ Hayao Miyazaki movie (2001). True or not, the village does look similar to it!ย
How to get to Jiufen from Taipei
Since Jiufen Old Street is a popular tourist place, you can use a public shuttle bus or by taxi or even signing up with a tour.ย Remember to always use Google Maps for navigating in Taiwan!
By Train and Busย
Take the MRT blue line to Zhongxiao Fuxing Station Exit 1, then take bus #1062 to Jiufen Old Street Station. Check the bus 1062 timetable here.ย

(Bus 1062 goes directly from Taipeiโs Zhongsxiao Fuxing MTR all the way to the entrance of Jiufen Old Street. If you are taking the train, please note that the station is Ruifang.)
Or you could take a taxi.
How to go back to Taipei (from Jiufen Old Street)
You can take the Keelung bus 1062 back to Taipei for about a 1hr15min ride. The bus stops in front of Zhong Xiao Fuxing MRT or just take the bus to Rui Fang Station.ย
Thingsย to do in Jiufen Old Street
1.) See the water and Keelung Mountain
When you first arrive at the โJiufen Old Streetโ destination, the bus or taxi will likely be on a sharp-cornered hill. You will need to walk up the hill, where youโll see many other visitors and locals with market stands or gift shops.ย
That is the green Keelung Mountain, the huge orange-roofed Hร Hแบฃi Thร nh Hoร ng Miแบฟu Temple, and as you walk up the hill, you can see the Shenโao Elephant-Trunk-shaped peninsula out in the sea.
2.) Walk through Jiufen Old Street โDark Alleyโ Markets and Gift Shops
As mentioned above, when you first arrive, you will have to walk up a hill lined with markets. The alleys will be jam-packed with people (or it was during the Chinese New Year when I went!) since it is the main thing to see in Jiufen. Walking through the food and gift shops in the โDark Alleyโ is how to get to the famous Jiufen Teahouse!ย ย ย
3.) See the famous Lantern Tea House
After you walk through the alley of markets, youโll find the famous Jiufen Tea house!ย
4.) Drink Tea, Coffee, or Eat Snacks in a Tea House
From the tea house windows or balcony (on Shuqi Road) of the tea house, you can enjoy the tall views of Keelung Mountain, the sea, or Jiufen village. A-Mei Teahouse is pictured above. I heard that you have to make a reservation online since it is one of the most famous tea houses. I just went to another tea house on this road.
5.)ย Look at All the Masks and Other Interesting Shops!
6.) See the Taipei Sweet Potato & Mining Tunnels
7.) Buy some gifts or snacks in the shops!ย
While I was walking through the alley and gift shops, I saw a variety of bags, magnets, key chains, pens, wooden-carved Taiwanese souvenirs, everything Taiwanese you could ever imagine. Since I didnโt have much room in my backpack for souvenirs, I only bought the Taiwanese pineapple cakes.ย ย
Jiufen Old Street can be explored in two or three hours, here are a few other destinations you can visit nearby Jiufen! Personally, I did not visit these places below, but I wish to visit them in the future:
ย 8.) Send Your Wishes in Lanterns to the Skies in Pingxi
Probably crowded all the time, locals and tourists can stand on the villageย train tracks to release their sky lanterns, filled with their wishes.ย Pingxiย is mainlyย popular for the sky lantern festival, where you can see hundreds of lanterns lit in the sky; and itโs becoming more eco-friendly or eco-conscious. 9.) Find the Shenโao Elephant Trunk Rock in Keelung City
I didnโt visit Keelung, yet, but I wish to find the Shenโao Elephant Trunk Rock, and go into the small city to see the Shiqiuling Pingan Temple, Shiqiuling Fort,ย Fo Guang Shan Ji Le Temple,ย Maritime Plaza, andย Wangyougu. (Source: Google Maps)
10.) Shifen Waterfall
I didnโt visit Shifen Waterfall, yet, but I wish to see the waterfalls and green scenery here!ย (Source: Google Maps)
