Anon, if you hadn’t said this, I wouldn’t have even questioned you. I also forget that Kunitz wasn’t on the 09 team.

Out of those, I really feel like Malkin would survive the best (or at least the longest) in the wilderness. Though Staal would be a close second.

you gripped the front of your jacket tighter around yourself as you crossed one leg over the other. the game hadn't even started and you were already into your second beer. it was honestly out of nerves and to keep yourself from biting off all your fingernails.

it was the last game in the stanley cup. they were both tied. the blues had won 3 games and the pens had won 3.

"mama, are you okay?" your youngest, spencer asked.

"yeah, i'm okay." you nodded.

"you don't usually drink this much." phoebe pointed out.

"thank you for pointing that out, phoebe." you playfully glared at your oldest.

"i feel you, girl." catherine hit her cup against your's in a 'cheers' motion.

the entire game, you felt like you were gonna pass out every second. spencer fell asleep, so he was now laying in your arms. finn sat next to you, close to falling asleep.

you took another sip of your beer as the third period began. as the clock ticked by, it felt like it was moving slower and you felt like you were losing years off your life in the process. the game was tied, which only added to the stress you were feeling.

you watched as sid and kris skated down the ice, passing the puck back and forth to each other. you held onto spencer as your butt practically floated out of your seat.

you held your breath as the clock ticked down and watched as sid shot the puck into the net. the timer went off right as the puck hit the back of the net.

it took a second for it to set in, but when it did, you were on your feet, hugging all the other girls. spencer, who was dozing in and out of sleep, immediately woke up when the whole arena burst out in cheers.

you watched from the box, a smile on your face, as the pens were given the champion hats and handed the stanley cup once again. sid raised the cup above his head, causing the crowd to burst out into cheers and applause.

as people began to pack up, you packed up as well. phoebe helped, being the responsible older sister. she held finn's hand and slung a small bag over her shoulder. you held specner in your arms as you slung your own bag over your shoulder.

you made your way down to the tunnel to meet the guys. of course, you knew you would be there for a while, but you didn't mind. you were tired, so being able to sit down for a little while was nice.

as time went on, slowly all three of your kids were asleep. the guys slowly came out of the locker room on a win high. they saw all the sleeping kids lined up against the wall and quieted down.

sid came out, talking with a rookie. he saw you close to falling asleep, sitting on the ground with all three kids sleeping against you. he ended the conversation with the rookie and made his way over to you.

he watched you for a second, not wanting to disturb the peace, "hey." he spoke softly, not wanting to wake up the gaggle of crosby children around you.

you opened your eyes and saw who it was. it took a second to register who was crouching in front of you, but when you finally realized who it was, you broke out into a smile, causing sid to do the same.

"congrats, captain." you beamed.

"couldn't have done it without you." he leaned forward, careful not to wake spencer or finn.

"let's get them home into their own beds. we have a long day tomorrow," you whispered. you were set to fly back to canada home which you stayed at during the off-season.

"yeah, let's get them home." he nodded, carefully taking spencer out of your arms and letting you stand up. he handed spencer back to you, then picked up both finn and phoebe in his arms.

you both said your goodbyes to the team and waved to them, promising to text and keep up with them over the break, then headed down to where sid's car was parked.

when you finally got into bed, you let out a sigh of relief and shut your eyes. sid crawled in next to you and wrapped his arms around you, "i love you." he murmured.

"i love you, too." you hummed, a smile on your face.
