First of all, I AM NOT the authors/writers of these fics. I DO NOT own any of these amazing fanfictions. I WILL NOT repost these fanfics without authorization. I will only recommend them to you. If you find that it is inappropriate to recommend the fanfic here. Please let me know, I will delete it immediately.
The link (if there is any) will only lead to the fanfictions that the authors/writers posted themselves, such as AO3, Lofter, Weibo, their personal websites, etc. After much deliberation, I will only share the author's personal website link via private message.
I will try my best to provide the link, but some fanfictions are quite old and difficult to track down. However, if you are really interested to read that fic, you can search it directly on web browser. Since I couldn't confirm the authorization and because of the strict rules, I can't share it here.
The fic recs here are based on my personal preferences. Everyone has their own standard and level of acceptance. So, please be considerate. It is also because of this matter that a warning is needed to serve as a precaution, I have no intention to offense anyone. I will put a warning if it is necessary, but I will not give any OOC warnings (unless the author/writer said it themselves). If you think there is something more to add on, feel free to tell me.
Most of the fic recs here are probably in Chinese, of course it does not mean that I am against English fics. It is all the same as long as it suits my taste and also it is no secret that there is a lot of food in Chinese fandom.
Chinese fanfiction is different than English fanfiction, sometimes there is no summary, no tags, and the rating is basically just "no R", "with R", or "high R". Therefore, I added some additional details that were intended only for better understanding of what you are going to read and I by no means have any intention to disrespect anyone, especially the authors/writers.
Please note that I cannot speak Chinese (but it didn't stop me lol). I just like to wander in Chinese fandom and desperately use machine translation apps to read. That being said, it is hard for me to completely capture the real nuances of a fanfic in Chinese language, I may only understand the gist or the vibe with my reading comprehension. So, if there is any weird translation, misinterpretation, and misunderstanding, forgive me in advance. Maybe you can kindly help me to fix it :)
I hope someone will translate them properly someday, and of course with their permissions >.<
I will only recommend the fics that I have read before. So, if you want to suggest a fanfiction it will take some time to put it here, although I doubt anyone would even read this blog haha. If there is any, thank you!
No regular updates.
This is my first time doing something like this. If there are some small changes here and there, sorry for the inconvenience. Any suggestions are welcome :D
Last but not least, this blog is PingXie ONLY ใ็ถ้ชONLYใ.
๐ชท๐๐ซ๐ธ๐พ๐ฝ ๐๐ฎ๐ชท
No one seems to care about my preferences, but due to the huge difference between Daomu Biji Chinese fandom and English-speaker fandom (it seems the attribute is important in Chinese fandom), I feel like to explain it here just in case to avoid misunderstanding.
I am PingXie Only, which means that I do not ship (or recommend) any ship/cp(s) who tear PingXie apart, and I do not accept switching either. My attitude towards other cp(s) are basically neutral or to put it bluntly I don't really care, anyway it is normal to have different preferences and opinions, but please do not cross the line and cause unnecessary trouble, everyone respects each other like an adult should be.
In my understanding, โ็ถ้ชๆด็โ in Chinese fandom is very strict, more stricter than PingXie Only, therefore I think I am just โonlyโ. I have my own judgement to decide which fics I want to recommend, regardless of the writer's attribute. I think it doesn't matter as long as it is tagged properly, do not insult the characters or people, and do not cross my limit of tolerance and acceptance. That's it, the most important of shipping a ship/cp is to be happy :)

hey! hi! it's been a very long time since i stopped taking promptsโalmost three years, in fact. the how and why of it really isn't that importantโwhat's important is that i've decided i'll be taking prompts again! here's some basic rules for what sorts of prompts i'll take, and what you can expect to get in return.
what you can prompt me for and expect:
fandoms: daomu biji/the grave robbers' chronicles (novels and live actions)
relationship types: both romantic and gen
characters: any* dmbj character
prompt types: any type; dialogue, au idea, etc
ratings: gen to mature
length: 1k+
what i won't write or accept in prompts:
explicit sexual content
liu sang (this is for everyone's happiness, trust me)
wu xie and li cu as a romantic pairing
americanisations (ie, transposing the characters into an american setting for, for example, a college au)
this list is subject to possible updating in the future, so if you're ever uncertain, either click into the original post, or send me an askโi'll do my best to answer any questions!
with tumblr dying, do you know of any open discord communities for danmei and cnovels?
Hey hey!
The only public fandom server I'm part of for Chinese media (...virtually the only public fandom server I'm in at all, and my personal main hang-out spot on Discord...) is @merinnan et al's Daomu Biji server.
It's the nicest, chillest, most welcoming public fandom server I've ever been in - not that we haven't had our moments of drama, but they've been rare, and I've always felt comfortable there - and I've made a lot of friends too. That said, if you're not into DMBJ and/or as obsessed with Zhu Yilong as I am, I can't imagine it'd be a great fit.
Also, so - I'm @unforth, and my day job is that I own and operate an indie micropress, Duck Prints Press, that publishes original work by fanartists and fanauthors. As part of that, I and the staff involved with that run a "Book Lover's" Discord server. While it's sort of a combo "about the Press" and "about all queer books" and "about whatever we feel like talking about" server, we do end up talking about danmei a fair amount because multiple of the people involved in the Press, including obviously me, are into that kind of thing. Like we do a weekly chat on Wednesday about what we're reading and yesterday's was like, "here's one mlm YA book! here's a thriller in Dutch! here's the Yuri manga I just read! And here are the eighteen bajillion things we're all currently reading on Bilibili oh and I started Poyun." You're certainly welcome to join us. What we talk about there really boils down to what the people who are there want to talk about, ya know?
About a million years ago, I started building a cnovelartreblogs Discord server myself, but I've been so frackin busy the last couple years that I've never managed to finish setting it up the way I'd like. That said, it's got penciled in rules and channels for some of the more popular cnovel fandoms (mostly danmei, tho there is a Please Don't Laugh section). If I could get help moderating it, I could open it.
I just really don't have the ability to do it myself anymore, my days right now are like:
wake up
scroll tumblr and do upkeep on the art side blogs (while sitting with my kids and helping them get ready for the day) (1.5 hrs or so)
study Chinese (while sitting with my kids and helping them get ready for the day (.5 hrs, tho I wish it was more, if I can manage more than 30 minutes then I can actually try reading a real damn book but I only have the time maybe once or twice a month)
work (7 to 8 hours on weekdays, often more on the weekends, bonus if my kids are around and my wife is at work, such as tomorrow)
try to be a good mom (all the hours)
errands, chores, kid after school activities, etc. (1 to 3 hours a day)
read while snuggling kids on the couch and trying to ignore the tv (an hour if I'm lucky)
sleep (8ish hours, I hope)
there's just no wiggle room left for me to do any extra fandom stuff right now, sigh.
(sorry to whine about that part. it's not relevant. I just got my covid booster yesterday and I feel terrible today so I'm feeling sorry for myself. it's truly not a bad life overall I'm just perpetually exhausted)
As it looks like more people are moving over to tumblr or moving back, and Iโve had a few new people follow me here, I guess I should put up a โwho is silver sunโ post.
I am I guess a fandom old now as Iโm a few years into my 40s.
All my fic (and old art, I donโt really do any anymore) can be found on ao3 here
silver sun is the name Iโve participated in fandom with since 2006.
Iโd lurked and read fandom stuff from about 2000 onwards - mainly Highlander: the series.
In 2006 series one of Torchwood aired, and before the series was even half way Iโd posted my first fic.
All this was on live journal - in the days before AO3 existed and html coding your fics so the formatting worked and you could use bold or italics in your posts was a thing.
Torchwood was my fandom home for pretty much the next 8 years. Including running comms and a couple of big bangs on livejournal after the fandom imploded after Children of Earth.
Other fandoms Iโve written in are: Primeval, Doctor Who, Being Human, Rivers of London, Johnathan Strange and Mr Norrell, and Good Omens.
Currently, since about September โ19 my fandom had been MDZS - this is the first time Iโve been in a not British sci-fi/fantasy fandom (Iโm in the UK and I never really got into much in the way of US tv)
Netflix kept recommending The Untamed to me. But I didnโt have time to watch. So I found the Exiled Rebels translation and spent many commutes to and from work on the bus reading it. It did then watch the Untamed.
MDZS has led me to watch/read a number of other shows including Daomu Biji and sleuth of the Ming dynasty - and because it was on the same app, Beyond Evil.
Iโve read fic in all these, but havenโt yet got anything Iโve written finished and posted for these.
For pretty much all fandoms Iโve been in I ship quite a few different pairings, ranging from the popular to the โthereโs literally only 1 person in the fandom who writes itโ
I tend to read the same kind of things as I write - canon (or canon divergent) setting, hurt/comfort and case fic. I been known to write kink fic too - but Iโve not written any for years at this point - all of it was in Torchwood & Primeval fandoms.
Iโm planning on being around the MDZS fandom for quite a while longer - Iโve got plenty of things I want to write (time to do it is whatโs lacking)
So thatโs me.
I occasionally post a bit of irl stuff here - cooking or camping photos mostly.
I donโt have any side blogs, all my stuff on tumblr is all on this.
Hello. Due to my penchant for increasingly cryptic bios, here's some additional information to help you decide whether to follow this blog:
I mostly reblog and occasionally make a personal or funny (?) post
Reblogs are usually about 70% random crap and 30% fandom
I'm learning Mandarin and lately also Cantonese (again)! Not a langblr or whatever but it's a topic that comes up :)
Doing my best to stay out of discourse and succeeding most of the time
I'm here, I'm queer, I'm really fucking weird
Oh yes there will be neurodivergence and chronic illness blogging
Who else has been mostly trapped in their homes since before the pandemic? High five! ๐ซ
Since German is my native language, I like to occasionally ramble about differences between German and English. Accents and languages are a special interest
I've given up on using warning tags except for the most egregious stuff and so far no one's complained, but do let me know if there's something you need tagged
I fell into several Chinese media fandoms on entirely separate occasions and just kinda live here now I guess; I like Cantopop a normal amount (lying) and have been watching almost nothing but c-dramas for two years, a significant percentage of which was Daomu Biji adaptations
Favourite older fandoms include Star Trek (especially DS9), Good Omens, Doctor Who, BSG and BBC Merlin. My favourite movie is Rosencrantz And Guildenstern Are Dead
I've been trying to read the Southern Reach series but unfortunately I can't read
I seem to have some new followers who might not be bots?? Given the state of my blog these days, let me quickly mention some tombs:
I've been very into Daomu Biji (the lost tomb) these days. If you found this post but somehow don't know what this tomb media is about, it's a chaotic series of somewhat related television shows and books that are roughly what if Indiana Jones was Chinese and had two husbands. (If you want to get into these, check out the useful intro post here.) If you're trying to find/avoid this tomb content, I'm consistently tagging "dmbj" (and you can also check out my vids)
I also (semi?) recently read Nona the Ninth, the third in the locked tomb series of books by Tamsyn Muir, which I've been doing some blogging about (for maximal tomb confusion). You may have run into these described as "lesbian necromancers in space" (which is not the most helpful description but I'm not doing better right now, apart from noting that tasmuir was big in the homestuck fandom back in the day). If you're trying to find/avoid this tomb content, I'm consistently tagging "locked tomb" (and have been attempting to tag "nona the ninth spoilers" if you would like to find 2/3 of this tomb content)

I've seen a lot of writers in the fandom lately mention their writing or inspiration playlists for specific characters or pairings, or even their individual fics!
And we all know the stars of the various DMBJ adaptations have lent their voices to some amazing OST songs; So what is everybody listening to when they want that perfect vibe for writing, creating, or just having feelings about Zhang Qiling?
Reblog and share your favorites! Link or post your own playlists and recs! What should we all be listening to?
(now is the time to share your secret Wu Erbai theme, or list of Hei Xiazi's favorite power ballads. Kan Jian's workout tunes. Ah-Ning's Hot Girl Summer soundtrack. Wang Meng's ABBA addiction or the best classical pieces for tomb raiding)

Every time I see a "Wei Wuxian isn't morally gray!" post I kinda want to interpret it as "He's morally black!" Because the alternative is to believe that so fucking many of you read "Wei Wuxian forced Wen Chao to self-cannibalize his legs" and went "this is a morally white action because I like Wei Wuxian and I don't like Wen Chao and also Wen Chao was mean first" and like literally drive me to despair that I share a fandom with so many people who think that's completely okay because Wen Chao was a bad guy so any level of harm to him is justifiable.

Saw a pic that reminded me of my favorite head-canon-i-forget-isnt-canon for TGCF.
Hua Cheng chose the San Lang form because that's how he wishes he looked when he first met Xie Lian. Like, Xie Lian is 17, a prince, an amazing martial artist, dressed in the finest robes in the kingdom of Xianle which specifically esteems luxe stuff. And fucking Hua Cheng has to meet him as a ratty little bandaged boy who just fell off a building. Way to fuck up the meet cute huh?
So when he gets a second third fourth look ive lost count okay chance to meet his idol he's had 800 years to imagine how he wishes it could have gone. And he ends up having two competing fantasies:
Fantasy 1: the suave mysterious stranger who sweeps Xie Lian off his feet and leaves him wanting more.
Fantasy 2: the sweet good-looking boy next door, about the same age, knowledgeable enough to impress this prince who's strengths are physical and social.
And Hua Cheng, being the extra ghost king he is, decides - ยฟporque no los dos? - and enacts BOTH those fantasies.
(Something something not all eggs in one basket?)
And that's why San Lang Looks Like That.

My #1 post of 2022
Sometimes I think this is the darkest timeline and then I see the New York Times literally sharing Goncharov fanart
(art is credited to Elena Asofsky, no idea what their Tumblr name is, sorry. Article is here.)
...and I realize that the timeline can always get darker. (but it will never be as dark as the end of Goncharov, wtf was up with that?)
I'm still struggling to keep the queue for this blog active, and I've got two other art side blogs that I'm also struggling to keep active - @zhenhunartreblogs and @dmbjartreblogs. Neither fandom produces quite enough artwork to maintain a one-post-a-day rate, and I no longer have time to go hunting through art blogs trying to find old stuff.
With that in mind, I'm going to fold both side blogs into this one.
What that means short term is that I'll just start rebloging Zhenhun/Guardian and DMBJ/Daomu Biji/The Lost Tomb art to this blog instead of those.
Long term, I'll start reblogging the content in each of those side blogs to here, and deleting the posts there, until both are empty, and then I'll delete them. (Combined, they have about 3,000 posts).
Don't worry, I don't possibly have time to inundate this blog with all that content at once, and I'll work first on getting this queue stocked with a variety of fandoms so it doesn't just become suddenly "here are 500 reblogs of Shen Wei and Wu Xie."
