John Elroy Sanford, better known as Redd Foxx was a comedian and entertainer who’s famous for his role as “Fred Sanford,” on the hit sitcom show “Sanford and Son” was born in St. Louis, MO, on this date December 9, 1922.
Foxx was notoriously known for his raunchy stand-up routines, and his style of comedy, which featured highly adult subject matter, influenced generations of comics like Richard Pryor, and Eddie Murphy.
