Sweet Pea- We Won't Work
Tumblr media
I sit down next to Fangs, Opposite Toni and Sweet Pea with my food tray in my hands. Since the Serpents moved to Riverdale High they have quickly become my best friends. During this time Sweet Pea has been trying to get me on a date. Not gonna happen. He’s a player and every girl with some sense will stay away from him. I’ve told him many times that we will never happen, but he’s just so determined to make me one of his quests
“Hey good looking” Sweet Pea smirks as I roll my eyes “so YN did you think about what I asked you?”
“Yes. And just like yesterday and the day before that and the day before that. No” Toni giggles at my response
“Come on man you’ve been at this for months. She’s not gonna go on a date with you” Fangs pats Pea on the shoulder
“Fangs is right. You better give up. There’s plenty of other girls who would love to go on a date with you. Josie is one”
“Josie is Peas secret hook up” I comment
“Not so secret since they were all over each other a few weeks ago and Cheryl’s party” Toni takes some fries off Fangs’ tray
“Me and Josie are over. We wanted different things. And anyway you never gave me a reason why you won’t go on a date with me” Sweet Pea folds his arms and I give him a shrug and eat my lunch
“I’ve dated your kind before and it wasn’t pretty”
“What do you mean by my kind?” He asks crossing his arms. I ignore him as Jug and Betty join us
“Hey guys” Betty smiles. I smile back at her as she sits
“What you guys talking about?” Jug asks sitting opposite Betty
“Just the usual. Sweet Pea trying to get a date with YN”
“Still?” Jughead chuckles shaking his head “dude when are you going to give that one up?” I can see Sweet Pea is starting to get annoyed with all the teasing. He gets up from his seat and walking out of the cafeteria.
After lunch Pea and I have history together, unfortunately for me we sit next to one another. Even worse Mr Roman decide to pared us up together for our history project on President George Washington which is why we are now sat on my bed looking in books and typing on my laptop
“You know we would be a good team. We work well together” Pea says. I sigh knowing he’s not going to give up. He’s persistent, I’ll give him that “so why won’t you go on a date with me?”
“Because we wouldn't work” I say not looking away from the laptop
“Why?”
“Because I'll break your heart?”
“Maybe I'll break yours” I then look at Pea smirking and shake my head
“No you won't. Nobody breaks my heart”
“Ah so you one of these girls who have built up a shield”
“Give it up Sweet Pea. I’ll be your friend, but we’re not dating” I groan as Pea pushes down the lid of the laptop “seriously”
“You said earlier you dated guys like me before. Enlighten me, what do you mean?”
“Players. Guys who jump from one girl to the next. Guys that just want one thing”
“They hurt you. That’s why you said it wasn’t pretty”
“I didn’t actually say who it wasn’t pretty for. Now will you stop asking me 20 questions at get on with our work?” I lift up the lid and we both sit in silence for a couple of minutes getting on with our work when Pea suddenly says
“You know, those rumours about me aren’t exactly true” I look up at Pea who looks remorseful “well not exactly. Yeah I’ll be honest I’ve slept with a few girls, not as many as you think, and it’s because I would find a girl I liked. We’d have sex and she’d run off to tell her friends. I was dumb enough to let it happen a few times. Then girls just stared to make shit up”
“I’m sorry Sweet Pea this shouldn’t have happened” I look at pea with a frown
“It’s ok. Well no it’s not, but I’m ok. The reason I’ve been asking you on a date is because you say no. I mean yes of course I want to go on a date with you, but you don’t throw yourself at me. I’m chasing you and it makes a change” something in me changes and I actually feel for Pea now. Maybe I should give him a chance. See what a date would be like with him
“Fine. I have a shift at Pops tomorrow till 7. Pick me up from there”
“What to finish our project” I chuckle at Sweet Pea
“No you idiot to take me on a date”
“Wait really?”
“Yeah. But I can promise you no sex and probably no kiss either”
“Deal” Peas face lights up. I’ve never seen him smile like this before. And that was all down to me agreeing to a date.

Northsiders refusing to welcome Southsiders isn’t an unfamiliar matter in the northside of Riverdale. Nearly everyone was the same; prejudice littered across the town with judgmental stares and narrow-mindedness that serves as immaturity, their lack of human decency evident with the way they’d rather spread hatred and negativity than actually get to know the Southsiders.
It’s gotten a lot boring, if the Southside Serpents were being honest.
Being constantly picked on by Reggie Mantle and the Bulldogs while the others watched, it was getting too old and unamusing for the gang. There’s nothing new to the way Reggie spits insults after insults that doesn’t even offend them in the slightest, the lack of creativity just making him seem like an unloved child. His mouth continuously moved despite the Serpents displaying a bored look on their faces, his superiority complex getting the best of him and causing him to be blind to his surroundings.
It was supposed to be the same; get picked on, everyone ignores, the Bulldogs get tired and leave, just like that. However, a new unfamiliar presence disrupted the routine that everyone seemingly fell into.
Adorned in an indie outfit of white button down, brown vest and khaki trousers that’s almost out of place in Riverdale High from its simplicity, you hurriedly walked towards the commotion and separated the Bulldogs from the Serpents by shoving Reggie back. The jock stumbled back from the force before glaring at you, who didn’t hesitate to stand tall in front of the Southsiders without much thought.
The Serpents who were in front, Sweet Pea, Toni and Fangs seemed taken aback by your protective stance, how you stood as if you were shielding them from the stupid jocks. They stared at the back of your head as you stared at Reggie, deeply unimpressed.
“Won’t there be a day where I don’t hear you making a fuss?” You asked rhetorically, sighing and adjusting the files you were holding in one arm. “It’s about time you grow up and act like your age, Mantle.”
Reggie sarcastically smiled, ignoring your remarks. “If it isn’t the nicest guy in Riverdale.” He tilted his head, “You would get nothing out of defending these fuckers, Mr. President. It’s only pointless, so get out of my way.”
“Picking on them is also pointless, what are you exactly trying to prove?” You retort, raising one of your eyebrows and shoving your empty hand in the pocket of your trousers. “This childish and immature actions must be definitely coming from being spoiled like a brat by your parents, but I assure you, you look nothing like but a pathetic attention-seeking bitch for going after people that couldn’t even give a single penny to care about you.”
A snicker erupts from behind you, undoubtedly from a couple of the Serpents, as Reggie clenched his jaw and stepped forward with a harsh glare.
“The fuck did you just say?”
“I’m sure you’re not deaf.” You fiercely met his eyes, unbothered by how he looks like he could punch you any moment. “I’m also sure what I said was true, but you’ll only prove me right if you attack me right now.” Your eyes cunningly glinted under the school lights.
Reggie grits his teeth, glares at the Serpents for a few moments before turning around to walk away, his teammates following behind.
A deep sigh escapes your lips as soon as he was out of sight, pinching the bridge of your nose under your round spectacles and turning around in your place to see the Serpents still standing there, observing you. They all plastered a curiosity on their faces since you were a new sight to them, someone who had never caught their eyes before. It’s also intriguing how you seem much more… nonchalant and mature than the other students, your atmosphere holding calmness that’s rare to find in people they’ve encountered.
“I apologize on their behalf. I know you could’ve handled it by yourselves, but settling things down is my job around here.” You formed an apologetic smile, which surprised them, along with the friendliness in your tone. No one had ever talked or looked at them like that. It was strange to interact with someone who had no malice or negativity in the atmosphere.
“Don’t be sorry!” Toni grinned, holding her hand out. “I’m Toni. These are Fangs and Sweet Pea.”
You shook her hand and introduced yourself before looking at the two guys on both of her sides, Sweet Pea’s eyes lingering on you causing you to flash him a shy smile and look back at Toni, gesturing to her pink hair. “I really like your hair, it’s pretty.”
“Thanks,” She happily fluffed her hair with her hands.
“This is probably your first time seeing me here, I’m actually the school president although Cheryl likes to act more like it.” You explained with a chuckle.
Sweet Pea raised his brows, “How come you’re not around?”
“I’ve been doing charity work for my family’s business,” You shrugged. “Teaching kids basic lessons, serving foods and drinks to people in need, visiting nursing homes, taking care of people with disability, something like that. My family’s business provide help to all community that needs a helping hand.”
Your explanation left them impressed as their eyes fell on the files in your arm, some posters and documents sticking out from it. There were also sticky notes and note tabs that shows your effort to the project, which revealed your genuineness to help people. Perhaps, Reggie Mantle was really telling the truth when he said you’re the nicest guy in Riverdale. The way you smiled was genuine and warm, as if it came from the bottom of your heart, looking at them with nothing but kindness and friendliness behind your bright eyes that sparkles in excitement.
Toni found you adorable, your softness coming off as unexpected from your sophisticated attitude. Fangs found you cool, your lack of hesitation in calling out other’s bullshit even when people were just muttering among themselves making him laugh and want to befriend you more.
Sweet Pea, on the other hand, found you endearing. You were like a bright soul that got lost in a jungle full of animals, the only sane and more human person in this town. Your soothing laugh tugs at the strings on his heart as warmth spreads across his chest, an unfamiliar feeling building up in his stomach. He admires the way you push your glasses up with one finger when it slides down, the way you furrow your brows when concentrating, the way your fingers flip the page of the files you’ve made by yourself.
You had enthusiastically joined them in class when you found out they shared the same one as you, choosing to sit near them so you’ll be able to have hushed conversations while the teacher discussed some nonsense.
Everyday, you would spend time with them despite the amount of students wanting to converse with you, becoming some sort of an unofficial member of their little circle as you share them some accomplishments you’ve achieved. Getting taught by you in their studies proved to be so much effective than listening to boring professors when Sweet Pea discovered he actually excelled at mathematics while Toni at history and Fangs at science, with Jughead not being surprised at the outcome. He did expect it since you were one of the most excellent students.
The four of them occupied the seats on the corner of the classroom, Jughead and Toni on the last row with Sweet Pea and Fangs on the front, unbothered by the subtle looks being thrown their way as you sat in front of them concentrated on a paper. You were seemingly working on another project for your family business.
Sweet Pea couldn’t help but stare at you, admiring how your structured features shift each time you come up with ideas. He wanted to ask you on something about the paperwork he was doing, but admiring you first seemed ideal in his head.
Feeling someone drill a hole on the side of your face, you turned to meet Sweet Pea’s eyes and your features softened, a warm smile spreading across your lips. He made sure to engrave it in his eyes.
“What’s up, Pea? You’re staring.” You chuckled, sounding like a soothing melody in Sweet Pea’s ears as his face also softens.
“I kinda need help with this,” He says, voice uncharacteristically quiet and warm, scooting closer to show you his notebook. “You okay with me bothering you for a bit?”
“Sure, I wouldn’t mind.” You shrugged and settled your pen on top of the desk, fully facing him to start explaining where he didn’t understand. Sweet Pea kept nodding each time you explained, his gaze never leaving your face yet still understanding everything you say, a subtle almost peaceful smile across his lips.
Both of you had failed to notice the three of your friends burning holes into the two of you.
“Are they…?” Jughead trailed off, pointing at you.
Both Toni and Fangs shook their heads, “Not yet, unfortunately.” They replied in sync before Fangs adds, “Though I think it’s a matter of time before Sweets make a move.”
“Bet,” Jughead smirks.
They weren’t wrong.

The Serpents and the Corefour with Kevin and Cheryl gathered in the cafeteria, unbothered by looks shot by Northsiders as they conversed among one another, light meals in front of each of them with the exception of Sweet Pea who was restlessly drumming on the table with his hands. He keeps looking back at the entrance, as if he expects someone to barge in any moment.
Toni and Fangs exchanged a glance with smirks before Jughead nudged Sweet Pea lightly to catch his attention. “Where’s your lunch?”
“Didn’t get any,” The tall serpent shrugged, but failing to hide his excitement despite his attempt.
“Right, ‘cause your boyfriend’s making you one.” Toni snickers, wiggling her eyebrows teasingly. Sweet Pea scoffed and rolled his eyes, but couldn’t resist the smile spreading across his lips.
The cafeteria doors opened as you finally enter with a lunch box and box of cupcakes in both hands, your eyes scanning across the room before falling on your boyfriend. A smile easily crossing Sweet Pea’s face when you waved enthusiastically and started rushing towards their table.
He immediately pulls you to sit on his lap and you peck him on the lips as a greeting, making your friends let out awes. You giggled after pulling away, making him smile. “What’s up, baby?”
“I made a lunch for you,” You showed him the round metallic lunch box with an excited grin. “It’s really not much, but I’m confident with my cooking skills so I promise it’s not poisonous. I also baked cupcakes!” Placing the lunch box in front of Sweet Pea on the table, you set the box of cupcakes down in the middle to ensure it wasn’t just for your lover.
Sweet Pea’s eyes sparkled in joy, his atmosphere radiating happiness that the Serpents had almost never seen him with. His anger issues tend to be the most noticeable trait of him, but ever since he got with you, they feel like it calmed down a bit. He kisses you on the cheek as a sign of gratitude before opening the lunch box and coming across his favourite foods, making his smile widen if that was possible. It made you smile softly, ruffling the back of his hair.
“Aww, aren’t there any for us?” Fangs asked, his arm thrown around Kevin’s shoulders.
“I want some too,” Toni whines beside Cheryl, attempting to reach her hand into the lunch box but being swatted lightly by Sweet Pea with a glare.
“Don’t you fucking dare.”
You laughed at their interaction and gestured to the thick and big box of cupcakes, “I couldn’t make lunch so I over-baked some cupcakes. Sorry pals, maybe next time.”
Everyone letting out cheers and noises of excitement, Cheryl stands up to open the big package and distribute each, the delicious sweet scent of baked goods making them sniff it. Awing at the sight of different flavoured cupcakes, Fangs couldn’t help but take a bite of his chocolate flavoured one, letting out satisfied noises before holding it out for Kevin to have a taste.
You also picked a banana flavoured cupcake for yourself after observing their reactions, pleased at the satisfaction and pleasant surprise coating their faces. Having a mother who opened her own bakery by your house had its perks; you were able to learn how to bake and cook many things through helping her, making it your new hobby. It also helped greatly in terms of charity work — you can share foods to people who aren’t financially capable and give them the opportunity to taste what they’ve never tasted before. Your father became even more proud that you’ve found more ways than one to help the people in need.
“This is so fucking good,” Sweet Pea remarks while munching on the lunch you gave him, oblivious to the loving gaze you had on him.
Everyone watches with soft smiles on their faces, how equally in love with each other you looked despite the obvious differences between your upbringing.
It came as a shock to everyone — except the Serpents — when the news spread that the nicest guy in Riverdale and the rage filled Serpent were dating. Some people placed a bet on how long it will last, some people showed their prejudice and disappointment, some people genuinely didn’t care.
Offhanded commentators were quickly shut off when the two of you displayed affection and love towards each other and ignored them entirely. No one could even tell you in person how much you let them down for associating with the worst one of Serpents because you always acted ignorant with too much happiness. If someone were to tell you that it was a terrible choice to date Sweet Pea, they were met with your passive-aggressive remarks on questionable choices they’ve made in the past that you somehow knew about. It got terrifying, to say the least.
The difference in your upbringing, status, or anything else didn’t matter at all. Neither of you judged each other for what you are.
Sweet Pea never questioned your unconditional kindness despite feeling upset when you let assholes slide, instead choosing to get angry at them for your sake. You never questioned his status as a gang member despite the several unpleasant rumours about Southside Serpents, instead choosing to learn what he does in their daily life and educate yourself.
The two of you fit together perfectly like a puzzle, as if you were each other’s missing piece. Arguments happen sometimes, but it’s quickly finished before the next day.
Really funny how the most healthy and non-toxic relationship in all of Riverdale is between a young Serpent and a young Humanitarian.
Unsurprisingly, the Serpents were quick to treat you as their own even before Sweet Pea had begun dating you. Your lack of judgment made every single one of them comfortable in your presence, often greeting you wherever you go and even helping you out when you need an extra hand, unafraid to be themselves knowing you wouldn’t think low of them. Your boyfriend’s friends were the most happiest at how their gang was being treated by you; all of them had nearly forgotten what it’s like to be seen as normal.
However, one question always remained in the back of their heads.
Could you get violent if pushed hard enough?
You never were.
There’s always an angelic halo floating above your head no matter where you go and no matter how aggressive your mouth gets. Sure, you spit out impressive insults sometimes when you get truly irritated by some idiotic behaviour, but that never really changed anyone’s perspective that you couldn’t hurt a fucking fly.
You were still soft, still kind. It’s impossible to even think about you having violent outbursts, it just seems too uncharacteristic of you.
Sweet Pea was always the one to throw fists when someone insults you knowing you’d never defend yourself. He’s the hot-headed while you were the cool-headed. It’s always been like that, and everyone refused to believe otherwise. After all, how can a Humanitarian go against what they usually do — helping people?
The obnoxious sound of Bulldogs’ laughter causes your smile to vanish in an instant as they approach with Reggie in front, leading them like a pack of filthy dogs as usual. Your friends stopped as well, each displaying a look of annoyance.
“What a bunch of losers sharing lil’ cupcakes,” Reggie mocks, earning snickers from his teammates.
Veronica rolled her eyes at their childishness, “Oh my god, just leave.”
“Shut up, bitch.” Reggie spat and Veronica was quick to hold her boyfriend Archie back, shaking her head to tell him it isn’t worth it. The Bulldogs laughed when the ginger sat back down, cockiness evident on their body language.
You caught Reggie eyeing the remaining cupcakes that were left on the box and quickly pulled it away before he could even reach a hand out, not noticing the way Sweet Pea was quieter than usual despite his nemesis’ arrival. “This isn’t yours, kid. Don’t even try taking one.” You sternly scolded, moving off of Sweet Pea’s lap to sit beside him closer to Reggie.
“Don’t fucking call me kid, I ain’t one.” The jock hissed, sharply glaring at you.
“Then quit acting like one.” You retort without missing a beat.
Letting out a scoff, Reggies lips twist up in a sneer. “At least I’m not acting like a pathetic little fag hanging out with other fags.”
“Reginald!” Cheryl shouts with disbelief, standing up abruptly at the same time Sweet Pea slammed his fist on the table while shooting Reggie a death glare. You quickly hold his bicep to calm him down, not wanting him to get in trouble. Everyone held unpleasant looks towards the nasty slur he just uttered, disgusted by his nerve.
“Fucking asshole,” Toni spat distastefully.
The Bulldogs laughed her off to themselves like a bunch of hyenas before Reggie’s gaze fell on Sweet Pea that didn’t seem to let his fist talk this time, a knowing smirk crossing his face. “What’s up, bro? You’re too quiet, we hit you too hard last time or something?”
You scowled and looked back at your boyfriend to see him glaring threateningly at Reggie, as if he was avoiding your gaze. “What is he talking about, Pea?” You question with a stern tone, then repeated it to the jock when he doesn’t answer, “What are you talking about?”
Reggie raised his brows, “You know nothing?”
“What are you talking about, Mantle.” You emphasised through gritted teeth.
Seeming amused by your slight impatience, Reggie tilts his head and mockingly chuckles under his breath. “Your little boyfriend here seems like he doesn’t know his place, so we taught him a lesson is all. You should put a tight leash on your dog if you don’t want dudes to jump him.”
Disbelief and anger morphed on your face, about to stand up from your seat to confront him more, only to feel Sweet Pea’s arm wrap around your torso to keep you in place. “Baby, don’t.” He whispered.
“What the hell, Reggie?” Betty gives him an incredulous look.
“Unfortunate that he didn’t fight back. Would’ve long been kicked out and thrown in jail if he did.” Reggie snickered along with his teammates before walking away, flipping the box of cupcakes in the process.
You glared after them with a clenched jaw and turned to Sweet Pea, your bright eyes piercing right through him that forced him to make eye contact with you despite his urge to avoid it. “Where are you hurt?” Your tone soft yet an edge to it, a suppressed anger only noticeable by Sweet Pea.
“I’m fine,” He tries to reassure you, turning to continue with his lunch.
“No, he said they jumped you.” You shake your head sternly and grabbed his shoulder to forcefully turn his body back, freezing when he yelped in pain and flinched. Sweet Pea swallowed, cursing himself internally for proving you right on accident, and looked up at you slowly. Your face was unreadable, which brought more nervousness on him.
Everyone watched as Sweet Pea sighs defeatedly and pull down his shirt to reveal the large bruises on his collarbone, your eyes widening and getting closer to inspect if it was shattered. Luckily it didn’t seem so, but your guts told you this wasn’t the only injury he got. Glancing up at Sweet Pea, you pulled up his shirt as gently as possible. Your breath hitched; a large, purple and yellow bruises littering his ribs and stomach.
“Motherfucker,” Fangs cursed in anger as rage filled him, Toni, and Jughead— however, before anyone could react, a chair loudly slammed against the floor from the sheer force of someone abruptly standing up.
A figure was sprinting towards Reggie in a flash, forcefully turning him around by the jacket before a strong fist collided with his face and he was tackled down to the floor. Gasps erupted all over the place as everyone in the cafeteria stood up in shock upon realising it was you, fearfulness appearing on their faces when you began punching him repeatedly without remorse.
Trapping Reggie under your body, you pulled him by his jacket only to punch him square on the jaw and slam his head on the concrete floor, pained noises leaving his mouth as he attempted to protect his head and face. Two Bulldogs scrambling closer to help Reggie while one of the others rushed off to call the Principal, you grabbed the arm of the guy who tried pulling you off of their leader and twisted it before kneeing his gut, making him fall to the floor on his knees. You used it as your opportunity to pull his arm to his back and dislocate him, a scream erupting from his mouth. The other guy swings his fist in your direction, which you dodged and kicked him towards a table, quickly grabbing his head to repeatedly slam his face on the hard surface.
Speechless was an understatement to describe what they felt witnessing the horrors of your rage with some trembling, some covering their eyes, and some unable to look away.
All you saw was red.
There’s nothing in your mind but to hurt the people that hurt the love of your life, dark and bloodthirsty eyes glinting dangerously as you look at Reggie’s bloodied state again. Blood pooled beneath his head as he coughed from the pain on his abdomen and head.
No one could recognise you — the gentle and soft atmosphere you usually surrounded yourself with being replaced by cold and lethal one. Rage is supposed to be foreign for someone as nice as you, but seemed fitting in this moment, as if you’ve been building it up within yourself until it exploded. The only ever push you needed was Sweet Pea being hurt to take everything out.
You were about to walk up to Reggie again before the sound of Sweet Pea’s voice calling your name reached you through the blood boiling in your head, and you stopped. Principal Weatherbee hurriedly rushed to the commotion, a look of terror spreading across his face after seeing you standing over Reggie’s beaten up state.
“Stop, stop, stop!” Weatherbee shouts, kneeling beside Reggie, who had passed out from the pain and shock.
Sweet Pea was the only one brave and courageous enough to approach you without hesitation, calling your name first to catch your attention as he gently pulled you by your forearm. “Stop, baby. That’s enough,” He whispered.
You stared Weatherbee down with calm rage and coldness that made fear dance across his face. “You teach your students to fight square and fair if they don’t want any more worse than this,” You muttered loud enough for him to hear, voice emotionless and non-remorseful.
Shifting your glare to the remaining Bulldogs that were frozen in their spot, they flinched when you stepped forward. “Gang up on my boyfriend again and I’ll fucking kill every single one of you,” You threatened with a murderous tone which told the graveness of it, making them nod their heads vigorously and care for their leader.
Weatherbee instructed them to bring Reggie and the two injured Bulldogs to the infirmary, then looked back at you with disbelief still on his expression. “Do you know what you have done? You could get expelled.”
“You think I care?” You challenged him, tilting your head. “They should’ve been expelled for what they did to Sweet Pea, but it wouldn’t matter because he’s a Southside Serpent, right? So I did exactly what they did to make them feel what it’s like, except it was just me alone. It’s a fair fight, Mr. Weatherbee. I don’t think I should be punished for making things equal between us.” You smiled, shrugging your shoulders nonchalantly before rolling your eyes and walking away with Sweet Pea’s hand in yours.
Sweet Pea pulled you down to sit with him and began inspecting your bloody, busted knuckles. You look up to see not only your friends but everyone else staring, causing you to scowl. “What?” You snarled and they all looked away in fear.
Sweet Pea shushes you with a look as you returned your gaze on him, flashing him an innocent smile. Rolling his eyes with a shake of his head, he takes out a midnight blue handkerchief from his jacket pocket to gently wipe off the blood from your knuckles. “You’re lucky you didn’t break any bones on your fist.”
You chuckled, “Babe, I literally learn martial arts. And they were the ones who got their bones broken.”
“Still, shouldn’t have done that.” He replied. “Let’s go to the infirmary, you need this disinfected.”
“If you want me to actually end up killing Reginald Mantle, then I’m down.” You smirked, earning a disapproving look from him.
Sweet Pea takes your glasses that you had removed before the fight with the Bulldogs and gently places it on the bridge of your nose, adjusting it so you’ll be able to see properly. “Babe, I really don’t think you should. I love you for it, I’ll fucking watch you beat the shit out of him over again, but it wouldn’t be good news for your family business if rumours spread you have violent tendencies.” He gave you a pointed look.
You scrunched your nose, “Only when someone messes with my Sweet Pea.”
“Being violent’s my job, baby.” He chuckles.
“Not really,” You pushed up your glasses with the tip of your middle finger before leaning on the table on your elbow. “Being constantly nice isn’t my job, sweetheart. I can’t really show humanity to someone who hurts you, and I promise this wouldn’t be the last time you’ll see me take revenge for you.”
Sweet Pea sighed.
He doesn’t want your reputation to be tainted; being the bad guy is not unfamiliar for him and he was going to keep it that way if it meant nobody thought of you negatively. You’ve worked hard to build trust among the community and proved yourself a kind and helping soul, Sweet Pea didn’t want people’s perspective of you to change. But it’s actually true how people misunderstood you; all you have is basic human decency, something which some people lack, you weren’t the divine only-do-good they perceived you to be.
You’re still human despite being more helpful and nice than average, so you obviously have imperfections — that is, not being able to contain your anger when the one you love is unfairly treated. You were intelligent, but sometimes, your fists speak for yourself when assholes tests your patience too many times. Sweet Pea knew that and always tried his best to prevent you from losing your temper, although it couldn’t be helped in this case.
“You were pretty badass there, dude.” Jughead remarks after seeing you’ve calmed down, getting over the initiate shock.
Fangs agreed, “Yeah, it was dope. We didn’t know you could fight.”
“And break bones.” Kevin added, astonished.
“Fucking lit,” Toni chimes in with a box of emergency kit in her hand that she placed on the table. You raised your brows, wondering when she got out the cafeteria to get it, but smiled nonetheless.
“But wait, you said you learn martial arts.” Archie spoke next with curiosity in his expression. “Where do you learn it? Since when?”
You chuckle at their excitement and eagerness, feeling happy for the lack of judgment. Sweet Pea starts tending to your busted knuckles as you reply to the ginger head, “My father’s a professional. He’s been training me and other kids who wants to learn self defence techniques. It’s part of the business.”
“So, you’ve always known how to beat up people but never did it before?” Fangs asked.
“Yeah,” You shrug. “It’s unnecessary to result to violence all the time. No one tested my patience as far as Mantle did, he really deserved that to shut up for once. It’s absolutely effective to people who can’t mind their own damn business.” Grinning almost childishly, the gang chuckles at your new side while Sweet Pea, unamused, presses the cotton ball a little too hard on your injury causing a hiss to erupt from your mouth.
He had a glare in his eyes. “Don’t fucking do that again, you’ll get hurt. You know those scumbags would get back at you.”
Your face softened at the concerned look in his eyes, how the hands that treats you trembled slightly. “Darling,” You softly called and intertwined your fingers with his. “You know I had to. They can’t gang up on you like that, it’s not right. I couldn’t see you hurt and just let it slide.”
Sweet Pea nibbled on his lower lip nervously, still a little upset.
“I know you’re worried about my reputation and all, but I’m your boyfriend, Sweets. You come first before that.” You ruffled his hair affectionately with your uninjured hand and smiled. “I don’t care about what other people think of me, I’m still going to defend you.”
Sweet Pea stared into your sincere eyes before sighing in defeat, looking down at your injured knuckles. “Fine. But promise me you wouldn’t take any hits, I fucking hate seeing you injured.”
You chuckled at the sternness in his voice and saluted jokingly, “Copy that, boss. That can be arranged.” He rolled his eyes with a smile.
Betty raised her brows, “Okay… Has this ever happened before?” Gesturing to you.
“Uh… kind of?” You grimaced, scratching your head, as everyone gave you a questioning look. “I didn’t really beat up anyone at that time, but I might have… punched a hole through the wall.”
They widened their eyes in surprise as Cheryl drops her jaw, “The science classroom!”
You winced and nodded.
Toni laughs with a shake of her head, somehow finding the situation funny. “Who knew the nicest boy had the beast within him?” She jokes. “I’m glad to see this more human side of you. You were always so nice it was almost unsettling.”
Smiling at her, you nodded in acknowledgement. That’s a comment you always heard from people, that you were unnatural for being too kind. You were taught since childhood how to be a decent human being but to never let anyone take advantage of you, so you were just balancing it out — no one ever saw this side of yours before because they weren’t being unreasonable. You only lose your patience when pushed hard enough.
You looked at Sweet Pea to see him already getting back on treating your wound, dabbing the cotton ball gently on the cuts, making you admire his every features. It was adorable how he cared for your reputation. Made you want to make out with him right then and there, but it wasn’t appropriate for a dining place.
Everyone looks at Toni when your attention focused on Sweet Pea, shaking their heads slightly. Not certain if they were glad or scared to learn new things about you that’s been unknown for a long time.
“You don’t have to worry,” Your boyfriend speaks up without averting his gaze. “He’s not easy to piss off unless you push the wrong buttons all at once.”
“Sweet Pea’s the wrong button,” You immediately added with a grin that resembled a Golden Retriever, except it seems actually threatening. “Couldn’t care less about my haters.”
Of course, none of them disagreed to that.

The next day, Reggie walks in with his tail tucked between his legs after seeing you leaned back on your locker with Sweet Pea and the entire gang. Your mouth chewing on a bubblegum, that stupid glasses of yours resting on the bridge of your nose as usual with an outfit that reminds everyone of an elite nerd student.
Bruises and cuts littered around Reggie’s face with a prominent black eye, busted lip and swollen cheek. His steps slow to not add pressure on his injured leg and bruised torso. The students stared at him as if he was something else, probably gossiping among themselves about how he’s the one who caused the nicest boy in Riverdale seem like a completely different person.
He scoffs. You’re not the nicest boy at all.
You can’t hold that title anymore after the incident, but Reggie knew he didn’t have the guts to mock you about it when your presence alone made him cower and feel small.
As he carefully walked through the hallway, your eyes finally catches his figure and darkens almost in an instant, bright expression dropping to a blank look. Your friends were quick to become nervous seeing your almost deadly look, although Sweet Pea found it fun and amusing. Reggie looked at you as he stopped, afraid that if he walked past you’re just going to swing at him.
You cocked your head slightly, eyes burning deep into his soul as you stared at him from head to toe and circled around him like a predator watching its prey. Reggie felt uneasiness cloud his chest. He would’ve never done something like that if he knew the consequences to it.
Bumping on his shoulder that made him hiss in slight pain due to the injury on his shoulder, you returned to your place and sneered. “Where did the big bad dog go? He afraid of the faggot now or somethin’?” You laughed mockingly.
Reggie licked his lips nervously, not meeting your gaze.
You leaned your head down to forcefully look at him in the eye, grinning at the fear there. “All of this is merely a warning, Mantle. You go after my boyfriend like that again and I promise it’ll be much worse.”
Gulping, he nods his head vigorously and scrambles away when you finally decided to let him go.
Sweet Pea snickers under his breath after Reggie’s gone, wrapping an arm around your shoulders and pulling you close. “Really cool, baby. He was so fucking scared!” Smirking smugly at his laughter, you wrapped an arm back around his waist securely.
“After what happened, you probably can’t hold the nicest guy reputation anymore.” Archie remarked which causes you to laugh in agreement.
“Yeah. Besides, I don’t even know who gave me that nickname.”
“For a quick information, it was Chuck and he actually did it to mock you but it backfired.” Cheryl stated and everyone hums, finding it makes sense.
You feel a little bit glad for lashing out, knowing not everyone will perceive you as this perfectly nice guy who could do no wrong. Having that kind of expectations are truly heavy on your shoulders when you’re not even half of what they expect. Your kindness isn’t infinity nor unconditional; it wears off like any human beings, you didn’t know why people thought otherwise when it came to you. It’s impossible to keep being nice when some assholes just ganged up on your boyfriend who’s never done anything wrong.
Sweet Pea’s always been precious to you. He’s the love of your life that brightens up your day, a ray of sunshine even though he’s got anger issues and you would do anything to prevent that brightness from wearing off. Now they know not to mess with him if they don’t want to get their asses beaten.
“Hey, Sweets?”
He hummed, turning to you. “Yeah?”
You peck his lips and smile, “I love you.”
Sweet Pea smiled back, pecking your cheek. “Love you too, baby.”
Beware of the nicest guy; no one’s ever allowed to hurt your boyfriend without the consequences of getting your fist on their face.

It was dark on the cold december night. I was hanging out at Sweet Pea’s place when the snow started coming down hard. Neither of us noticed, until we started getting cold. I felt the shivers and looked over at Pea, who was also slightly shivering.
“It’s cold in here.” I mentioned and Sweets nodded. He got up and checked the head, which was on. He looked out the window and his eyes widened.
“Uh, I guess it started snowing.” Sweets said and I got up to look.
“Oh my God…” I said as I looked at the snow quickly piling up. I heard my phone ring and quickly went to answer it.
“Hello?” I answered.
“Y/N? Where are you?” My brother, Jughead asked.
“I’m at Pea’s place.” I answered.
“Dad! She’s with Sweet Pea!” I heard him call out.
“Darlin’? You’re still at Sweet Pea’s place?” Dad asked and I nodded, before realizing he can’t see me.
“Yeah.” I answered.
“Stay there tonight, there’s a bad storm outside and it looks like we’re gettin’ snowed in.” He said.
“Yeah, Sweets and I didn’t realize it even started snowing until we both felt how cold it was getting.” I said and looked over at Sweets.
“You both are gonna be able to stay warm, right?” He asked.
“Yeah, I think so.” I answered.
“Good, alright, try and keep your phone charged. We might lose power.” He said.
“Okay, Daddy.” I said with a nod. We hung up and I turned to Sweet Pea.
“Guess we’re stuck here until the storm is over and people can start digging us out.” I said and he nodded.
“Fine by me.” He said with a small smirk. I rolled my eyes and started to rub my arms.
“Dad said he thinks we might lose power.” I said and Sweets groaned.
“We’re gonna freeze to death.” He said and I giggled.
“I might freeze first, so you can eat my body if you need to.” I joked. Sweets chuckled then noticed me shivering harder and rubbing my arms. He walked off and returned with a warm looking sweater. He tossed it to me and I happily put it on.
“That looks better on you then it does me.” He said with a wink and I blushed slightly. Sweets and I returned to the couch and started watching another movie.
Maybe half way through the power cut out. Pea groaned and I sighed. It almost instantly got colder. I checked my phone and saw Jughead had texted me. He was making sure my phone was charged and we were okay. I texted him back and told him that my phone was charged and that Pea and I would be fine. I started shivering again and Sweets looked over at me.
“Sweets?” I asked.
“Yeah?” He asked.
“C-Can we move t-to your bed?” I asked. He nodded and we both quickly went to his room. I rushed to his bed and wrapped the blanket around my body and felt a little warmer. Sweets left the room and came back a few moments later with extra blankets. I smiled and moved over to make room for Sweets. He got under the blankets with me and wrapped the extra ones around us. Sweets laid down and pulled me to lay on his chest. I smiled as I felt the warmth of his body.
“Imagine Jugs face if he saw us frozen like this.” I joked and Sweets laughed.
“He’d find a way to bring me back just to kill me again.” He said and I giggled. My brother was alway protective of me when it came to guys. When he found out me and Sweet Pea were dating, Dad had to stop him from killing my now boyfriend. Dad wasn’t exactly happy about me dating Pea either, but he could tell how happy I was with him. That’s the only reason he was a bit more lenient with us.
I could feel myself growing tired, but I didn’t really think I should sleep while being this cold. My eyelids were growing heavier and heavier, I could hardly fight it.
“Get some sleep, babe, it’s pretty much the only thing we can do right now anyway.” He said and I sighed.
“I don’t wanna freeze to death.” I mumbled. Pea chuckled and pulled me closer.
“I’m not gonna let you freeze babe, I’ll keep you warm all night.” He said and my eyes finally closed. I mumbled something in my sleepy state as I finally lost the fight.

As Intimate As Chocolate Cake

Description: When Toni is put in charge of the new menu for the Whyte Wyrm, she decides to use the opportunity to set up two of her friends
A/N: Loosely based off a scene from Hart of Dixie season 4, episode 5: Bar-Be-Q Burritos, where George and Annabeth are set up on a date by their friend Lemon

Cheryl Blossom walked into Pop’s, looking for Toni, but instead she found someone else.
Two someones, actually.
You’d been enjoying your strawberry malt and fries all by yourself when Sweet Pea had decided to join you without warning.
“Careful now - rumor has it if you drink too many strawberry milkshakes in one sitting, you’ll wake up as a strawberry.”
You couldn’t resist the urge to roll your eyes, dunking a pair of fries in the malt before bringing them to your lips. “Thank god this is a strawberry malt then, or I’d be fucked.”
He sat down in the booth across from you without asking, grabbing a fry before you could pull them away. “Milkshake, malt - same thing.”
“Nope,” you replied, popping the p. “Malts have malted milk powder; milkshakes do not.”
Sweet Pea pulled a face at that. “And why would you want that?!”
You shrugged. “Personal preference.”
“Weirdo.”
You looked up to give Sweet Pea a piece of your mind at that, but found him smiling instead. It was rare to see a smile from the Serpent, and seeing it made something that felt awfully like desire pool in your stomach. You ignored it, taking a sip of your malt while you gathered your thoughts. “Wow, a compliment? If I didn’t know any better, I’d think the world was ending.”
Sweet Pea snagged another fry, popping it into his mouth, the smile turning into a smirk. “Who knows? It might be.”
“Guess we’ll find out.”
Before you could respond to that, Cheryl interrupted. “Well, well, well. Fancy seeing the two of you here. And looking chummy, no doubt. What’s so funny?”
“The end of the world,” you quipped, causing Sweet Pea to snicker and you couldn’t help joining him.
“Haven’t you looked outside, Cheryl? Pigs are flying!”
Cheryl let out a huff, shaking her head. “Ignoring all that,” she said with a dismissive wave of her hand, “have either of you seen Toni? She said she would meet me here, but I can’t seem to find her.”
“Whyte Wyrm?” Sweet Pea supplied. “You know she’s been spending all her free time there ever since she became part owner.”
“I just didn’t think she’d get so caught up in it that she’d forget about date night!”
“Have you tried calling her?” You suggested, regretting it when Cheryl fixed you with a glare.
“Of course I’ve tried calling! She didn’t pick up and I-”
Just then, the door to the Chock’lit Shoppe opened, the bell signaling a new customer. The three of you turned to see Toni Topaz making her way over, pulling Cheryl in for a hug and a kiss. “Sorry I’m late,” she murmured. “Got a bit caught up reviewing the new menu for the Whyte Wyrm’s grand reopening.”
“You’re here now and that’s all that matters,” Cheryl said, her smile returning. “Ta-ta, you two. Don’t get too cozy over there.”
You and Sweet Pea burst into laughter once Cheryl and Toni were seated at the opposite end of Pop’s. “God, she can be so eccentric at times,” you giggled, shaking your head.
“I don’t know what Toni sees in her, but I’m glad the two of them have each other.”
“She sees in Cheryl what I have since elementary school: a girl with a lot of love to give who just needs someone to see her potential.”
Sweet Pea shot you a look as he grabbed another fry. “If you say so.”
“Hey, if I said the same thing about Toni, you’d be defending her, too. Cheryl’s my friend like Toni is yours - we go way back.”
“True.” You were almost taken aback when the Serpent agreed with you. He slid out of the booth before you could process what had just happened, but not before stealing a handful of fries off your plate. “Let me know when you’re here again - I can always get behind free fries.”
“In your dreams, Serpent!” You shouted at his retreating back, no malice in your voice at all.
- - -
“See what I mean?” Cheryl whispered to Toni, the two of them tucked away in their usual corner booth that surveyed the whole of Pop’s, splitting a milkshake. “There’s definitely something there.”
“Maybe,” Toni drawled, narrowing her eyes as she watched Sweet Pea duck his head and smile to himself when his back was turned from you. “I haven’t seen Sweet Pea look this smitten in a while.”
“Do you think they’d have a chance if we worked our matchmaking magic?”
“What is it you’re always saying? Sometimes the craziest ideas are the most brilliant ones?”
Cheryl smiled, leaning in to kiss Toni. “You’re absolutely right, Tonikins! Shall we start plotting now?”
- - -
“What’s up, Toni?” Sweet Pea growled into his phone, his frustration bleeding over from one phone call into the next. Fangs had been giving him shit for something and while he was glad to have Toni’s phone call as an excuse to hang up on his friend, he was still pissed.
“What’s up, Sweet Pea, is that I have the perfect solution to your dilemma.”
“What kind of solution?” He paused. “Wait. What’s my dilemma?”
“Nevermind that. Meet me for breakfast tomorrow morning so we can discuss.”
“Discuss what? I’m gonna need more details than that, T.”
Toni couldn’t help but let out a giggle. “All will be revealed tomorrow morning, Sweets. Riverdale Cafetorium at seven sharp - don’t be late!”
She hung up a moment later, leaving a stunned but obedient Sweet Pea in her wake.
- - -
“Cheryl? Is everything okay?” You asked when you answered Cheryl’s phone call. Before she’d met Toni, you and Cheryl spoke on the phone almost nightly; now she rarely called so you figured something had to be up.
“It will be. Meet me in the cafetorium tomorrow at seven?”
“Uh, sure? Why the phone call, though? You could’ve just texted.”
“Just wanted to hear your voice, YN. See you then!”
Nothing was said after that, the line going dead as Cheryl presumably hung up. “See you then,” you said into the void before going back to your nightly routine.
- - -
Toni and Cheryl were already seated at a table when you arrived, the two of them sharing a pastry as Sweet Pea looked on across from them.
“What’s he doing here?” You asked, unable to keep the harshness out of your voice. It was way too fucking early for this and you didn’t even have time for coffee.
“Calm down, dearie. Take a seat.” Cheryl was unusually perky but the tinge of obey me in her voice had you doing just that.
“Yeah, dearie. Take a seat,” Sweet Pea mimicked, and you couldn’t help shooting a glare in his direction. “But really, you two. What is it that was so urgent you couldn’t tell me over the phone last night?”
Toni sat up a little straighter, glancing at Cheryl briefly before she spoke, “Well, because Cheryl and I have a favor to ask. As you know, I’ve been stressing over the reopening of the Whyte Wyrm - particularly the menu - and I was hoping that as my friend,” she looked at Sweet Pea, “and my girlfriend’s best friend,” she looked at you, “that both of you would be willing to come over this weekend for a sample meal.”
“I knew she wanted something,” Sweet Pea leaned back, crossing his arms and muttering under his breath, and you couldn’t help but agree with that statement.
“Of course she did,” you said in the same tone before turning your attention back to Toni and Cheryl. “All you had to do was ask! Of course I will!”
“Me, too. But YN is right - next time just ask us. Not everything has to be a big scheme.”
His statement shocked you. The two of you hadn’t ever really agreed on much since Toni and Cheryl’s relationship had started, and now you were both agreeing with each other more than once in twenty-four hours? It was almost too much for you to handle. Sure, the two of you were polite and cordial with each other - for the most part - but lately it seemed to be getting out of hand.
“That’s really good advice, thank you,” Cheryl said, cutting in. “So, we’ll see you Saturday at eight? Oh, and dress real nice. Tonikins and I wanna see what the vibe could be like if we manage to bring in some fancier customers.”
And just like that, Cheryl and Toni stood up in unison just as the bell signaling first period rung, leaving both you and Sweet Pea stunned for the second time.
“Why do I feel like the scheming isn’t over yet?” Sweet Pea asked, turning to look at you.
Your eyes narrowed towards the doors where Cheryl and Toni had just exited. “Probably because it’s not…” Your voice trailed off as your gaze met his and you finally got a glimpse of his face up close and in broad daylight. A flash of his face from last night illuminated by the neon lights of Pop’s crossed your mind, specifically of him grinning as he popped a fry into his mouth. That same desire came flooding back and you knew you had to leave before you did something stupid and make a fool of yourself in front of the Serpent.
“See you Saturday at eight!” Sweet Pea called after you as he watched you walk away, wondering what the weekend had in store.
- - -
You sat in your car, putting the finishing touches on your lipstick and tugging at your dress one more time before taking a deep breath and getting out. After the ambush in the cafetorium by Cheryl and Toni, you’d spent more time than you cared to admit agonizing over your outfit, but in the end it was a no-brainer. You’d worn the dress you felt most confident in, pairing it with strappy heels and light makeup that accentuated your favorite facial features.
Seeing Sweet Pea all dressed up made you stop in your tracks. His version of ‘fancy’ was nice jeans and a button-down shirt with the sleeves rolled up to expose his forearms. His Serpent neck tattoo was on full display, standing out against the stark white of his shirt.
“Hey,” he said, crossing his arms and drawing your attention back to them. “You ready for this?”
“I guess so. There was never really an opportunity to back out now, was there?”
“Those two make it very hard to say no, don’t they?”
You huffed out a laugh, shaking your head. “Don’t I know it.”
Before either of you could say any more, the door swung open and out stepped Cheryl, clad in her signature red. “There you two are! Come on in! Welcome to the new and improved Whyte Wyrm!”
“You look…nice, by the way,” Sweet Pea murmured as he held the door for you, letting you in first.
A shiver of need raced through you at the feeling of his eyes on your body. You paused, looking back at him and meeting his gaze. “Thanks. You, too.”
Your mouth was practically watering as Cheryl set down a filet mignon in front of you. “And this is our bourbon-maple glaze filet mignon.”
“This looks delicious,” you said, smiling at Cheryl. “Give my compliments to the chef.” Toni stood off to the side, the first time you’d ever really seen her look nervous about anything.
“I gotta say, everything has looked fantastic tonight, Toni, and I’m sure the Whyte Wyrm’s reopening is going to be a huge success,” Sweet Pea chimed in, surprising you. You hadn’t really ever heard him give anyone a compliment, but you figured if anyone deserved a compliment from Sweet Pea, it was Toni.
“Thank you,” Toni murmured, nodding stoically.
“Well, you both have exquisite taste buds and despite how much you both have grown and changed over the years, I knew I could count on you-”
“Okay, what is going on with you?” Sweet Pea asked, the two of you exchanging a suspicious look.
Toni laughed awkwardly, trying to drag Cheryl away.
“Yeah, what’s so funny?”
“It’s just that we’ve all known each other for so long…” Cheryl trailed off, realizing her mistake.
“I knew it!” Sweet Pea clapped his hands, more excited than you’d seen him while he was stealing your fries at Pop’s. “I knew it!”
“Knew what?” Toni asked, her turn to look suspicious.
“You and Cheryl are out here trying to get YN and I closer so we can be some weird, messed-up version of the Breakfast Club.”
You let out a groan, shaking your head. “Seriously? Cheryl, you know how I feel about you trying to set me up with people! I thought we agreed you were going to stop doing that after eighth grade.”
Sweet Pea crossed his arms and your attention diverted to his delicious forearms once again. “And that’s why we’re here…this is a scheme within a scheme,” he tutted, giving both Toni and Cheryl a reproachful look.
“Excuse us for wanting to try to get the two of you to see in each other what Cheryl and I see in both of you!”
“This is just like that time Toni and Cheryl left us in the woods for some fucked up bonding experience over our hatred of Weatherbee.”
“Or when they sent us on that futile mission to the abandoned Southside High and we had to hide in the janitor’s closet until they were able to get us out.” Sweet Pea glared at them. “The two of you can be so annoying.”
“So fucking annoying,” you agreed, seething as more memories popped up where you and Sweet Pea had been thrown into situations thanks to Toni and Cheryl’s scheming.
“Do either of you want dessert or not? Cuz if you keep whining, Cheryl and I will just eat it ourselves.”
That shut the two of you up and Toni nodded, satisfied. “Enjoy your filet mignon.”
“We’ll be here,” Sweet Pea said, finally getting a chance to cut into his steak.
“Oh, fuck this is good,” you couldn’t help groaning at the first bite. “I had my doubts about a bourbon maple glaze on steak but this is…wow.”
“Mm-hmm.” Sweet Pea’s hum of approval sent another foreign feeling racing through you.
You tried to think of another conversation topic, but all you could think of was yet another time you and Sweet Pea had been forced together by either Toni’s or Cheryl’s schemes.
Conversation flowed pretty easily after that, and neither of you paid any attention when Toni slipped in and cleared your plates while Cheryl served a single slice of chocolate cake between the two of you.
The cake was delicious, maple syrup infused into the icing, of course.
“Fuck, this chocolate cake…Wow. You’d think Toni would’ve splurged and given us two pieces,” Sweet Pea shook his head as he brought his fork in for another bite.
“I know,” you agreed, nodding. “It’s like you’re stealing my fries all over again.”
“Ha ha,” Sweet Pea deadpanned, making you giggle. “Doesn’t Cheryl have some weird, fucked up saying for this?”
His question took you by surprise, but you knew exactly what he was talking about, rattling off the phrase as if Cheryl herself was saying it. “It’s the most intimate thing two people can do other than…” You stopped short, your eyes widening as you realized the final word.
Your eyes met Sweet Pea’s, his expression mirroring yours as you both finished the word in unison.
“Sex.”
The sounds of your forks hitting the fancy china were the only sounds in the room as the two of you processed what had just happened.
“Are they…?” You started.
Sweet Pea finished. “Trying to set us up?” You nodded and he pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed. “They better not be.”
“They’re really outdone themselves this time. It’s a goddamn scheme within a scheme within a scheme.”
“I mean, I just don’t understand why they think we would make a good couple. It’s so random and strange - no offense.”
You shrugged, truly unoffended even though you’d have been lying if you said you hadn’t been entertaining the idea all night. “None taken.”
“I’m still not convinced there isn’t more to this scheme.”
“God, I hope not,” you said, resisting the urge to run your hands over your face but you didn’t want to ruin your makeup. “There’s only so many schemes I can participate in during a year and I think I’ve already hit my limit.”
Sweet Pea looked around before leaning in, a smirk on his face. “What do you say we get out of here? We’re not technically dining and dashing because this was free, but I could definitely go for some fries and a chocolate milkshake.”
You didn’t have to be asked twice, dabbing your mouth with your napkin before pushing your chair back and heading out, Sweet Pea instinctively taking your hand in his as the two of you made a mad dash for Pop’s.
“Thanks,” the two of you said in unison as Pop Tate set your malt and Sweet Pea’s milkshake down in front of you, placing a large order of fries in the center of the table.
“I don’t know how I’m gonna be able to finish all these fries after the meal we’ve just had,” you said, eyeing the basket as you took a sip of your malt.
“I’m sure we’ll find a way if we sit here long enough.”
Your phone vibrated with an incoming text from Cheryl but you ignored it, turning your phone facedown on the table. Sweet Pea did the same and you couldn’t help feeling secretly thrilled that all his attention was now focused on you.
“So,” you started, picking up a fry, “Fancy a trip down memory lane?”
You didn’t think you’d ever seen the Serpent smile as much as he did tonight, and it was starting to affect you. Before tonight, you never would have thought twice about considering someone like Sweet Pea as boyfriend potential, but there was something about both Toni and Cheryl butting into your dating life to bring Sweet Pea in that was making you reconsider.
You reached for the last fry at the same time he did, your fingers brushing his. You recoiled as butterflies fluttered in your stomach, but it didn’t seem to affect him. “It’s all yours,” Sweet Pea said, gesturing to the solitary fry.
“You sure?” You hesitated. “We could split it.”
Sweet Pea shook his head. “Like I said, it’s yours.”
You couldn’t help the smile that bloomed on your lips as you dunked the last fry into the dregs of your malt. “Maybe there’s more to you than just a Southside Serpent.”
That made him chuckle and duck his head - and in that moment, he had never looked more attractive. “Well, maybe there’s more to you than just Cheryl’s sidekick.”
It was well past midnight when the two of you exited Pop’s, making your way to your separate vehicles.
You stalled at the door to your car, part of you not wanting the night to end. “I…had a lot of fun tonight.”
“Me, too.” Sweet Pea stepped closer and you sucked in a breath. “Maybe, we could do this again without Cheryl and Toni’s interference?”
“I’d like that. Are we counting this as a date?”
“I don’t know. Would you like it to count as a date?”
Not one to shy away from getting what you want, you decided to go for it. “Well, if you were planning to kiss me goodnight if this was a date, then yes, I would like tonight to count as a date.”
Sweet Pea towered over you, his eyes flickering between your eyes and mouth. You could hear your heartbeat in your ears as you stared up at him, waiting for him to make the first move. “I’d never turn down an opportunity to kiss a pretty girl goodnight.”
With that, your lips met in a tender kiss, the promise of something more lingering in the air when you finally pulled away. “Goodnight, YN,” Sweet Pea murmured, his thumb brushing over your cheek as he stepped back. “Get home safe.”
“Goodnight, Sweet Pea.”

Heartless Business
Character: Sweet Pea x male reader
Universe: Somewhere in Riverdale
Warnings: Smut
Your hands wandered greedily over the perfectly trained body pressed against you. Rough, calloused hands larger than yours did the same to you. He crumples your perfectly smooth buttoned shirt and desperately tries to pry it off your body.
Lips hastily kiss across your neck and jaw before traveling to your own lips. Right before they could touch, you stopped the oncoming head. "You want to kiss me a bit too much for a straight guy, don't you think?" you asked the other man in a cold, almost dismissive voice.
Through slightly blurry eyes, you could see him shrug with that stupid goofy smile plastered over his face. "Not everyone can have sex without feelings with anyone they want, you know?" That was a dig at you, but you ignored it. Instead, you stared into those deep dark brown eyes that you'd fallen into many times before, and in one quick movement, you pulled out his belt.
"How about you finally shut up and fuck me? Do the only thing a dirty slum boy like you is good for!”
It was like a switch had been flipped in his head. His happily shimmering eyes darkened, and the smile became predatory. At an unimaginable speed, he turned you around and slammed your head against the tiled wall. Only to bend you over seconds later. You could barely hold on to the sink to your left.
Without hesitation, he unbuckled your belt and pulled down your pants. He gently massages your cheeks with his big hands, only to press his middle against your crack.
A satisfied moan escaped your lips as you felt his massive, heavy, hard cock rubbing through his pants between your cheeks.
Seeing the uneasiness on your face, he positioned you so that you could place both hands on the sink to give you the needed space. But it wasn't all for you alone. He put you right in front of the mirror so he could see himself dominate a man he wouldn't have thought would even look at him just a few years prior. And indeed, the few times your paths have crossed, you've ignored him. Which only made him want you even more.
He took a long, hard look at you through the mirror before crouching behind you and pulling your cheeks apart. He teasingly breathed on your heated pink hole. It made you squirm.
"I swear by all that's holy if you don't stick your damn tongue up my hole right now! I'm going to walk away!"
A chuckle rumbled through your body, but not yours. "So bossy," he murmured while teasing you a bit more. "Think about it again when in a few moments, you'll be moaning my name and begging me to fill you up like the high-class whore you are!"
A strange feeling ran down your spine. Only this insufferable man could bring this feeling to you. But before you could be identified it. His rather long and large tongue - like everything else on its body - did what he had promised.
His name slipped from your lips so quickly that you wondered when he got so good at it. Because when he gave you a rimjob, he was awful. But you couldn't think about it for long because far too soon, instead of his name, incomprehensible moans echoed loudly through the bathroom.
But as suddenly as he went down, he got back up just as quickly. You turned your head around in confusion because you just got into it. There he was, lips puckered, ready for a kiss, but you just rolled your eyes. "Idiot," you mumbled. "As I said, a worthless guy like you is only useful for fucking, so does the one-"
Before you could finish your degrading tirade, he'd had enough of your dirty mouth. He put one hand over it. With his other hand, though, he went around your neck. Not only for stability but also to choke you. To prepare you for the one thing he knew would shut you up. With one hard thrust, his massive length and girth split you open.
The pain was so great that your eyes widened, but you didn't make a sound. "Ah, there's your pretty face again," he teased you while forcing your face up so you could look at each other through the mirror. He flexed his arm muscles around your neck while at the same time manually pulsing his cock in your heat. His teasing smile faltered and reverted to his predatory grin. "And you finally shut your obnoxious fucking mouth!"
You could see his dirty grin through unfocused eyes. Pulling yourself together enough to move your hand, but before you could do anything, he drew his cock out, making you moan only to ram it back in, eventually eliciting a small scream from you. "Come," he breathed heavily, "Say my name!"
You would never give him this satisfaction. And he wasn't pushing, just concentrating on not cumming in your heat immediately. "Shit, you're still so damn tight," he moaned in your ear. You didn't even realize that he was lying on your back and that his head was this fucking close to yours. "How is that- Ughhh- possible? Ughhh, damn it, so good!”
He talked too much for your liking, so much that this strange feeling in your stomach finally exploded. For a second, everything around you went black. You could feel your body relax, and then you were gone.
But only for a short moment.
"Ah, you're back," he happily confirmed, never stopping to fuck you deep and hard once.
Unable to comprehend what had just happened, they tried to push themselves off the sink. Only to see yourself held by a big hand. The hand that was on your mouth now engulfed your waist.
“What happened?“ You asked breathlessly.
"Sorry," he said apologetically, but you could see in the mirror that he was anything but sorry. "Fucked you too good. You came your pants.” His voice turned teasingly, “Just like a little teenage boy.”
"Idiot!" you mumble angrily. It wasn't the first time it happened, and only he could bring you to that edge, but probably the most humiliating. You hoped it wouldn't seep through your underwear.
You stared at him through the mirror, and he met your gaze. It felt almost romantic to you as he held and looked at you. So careful, but totally destroying you at the same time. It was in stark contrast to what you believed he would be as a lover, a total brute. As you looked at him two years ago in a meeting where he was staring you down, you thought he would destroy you, pull out when he was done, kick you to the floor, and spit on you before walking away. But you were completely wrong.
Your hands greedily wandered back to his buttoned shirt once you had regained the strength, trying to open it to no avail.
"What are you doing?" he asked, laughing. It had sent another shockwave through your body.
“Open… Chest!“
He just shook his head, still grinning from ear to ear. Without even losing his fucking rhythm one bit, he pushed you forward again and used the hand he had been holding your neck with to unbutton his shirt.
Another groan escaped your throat as you saw his heavily tattooed chest. The centerpiece of this art piece was the snake tattoo on his neck. "Happy?" He asked you, slapping your butt a few times.
But you were already at it, massaging his muscular pecs and impressive eight-pack. The road from the boyish-looking guy he was to this peak of masculinity he became was a steep one. You've always found him attractive, even when you first met him many years ago. But it wasn't until you saw him shirtless two years ago that you became really interested in him. Now you would keep him even if he didn't look like an old god.
Yet, deep down, you hoped that he would never change again. You love his more well-kept looks too much.
You were engulfed in the sexual fog, staring at him through the mirror, watching his face contort whenever he began to pound you regularly. Like a rag doll, you let him do what he wanted with you.
Let's face it: whatever he would do to you, you would enjoy it. Every little touch of his rough hands, obviously used for lifting heavy loads. Every single look through his cloudy dark eyes. Every grin he shot your way. And every thrust he gave you. You felt alive, wanted, and desired, something no other man could do before him.
When the two of you weren't shagging, his eyes were filled with concern for you. He was always quick at your side if something happened or if someone got too close to you. He has cock-blocked you more than a hundred times in the last two years just to help you get rid of your sexual frustration afterward. He even went so far as to give you permission to use his body however you wanted. He never had to be afraid of anything because the first time you two shagged in the same bathroom you're in now, you said straight out that you're a pure bottom and don't shag guys who aren't exclusively tops.
He remembers how direct, headstrong, manly, and unbreakable you were. It made you stand out from all those weak, feminine bottoms whose antics made them seem more like women than men. Something that really put him off. It made it even easier for him to agree to your terms.
He told you that when you both finished and started getting dressed.
But what didn't he like about you? That his massive cock didn't unable to walk you. Which could only mean one thing, and he hated it passionately.
Let all those memories float in your foggy brain. A sudden click happened that most certainly could almost be heard from outside.
Confused and shocked, you turn around to him just in time for him to let out a deep moan and fill your ass with his hot cum. His hands gripped your waist painfully, but you didn't care. Not even that he fell on your back, with his head so god damn fucking close to yours again. His overheated breath tingles down the skin of your neck, along your jaw, and even on your lips.
You could only stare at him, annoyed and angry. He certainly felt the intense stare as his eyes suddenly opened. Realizing what he was doing, he cleared his throat and straightened his back but stayed inside you for a moment longer. He pulled his suit jacket from his arms, wrapped so tightly around them that it seemed like they were about to rip apart at any second.
His whole body was wet and glistened in the glow of the lights.
"How long?" you asked, totally out of it.
"About an hour," he replied cockily.
"Shit!" you exclaimed loudly. Slowly pulling yourself off the huge cock that broke you open once more. "Our fathers will be back any moment. We have to hurry!"
Shortly after that realization, you pulled your pants back up, and as you buttoned them, you looked back. When you saw him leaning against the tiled wall, your knees became like jelly. He was a feast for the eyes, too hot for his own good.
Before he knew it, you were kneeling before him, swallowing his semi-hard cock, fully down your throat and tickling as much as you could with your tongue. He let out a surprised, voluptuous moan.
When you took him out again, you made sure there was no cum left on it before kissing its top. When you came back up, you popped a peppermint in your mouth. "I need to make sure my favorite part of yours is clean, don't I?" you asked teasingly, successfully turning the tables on him. But still with a cold, calculated mask on your face. Almost as if the mind-blowing sex you just had never happened.
You saw a faint blush rushing over his face for the first time since you knew him. He tried to hide it by looking away quickly.
You could only laugh at that as you grabbed your buttoned shirt, which had ended up in the sink at some point. When you buttoned it up again, you could feel an all-too-familiar stare on you. You couldn't keep a smile from spreading on your lips as you caught a glimpse of the handsome man, as his eyes followed your delicate fingers.
Before you reached the last button, you suddenly stopped moving your fingers, confusing the tall, broad man and forcing him to look you in the eye.
Unlike usual, he was not confronted with coldness, arrogance, or even disdain. It was more of a neutral glint in your eyes.
Just as he was about to say something, you lunged forward. And before you knew it, he had your right arm in an iron grip. You weren't shocked. After all, he was once a street fighter. "What was that, little mouse?"
You hated that name, and he knew it, but instead of stopping it, he is using it to annoy you. "Just a mint. Asshole," you mumbled the last part.
Frowning, he looked at your hand, not believing your words. But as he inspected your hand more closely, he actually found a peppermint between two fingers. Slowly, still unsure, he loosened his grip and extended his hand so the candy could be dropped in it.
Instead of doing so, however, you moved your hand closer to his mouth. Annoyed, he opened it to say something, but before he could say something, you stuck your fingers inside and dropped the candy onto his tongue. Before you could pull them out, he closed his mouth in shock and pressed his tongue against your fingers to keep them in place. Feeling the hot warmth and wetness of his tongue sent a shockwave right back to your cock, waking it up again.
An awkward silence settled over the two of you after finally getting your fingers back and drying them on the side of your shirt.
He let the candy drift through his mouth, still quite confused as to why you did that. But when he moved a little bit, you were freed from the spell too. It gave you the possibility to get your jacket.
He let himself slide down the wall a bit, somehow disappointed. He folded his arms across his chest and finally spoke up again. "What is your second favorite part of me?" He asked, mumbling. His face distorted in frustration.
"My third is your upper body," you whispered. Suddenly very close to the other man. Before he knew it, you pressed yourself against him. Gently you took his chin between two of your fingers and turned his head towards you. Your face was already extremely close. It only took the blink of an eye for your lips to collide with his. So gently that the taller of the two could barely feel it, and yet it finally happened.
He didn't move an inch. Too shocked by your lips on his mouth. Something he had dreamed of for years. Now that it finally happened, he was frozen, and you had all the power. But the kiss didn't last long, to his greatest dismay.
He wanted to pull you back and give you the kiss you both wanted. But before he could, you were already out of his reach. "Just so you know, I'm not heartless," you told him angrily. "And for the books." You got slightly closer to him again, whispering the next part into his ear, "You're the only idiot I've fucked within the last two years."
It shocked the other man so much that his mouth opened wide, and his intense gaze on you became even more fierce. You had already turned your head away and were looking straight at the door where you were heading to. Without looking back, you opened it and left.
The other man was confused. His heart was fluttering and aching at the same time. Even small, hot balls of water gathered in the corners of his eyes.
When the door opened again, he quickly wiped away the tears before they could be seen. "Your eyes, Sweet Pea. My second favorite thing about your body is your eyes. After all, they were the part of you that made me fall in love with you.”
Your cheeks were already flushed before you could even say a word; when you finally expressed your true feelings, they were so red you could have been mistaken for a tomato. Feelings that, until today, you had no idea you even had. Sweet Pea was completely shocked. He couldn't reply to you before you were gone again.
But one thing is for sure. He would soon make you his. Now there were no more obstacles to overcome. With your feelings in the open field, he had everything he needed.

"Alright that's all, please feel free to continue about your days." Tommy said as the family meeting was coming to an end.
Y/N Shelby sat in a chair back pressed against the large book shelf that stood opposite the door.
"I have something I'd like to say." She announced as everyone began to exit. "Something I need to say." She clarified.
Freezing in their tracks they all stop to look at the young girl before looking over to her father to see his reaction. Tommy took a few moments to also assesse his daughter before taking a seat back at his desk prompting everyone to reclaim their seats.
"And what is it that you would like to say?" Tommy asked pulling out a cigarette from his jacked pocket and lighting a flame.
"I've decided to leave." Y/N announced her eyes scanning over the different reaction of her family. "I'm gonna be moving out next week and my stuff will be gone by the end of the month."
The room was eerily silent as the family knew that in situation that concerned Y/N and Tommy it was best to stay quiet but present incase thing were to get out of hand.
Keeping his eyes on this daughter, Tommy let out a sigh before removing the cigarett from his mouth setting it on his desk along side the lighter.
"Moving out?" Tommy asked the 15 year old making sure he had heard her right. "And who exactly do you plan to do that?"
Y/N watched as he interlocked his fingers and leaned forward on the desk, at least he was taking her seriously.
"I'm going to move in with my mum." She answered adjusting her posture as she struggles to hold his gaze. "I've been in contact with her and she invited me to come live with her."
"And how, may I ask, did you get in contact with your mother?"
"No."
"No?"
"You may not ask." Y/N stated knowing that anyone involved in helping her would pay a price heavier than their 'crime'. Tommy scoffed maybe he would find this situation amusing if not for the context.
"So you, through unknown means, were able to contact the woman who dropped you off to our doorstep and disappeared without a trace and now fifteen years later expect me to allow you to just fuck off with her to god knows where?" Tommy summarized. "And you're running off with a stranger on the promises of lollipops and rainbows, does she even have a place for you to stay?"
"She was young back then, she couldn't raise a child on her own."
"I was young too, but I took care of you because you were mine." Tommy countered. "While she was too irresponsible to take care of her own child."
"She's different now, she married to a nice man...." Y/N defended her mother. "I've got sibling...they all live in London in a nice house."
"And how do you know any of this is true?" Tommy asked rubbing his hand across his forehead in frustration. "She could be telling you anything to get you to London."
"I know cause I've seen it. I've been there. met them." She confessed angrily looking to her father for insinuating she was some stupid child clinging to word with nothing to back it up. "I went to meet her last month, the week I was gone."
"Last month?" Tommy asked standing from his seat coming around to lean on the side of the desk facing her full on arms folded across his chest. "When you told me you were going to visit your friend Olivia? Though I suspect she doesn't exist."
"She's one of my sisters." She clarified avoiding eye contact for a few moments before looking back to her father's face. "I spent time with them. My stepdad is a nice man, he's a banker, he treated me nice. When mom said she wanted me to live with them he said he wouldn't mind."
"A banker? and what is they call him?" Tommy asked reaching back over to the desk to retrieve his cigarette and lighter. Y/N was hesitant at first but know he would find out sooner or later.
"Anthony Crestwood." She sighed.
"Right, Isaiah."
"Yeah Tom?"
"I need you to get the address of the the Crestwood family, I'd like to have a call with Mr. Crestwood and his wife." He informed the young blinder never looking away from Y/N.
"Your going to call them?" Y/N asked only slightly confused seeing as he had every right to want to speak to the couple who would be housing his daughter.
"Yes. Yes I am." Tommy answered lighting the cigarette between his lips. "And I will be informing the Crestwood family that upon their arrival to Arrow House in an attempt to remove my child there should be no doubt in there minds that at that exact moment their home will be burning to the ground." Taking a drag of the nicotine he watched as his daughter eyes widened in disbelief as she stood from her seat.
"You can't do that."
"I can." Tommy replied. "I can and  I will but not if you don't make me. It's time you learned action have consequences" He said pointing at her with the cigarette between his fingers.
"So this is how it's going to be?" She asked. "You don't care about be so that means that no one else can?"
"I care for you, you know what I do but you have chosen to forget that in the wake of one mistake." Tommy shouted
"'It's time you've learned your actions have consequences' or does that not apply to you, just everyone else?"
"So this is a 'consequence' an attempt for you to punish me for how I've wronged you." Tommy accused.
"God are you kidding- No!" Y/N shouted. "This is an attempt to free myself. this is an attempt to not have nightmares every time I close my eyes because for the last few months that all it ever is! Because every time I look at your face the only thing I can see is that man laughing and telling my that my father didn't give a damn about me and believing him because I had no prove to say otherwise.
I've tried to forgive you, you have no idea how badly I want to. How badly I want to run to you like when I was younger and think that you'd never let anything hurt me, that the worries of the world don't exist inside the comfort of your arms but I can't.
So no Tomas...I'm not doing this to you, I'm doing this for me."
The two stood there both looking into each other's eyes it was only then that Tommy truly saw how broken his daughter was on the inside and Y/N saw how desperate her father was to keep her.
"I fucked up. I know I fucked up but you have to see that I am trying." Tommy admitted. "That I can't make this better if you run away."
"I know you are...but I can't get better if I stay."

Summary: Sweet Pea/Reader, Reader comforts Sweet Pea as he confronts a fear of public speaking
Sweet Pea has been in more near death experiences than he can count. He’ll always come away from it laughing a little, everyone chalks it up to shock and they make jokes once everyone is safe and the bruises or wounds have healed by a few days.
“Seriously guys, that was nothing compared to my one true fear.”
“Nah I would rather do that ten times again than face my real fear.”
“I can handle it, I fear way worse.”
He has an endless parade of comments and jokes to make and everyone teases that his biggest fear is losing you. He doesn’t comment back on that and everyone keeps teasing him about how hard and fast he’s fallen for you, considering you’ve only been dating for a shorter time.
“Sweet Pea are you okay?” You wave your hand in his face. He’d been staring at Pop’s wall and occasionally taking bites of his burger.
“Yeah, I just forgot about the presentation part we have to do.” He shrugs but you can see the way his hands shake, the same way they do when he thinks you’re in danger.
“You don’t like public speaking?” He chokes out a laugh and you don’t say anything else, you know he’ll just avoid talking about it, but you can also see how truly terrified he is.
“It’s, It’s fine Y/N you don’t, it’s fine you don’t need to bother, I ca-I can handle it on my own.” Sweet Pea’s smile does reach his eyes and you sigh through your nose at him and offer a reassuring smile.
“I Already did this last week, I know you’re nervous but try running through it a few times with me.”
“The problem is it isn’t you! When I think about talking in front of everyone, for class, they’ll, they’ll find out how stupid I am.”
“Didn’t you already get a ninety five on this project?”
“Yes but…”
“So you just have to tell everyone about it.” You smile and Sweet Pea does his best to look convinced, he’s actually a horrible liar.
“How about you just tell me what you want to say now, and I can write little notecards to help?”
“Yeah that sounds good.” He’s not looking you in the eyes and you know he’s just agreeing so you feel helpful but he points to the printed out slides he’s using for reference as he talks. You notice he only stutters twice, and even then it’s only over some of the more complicated scientific words.
“What if you pretend there’s other people here, would that make it worse? Just pretend it’s me and Toni.” He nods and closes his eyes before opening them and restarting the presentation; you notice he stutters four times, and backtracks over half of part of it he had no problem saying only moments ago.
“The notecards might help.” He sighs after he’s been quiet for a few moments, and you realize he’d forgotten what he wanted to say completely.
Sweet Pea grimaces but nods to the teacher who nods back.
“Good job. That’s all for today, we’ll get to the second half of the presentations tomorrow.” Sweet Pea can’t help but chuckle at how Reggie and Archie groan, thinking they had both gotten out of presenting.
“You did so well baby!!! I’m so proud of you!!!” You smile at him, fingers running through his hair as he slumps in the chair gathering his strength for a minute, you know having to do that presentation was terrifying for him, and you’d told everyone to meet at pop’s later. None of them had questioned it, as far as they knew you were the one that had a huge fear of public speaking and Sweet Pea was comforting you.
The class is empty now and you sit on his lap, hands curled in his hair.
“You did so well, I’m so proud of you.” You hum at him and he grins nodding slowly, you can see how tired he is.
“Did you pretend everyone was naked?” You laugh when he blushes.
“Don’t think I could picture you naked and talk at the same time.” He chuckles and then nods towards the door, assuring you he’s okay to go to Pop’s.
“I did just pretend I was talking to you in my trailer, like when we practiced.”
“I mean that did lead to me being naked.” You laugh when he blushes again.

Red Car pt. 2
Requests open.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sweet Pea POV.
I stood watching the red car fade away, just like I had so many months ago.
"Sweet Pea you need to learn to control yourself"
"I know I do" I looked from the shadow down to the ground again as Josie came down the steps to my side. A moment ago I was ready to ask her to be my girlfriend.... Again .... For the like 10th time..... What happened to me? Was Fangs right? Was I losing myself to fit her?
"I can't have any bad press if I'm to become even more of a star, I don't need them focusing on the guy I'm seeing, how cliche" I slightly scoffed at her comment. She can't call us what we are, like yn and I couldn't call us what we were. That felt different. That was a relationship without labels, this is labels without a relationship. I'm Josie's hobby, her toy, her busywork.
"Josie why can't we be seen publicly together?"
"Sweet Pea, you know why, I'm building a brand"
"So I don't fit that brand?" I almost whispered before turning to face her full on. I don't fit that brand, I was never supposed to fit that brand. I was supposed to have a great senior year, be myself, find who I was without yn and instead I slotted into someone elses life when all along I just wanted to get through this year to slot into yns life. I belonged there. She would make room for me.
"Sweet Pea, we're having fun, why is it always so serious with you" she reached for my hand but I pulled it away from her.
"Ive had enough, find someone else to be your groupie" I turned back away before she could answer. I just wanted to see yn and Fangs. Make sure everyone's okay. I can't believe she's home. I gotta get to Fang's trailer.
~
3rd Person
Fangs laid across the sofa of his trailer, an ice pack held to his forehead by you. You gave a kind smile to the Serpent as he slowly fluttered his eyes open. Groaning, he attempted to put a bruising hand to the back of his head where fresh several stitches slotted together perfectly. You calmly moved his hand back to his side while shushing him gently, his eyes falling closed again. Toni sat across from you watching you carefully.
"We missed you YN, a lot of crazy things have been happening around here"
"I can only imagine" you gave a small laugh to her as she cracked a beer open and passed it to your hand. You hadn't drank since you left Riverdale, needing to stay focused in the intense environment of University but less than one hour in the more intense environment of Riverdale had sent you craving the cold bottle.
"Try to stay awake now Fangs, here hold this to your head if you can" you guided his hand to ice pack, his eyes fighting to stay open.
"Your bedside manner has improved YN" the three of you laughed at this before you moved to put the medic pack back in the kitchen. You decided to leave the things from the kit in your car in it, knowing the Serpents would need it more often than you. As you looked for a place to tuck the kit into, Sweet Pea almost crashed through the door, Fangs flinching to the sound.
"Fangs! Oh my god! I'm gonna fucking kill those hockey heads!" He sat at his friends side, Fangs unable to hide his smile, you watched grinning from the kitchen, Sweet Pea not noticing you there.
"It's okay SP, YN fixed me up, I'm hoping I get a gnarly scar"
"I suppose she ran off again" Toni and Fangs slightly tensed at this remark.
"No SP, right here" his turn to jump at the new noise. He stood up almost untrusting of his feet as you moved into the sitting area again.
"Come on Fangs, I'll help you into bed"
"I knew this was just a plot to get me into bed with you Toni" he laughed, allowing Toni to pull him up to his feet and support him as they walked into his room.
"No need, I was just going, talk to you guys tomorrow, rest up Fangs" you gave a small wave before exiting the trailer to your car again. Silence filled the trailer, Fangs and Toni looked directly at Sweet Pea while he stared at the door. He finally sighed before following you, the two remaining serpents grinning.
You tried to get the red car to turn over, it struggling with the task. Sweet Pea pulled the door open and slid in next to you, a place he hadn't been in months.
"So.... I hear you're dating a rockstar now" you broke the silence, starting to give up on trying to get the car to start.
"I was yeah...well I was seeing her is the way I'm sure she'd prefer I say it but she probably actually would prefer I don't say anything at all about it" Sweet Pea threw his head against the headrest.
"Yikes"
"Yeah, yikes... I guess some things never change, can't quite get out of the secret relationship stage, if that's even a normal stage to be in" he trailed off, silence returning. You moved to start the car again trying to break up some of the silence. Sweet smiled at you before rolling his eyes, leaning over you and twisting the keys until the engine finally gave in and turned over.
"I waited for you to come home at Christmas" he moved away again from you but kept his eyes on yours.
"I just couldn't be around you and Josie, Fangs told me about her"
"Yeah he wasnt too keen on her"
"Were you?" The question Sweet Pea asked himself almost every time after being around Josie. He shook his head.
"I wish I went with you YN, I really wish I went with you"
"I wish you did too"
"Nothing stopping me now" you met his eyes before he leaned across again to meet your mouth. Memories of Summer months past where all you had was one another flooded your mind. The sound of banging glass broke the two of you apart and you looked out the windscreen to see your two serpent friends smiling wildly giving you the thumbs up and cheering from behind the net curtains. Sweet Pea rubbed a hand down his face laughing to himself as you chuckled alongside him.
"Yanno this was his plan all along YN?"
"Yeah it wouldnt surprise me if he took that chair to the back of the head to be a team player" you smiled before it fading away at the memory of what brought you two back together.
"C'mon SP, we have to go pay a visit to someone"
"I'll go anywhere with you" he cupped his hand over yours as it moved the gearstick into action, the red car going willingly.
The time has come, my friends, to say good-bye.
I have decided that it’s time to delete this account— along with the works that have been produced here— and start anew.
I will be reposting edited, revamped versions of all my work, as well as new projects that I have been working on for the last year.
For those of you that decide to follow me on my new journey— I so look forward to this adventure and can not wait to start posting.
For those of you that decide it’s time for us to part ways— I thank you, from the bottoms of my heart, for all the love, support, encouragement, and every interaction whether it was big or small. This blog has been my home for five year and even though I’m sad to see it go, I know that it’s time for growth and change. And none of that would have been possible without every single one of you.
Linked below is my new home, where I will continue to create worlds and build something for those who wish to share it with me.
Again, thank you all for everything. I hope to see you soon— and if I don’t just know that I wish you all the happiness in the world with all the gratitude I have.
With all the Love, Xx.
During our junior year Sweet Pea had started gaining a bit more weight. It was noticeable, but me and our friends really didn’t care. As long as Sweets was happy that’s all that really mattered. I would love him no matter what.
Currently I was sitting in the gym waiting for Sweets to come out of the locker room. They had just finished basketball practice and Sweets and I were gonna go on a date. I heard the door open and laughter fill the room. I looked up with a smile, but it quickly disappeared. Sweet Pea was pushed out of the locker room with his shirt off and his team mates laughing at him.
“Y/N! Look at your loser of a man!” Reggie called and I glared at him.
“Leave him alone, Reggie!” I shouted, but he just smirked. Reggie walked over to me and pulled me over to where they were bullying Sweets. He held my arms behind me and forced me to watch what they were doing.
“Now why the hell is a sweet little Northside girl like yourself doing with this fat snake?” He asked as I struggled.
“Let me go Reggie! Leave Sweets alone!” I said. Sweets tired to run to help me, but his team grabbed him and held him back.
“I mean look at his tits jiggling! How could you find a fattie like him attractive?” Reggie continued as the team laughed. Sweets couldn’t even look me anymore.
“You should be with someone a lot hotter, someone like me.” Reggie said and kissed my cheek.
“Get the fuck off me!” I shouted and managed to get my arms free.
“What’s wrong Y/N/N? You’re way too hot to be with this fat ass.” He said and I glared at him.
“Just fuck off, Reggie! All of you! Get the fuck away!” I shouted. Their eyes widened and Reggie shrugged.
“Come on guys, she’ll see soon enough.” He said and the team dropped Sweets then left the gym. I ran over to him and kneeled down next to him.
“Sweets, baby, are you alright? Did they hurt you?” I asked and he shook his head.
“Fine…” He whispered and got up. He went back into the locker room and I waited for him to come out. When he came out with his normal clothes on I gave him a smile, but he just walked off. I quickly caught up with him and walked next to him.
“Baby, do you wanna just go home?” I asked and he nodded.
“Alright, can I come with you?” I asked and he sighed.
“I guess…” He mumbled. I gave him a small smile, even though he wasn’t looking at me. I wanted so badly to grab his hand and hold it tightly, but I knew Sweet Pea and I knew he would just pull away, maybe even blow up on me. So the two of us silently walked to his bike and we got on. We drove to his trailer in silence and walked inside. Sweets dropped his things and trudged off to his room. He shut the door and I sighed. I waited a few moments to give him a bit of space, but I eventually went to his room. I knocked on the door and waited for him to say something, but all I heard were muffled sobs.
“Sweets?” I quietly asked as I peeked my head into the room. He looked up at me and he had tears streaming down his face.
“Oh baby…” I said and made my way over to him. I sat down next to him and pulled him in for a hug.
“They’re all fucking right! How could you choose to be with me when you can be with someone like them… You’re too hot for a fat fucking loser like me…” He cried and I held him tighter.
“Don’t you dare say that about yourself!” I said and pulled him to look me in the eyes.
“Sweet Pea, I love you more than anything in the world. I don’t give a shit what you look like, I’m not some superficial bitch that cares only about what her boyfriend looks like. I love you for who you are. But if you really care that much I still think you’re one of the hottest guys at school.” I said with a smile and he shook his head.
“You’re only saying that because you feel bad for me.” He said and I shook my head.
“I am not! Sweets I love you more than anything in the world, I really don’t care how you look. As long as you’re happy, that’s all that matters.” I said with a smile. He sighed and looked down at his lap.
“I still think they’re right…” He whispered.
“Then I’ll be here every day to convince you otherwise.” I smiled and grabbed his hand. He looked up at me and returned my smile.
“You’re too good for me.” He said and I shook my head.
“Nope, I’m just perfect for you.” I said and kissed him. He pulled me down and we cuddled in his bed.
“I promise I will always love you, Sweet Pea.” I whispered as I played with his hair.
“I’ll always love you.” He whispered back. I felt him starting to relax a bit and eventually he fell asleep. I smiled down at him and made a silent promise. I would not let Reggie and the team get away with what they did to my boyfriend. No more sweet little Northside girl, as Reggie said.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Sweet Pea was seeing red.  His body was fuming with anger, his hands shaking as he raced through Riverdale.  Everywhere his dark eyes looked, people were rioting.  Cars were on fire, people were smashing windows, and fights were breaking out.  He had never seen anything like it, but he could understand why it was happening.  He had a burning rage within him.  His chest ignited with a wrath that he had never felt before.  He wanted to destroy everything within his path and cause those Northsiders the same pain he was feeling.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎They ripped his child away from him, and he would make them pay.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎He decided to start with Riverdale High, where his troubles began.  It was there that Midge was murdered, it was there that Fangs was arrested, and it was those people that hurt (Y/N) and took his child away.  When he arrived, the front door was busted, and he could hear his fellow Serpents’ wild whoops and hollers as they destroyed the school.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“Serpents!” Sweet Pea shouted as he crossed the threshold of the school.  His eyes glowed with vengeance as his voice resounded through the entrance hall, earning the attention of the Serpents on the school's first floor.  A few bounded down the stairs, curious to hear what their unofficial leader had to say.  Sweet Pea watched them crowd around him, their chests heaving with adrenaline and their mouths pulled into sick grins.  His eyes slowly took them in, sneering as he spoke. "(Y/N) is in the hospital.  Those Northside assholes hurt her tonight, and she lost the baby.  My child is gone, Fangs could die, and the Northside is to blame!  What are we gonna do about it?”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎As he told the Serpents the news, they started to bounce with anticipation and their fists clenched with irritability.  One of them turned and kicked a trash can, sending it barrelling down the hallway as trash flew out of it.  A menacing grin stretched across Sweet Pea’s lips as he raised a fist, his hand forming the sign of the Serpents. "I said, what are we gonna do about it?!”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“Let’s bring ’em hell!” A Serpent shouted, earning cries of agreement from the surrounding crowd.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“Hell, yeah!” Sweet Pea affirmed, watching as the Serpents around him raised their sign, eyes alight with a new type of fire. "Let’s burn Riverdale to the ground!”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎The Serpents rallied with one another, shoving each other with a newfound intensity to their motives of destroying the town.  Sweet Pea took off in a path of violence, pulling his switchblade from his pocket to slash through posters and throwing his fists through the glass in the classroom doors.  He was on a rampage, blood boiling as he destroyed anything within reach.  Punching lockers, kicking glass displays, dragging his switchblade through the walls.  He was a hurricane of destruction, and he wasn’t going to stop any time soon.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Maniacal laughter fell from Sweet Pea’s lips, his eyes wild with a twisted type of glee as he ransacked the school.  His body was still shaking with anger, but the act of wrecking one of the places that the Northsiders held so dearly was like a breath of fresh air.  A misguided sense of clarity settled into his mind, telling him that this was helping him deal with the grief of losing his son.  This had to help him.  He didn’t know how else to handle it.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎The only sounds heard throughout the school were the Serpents shouting as they defaced anything in their paths.  It was a beautiful sound to Sweet Pea.  It was the sound of justice, rebellion, and revenge.  This was what the Northside deserved.  They deserved to watch their home burn, to watch it topple to the ground at the hands of those they spit and stepped on since the town’s founding.  It was time for the Serpents to take back Riverdale, and Sweet Pea would be the leader of it all.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Sweet Pea stabbed his switchblade into the wall, dragging it down with him as he descended the stairs, ready to rain hellfire down onto the next precious building that the Northside loved.  The blade slashed through a poster of the original Riverdale High building, his lips curling into a grin as a furious yell escaped them.  He threw a desk over, his determined steps never ceasing, even when Archie Andrews asked him to.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“Serpents, stop!” Archie shouted at the other end of the hall where Sweet Pea stood.  Sweet Pea sneered, his eyes bright with a beastly type of glee as he strode down the hallway, eager to take his anger out on the redheaded Northsider.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎He darkly chuckled, turning to address his fellow Serpents as he continued down the hallway, walking backward with his arms spread wide. "Well, fellas, looks like we found some Bulldogs to put down.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Sweet Pea sneered as he faced the group of Northsiders again, eyes narrowed into a glare as the Andrews boy tried to defend his side of town. "Sweet Pea, I swear, Reggie didn’t shoot Fangs.  It was Mrs. Klump.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“Bull!” Sweet Pea spit, “I saw Mantle with the gun!”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“Then you also saw me tackle him before he got a shot off!” Archie countered, his voice raising defensively. "It was Midge’s mom.  She’s down at the station.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“Yeah?” Sweet Pea’s brow twitched, taking the redhead’s resistance as a challenge. "And Fangs is still clinging to life.  Did you know that (Y/N)'s at the hospital right now?  You mangy mutts hurt her, and now you better pray to whoever the hell you think protects you because you people killed my kid.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Sweet Pea snarled, his lip curling with a horrible disdain directed toward the Bulldogs in front of him.  The Northsiders were too stunned to speak, and Sweet Pea reveled in it.  He glared at all of them, his jaw locked as he scornfully said, “And whether it was Reggie or Mrs. Klump who pulled the trigger or took my girl out, a Northsider put them there!  You took our friend, our land, my son . . . And you’ll take everything if we give you the chance.  So now you get to watch as we burn your school to the ground.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎As he spoke, Sweet Pea grabbed a trashcan and emptied it before hurling it into the trophy stand they stood beside, yelling in anguish before turning his fiery eyes to the Northside teens in front of him.  They watched with wide eyes as they prepared to fight, bouncing on the balls of their feet as they tightened their grips on the baseball bats in their hands.  Sweet Pea smirked, pulling his switchblade from his back pocket.  He held it by his side, his fist so tight around it that his knuckles were turning white before he flicked it open, letting the blade shine threateningly under the moonlight filtering through the windows.  His eyes never left Archie’s, his gaze sharp enough to cut him as his jaw clenched.  He was prepared to rumble like never before.  He was going to take the Northside down, Bulldog by Bulldog.  He would go through all of them with a smile to avenge his son.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎But, he never got the chance to start.  The front doors flew open to slam against the walls, earning the attention of the Serpents and the Bulldogs.  Principal Weatherbee slowly entered, holding his own baseball bat over his shoulder as he looked over the teens before him.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“What the hell do you boys think you’re doing to my school?” Principal Weatherbee shouted, his eyes narrowed as he glared at the teens.  Sweet Pea shifted, his fingers dancing over the cool metal of his switchblade as he stared down at the old man.  He didn’t care about getting in trouble, especially not with Weatherbee of all people.  He hated Riverdale High even before this; he’d gladly be expelled for destroying the property.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎What he wouldn’t do, however, was be thrown into a holding cell while (Y/N) was struggling to come to terms with losing their child, and he knew that was a possibility when Sheriff Minetta appeared beside Principal Weatherbee.  His heart hammered in his chest, and he made the split-second decision to run.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“Scatter!” Sweet Pea shouted, turning and bolting down the hallway that he came from.  He could hear several pairs of feet pounding on the linoleum flooring, but all he cared about was getting out of there.  He never looked back.  He just kept running.  Even after he escaped the school, he ran.  He didn’t know where he was going or if he’d circle back to get his bike, but he somehow wound up in front of the hospital again.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Like the sheriff’s station, the hospital had a growing crowd of people surrounding the building, but his large, intimidating frame allowed him to push his way to the front doors with ease.  He immediately spotted (Y/N) and Toni at the reception desk.  (Y/N) was signing papers, her hand shaking as she repeated her signature across so many lines that she lost count.  Sweet Pea knew she was stressing over how she would pay for everything; that was a conversation they’d had several times.  It wasn’t as if her parents had good insurance; no one on the Southside did.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎It was as if all his anger disappeared the longer he stared at (Y/N).  Just a few paces away, her hand running tiredly through her hair as she leaned on the counter, Toni rubbing soothing circles into her back as she checked herself out of the hospital.  He found that happening a lot; he wasn’t angry anymore when he was near her.  She brought him back from the ledge, back from his destructive habits.  She was his safe space.  And he left her alone in her time of need.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Sweet Pea took a shuddering breath, shuffling a few steps closer to her.  His hand shook as he gently placed it on her shoulder, his heart breaking when she flinched under his touch.  (Y/N) whipped around with a gasp, hands clenched by her sides before she realized who it was.  Sweet Pea carefully watched her.  He noticed how her arms twitched as if she wanted to hug him, but she stopped herself, and he noticed how she started to nervously chew on the inside of her cheek.  Her lip quivered, her chin wobbling slightly as she fought back tears.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“I’m sorry,” Sweet Pea whispered, reaching for (Y/N)'s hand.  His eyes stung with unshed tears, and he knew he was on the verge of losing it, especially if she turned him away.  He let out a long breath of relief when she let him take her hand in his, and he immediately pulled her into him.  His fingers wove into her hair, holding her head to his chest as his other arm secured around her waist, his hand bunching the leather of her Serpent jacket.  (Y/N) immediately started crying, staining his shirt with tears as her body shook horribly.  Sweet Pea bowed his head, his face burrowing into her hair as he also began tearing up. "God, I’m so sorry, (Y/N).”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Sweet Pea felt (Y/N) shake her head, the movement limited by his tight hold on her.  Her hands fisted into his shirt, pulling him closer to her.  Sweet Pea sighed, raising his head so he could rest his chin on the top of her head.  His eyes found Toni’s, and he mouthed a silent ‘thank you' as his arms tightened around (Y/N)’s body.  Toni simply nodded, her face pulled into a tight, sad smile as her arms crossed over her chest uncomfortably.  Sweet Pea knew she didn’t do well with emotions, and he couldn’t imagine how out of her element she felt.  Sweet Pea wasn't good at handling emotions either, but having (Y/N) in his arms made it easier.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“I shouldn’t have left.” Sweet Pea said, his fingers gently scratching (Y/N)'s scalp before he pulled away from her, his fingers cupping her face so she could meet his eyes.  The remnants of mascara streaming down her face and her bloodshot eyes made him sadly shake his head, his thumbs running over the dark streaks and clearing her skin of the mess. "I shouldn’t have left you.  I just . . . I just needed to break something.  Or, honestly, a lot of things.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎(Y/N) hiccupped, her hands tracing invisible patterns over his torso as she shook her head.  Her voice was quiet, sounding scratchy with exhaustion. "I know, I know.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎(Y/N) leaned into his touch, her eyes closing as she sighed.  Sweet Pea leaned down and pressed his lips to her forehead, humming as he felt her relax into his body.  He wrapped her in his arms again; he didn’t want to let her go.  He’d gotten a lot of his anger out of his system, which didn’t mean he wasn’t any less furious, but he could ease his mind off of it the longer (Y/N) held onto him.  He wanted to rip the Northside to shreds, but he could breathe and forget about it right now.  He had his girl in his arms.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Sweet Pea could feel his phone vibrating in his pocket, but he ignored it, wanting to keep even just a sliver of the somber peace they found themselves in.  Instead, he simply held (Y/N) tighter, knowing that he was probably the only thing keeping her together right now.  He shut his eyes, kissing the side of (Y/N)'s head as he held her to his chest.  He felt her arms tighten around him, her arms looping up so her hands could grasp the backs of his shoulders.  She had stopped crying, but her body still trembled with silent tears.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“I love you, Sweets.” (Y/N) finally said.  Sweet Pea almost didn’t hear her; she was so quiet. "So much.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Sweet Pea sighed, nodding as he pulled back once more to softly place his hands on the sides of her neck.  Her eyes were glossy, but there weren’t any tears lining the waterlines.  Yet, he knew that she wasn’t done crying.  Their grieving process was going to be a long, long road.  He rested his forehead on hers, the tip of his nose brushing hers. "I love you, too, baby.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎(Y/N) craned her neck up, letting her lips hover over his as she whispered, “We’ll get through this as long as you’re with me.  I can’t do this alone, Sweet Pea.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“You won’t be.” Sweet Pea was quick to assure her, his eyes never leaving hers. "I promise, (Y/N).  I’ll always be by your side, always.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎(Y/N) nodded, her eyes closing as she eliminated the distance between them.  She sighed as she kissed Sweet Pea, her hands moving to his chest to grab the lapels of his Serpent jacket.  Sweet Pea returned the kiss with fervor, pulling her impossibly close as he poured everything he felt that night into her.  Love, betrayal, fear, anger.  Sweet Pea let a small groan fall from his lips when he pulled away from her, his chest heaving as he let out a long breath.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎His thumb brushed across the high point of her cheek, tickling her lower lashes as he met her eyes again.  He could see everything she felt swimming in her irises.  Exhaustion, love, grief, everything that he was feeling.  His chest tightened, and he shook his head again, his heart heavy with the realization that he had hurt her by leaving.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“God, I’m sorry.” Sweet Pea said, his voice breaking as he felt a new wave of emotions wash over him.  (Y/N) shushed him, her hand pushing his hair away from his forehead so she could see his eyes better.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎(Y/N) shook her head, and Sweet Pea watched as her eyes danced between his before she spoke. "You’re here now, Sweets.  That’s all that matters.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Sweet Pea sighed and nodded, his hands running up and down her arms as he tried to push away what he was feeling.  There were too many people around, and there was too much going on for him to lose his cool.  Toni slowly stepped up to the couple, her hands playing with her phone as she glanced between Sweet Pea and (Y/N).
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“I know things are really tense right now, but Jughead needs us at the Wyrm,” Toni informed them, clearing her throat as she broke the bubble Sweet Pea and (Y/N) had created.  Sweet Pea huffed, nodding as he grabbed (Y/N)'s hand and wove his fingers into the spaces between hers.  Then, the trio set off, piling back into Lucinda’s car so they could head to the Whyte Wyrm.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Jughead met them out front, waiting with the rest of the Serpents that he could round up before leading them inside.  Sweet Pea kept (Y/N) close by, only letting go of her hand as they got out of the car, and the couple settled near the pool table, their safe space in the bar.  If (Y/N) wasn’t around, Sweet Pea always found solace at the pool table, focusing intently on the game to keep his mind off whatever was troubling him.  Toni headed to the bar, snatching up three shot glasses and filling them with the first liquor she could grab before joining Sweet Pea and (Y/N).  (Y/N) declined, partly still from the habit of looking out for her baby and partly from knowing that the painkillers the doctor had given her and alcohol wouldn’t mix well.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Sweet Pea gratefully took the shot, throwing it back in a large gulp and letting out a sharp breath as he set the glass on the table behind him.  He slung his arm over (Y/N)'s shoulder, keeping her close as they waited for Jughead to say something.  (Y/N) settled further into Sweet Pea’s body, her arms wrapped tightly around her stomach.  Sweet Pea’s fingers found hers around her waist, and he gripped them tightly, essentially locking her against his body as her head rested on his chest.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Jughead paced the center of the room, chewing on his fingernails as he thought.  Sweet Pea carefully watched him, his teeth pulling his bottom lip into his mouth as his nerves started to get the better of him.  Jughead was nervous, and it was putting Sweet Pea on edge.  He didn’t like how Jughead was acting.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“You got something to say, Jones?” Sweet Pea asked, his eyes narrowing as he looked over the smaller boy.  Jughead glanced his way, his shoulders tense.  Sweet Pea sighed, trying to act nonchalant as he rolled his eyes. "Spit it out, man.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Jughead sighed, a hand running down his face in exhaustion.  His fingers gripped his jaw, his eyes downcast as he prepared to speak.  Sweet Pea’s shoulders straightened, knowing this would be a colossal information bomb.  His grip on (Y/N)'s hand tightened, and his body shifted slightly as Jughead began to speak.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“The Ghoulies have been released,” Jughead announced, pausing to let the information sink in.  Whispers erupted around the bar, each Serpent now suddenly on edge.  Sweet Pea felt (Y/N)'s spine straighten against his chest, letting a small amount of space take residence between their bodies.  Sweet Pea scowled, and his heart hammered in his chest, but he fought with himself to remain centered.  He couldn’t let his anger get the best of him, not anymore tonight.  Jughead held a hand up, silencing the murmuring around him. "They’re attacking Pop’s as we speak.  Now, I’ve called my dad, and -- “
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“No.” Sweet Pea interrupted, letting go of (Y/N)'s hand and taking a step away from her.  He felt (Y/N) reach out for him, he heard her quietly ask him to stop talking, but his protective streak pushed away his want to listen to her.  So instead, he took a menacing step closer to Jughead, “No, we’ve gotta do something.  We can’t let them just storm back into town like they own the place, okay?  We can’t allow that.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“We’re not doing anything, Sweet Pea.” Jughead sternly said, pointing a finger in his direction as he raised a brow at him. "We’re going to lay low, okay?”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Sweet Pea scoffed, rolling his eyes as he squared his shoulders, preparing to go head-to-head with Jughead over the matter. "You’re really just gonna make us sit here and do nothing?  No, not me.  I can’t just sit here -- “
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Jughead rushed Sweet Pea, grabbing the lapels of his jacket and forcing him into the column behind him.  Sweet Pea grimaced as his back made contact with the post, but he kept the pain off his face.  Instead, he glared at Jughead, shaking his head as the Jones boy tried to intimidate him.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“You don’t have a choice, Sweet Pea.  You’re staying put.” Jughead shoved against him again, and this time, Sweet Pea retaliated and pushed Jughead off him.  Sweet Pea’s face hardened, his jaw clenching as he gathered himself.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“You said it yourself.  The Ghoulies are back!” Sweet Pea shouted, standing to his full height and stepping toward Jughead.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Jughead shook his head, turning away from Sweet Pea. "We will deal with them.  As soon as my dad gets back -- “
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“Oh, so you’re not our leader, all of a sudden?” Sweet Pea countered, eyes narrowed as he pointed at Jughead.  He watched Jughead’s face fall at his words, which only emboldened him. "Oh, no, that’s right.  You’re just the guy that got Fangs shot!  You’re just the guy that got my son killed!”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“Watch it,” Jughead warned, but Sweet Pea barrelled over his words.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“And now, Fangs might die!  And the Ghoulies are out for our blood because of the drag race you started.” Sweet Pea menacingly said, his finger on Jughead’s chest before he shoved him back.  Jughead had planted his feet so he couldn’t stumble backward, but the action did throw his shoulders back.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Jughead fell silent, and in the quiet, Sweet Pea glanced toward (Y/N).  Her eyes were focused on the floor, her bottom lip quivering as she tried to keep her reaction to Sweet Pea’s harsh words inside.  Sweet Pea’s shoulders dropped, his angry stance disappearing instantly when he realized how crass he’d been with his words.  Jughead sighed, bringing Sweet Pea’s attention back to him.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“An hour.  That’s all I’m asking for, Sweet Pea.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Sweet Pea felt his walls building back up, and he shook his head, rolling his eyes as he turned away from Jughead.  He needed space; he needed time away from everyone.  He marched toward the back door, fist pounding on the post Jughead had pinned him to as he passed it.  He heard the shocked whispers and exclamations at his revelation, but he couldn’t bring himself to care.  The Ghoulies coming back was just the icing on the cake, another thing he had to worry about.  Another thing he had to protect (Y/N) from.  He slammed the door shut behind him, taking a deep breath of the crisp April air.  His back collapsed against the brick wall before his shoulders slumped forward as he braced his hands on his knees.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Sweet Pea closed his eyes and shook his head, mentally cursing himself for being so cruel in how he spoke about (Y/N)'s miscarriage.  He knew he hurt her.  He knew his unexpected words ripped open the incredibly fresh wound of losing their unborn child.  God, why did he have to do that?  Why was he always saying the wrong thing?
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎The door opened and softly shut beside him, a stark contrast to his entrance into the alley.  He knew immediately who it was, even if she hadn’t spoken yet.  Even as a Serpent, (Y/N) was always so much more gentle than anyone he knew.  She was too good to be a Serpent, but it was her right to be one.  The Serpents raised her; she wouldn’t be where she was today if it weren’t for them.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“I know you’re feeling a lot of emotions right now, Sweets, but I think you should apologize to Jug.” (Y/N) softly said.  Sweet Pea sighed, and his head hung lower, shame rolling through his body.  Just another emotion he had to pack away for the night.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Sweet Pea steeled himself, letting his shoulders straighten, so his entire back rested on the brick behind him.  He shoved his hands into his pockets and let his eyes wander toward the sky.  He could see Orion's Belt, one of the only constellations he knew.  Of course, he wouldn’t know any of them if it weren’t for his first date with (Y/N).  She had convinced him to go stargazing, laying out an old, tattered blanket on the edge of Sweetwater River with their Serpent jackets as pillows as she pointed out all the different constellations.  Sweet Pea’s head lolled on his shoulder, eyes immediately finding (Y/N)'s.  She was leaning against the brick with one shoulder, her arms crossed over her chest as she peered up at him through wet lashes.  She had been crying, and Sweet Pea started spiraling into another round of self-deprecating thoughts.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Sweet Pea dryly chuckled, shaking his head as he turned to her, mimicking her stance. "I should apologize to you first.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎(Y/N) hummed, nodding as she bit her lips.  She reached out and took Sweet Pea’s hand, her hand so small compared to his. "While I would appreciate an apology, Jug is our honorary leader.  He’s under a lot of stress right now.  We all are, and you lashing out at him isn’t helping.  He comes first right now.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“No, he doesn’t.” Sweet Pea immediately said, shaking his head as he stood up off the wall.  He stepped closer to (Y/N), his free hand brushing a strand of hair from her face as he urged her to meet his eyes. "You’ll always come first for me, (Y/N).  Baby, I hurt you, and I am so fucking sorry.  God, I’m sorry.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎(Y/N) stared up at him, her eyes still rimmed with redness from the emotions of the night’s events.  The corners of her eyes were starting to become irritated, a sign that she had been wiping her tears far too often.  Sweet Pea’s face softened, and his eyes dropped to her neck, where a single chain hung.  One of his rings was looped around it, a sign that she was forever his.  He wanted her to wear it on her finger, but the drastic difference in the sizes of their hands wouldn’t easily allow that, so they opted for her to wear it around her neck.  Regardless, however she wore it, it was still a symbol that she was it for him.  He just hoped that he was it for her, that he was the one she would spend her life with.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“I know you are.” (Y/N) said, her fingers squeezing his as she sighed. "And, yeah, I’m pissed as hell at you, but you coming back to me is more important.  I hope you know that.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Sweet Pea nodded, his mouth drawn into a tight line as he struggled to grasp how mature (Y/N) was acting about everything.  God, if he were her, he’d be giving her the silent treatment into the next century.  He knew that anything he said next would be matched with a wise statement, conveying how much she loved him with such pretty words.  Sweet Pea reached out and pulled her closer to him by her waist, the cool leather of her jacket feeling like ice against his hot skin before he leaned down and placed a sweet kiss on her lips.  (Y/N) sighed against his mouth, the hand not holding his wrapping around his head to weave into his hair.  She hummed, her eyes shut as she pulled away and rested her forehead against his.  A small smile danced on her lips, the first one that Sweet Pea had seen all night, and he felt his lips twitch to return it.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“Hmm, now that that’s settled, let’s go apologize to Jug, yeah?” (Y/N) asked, her eyes peering up at him with nothing but love.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Sweet Pea playfully groaned, throwing his head back in faux anguish. "You’re really gonna make me apologize to Jones?  C’mon, baby, stop bein’ mean to me.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎(Y/N) giggled, biting her lip as she watched the playful boy she knew return.  Everything had been so emotional, so serious, and Sweet Pea was grateful for this small break from it all.  (Y/N) always knew how to make him feel better, even if his mood was to come back two minutes later.  The couple reentered the Wyrm, (Y/N) intent on having Sweet Pea apologize to Jughead, but he was nowhere to be found.  A part of Sweet Pea was relieved; he wasn’t sure he had it in him to apologize for wanting to defend and avenge his lost son.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Jughead got the hour he wanted from Sweet Pea because it was near that long before he returned to the Whyte Wyrm, this time with Toni and Cheryl Blossom in tow.  Sweet Pea hadn’t even noticed that Toni had left the Wyrm.  (Y/N) had settled onto the pool table, sitting on the edge as Sweet Pea circled it with his pool cue in hand, but his movements ceased when Jughead threw open the doors with a newfound determination in his steps.  Sweet Pea warily glanced toward (Y/N), rounding the table to stand beside her as his hand found its home on her thigh.  (Y/N) immediately placed her hand over his, and Sweet Pea knew that Jughead’s anxious entrance had her throwing up her defenses.  Something terrible had happened.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Jughead found his way to the middle of the bar, again taking center stage as he prepared to drop even more news on the Serpents waiting for his command.  Sweet Pea’s jaw clenched slightly as Jughead paced, and it never relaxed as Jughead spoke.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“The Ghoulies aren’t the only ones on the loose tonight,” Jughead announced, beginning his speech.  Out of the corner of his eye, Sweet Pea saw (Y/N) turn her face toward him, her brows furrowed in questioning and a silent plea for him to keep his anger in check.  His eyes flickered down to meet hers, and he gave her a slight nod before returning his attention to the Jones boy.  Jughead had paused, looking at the Serpents around him. "Penny Peabody has made a return to Riverdale, and she captured Toni.  I was only able to get her back on one condition: We rumble with the Ghoulies at dawn, or we ship out, and they get Sunnyside.  She wants the Southside.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Jughead could hardly finish his sentence before an uproar started throughout the small crowd of Serpents.  Sweet Pea felt (Y/N)’s hand tighten over his, and he could see her body stiffen with fear.  He had to admit that Jughead’s words sent a wave of panic down his spine, but he covered it with a hardened stare directed at the Jones boy.  Sweet Pea’s eyes swept over the Serpents surrounding him, and he knew he had to speak up.  They were tired of folding at other people's hands; they had to fight.  They had to protect what was theirs.  They’d already lost so much, they couldn’t just hand Penny Peabody the Southside like wounded puppies.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Sweet Pea opened his mouth to speak, but Jughead decided to voice his opinion on Penny’s ultimatum before anyone could get a word out. "Now, we don’t need anyone else getting hurt, not after tonight.  I don’t see another way to avoid that, so I vote that we try to stall her until we can -- “
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“No.” Sweet Pea interrupted, just as he had done earlier.  He knew the power of his voice, how much that one word could instill fear in others, and he watched as Jughead’s eyes flew to him in questioning.  Sweet Pea gave (Y/N)’s leg one last squeeze before he stepped away from her and into the small circle Jughead stood in. "It’s time we end the Ghoulie scourge and that traitor, Penny Peabody, permanently.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Jughead had backed up, his arms crossed over his chest as he watched Sweet Pea attempt to rally the troops.  His eyes narrowed at the tall Serpent, “Sweet Pea, two hours ago, your fight was with Reggie Mantle.  Now you want us to go to war over territory that we don’t even control anymore?  This is Hiram Lodge’s problem, not ours.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“So, you’re just gonna hand over Sunnyside Trailer Park, our home, to Penny and the Ghoulies?” Toni spoke up, standing from her seat beside Cheryl to join Sweet Pea’s opposition against their honorary leader.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“Toni, I don’t want us to die.  A rumble with the Ghoulies right now?  It’s a suicide run.” Jughead said, taking long strides to stand before her.  Sweet Pea’s fists clenched by his sides, his hand itching to reach for his switchblade, but he knew he couldn’t threaten Jughead.  Serpent Law wouldn’t allow it.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“It’s better than a coward’s death.” Sweet Pea lowly said, opting to fight with his words over his switchblade. "Don’t we have to defend ourselves?”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“Calm yourself -- “ Jughead began, invading Sweet Pea’s space with a finger pointed in his face.  Sweet Pea snarled, eager to use his fists in place of his words if it came to it, but the Serpent King seemingly materialized out of the shadows, ending the skirmish between Sweet Pea and Jughead.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“That’s enough!” FP Jones’ voice sounded, his tone loud and resounding in the small space of the Whyte Wyrm.  Sweet Pea’s head flew over his shoulder, piercing eyes finding FP as he entered the circle in which Jughead, Sweet Pea, and Toni were facing off.  His face was solemn as he looked at the Serpents around him, and Sweet Pea felt his heart drop.  FP was the Serpent King for so many reasons, one being that he could hide his emotions as if it were second nature.  But, Sweet Pea could see it in his eyes as he took slow, calculated steps into the middle of the Serpents.  Something was wrong.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎FP sighed, his eyes meeting Jughead’s as he spoke. "I just got a call from the Sheriff’s office.  Fangs, uh . . . “ FP trailed off, sharply inhaling as he shook his head. "He didn’t make it.  He’s gone.”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Sweet Pea’s shoulders slumped, and his gaze immediately fell on (Y/N).  She looked pale as a ghost, and he knew she was blaming herself.  If her jumbled words earlier that night weren’t proof enough of that, her glassy eyes and shaky hand covering her mouth as her head shook were a dead giveaway.  Sweet Pea thickly swallowed, immediately disregarding all ill feelings toward Jughead as he crossed the small space and joined (Y/N), holding her tightly against his side as Jughead asked his father for confirmation that Fangs really was dead.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎FP nodded, stepping closer to his son with a new fire in his eyes. "And we will mourn him, hell yeah, we will.  But first, we will honor him.” Sweet Pea let his eyes meet Jughead’s, a silent agreement to put their differing views behind them to follow FP’s command.  (Y/N) let quiet sobs rack through her body, her face buried in Sweet Pea’s chest as FP continued to speak. "From what I just heard, it sounds like we need to put it to a vote.  All those against going to war with the Ghoulies?”
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎A deafening silence settled over the Serpents, each filled with such fury toward Fangs’ and Sweet Pea’s son’s deaths that they wouldn’t even dare think of anything other than vengeance.  Sweet Pea felt (Y/N) grip the fabric of his shirt in her fists, but she found it within herself to face the Serpents.  He watched as her face darkened, her teeth grinding as her eyes narrowed.  He could practically see as her grief morphed into something much more sinister and twisted than he felt as he trashed the school.  Sweet Pea had never seen such a furious expression on someone’s face, but he felt inspired by it.  He wanted to match it, to feel what she felt as they burned Riverdale to the ground.
‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎“And all those for giving them hell on the battlefield tomorrow?” FP offered the other solution, his arm raising as his hand formed the sign of the Serpents.  One by one, every Serpent in the room mirrored his stance.  (Y/N)’s hand was the first one up, her knuckles turning white as her nails dug into her palms.  She was going to do some incredible damage tomorrow, and something in Sweet Pea churned with fear, but the instinct that kept him alive, that core feeling always lingering beneath the surface, told him that he was going to do the same.  They lost their son in one of the most brutal ways possible, and they would do anything to avenge him.
