It was dark on the cold december night. I was hanging out at Sweet Pea’s place when the snow started coming down hard. Neither of us noticed, until we started getting cold. I felt the shivers and looked over at Pea, who was also slightly shivering.
“It’s cold in here.” I mentioned and Sweets nodded. He got up and checked the head, which was on. He looked out the window and his eyes widened.
“Uh, I guess it started snowing.” Sweets said and I got up to look.
“Oh my God…” I said as I looked at the snow quickly piling up. I heard my phone ring and quickly went to answer it.
“Hello?” I answered.
“Y/N? Where are you?” My brother, Jughead asked.
“I’m at Pea’s place.” I answered.
“Dad! She’s with Sweet Pea!” I heard him call out.
“Darlin’? You’re still at Sweet Pea’s place?” Dad asked and I nodded, before realizing he can’t see me.
“Yeah.” I answered.
“Stay there tonight, there’s a bad storm outside and it looks like we’re gettin’ snowed in.” He said.
“Yeah, Sweets and I didn’t realize it even started snowing until we both felt how cold it was getting.” I said and looked over at Sweets.
“You both are gonna be able to stay warm, right?” He asked.
“Yeah, I think so.” I answered.
“Good, alright, try and keep your phone charged. We might lose power.” He said.
“Okay, Daddy.” I said with a nod. We hung up and I turned to Sweet Pea.
“Guess we’re stuck here until the storm is over and people can start digging us out.” I said and he nodded.
“Fine by me.” He said with a small smirk. I rolled my eyes and started to rub my arms.
“Dad said he thinks we might lose power.” I said and Sweets groaned.
“We’re gonna freeze to death.” He said and I giggled.
“I might freeze first, so you can eat my body if you need to.” I joked. Sweets chuckled then noticed me shivering harder and rubbing my arms. He walked off and returned with a warm looking sweater. He tossed it to me and I happily put it on.
“That looks better on you then it does me.” He said with a wink and I blushed slightly. Sweets and I returned to the couch and started watching another movie.
Maybe half way through the power cut out. Pea groaned and I sighed. It almost instantly got colder. I checked my phone and saw Jughead had texted me. He was making sure my phone was charged and we were okay. I texted him back and told him that my phone was charged and that Pea and I would be fine. I started shivering again and Sweets looked over at me.
“Sweets?” I asked.
“Yeah?” He asked.
“C-Can we move t-to your bed?” I asked. He nodded and we both quickly went to his room. I rushed to his bed and wrapped the blanket around my body and felt a little warmer. Sweets left the room and came back a few moments later with extra blankets. I smiled and moved over to make room for Sweets. He got under the blankets with me and wrapped the extra ones around us. Sweets laid down and pulled me to lay on his chest. I smiled as I felt the warmth of his body.
“Imagine Jugs face if he saw us frozen like this.” I joked and Sweets laughed.
“He’d find a way to bring me back just to kill me again.” He said and I giggled. My brother was alway protective of me when it came to guys. When he found out me and Sweet Pea were dating, Dad had to stop him from killing my now boyfriend. Dad wasn’t exactly happy about me dating Pea either, but he could tell how happy I was with him. That’s the only reason he was a bit more lenient with us.
I could feel myself growing tired, but I didn’t really think I should sleep while being this cold. My eyelids were growing heavier and heavier, I could hardly fight it.
“Get some sleep, babe, it’s pretty much the only thing we can do right now anyway.” He said and I sighed.
“I don’t wanna freeze to death.” I mumbled. Pea chuckled and pulled me closer.
“I’m not gonna let you freeze babe, I’ll keep you warm all night.” He said and my eyes finally closed. I mumbled something in my sleepy state as I finally lost the fight.

Jughead Jones will accept all signifiers of love, no matter how twisted or harmful or painful to himself, and do all he can to protect people that he thinks love him and that he wants to believe mean him well.
Look at the knots he twists himself into in order to believe Jellybean's blatant lie that she made those malicious little movies out of love for her brother, out of a desire to be close to Jughead.
She terrorized our home and all my family and friends out of love for me.
FP rightfully finds this a bit unbelievable, and in the final analysis, Jughead has nothing to cling to but the paper-thin lie that Jellybean told him, so he clings, even as he admits this is what she told him rather than this is what he really believes.
As a fellow creative, he also tries to elevate what she did, with those other kids, as "pretty impressive." He's really trying hard, trying to repackage the whole ordeal as a creative act, gone a bit awry because hey, they're kids, rather than the purposefully mean spirited pranks they actually were.
And finally, he offers a pretty legalistic defense. That she is a minor, and therefore cannot be 'tried' under adult standards of moral behavior or you know, acting lovingly towards people she purportedly loves.
And my heart breaks for Jughead, because he didn't need to do all that, not really. His entire family's orientation is to favor Jellybean at his expense. Even if he hadn't said all that, FP was always going to tell Jellybean that it's ok, and abandon Jughead to deal with the psychological fallout all by himself.

Something that always was in my mind was notice how in se 5 ep 18 tabitha waited both times during jabitha kisses for jughead to kiss her first. The first time was during perfect for you. I feel like mainly because of the first kiss they shared was awkward and tabitha instantly realized that he wasn't ready so she waited to be sure that he was ok with it. And the second was in hey3 Tabitha wanted to be with him but still wanted to be sure that he was ok.
I feel like maybe she waited because she wanted to Make sure it was what he wanted and he really does want to be with her and I love her for that. She loves him so much and wanted to be sure that he was ready. She truly is an angel who has always put jughead's needs first.

𝐑𝐄-𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐑𝐎𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐈𝐍𝐆… 𝐌𝐘 𝐑𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐃𝐀𝐋𝐄 𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐆𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐄𝐑, 𝐃𝐑𝐄𝐖 𝐏𝐇𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐏𝐏𝐀
❝ Drew Phillipa was a pretty normal teenage boy. He'd grown up on Riverdale's Northside, in a decently nice house, with two parents who loved and always supported him. He was a starter on the Riverdale High basketball team. He earned pretty good grades, hung out with his teammates and best friend Jughead in his spare time, and, occasionally, made out with a sexuality-questioning Archie Andrews in various alleyways and empty classrooms.
(Okay, so maybe that last part wasn't super normal, but given that nobody but he and Archie knew about it, Drew figured it didn't have to count in the analysis of his life.)
But it would seem that normal things aren't meant to last in the town of Riverdale, because over the past few months, Drew's world had gotten turned upside down more than a few times. First there was the murder of Jason Blossom, whom Drew had also made out with a few times before he'd gotten engaged to Polly Cooper. Then there was the investigation that Jughead had been roped into, the revelation that Jason's own father had killed him and that Jughead's dad, who was also a gang leader, had been involved in it, and then Clifford's Blossom's subsequent suicide and Cheryl Blossom's burning down of her family's mansion.
And then, to top it all off, Drew's loving, supportive parents are killed in a car accident shortly after FP Jones's conviction.
Now, several months after his parents' joint funeral, Drew is finally moving to the Southside to live with his aunt and uncle alongside his best friend. Jughead seems reluctant to associate with the Southside Serpents, the gang his father formerly led, but Drew is smarter than that; he knows that two former Northsiders like them are going to need protection if they want to survive here. Unfortunately, the Serpents at Southside High see Drew as nothing more than a naïve Northsiders trying to join a gang to be cool, and basically refuse to take Drew on as a member unless FP Jones's son will join with him. And Jughead seems intent on staying a loner.
Still, Drew is determined to charm his way into the crew of teenage Serpents - especially when he sees how cute their leader is. Fangs Fogarty doesn't seem to think anything more of Drew than the rest of his friends, but Drew is nothing if not determined to worm his way into the boy's good graces and gain the protection he can't help feeling like he'll need.
Fighting with his best friend, living in a world without his parents, actively trying to join a gang, and slowly falling for said gang's leader... yeah, Drew's fairly sure he's now the exact opposite of a pretty normal teenage boy. ❞

The Lodges and Jones reaction abilty to alter to the narrative
Theses scene are so similar in the sense that both jug and Veronica admit a a older family member Ronnie her Abuelita and Jug his dad aka FP with the fact that their son/daughter (Hiram and JellyBean) did some crazy ass shit that traumatized V and Jug Lourdes and Jug however are not around alot or weren't for a long time from JellyBean and Hiram Jellybean leaves the text after the highschool graduation because jughead is writing the universe and he doesn't go to therapy (I know she's with her grandparents but like literally all of Betty's family and even Ronnie's while family we know are their so it makes a lot of sense that jug chose that himself)
I think this interesting because Lourdes is exists in a way that is source of protection for Veronica post time jump
Lourdes 3rd time in Riverdale is when Veronica kills Hiram and When Lourdes comes to the funeral after learning about Ronnie killing Hiram and she meets Heraldo through her Abuelita who becomes like her body guard (I don't know if the specifics but it's not really important why he's with her besides the hint in his name) and he is like her dude for a while
Anyway after Ronnie's gotten rid of Hiram we meet the embodiment of white systemic power and colonialism Percival Pickens Veronica superpower arrives to protect her when her lips become poisonous it's possible that happened around the time Heraldo was their because he was to weak to overcome the power that Percival holds but he dies Herald a sign of change and Veronica changes physically to protect herself from Percival
When Lourdes returns for the last it's not of her own free will its because she's being mind controlled by Percival but I think it's interesting to note that we know Percy is our White systemic oppression but Hiram the son of Lourdes is the product and aftermath of that white systemic power and colonialism
So Lourdes is being mind controlled to shoot Veronica but eventually both of them get things under control and when Lourdes is back to normal and they clean up
This all note worthy because Veronica unlike Jug cannot just remove her family from the narrative she has to kill it herself Veronica is Latino but like both in the most vague way possible and I would argue that her relationship with the land is on par with Toni (Toni is both a black and indigenous woman she takes up that space mostly by herself with the occasional black character non angel tab and Josie) Veronica is like Mexican indigenous but she's like every brown Latino identity that populates the United States
The brown girls in Riverdale (tab is an angel for most of the time we see her so like she doesn't act like she's annoyed by jug because the angels need her save the world and that's her priority) our burdened by the men of colors delusion and ability to lean into the violence or subservience Lourdes changes the dynamic by giving Ronnie the patent reprimanding Hiram so that later when Veronica gets the point that she feels the need to kill her dad to protect herself she can protect herself
Jughead is alone because he was neglected and because he has no mama but also he has the excuse to remove things from the narrative he exists he gets remove parts of himself because he is white but Veronica's strength and burden is that she can't ignore it
