Sweet and sour sauce for 'pork ribs king' (Ep9: Quick and easy Asian food)

This sweet and sour sauce is specially made for a pork ribs recipe popular in Singapore and Malaysia. The pork ribs are so good that the local people called it 'pork ribs king' (排骨王). The sauce was invented by a Singapore chef in the 1960's for its signature Kyoto pork ribs (京都排骨). It now becomes one of the most popular Chinese dishes locally.
