First of all, I AM NOT the authors/writers of these fics. I DO NOT own any of these amazing fanfictions. I WILL NOT repost these fanfics without authorization. I will only recommend them to you. If you find that it is inappropriate to recommend the fanfic here. Please let me know, I will delete it immediately.

The link (if there is any) will only lead to the fanfictions that the authors/writers posted themselves, such as AO3, Lofter, Weibo, their personal websites, etc. After much deliberation, I will only share the author's personal website link via private message.

I will try my best to provide the link, but some fanfictions are quite old and difficult to track down. However, if you are really interested to read that fic, you can search it directly on web browser. Since I couldn't confirm the authorization and because of the strict rules, I can't share it here.

The fic recs here are based on my personal preferences. Everyone has their own standard and level of acceptance. So, please be considerate. It is also because of this matter that a warning is needed to serve as a precaution, I have no intention to offense anyone. I will put a warning if it is necessary, but I will not give any OOC warnings (unless the author/writer said it themselves). If you think there is something more to add on, feel free to tell me.

Most of the fic recs here are probably in Chinese, of course it does not mean that I am against English fics. It is all the same as long as it suits my taste and also it is no secret that there is a lot of food in Chinese fandom.

Chinese fanfiction is different than English fanfiction, sometimes there is no summary, no tags, and the rating is basically just "no R", "with R", or "high R". Therefore, I added some additional details that were intended only for better understanding of what you are going to read and I by no means have any intention to disrespect anyone, especially the authors/writers.

Please note that I cannot speak Chinese (but it didn't stop me lol). I just like to wander in Chinese fandom and desperately use machine translation apps to read. That being said, it is hard for me to completely capture the real nuances of a fanfic in Chinese language, I may only understand the gist or the vibe with my reading comprehension. So, if there is any weird translation, misinterpretation, and misunderstanding, forgive me in advance. Maybe you can kindly help me to fix it :)

I hope someone will translate them properly someday, and of course with their permissions >.<

I will only recommend the fics that I have read before. So, if you want to suggest a fanfiction it will take some time to put it here, although I doubt anyone would even read this blog haha. If there is any, thank you!

No one seems to care about my preferences, but due to the huge difference between Daomu Biji Chinese fandom and English-speaker fandom (it seems the attribute is important in Chinese fandom), I feel like to explain it here just in case to avoid misunderstanding.

I am PingXie Only, which means that I do not ship (or recommend) any ship/cp(s) who tear PingXie apart, and I do not accept switching either. My attitude towards other cp(s) are basically neutral or to put it bluntly I don't really care, anyway it is normal to have different preferences and opinions, but please do not cross the line and cause unnecessary trouble, everyone respects each other like an adult should be.

In my understanding, “瓶邪洁癖” in Chinese fandom is very strict, more stricter than PingXie Only, therefore I think I am just “only”. I have my own judgement to decide which fics I want to recommend, regardless of the writer's attribute. I think it doesn't matter as long as it is tagged properly, do not insult the characters or people, and do not cross my limit of tolerance and acceptance. That's it, the most important of shipping a ship/cp is to be happy :)

ZHANG DADDY RISHAN!!!!!!!!! 😭😭😭😭

Ok I’m about to be so sad about him for a minute cause FUCK ok FUCK that’s!!!! He was raised by fo ye!!!!! Look at him, there’s so much fo ye in him!!!!! Kan Jian comes to work for him and zhang daddy rishan invites him inside and makes him dinner and considers his dietary restrictions and makes sure he is safe!! He finds two kids stealing from him to try and save their friend and gets dragged along into it so that he can make sure they stay safe!! He keeps xinyue’s restaurant but makes sure that it’s a place where er ye would have loved performing and lets his student perform there as often as he likes!!!! He listens to the unnatural bits of the world and of tombs and respects the wildness of gutongjing so much that he’s prepared to live there quietly for the rest of his (so long, so so long) life but when someone else (someone mortal! someone who doesn’t have the time to waste, any of it!) is trapped there with him, listens to her and makes sure she’s safe and gets her out! He just wants everyone to have a safe place in the world where they can go when everything else hurts and is out to get them and and and!!!!!!!!!!!

Forget the Buddha in the courtyard. Forget the Mystic Nine. Fo ye’s legacy is Zhang Rishan.

Those are the most conspicuous gloves he could have cozen, but of course he needed them to where them over his massive ring, not like he could have worn the ring over gloves or anything. They don't even match his outfit.

Wang Meng barely hesitated to strip when Wu Xie said to, he wasn't the target of it but still, how he didn't questing it when Wu Xie told said to.

Those heels look like they're slightly to small, or like the need an insert, a gap like that would likely have the heel falling off every three seconds unless she's clenching the fuck out of her toes.

OK, so I’ve been thinking a bit about how I fell into c dramas lately.  Because I can’t seem to make the timeline make sense in my head.  And after much research this afternoon, I think I’ve finally figured out why: the pandemic really has just entirely fucked with my perception of time.  O_o;;;

I keep thinking that I just got into DMBJ like... “last year.”  It FEELS like it should have been last year.  But after that one WiP Title meme response, I was abruptly reminded that I was just getting into HeiPing almost exactly a year ago... and that was at LEAST a year after first getting into DMBJ.  So I did some looking.

I reblogged my first TLTR posts in mid-late July OF 2020.  Definitely NOT a year ago.  XD  And I caved and got an iQIYI subscription around the end of July/beginning of August of 2020 to watch it.  So it’s been like... 2 1/2 YEARS, not ONE year.  OTZ

Thanks pandemic... everything that happened around when you started was “a year ago” I GUESS???

Then I got curious about when I first got into c-dramas, because in my head that was “a couple of years ago” but CLEARLY IT WAS NOT.

My first tagged The Untamed post was from November of 2019.

I’m almost certain I started watching that in the summer of 2019.  But either way, it was only a YEAR (or less???) from my first forays into c dramas to landing in the DMBJ pit?

No WONDER my mental timeline construct on that one is so fucked up.  I was so sure I was in TUD fandom for longer than a year before branching out into Guardian and I was sure I was in Guardian for at least a year before stumbling into DMBJ but CLEARLY THAT COULD NOT HAVE BEEN THE CASE????

OMG, I am so confused.  O_o;;;

I was writing (and posting) Legacies Lost up until the first full semester of lockdown began, which would have been Fall of 2020.  And I don’t THINK I was in Guardian fandom before that?  Maybe I overlapped more than I thought?

...my first Guardian post was May of 2020, but I’d clearly been watching for at least a little while by the time I reblogged that post.

I am SO fucking confused, you guys.  I REALLY THOUGHT I was in c drama fandoms for much much longer before landing in DMBJ.  HOW IS THAT SO CRUNCHED AND CONDENSED???

Ooooooooooh.  OK, I see.  I forgot that the summer of 2019 was Rocketman summer.  And I was definitely NOT yet in c drama fandoms at the time.  But now I remember that a friend was putting The Untamed on my dash for at LEAST 6 months to a year before I started watching it.  That might be why it seemed like it was longer.  And I guess I really must have overlapped more between Guardian and TUD than I thought I had.  The tipping point to me posting more Guardian stuff was in June of 2020 and it was a month after that that I fell into DMBJ.

WOW.

Sorry guys; probably no one cares, but this is weirding me out a little.  XD  All this time I really thought I was in Guardian fandom for way longer than DMBJ but APPARENTLY NOT???  I’m so confused.  XD

OK.  I’m gonna go... toddle off and think about other things now.  XD

WIP Snippet Game

i was tagged by one of my faaaaavvvvvoooorrriiiitttteeeeeessss @lucientelrunya and once again I'm going feral over mecha!FuBa like literally shut up!!!!!!! they fit that AU so wellllll ghghghghghghghgh

anyway! i have no idea when it's going to be ready cause it is very slow going but! Here's an Eternal Voyage snippet for you all >:)

Zhang Rishan obeys. He unstraps one of his gloves and yanks it off with his teeth, grabbing his pocket knife with the other hand and flipping up the blade. He drags it across his palm, making sure to squeeze a pool of blood into his fist, not that it will really matter; it’s too cold in here for him to heal the cut as quickly as he normally would.  He gets up and goes to the cargo, holding his fist above the crates and letting his blood drip into the seam where the lid snaps into place. He walks down each of the rows, squeezing blood out of the cut on his palm and onto the boxes, waiting for it to seep in, to do the hard work for him. He finishes the task and goes to crouch by the door, waiting.  It doesn’t take long. At the far end of the middle row of cargo, a box begins to rattle, the electromagnetic hinges sparking and disengaging as the crate falls off of the stack, opening with a thud and sending several glowing spheres of yellow smoke tumbling out, rolling across the floor. Zhang Rishan scoops one up with his uninjured hand, careful not to get any blood on the glass, and examines it. It’s definitely the alsorbium; he recognizes the smoky appearance.  He flicks on his eye visor with a nod, the sensors at his temple reacting to the movement and sliding the screen around. He navigates to the camera, snaps three pictures with blinks, and sends them to their ship.  He’s just gotten confirmation that the Qiongqi has received his notification when the cargo bay door slides open, revealing four smugglers in dark, space-grade clothing, goggles over their eyes and scarves pulled up over their mouths. They stand in the doorway and stare at Zhang Rishan. Zhang Rishan stares back. Slowly, he watches as their gazes travel to the orb he’s holding in his hand.  “Right,” Zhang Rishan says. “That.”
