Gonna be honest, the Sefikura baby PowerPoint just makes me think of Sephiroth basically constantly getting Cloud pregnant with all of the kids, to the point where Cloud is frequently making threats to his family jewels while Sephiroth regrets nothing

It was something I thought about when I was making it (thus the final slide). Tried to keep it to groupings I have written / seriously contemplated and typically I've only gotten up to 2 pregnacies (although it did pain me not to include a Prompto + Hope + Chadley twins purely so I could call it the "uncoordinated siblings", and I did cut out Prompto + the Remnants which I have written about because I didn't have a clever name for it).

I can definitively see Sephiroth becoming obsessed with getting Cloud pregnant as much as possible. However I think it's after their first is born that almost a switch goes off in his head and he becomes obsessed with having as many children with Cloud as possible. Before their first is born I don't think he really gets why people have children. He isn't a fan of babies or children and while sure he understands the value of heirs he still doesn't see why people are so hung up about it.

And, alright, I don't think he understands it in a normal way even after the first is born but he definitively becomes a little obsessed with it. This tiny human that is a combination of your and another person's genes. A combination of both of your traits that will carry on even after you die. It is creation in its purest form. And a display of just how strong Cloud is that he can carry and sustain a child that carries Sephiroth's genetics as well as a show of Sephiroth's virility to sire them. He wants as many as he can have and probably isn't entirely above sabotaging birth control to get it if needed (thankfully I don't think it reaches that level).

Apart from likely constant jokes of forcing Sepiroth to get a vacectimy (or possibly a castration) it's easy to see a version of Cloud that isn't really doing a whole lot to curb Sephiroth's want for as many children as possible. Yes a bit of the hero worship hanging around is probably at play but a lot of it is I think Cloud's body handles pregnancy very well (I give him so much mental and/or medical trauma around it in so many verses/ideas that physically I cut him a break). Oh, sure, it's still sucky - but he has very few side effects, practically glows through it, and recovers from birth very quickly. He falls pregnant easily and does pregnancy well so it's a bit too easy for Sephiroth to convince him to have (or I suppose get him pregnant with) another.

The great irony is that a non-evil Sephiroth (which I'm assuming this is) is going to be an incredibly awkward and hands-off father. He doesn't really know what to do with all these kids once they all start deveolping personalities.

Poor Wayfaring Stranger (Final Fantasy XV) - AU where Cor finds MT!Prompto and brings him back to Insomnia to take care of him. Idk how else to describe this fanfiction. It's one of the best pieces of writing I've ever read. It basically reconfigured my brain.

ikanaide (Project Sekai) - Tsukasa gets sick and his friends take care of him.

16. How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Share one of them?

OH GOD SO MANY they basically don't stop.

Of the ones I feel confident I will write at some point, there are... 5 I think. 100ft is one of them so I won't talk too much about that.

The other chapter fic I want to write is my take on the "save everyone in the doomed timeline" style fic, and I've talked about it before. I've been tentatively calling it "Donnie and Mikey's Step-by-Step Guide to Saving Your Doomed Family," or just "Step-by-Step Guide" and, like I've said, it's intended to be heavily B Team focused.

The idea came from my interest in the time between the end of the Season 2 finale and the start of the movie, a time where Leo and Raph fought a lot and Donnie and Mikey had to lean on each other. They've always been close but in the movie they're downright clingy, with Donnie reflexively tucking Mikey under his arm or holding on to him in so many scenes, and like a lot of other people I interpret this as a consequence of Raph and Leo's fighting and the tension it created in their dynamic. But I also kinda shy away from that actual time period, because if you stay canon compliant with the movie it's kinda hard to have an actual resolution to that tension without overwriting it some way. And I know some writers thrive in that limbo, but I am not one of those people haha. It's just not something I'm personally interested in writing myself.

So this fic will be set in the immediate aftermath of the film, where things are kinda resolved but not really because Leo and Raph are still too seriously injured to have an actual conversation, and Mikey and Donnie are still left in uncertainty of what their sibling bond will look like when all is said and done.

And what better way to distract yourself from the growing tension in your own family than by involving yourself in someone else's problems - specifically the problems of yourselves from a doomed future?

I'm really excited about it... whenever I get to it haha.

24. Worst writing advice anyone ever gave you?

I caaan't remember if I've told this story here but if I have I'll just tell it again lol

I grew up in a really small rural town that happened to have a very small private college in it (the entire campus could have fit in the commuter parking lot of the state college I went to). Every now and then this college would host some kind of speaker or a workshop that was open to the public, and this was a big thing because my town didn't get a lot of that kind of thing coming through it. One of these workshops was hosted by a published author, and it was a class for beginning fiction writers. I was around 17 or 18 at the time, and me and two of my other friends (who also wanted to be professional writers one day) were very excited to sign up.

I mean, I can't stress to you guys how hype we were for this. You'd think we had backstage tickets to a Lady Gaga concert. But our town didn't have a lot of people you could talk to about this kind of thing. Getting advice from someone who had actually gotten their books bought and published by an actual publishing house was a big deal to us.

So we get to the workshop. We're the only teenagers there, but we weren't worried about that. We were the nerds in high school, we were used to this. We all sit down in the same row, pencils and notebooks ready to go. Ready for wisdom!

She asked the group to give a short, punchy summary for a story idea we each had. Like the straight A students we were, my friends and I all put our hands up first. She called on me, and I rattled off my back-of-the-book style summary for something I wanted to write, a fantasy novel about dragons and swords (I was a dragon girl).

I remember she gave me this nasty look and said, "Oh, you're one of those."

She preceded to go into a prolonged rant about how genre fiction is pointless; how there's nothing redeemable about fantasy worlds, how it's empty-calorie entertainment, the potato chips of the literary world. Books, she said, are supposed to be about real things. Contemporary and historical fiction were the only worthy genres in this woman's mind.

I don't remember a lot of the advice that came after that, I just remember sitting in my chair feeling dejected and stupid.

I think about that sometimes, and how one person can be so wrong. Genre fiction may be set in fantasy worlds or sci-fi futures, but it's still about real things. Real emotions and real struggles and real philosophical questions. If you cut yourself off from fantasy and sci-fi just because it deals with unreal or theoretical concepts, you cut yourself off from a broad spectrum of human self-expression.

Anyway, she may have sold a few historical fiction novels but I have 250K hits on AO3 so who's laughing now, lady

In Sola & Nox verse, how old was she when she had her whoops babies the first time? Was she already married to Libs or did they have to organise a super rushed wedding too?

Sola was 21 when she and Lib had their whoops twins. By this point they’ve only been dating a year, though Sola’d been openly flirting with Lib for a year before that.

Sola and Libertus end up proposing to each other shortly after Sola discovers that she’s pregnant. Honestly, neither of them are in a hurry to get married, Galahdian culture doesn’t put emphasis on parents being married like Lucian culture does, and Sola’s never given a damn about Lucian nobility’s delicate sensibilities before, she’s sure as shit not gonna start now. Besides, it’s not like she’s the only one at court to have a kid out of wedlock - Plenus Egestas near had a stroke when his daughter wound up pregnant with no father in sight.

Besides, anyone talking shit about Sola’s children being bastards within earshot of any of the royal family will find themselves regretting that in short order, because Sola’s reaction will be the least of their worries compared to her male relatives.

But both Libertus and Sola are soldiers. They know the risks of their profession all too well. They marry (Galahdian-style at first, the Royal Wedding can come after Sola gives birth because she’s not going to rush the planning just to squeeze into a dress) mostly to give their children the extra legal protections afforded under Lucian law. And so no one in court can get it into their heads to try to deny Libertus parental rights simply because he wasn’t her husband. Is it paranoid? Perhaps, but Sola would rather be safe than sorry when it comes to Libertus and her kids, in the event she’s no longer around to protect them.

I haven’t decided when Sola winds up pregnant the first time exactly, but in the theme of surprise pregnancies at the worst possible time… she probably finds out while out on rotation on the front lines. At first she thinks it might be a stomach bug or hangover, she and the off duty glaives at the time did have a few drinks and she wasn’t the only one feeling it the next morning because Sola’s regeneration doesn’t actually fix dehydration, rip.

Only the stomach bug doesn’t go away. On the second day Sola goes to the medics because if it is a bug then they need to get her on antibiotics or antivirals asap.

Surprise, it’s not a bug!

Sola’s immediately yanked from the front and placed on desk duties, because if Sola miscarries Titus wants to be able to tell her family that it was not because of anything related to the glaives. He does not want that headache.

Titus also yanks Sola’s Retinue, because he’s not an idiot, there’s no way they’d be able to focus in the field. Libertus is yanked too, as the presumptive father and as Nyx’s only Braincell.

Titus also, politely, requests Sola tell her relatives sooner rather than later about her pregnancy. The King is aware that Sola was yanked from the front for medical reasons, and isn’t actually entitled to know anything beyond that unless Sola volunteers it, but Titus asks that Sola spare him the stress of dealing with her panicky father and uncles.

Nox, of course, is already aware, having been on the front lines with her when it was discovered, with that particular piece of gossip ripping through the gleeful glaives faster than a wildfire in Cavaugh in a drought.

Sola refuses to say anything until Cid arrives in the Citadel, claiming she only wants to explain once - a bald-faced lie, she just wants to get everyone at the same time.

Noctis lights up in excitement at the announcement he’s going to be an uncle. Ignis’ jaw drops in surprise before he recovers, and Gladio actually falls into a wall. (If Prompto has joined the Chocobros at this point, he’ll flail.)

Ardyn goes statue-still, which is probably the best reaction of shock Sola will ever get out of him, before he’s on his feet embracing Sola in a hug and spinning her around. Titus just looks relieved that he doesn’t have to keep dodging questions about Sola’s health anymore. Penny, meanwhile, is eyeing Sola like she’s already measuring her for new outfits.

Nothing can shock Clarus as much as meeting his own grandchildren and then his son in the span of fifteen minutes. Instead, he looks wryly amused, knowing he has no leg to stand on when it comes to having kids out of wedlock. Cor is oh-so-slightly wide-eyed as he processes the announcement, but Cor.exe has very much stopped working, please check back in about ten minutes.

Cid, of course, is laughing his ass off, wheezing something along the lines of ‘I hope you have kids just like you’-

Regis runs a hand down his face, exasperated and resigned and reluctantly wry. Of all the things for his daughter to surprise him with. He opens his mouth, starts to lecture her, only for Sola to raise an unimpressed brow at him, retorting that Regis has no room to lecture her when she was born only a couple months after he and Mama married.

And Six, she looks so much like her mother in that instant - Aulea never had much patience for his dramatics either - that Regis feels a swell of love and fondness. And Sola is clearly so happy about it, so Regis places his own reservations aside and congratulates her and Libertus instead.

Of course, then Sola finds out she’s having twins. And the temptation is too much for her to resist, so she and Libertus are the only ones that actually know she’s having twins.

(Nox and Axis suspect. Nox because he actually has memories of being pregnant from previous Queens, and Axis because he’s a father of triplets and has passing familiarity with the signs of a multiple pregnancy.)

(Ardyn also suspects something, but only because he can feel his niece’s gleeful anticipation. Being a fellow chaos gremlin, Ardyn refuses to spoil Sola’s fun.)

Meanwhile, the glaives in Insomnia get to experience the sheer terror of having a very pregnant Sola as their drill instructor, Abyssus and her Retinue all too willing to be her assistants in delivering her Training from Ifrit’s Pyre. >:)

Haven’t decided on names yet, alas.

The Echoes of a Scream

Synopsis: Eight years into the Long Night, Cor comforts a child MT clone after a kidnapping attempt.

Author's Note: I was trying to figure out how to write Cor for a future scene in my long fic and came up with this scene.

It's set immediately in the aftermath of my fic, Scream.

“Hi there,” Cor greeted cautiously, sitting cross-legged on the hospital floor. He sat his katana by his side. He inhaled deeply through his nose. Held it for a seven-count, and slowly let it out through his mouth. His radio filled his ear with the agitated chatter of every Kingsglaive, Crownsguard, and Hunter in the city as they searched for the attempted kidnapper. He pulled it from his ear and sat it with his katana.

Eight-year-old Callie Algetty hadn’t moved from her hiding spot behind a piece of heavy hospital equipment. Her violet eyes were wide and wild, her face a vicious mosaic of dark bruises and swelling from her previous ordeal not even a day ago. One actual kidnapping, daemons, and now a second attempted kidnapping.

He focused his eyes on the scalpel she was holding.

She’d already doled out some damage with it, demonstrating familiarity with bladed weapons. She’d also apparently escaped her assailant’s hold by striking his throat and jamming a thumb to his eye. Not surprising for a child born and raised in the paramilitary.

He could probably disarm her from here. However, her arms were not in good shape, and he could easily injure her further. Better for her to put her makeshift weapon down on her own.

“That was scary, wasn’t it?” he ventured, keeping his voice low and gentle. “But you did well. I’m proud of you.”

Fresh tears traced their way down her face, and her lips quivered.

“I’ve issued a city-wide manhunt, and a guard will be posted to your bedside,” he continued. “He won’t be back — I promise.”

“I want Prompto,” Callie whimpered. “I want Iris.”

Cor kept his face neutral and carefully said, “I know, but they’re with the doctors right now.” Neither was in any shape to comfort the little girl, even though he had no doubt they’d do it anyway. Iris was recovering from surgery, and Prompto was having his wounds from the banshee debrided.

Crestfallen, her entire little body just seemed to sink in on itself. A quiet, teary moan, “Why won’t the bad guys leave me alone?”

Cor sighed; he wasn’t the kind of man who liked lying to children. This would be difficult, “You’re a kind of clone—a genetic copy of another person. We don’t have proof yet, but we think you’re a special kind of clone used in magitek cyborg research.”

“If that’s the case and you had been born in Niflheim,” he said cautiously, gauging her reaction. “You would have had special magitek parts implanted in your body.”

MT and the clones they originated from were known to the public thanks to several high-profile daemonic incursions and incidents. A look of horror spread across her poor, battered face. As the revelation sank in, horrible sobs emerged.

Prompto had warned him what her next thoughts would probably be. “Before you ask, you’re real. Less a movie clone and more like an identical twin.” A faint clatter as she dropped the scalpel to hug herself. He wasn’t going to try for it yet, though. “There’s a set of twins in your elementary school, right? And they’re different people even though they look alike.”

A ghost of a ‘yeah’ emerged from her lips.

“There might be other girls and boys who look like you, but they aren’t you,” he finished as she seemed to curl into herself. No further information, not right now. What he’d given her was far too much as it was. “Would you like a hug?”

A tearful, sobbing nod.

“Give me the knife so you don’t hurt yourself when you crawl out,” he suggested. To his relief, she offered him the scalpel. He set it behind him as the child crawled out of her hiding spot and clamored into his lap.

Cor held the small, trembling body, cupped the back of her head, and gently rocked. The child in his arms sobbed and wailed to the unfairness of this ugly, apocalyptic world.

I'm running around doing side quests on FF7 Rebirth and therefore spending a lot of time with Chadley and Mai who my standing joke is that they're the younger twin siblings of Hope Esthiem from Final Fantasy XIII. Especially when I make them Sephiroth/Cloud children.

Also have Cloud is the Remnant's carrier verse stuff starting to play around in my head again. But that's very seperate in my head to having Hope and the Chadley twins as SephCloud children.

And then there's the other characters I've written as their kids as well (Prompto for FFXV, Riku (and Repliku) from KH, Sice from Type-0, there are more I've probably forgotten about)

Starting to think I need to build a catalogue of the different potential 'family groupings' of SephCloud children I have depending on the idea I'm playing with in question.

2. What was it like discovering you were otherkin?

Noooot fantastic lol. I've told this full story on twitter before, but I was actually introduced to otherkin through Razgriz Werepack circa 2009. Which, for anyone who doesn't know their reputation, Razgriz was like, THE p-shifter teenwolf werepack of the day. There were tons of others but Razgriz was the most popular and well known, and was an unholy cornucopia of misinformation and typical p-shifter cult nonsense, including spells to become a werewolf/vampire, asking other kids to bite you to "awaken" your latent were abilities, all that type of stuff.

I was on FurAffinity, and my old main character and fursona was a werecat. I did sort of see myself in her and project my feelings of nonhumanity through her, but I didn't know anything about therians or otherkin or any other kind of alterhumanity. I'd always felt weird and nonhuman, but I just thought this was a normal furry thing to feel and that's why I got into furry fandom in the first place.

Anyway I randomly got a DM from a Razgriz member asking if I was a "real" werecat, and since I thought they were roleplaying, I answered in-character. Eventually they realized what was going on and told me no, I was actually a werecat, I just didn't know it yet. They put me through this super ridiculous screening test and I scored an "impossibly" high result on it and they let me join the pack. I was with them for like six months before the "alphas" changed and decided to kick out everyone who they thought was an RPer or otherwise not really a werewolf. At the time, I thought I was demonkin as well as a were, so I got the boot because "demons aren't real".

Some time after that, while looking for a new pack to join, I ran across an 18+ only therian pack online. Their chatroom was open to all ages though, so I hopped in to talk to them and they pretty quickly explained to me that a lot of what I had learned with Razgriz was completely wrong. I was catkin, yes, and was correct about my lynx kintype (aside from the mistaken demon kin, my only known 'types at the time were lynx and snow leopard), but a lot of the other stuff I'd been told (like about AWTOK, which back then was also called The Institute among teenwolf packs) was super wrong. There was a sort of awkward re-examining period where I had to figure out who and what I was without the p-shifter and pack mindset, and realize that yes, I am otherkin, but that my point of view on it up to that point was way off.

Oh yeah! Most of my 'types are fairly common. I think the only 'type I have yet to meet another of is kestrels!

With satyrs though, "same" is a little nebulous. I've met plenty of other general or folklore-specific satyrs, but never another one from either of my fictional sources (which are a stronger part of my satyr identity than the mythos one OTL)

Fictomeres are pretty hit or miss, but I've met a couple Prompto and Toothless twins around.

Sera believes in destiny and the Fates, but not so much the supernatural. He has no care for made up ghost stories.

If yall aren't careful probably Sephiroth, sword included. The more intricate the costume the more he loves it, he thinks its so fun.

👽 - Would they ever spend the night in a haunted house/hotel/place? Do they visit haunted attractions like mazes or scare house? Who would they go with?

He would, and he'd use his psychic abilities to scare whoever he brought along. Usually Marilla or the twins drag him along, unfortunately for them..

🎃 - What are some of their Halloween traditions? Do they cook pumpkin seeds after carving pumpkins? Do they host a party?

He loves roasting pumpkin seeds with cinnamon sugar and eating it. Or making pumpkin pie with pie pumpkins! He also really like trick or treating when he's younger.

Noctis and Prompto WHEN (or if its a group, the whole crew)

Serafim would be the kind of mf to like black licorice </3 his favourite are kit kats though, and he likes the minis cause he feels less bad about eating a whole box.

random idea for an episode of my AU:

"there's only one bed", but instead of the typical awkward romance trope, it's the Chocobros + Stella arguing over the bed in a motel

they arrive late, everyone's exhausted, there's only one small room left, containing a single twin-sized bed

two people could share it, but it'd be uncomfortably close

Ignis leaves the room for a few moments to go get the groceries from the car, and the other four immediately start bickering over the bed, each presenting their argument for why they clearly deserve to have it

at some point this turns into Gladio insisting the one who really deserves the bed is Ignis

not to be outdone, Stella then also starts insisting Ignis should have the bed, and that she definitely wants him to have it more than Gladio does (of course)

Noctis & Prompto slowly get sucked into this debate as well, until all four of them have instead started arguing over who thinks Ignis deserves the bed more, and why

and Ignis, having returned with the groceries already, just kinda stands in the doorway for a few minutes and relishes in the joy of listening to his friends go on and on about how much they actually appreciate him
