Smthg I really really love is how Ryan Coogler mixes art and violence. I cant speak too much of recent marvel movies as I’ve fallen off quite a bit. But of the ones I’ve seen, most of them portray action and fight scenes as just that, action and fight scenes. Most if not all of the artistic expression is done through color scheme, setting, superpower special effects or etc. but watching Wakanda Forever, RC reminded me that movement and action itself can be beautiful.

The Talokans introduction is them defending their territory, not through elaborate espionage from the shadows or by an explosive dash onto the US ship. But by song. Beautiful soft melodious song that, without having to lift a finger, lured swarms of enemies overboard simply bc of how enchanting it was. Another scene, Shuri, with the help of one of the Dora Milaje (I believe Ayo but I’m not certain) swinging along the side of the ship in a move reminiscent of elegant trapeze artists.

Like so much in the movie was just gorgeous and the fact that RC expresses beauty in every corner of it was wonderful to see.

I really miss Path of the Valkyrie and Alexandra's writing in general. It sucks so hard that she won't be able to continue her work at RC. I think her writing was getting better and better over time, and while Path of the Valkyrie has some highs and lows, I was fully expecting her next project to be a total banger.

The LIs are probably my favourite aspect of her writing -- in that regard it reminds me a little of Theodora. Just the range of archetypes is impressive, and somehow they are all handed so well. Sagr's romance is a beautiful angsty slowburn which reveals the tender, caring, but deeply wounded man behind a rough exterior. Ullr's path is comforting, like coming back home. Andvari is the soft-spoken pocket-sized bf who is going to treat you like a princess and you can carry him in your arms. Thor is like a force of nature, wild and a little terrifying, and he has an absolutely fascinating set of morals that makes him actually feel kind of non-human. And Loki's path is just something else. You think you have this chaotic trickster all figured out, and the next episode he flips everything on its head.

And I also just want to shout out the female LIs in particular. Nowadays, RC is moving in a better direction in terms of making stories with more diverse casts (books like Heart of Trespia, Hell and High Water, The One, Vying for Versallies, Elite Tag in particular come to mind). But back when Path of the Valkyrie first came out, it was unfortunately the norm across RC stories to treat wlw paths as an after-though (there were occasional wins for the wlws, but it was kind of barren overall). And in contrast Liod and Vanadis paths felt like such a breath of fresh air. I mean Liod is still one of the few masc female LIs on the app. And Vanadis has such a compelling character arc about finding her voice and standing up to those who wronged her after a lifetime of objectification and neglect. They both have their roles in the bigger story and their romances feel just as genuine and authentic as the men's, rather than a side hookup.

I hope they can find a writer who will love those characters as much as Alexandra clearly did, so Path of the Valkyrie can get the ending it deserves. But even then, it's still going to be bittersweet.

First Time I Ever saw Loki in Media

The first time I saw Loki mentioned in anything was in "Son of the Mask (2005)." That movie challenged my beliefs in some interesting ways, despite the movie not being very good. I came from a VERY Roman Catholic Mexican household. I went to church every week, Catechism, and Confirmation. I know the sermons by heart. "Son of the Mask" challenged my child self's RC beliefs in some very unexpected ways.

It was my first introduction into the concept that deities are not necessarily perfect beings, which was difficult for a former Roman Catholic to wrap her head around. Back then, the word "God" was a synonym of omniscient and perfect. Because I was raised monotheistic and our god is usually referred to as "God" (Díos), "Yahweh/Yahvve (which means "The Lord" or "El SEÑOR", which were other ways to address).

Like yes, I did encounter Greek mythology before this through Disney's "Hercules" movie before this, but the simplistic way Greek mythology was sanitized with a "bad" deity associated with the underworld (Hades) and "good and heroic deity" in that movie did not clash with my former beliefs. But Loki's ambiguous nature and depiction in "Son of the Mask" did.

First, he was a "God of Lies and Mischief." I was so surprised to see a deity that would approve of shit that would get me in trouble or break some of the Ten commandments. I thought it was so cool, given that I often got in trouble for lying and breaking shit. I was like, well at least he would approve, and he won't send me to hell for it. I had always followed Roman Catholicism very reluctantly. I mostly did it out of fear of burning in Hell rather than because I felt it or enjoyed it.

The funny thing was that I thought Loki was a made up god for the movie because "Loki" sounds too much like the word "Loco", and it was quite fitting given his domain (plus no internet). It wasn't until I learned about the Thor comics, that Loki was part of the Norse pantheon of mythology. And although I don't worship anything or consider myself spiritual in any way, I have an odd fascination with his media depictions because they show interesting trends.

The ending to path B made me a bit more hopeful for RC despite the stressful nature of the situation? 😭 maybe I’m too curious,but would she make a good mom? Her own was neglectful so idk if she’d want to recreate the cycle. I hope she will and Thor would be a good uncle 🫣 Uni wise…I hope she gets to finish her studies, just not on that campus….

I think bc we see despite her upbringing reader is very altruistic despite it. I think she would do her best to be different, knowing everything she longed for as a child and giving that to hers.

And Thor would be awesome, he'd def be fun. And i also hope she goes back and gets a degree.

These people are sick this is their people and they're trying to hit each other in this case it sounds like they're trying to hit John Gallagher and it was not him on board it was one of his guys but it was other people too and of their own give me the huge error and they're more lock and they're flying in to deliver more armament for their revolution and they crashed rather badly and are all dead there's only so much that those plants can take and then Max down on it and it's only so much that will tolerate too but really they had a very bad day and crashed it's not in Utah it's in the upper Midwest and they're near people heard the noise and they came from 20 miles away because they found out who it was and they said how did this happen and they heard the tape and said it doesn't make any sense what they're saying cuz it doesn't they're saying use the forties flap what the hell is that mean and know that means but right at the time it doesn't make any sense because they're coming in for a landing and forty slap will bring them up and they said we're not doing that right now so when they looked at it closer several of these voices were not on board and they're being guided in by people who are not physically there and they did a bad job and they heard about it the pilots made a run for it now but they're not really that high up and they went looking for the people who did it and they couldn't find them and they checked all over the place they checked here but they heard the signal and they know where it went and they looked over that way and they saw several people tell them to go away and they're in the uniform and often the distance you heard you could hear them saying I wonder if those are the guys and stuff like that and they went ahead and checked who it was cuz they found a unit with a truck it's not a big one and it was not the camper from Twitter or whatever it is they went ahead and looked and found out something these guys are in our midst and they're directing things to happen that are not good and they're ruining us there's some special stuff on the plane it's sensing equipment and choose to detect devices it's kind of small but it is actually kind of accurate when you use that kind of equipment so you're wondering who the hell it was and what they're doing and yeah they're sensing and they're trying to find people who are trying to sabotage them and they found them too late and they were sabotaged by believing the communication so they didn't use their equipment to detect where the signal was coming from or if it was bounced and it cost them their lives and they're actually soldiers and they're trying to do that so it looked at it again and I did see that they were running with RC and that they're trying to threaten people and they keep threatening our son and when you hit the gas I don't get a nail for doing this we're also going to take them apart because they are sitting back and laughing about other stuff and we are going to take them to court on every single line item of things that they're doing wrong to show them before they're gone that they're just not right you can't sit there and threaten people like Us we're not going to accept it and replying through them recently and we can hear them yapping and yapping and planning and saying all sorts of dumb things so a few minutes ago we issued a special warrant and where is showing it on all of these morons that they are to be brought in immediately on sensing their presence and it is going to be a big deal we're bringing in a lot of them and it's because of terrorism we do see that the people are in need of getting a reprimand

They're having an issue with too many skeletons all over the place in the water and the same we have to get them out of there and we have to rake them down and get them out and they're going to try and gather them up they're everywhere and it's multiple races of theirs and it's mostly more luck and they need them out and they're going to do that now there's a few other things that are shaping the day one of them is that they have no restraints here and are complete assholes more surely
