Steve wasn’t sure what he was expecting when Eddie said he’d gotten him a gift, but it sure as shit wasn’t this.
“Oh, my god,” Steve said, holding it up to see it in all its glory. A t-shirt with words printed over a rainbow across the chest: Steve & Robin - Not dating, just gay and codependent.
“Obviously, I have one for Robin too,” Eddie said, tossing Steve a second shirt.
“Oh, my God!” Steve repeated, laughing this time. It was perfect and so incredibly weird. He couldn’t wait to model them with his best friend and take the most ridiculous not-couple pictures of all time. “This is - I mean, Jesus! I love it, but would you let me be the impressive one for once?”
Eddie looked Steve up and down, then smirked.
“With those abs? Don’t worry, you’re still the impressive one here.” Steve blushed, then sat up in bed so he could put the shirt on, but Eddie stopped him. “Woaaaah there, what are you doing? You can’t cover up, I’m enjoying the view.” Steve rolled his eyes.
“You’re not going to let me use the gift you got me?”
“Not yet,” Eddie replied. “I’m actually kind of regretting the whole thing now. You should probably never wear a shirt ever again. Can I have it back actually?” Steve chuckled, then smacked Eddie playfully on the arm.
“No way.”
“Steve, you wound me," Eddie joked. "But fine, as you wish."
Eddie and Steve had been official for 2 months at this point, and everything was kind of perfect. They each continued to work their respective jobs, and with their added happiness came enhanced customer service.
Bob was happy - both for Eddie’s shift in demeanor as well as for the business. They were doing great! Plus, he got bonus points as a step-dad for introducing Will to Eddie and the shop. Will came to visit a few more times, and this time he got to talk to Steve, too. It was clear that seeing a happy gay couple was important for Will. He hadn’t seen much of that in his small town, so seeing Eddie and Steve be so grossly into each other was refreshing.
And gross.
But mostly refreshing!
One day, Will’s older brother dropped Will off at the shop, introducing yet another cool person into the friend group - Jonathan. By then, Eddie had succeeded in making Argyle his friend, and the two of them spent many nights smoking and watching those stupid stoner comedies together in Argyle’s weird, confusingly giant house that he somehow lived in.
Seriously, how did the guy have a house like that already? How did he have the money to travel so much with Chrissy? Her show was good and all, but it couldn’t possibly be getting her that much income.
In any case, Argyle and Eddie were buds, so Argyle also happened to be around when Jonathan walked into Ink About It.
The bromance between Jonathan and Argyle was pretty much immediate. Eddie would have felt mildly jealous about it if he hadn’t noticed some very familiar (aka queer) vibes between the two. Perhaps Will wasn’t the only Byers grappling with their identity, that's all Eddie was saying - but it was just speculation. Eddie kept his mouth shut (except to Steve, obviously, who fully agreed). In due time, as with anything else.
So then they all hung out - Chrissy, Jonathan, Argyle, Steve, Eddie, and Robin. They’d formed quite the friend group - all of them getting along with each other beautifully. Argyle even hosted a road trip with the squad in his giant pizza van (???) so that they could all surprise Gareth at a Corroded Coffin show.
That night was epic, and it finally cemented Robin and Chrissy as girlfriends.
After their date, they’d both been super into each other - undeniably so. Yet, because Chrissy was so often moving around, they’d decided it was best to just stay friends.
Yeah. Eddie and Steve knew that wouldn’t last very long.
It still lasted longer than it should have, and the pining was rampant. Every time they all hung out, the two women wouldn’t stop staring at each other, cracking jokes, and giving everyone else in the room ample opportunities to share knowing glances…
And then they went on the road trip, and they got super drunk, and Robin tended to speak a lot more freely when she was intoxicated.
She professed her love to Chrissy on the dance floor.
It was a bold move, but it paid off. Chrissy and Argyle extended their stay in Hawkins, and Robin and Chrissy became an official couple.
Coincidentally, that night was also pretty huge for Eddie and Steve. Firstly, because Chrissy and Robin had dropped the “I love you’s” before they had, which felt kind of ridiculous, considering Eddie and Steve obviously loved each other.
“The fucking lesbians stole my thunder!” Eddie yelled from the bar, watching Robin and Chrissy hug each other on the dance floor.
“What are you talking about?” Steve asked, amused at his boyfriend’s antics.
“Ladies and Gentleman!”
Gareth’s voice boomed from the stage. The band had taken a quick break, but were back on. Eddie grinned, then grabbed Steve’s hand.
“Come on,” he said. “Let’s get closer.” They wandered through the crowd (past Chrissy and Robin) as Gareth continued.
“We’ve got a surprise for you all. You see, my boy Eddie Munson requested we play a special song tonight. So, this one’s for you, Flower Boy. Lord knows we wouldn’t play this for anyone else.”
Before Steve could even process what was happening, the band began to play. It wasn’t metal, it was -
“I Melt With You,” Steve said once he recognized it. “I love this song.”
“Iiiiii know!” Eddie responded, laughing. He pulled Steve into him so they could swing along to the music. “This was my whole master plan. Was gonna have them play this and tell you I loved you and it was going to be this whole beautiful moment but then Robin-”
“Eddie,” Steve interrupted, laughing. Eddie’s jaw dropped, and then he facepalmed.
“Oh my god I totally just said it without meaning to,” he said. “I’ve been holding out for WEEKS and -”
“You’ve loved me for weeks?” Steve asked, touched.
“Well, yeah,” Eddie replied. “Duh.” His eyes bugged out on that last word, his voice taking on a goofy, boyish cadence. Steve smiled.
“You’re so ridiculous,” he said, shaking his head. “And I love you too.”
“Yeah?” Eddie asked, grinning.
“Duh,” Steve replied, attempting to mimic Eddie’s response from before. “Robin didn’t ruin your big plan, by the way. That was all you.” Eddie chuckled.
“You still love me though,” he said. Steve nodded, and then they were kissing.
I’ll stop the world and melt with you.
Yeah. That song pretty much said it all.
Everything felt just right🌹

It's the third anniversary of me watching Spies Are Forever!!
Since then I told all my friends to watch it bc gay spies but (as a person who hates when things are defined by romance) I wanna do the show justice and make a list of all the other things I loved just as much
my family made me watch bajilion spy movies so let's say I'm pretty familiar with every trope they have. It was so fun and refreshing to see them in a musical, played just for comedy, made into a song or otherwise changed like no spy movie did before
Mary Kate Wiles singing. The Bond-esque intro?? The reprise??? Her as Tatiana???? I love her so much.
The whole soundtrack is so good tbh. I have no idea what genre the music is but it all fits together so well it creates a cohesive world I can never forget bc my brain keeps bringing the songs up
Spy Again... It's only the third song in the musical and I'm already invested and moved by Curt's story so much. I usually hate soliloquies, I get bored and want to skip them even when watching sth for the first time so the fact that I fell in love with Spy Again's storytelling so quickly is even more impressive
The intro and act 1 ending might be one of my favorites in all of the musicals I watched ever
Torture Tango should not be that good. It's a song about being tortured. It's funny. It's dark. It's twisted. It's more emotional and dramatic than an actual spy movie fight scene. It reprises other songs from act 1 (my fave thing an act ending can do). THE IMPLICATIONS WHEN YOU KNOW WHO DMA IS. "Come on Curt let's get going!............Owen?"
This musical makes me want to sing songs about being tortured or about Nazis in public. This is the kind of chaos I live for.
The magic of theater it makes me feel. Yes, they are sitting on office chairs. Yes, I have never felt more invested in a chase scene. The use of the stairs (stairs are the best thing you can have on stage nothing will change my mind)

Spoilery Aquaman 2 Review
Aquaman 2 was fun. A little clunky and cheesy at times, but tbh I found that kinda refreshing? It was so goofy and earnest in a way that didn't undercut the stakes or the tough moments and didn't feel nearly as formulaic as a lot of the superhero genre has gotten.
Like...I love a pithy one-liner as much as the next person, but does anyone else ever feel like big blockbusters in general have gotten SO polished that they've basically become scripts full of quotable moments? Does it ring a little hollow for anyone else, or is that just a me thing?
Anyway, the point is Aquaman 2 was kinda refreshing in that regard. There are moments where another film would've put the hero saying something funny and cool, but this movie just allows the character an emotional reaction that feels more honest. Because let's be real, even a goofy fucker like Jason's take on Arthur isn't going to be thinking up cool things to say when his family is in danger. He's going to be scared and angry!
I also thought some of the visual worldbuilding and background gags were just great, so fun. The film was definitely calling back to an earlier era of sci-fi and fantasy films, but in a way that felt self-aware without being too wink-wink, nudge-nudge. The use of CGI was a little heavy-handed in places, but that's hardly unique to this movie or particularly surprising in a film that takes place at least 1/3rd under water.
It was super obvious at first that Mera's role had been severely cut down compared to the first film, in a way that flirted dangerously with simply sidelining the woman into housewifery as soon as she has a child. But there were a few scenes that did the job of showing that Mera is still a queen and a warrior, and in the end it felt more like this was simply the story of Orm and Arthur while the first film was the story of Mera and Arthur.
That being said, Orm and Arthur's interactions were fucking delightful, beginning to end. Best part of the film, hands down. There was some great physical comedy, which I was surprised to see Patrick do just as well as Jason. There was also a really organic build from hate to grudging respect to understanding to love running through the film. The place they ended up felt earned, even in a film absolutely packed with plot and action and character journeys. It held the whole film together.
James Wan's horror background really got its moments to shine in this film, too, just as it did in the first one with that fucking trench scene. He really is a master at juggling tone and genre. I can't wait to see what he does next.
By far the clunkiest part of the film was the Black Manta/Necrus thing and whole environmentalism angle. Which is fine, actually. It feels like a little nudge toward the source material. And I think at any other time it would have fallen much flatter, but with the climate crisis constantly in the back of the mind the way it is now, the clunkiness got a boost just by how terrifyingly relatable and real the stakes were. The speech at the end felt earned, too, even with how clunky the plot was at times.
It was just a fun, solid superhero film! I'm sad we don't get a full Aquaman trilogy, but it was definitely a high note for Jason's time as Aquaman to end on. I can see myself watching this movie over and over.

hi tem!! 72, 77, 78!!
Ask me fanfic writer questions!
Omg hello!!! Eidnwjdjdj i shouldve guessed i'd get 77 immediately 😂😂😂😂
72.) what do you do if a scene gets too serious?
Generally im almost always aiming for serious on some level, tbh-- thats my favorite thing to write about!! Even while writing comedy, i tend to go for more serious undertones; in the case that im going intentionally for pure humor, though, and the scene comes out a little more serious than intended, i try to dial it back by focusing on banter, adding a bit of humor to the narration itself, and essentially laying the scene out in a way that's intentionally meant to draw your attention to whats supposed to be funny.
On the whole, though, serious scenes are my JAM and i adore writing them, so its not often i run into this problem!!
77.) how do you write kissing scenes?
OH BOY. OKAY. this is the point, i suppose, where i mention the Kissing Seminar.
The Kissing Seminar is a very informal discussion i held in one of my discord servers and later transcribed to a google doc when the topic of how to write kisses came up. Full disclosure: i kiss a lot. I love kissing. Ive kissed a ton of people in my life and i kiss my partner constantly. So when im writing kisses, i am pulling DIRECTLY from my own experiences on how it feels and how i do it (and sometimes i do need refreshers; last time i wrote a kiss i had to pause, kiss my partner for a minute, and then go back to writing. Partner reported being INCREDIBLY confused by the abruptness but was pleased to receive smooches until the next day when i informed them of why, and then they hit me with a pillow SJDNEJDJEJJS 😂😂😂😂)
Anyway, the Kissing Seminar is something ive been meaning to pretty up and post for public consumption time and time again, but havent yet because its just so currently low on the priority list. But it details HOW to kiss, and what to expect, and some options for how to write it if you want to go for something more detailed rather than just saying "they smooched". As a tl;dr, its generally all about body placement, rhythm, and emotions-- and the intermingling between them. If you want to write good kisses, focus on all three of these things, and it'll help you out a lot
78.) how do you choose where to end a chapter?
I go off of instinct, mostly!!! Usually i try to keep my chapters all to a similar length (so for hunger au, im aiming for 4-5k each time), and because i know how long most of my scenes take (about 1-2k depending) im able to round off where things should stop after a certain amount of scenes have been written. Sometimes its not precise, though-- last chapter of litd was meant to have the Pearl conversation fully in it, but Tango ended up being the primary focus, and i couldnt really edit that out without sacrificing a lot. So as soon as i found a good stopping place, i went ahead and finished the chapter.
Good stopping places for me are where a scene naturally ends and begins to transition into a new one-- think like movie clips, or scenes in a play. To continue using hunger au chap 4 as an example, the final "clip" so to speak started with Tango and Grian on the couch, and ended with Tango leaving the set while Pearl took his place. I found this to be a really good natural stopping point for the chapter, because Pearl and Grian's convo is very different from the way Tango and Grian's went, so it requires a different tone and new atmosphere to fully delve into that. I find that when the tone of a scene changes, or something new is happening, or time is shown to have passed in some way, these are naturally good places to stop a chapter.
I think this is often why people will choose to end their chapters with their characters falling asleep-- its a natural transition that people instinctively recognize as moving things forward, so it acts as a way to separate one scene from the next. The problem with relying on that alone though is that it can become very repetitive, so its important to be able to start pinpointing all your transition sentences or paragraphs so you can find other places and ways to end chapters and add in some variety
As with all things, though, this isnt a hard and fast rule; i can think of several ways one might want to lean on that for thematic purposes, or using it as a motif, or just a particular expression of style. Really what it comes down to is what you want from your story, and the best ways to achieve that; a good editor in particular will help you find a way to do that. Wkdnwke sorry this became sort of a very extended ramble, but as a professional editor and a longtime writer i find the subject fascinating and feel like mechanics like this arent really talked about often enough. Anyway thank you for listening to my little soapbox if you read all the way through, and thank you so much for the questions!!!!! :DD

Finnie, my lovely gal, if it’s not too much to ask could I get a uhhh… no.9 with a side of you’re-a-really-awesome-writer jalapeño poppers and an extra sweet master-of-simp-fics iced tea please?
So I’m a Latina from Texas, but I am whiter than a damn ghost until around summertime where I get a little bit of a tan. ☀️ I have ADHD, anxiety, and depression, and I am somehow on the spectrum but not really (you can thank my psychiatrist) 🙃 I’m into drawing stuff especially if it’s fantastical and/or creepy. I like reading, gaming, doing stuff online, playing on my phone and lots of other stuff I rarely have time for 😅 Creepy stuff is my jam, as well as the colors pink and black and some cute things here and there. I love almost all types of music but I’m a BIG fan of classic rock and I love early 2000’s punk, Pour Some Sugar On Me is my favorite song while Green Day is my favorite band! Horror movies fill me with joy, not even kidding. I love weird facts and information. True crime stuff slaps 👌🏼Comedy shows like Friends and Golden Girls also slap 👋🏼 I have an eyebrow piercing, 5 tattoos (4 small, 1 big that was for my Nanna) and I definitely want more 😂😅 I have dirty blonde hair, hazel eyes, a scar on my back from spinal fusion surgery and I’m pretty proud of it tbh!
I’m sorry for rambling and I hope I didn’t add too much ❤️🥲

ok so let's break this the fuck down!
first off, i think this particular crane is an absolute beast when it comes to mental health, so not only would he find it absolutely fascinating to be able to work with you, he could also prove to be very valuable in helping you to do some healing... or he might be mean about it, just depends on his mood i guess
i think this jon is probably a fan of classical music, but there's something about the dirty, nasty, loud vibes of punk that would get him going and the general horror/gore emotions that the songs/bands/music tend to evoke would be right up his street. he'd probably tell you how the different movements in "jesus of suburbia" really echo the movements often found in a lot of symphonies, and then request to bang you to it
artistic expression is something he would admire in a partner, or even a close friend. i don't imagine he's very artisitic himself, but he holds a deep appreciation for artwork, especially if it's on the spooky side, and especially if it's related to a beloved horror movie
which, speaking of, he'd the biggest horror movie fan ever? like canonically, the man is a buff, a dork, an obsessive loser over horror movies. having someone to get equally as geeked out over them with would bring him so much joy!!
hello true crime fan, it's probably not great for your anxiety, and he will nag you a little bit about that, but he wouldn't be above creating some reading materials for you if it's been a slow week, if you catch his drift...
he has a great sense of humour, if not slightly weird... but he strikes me as the kind of guy who has lines from shows memorised and who will use them at the worst times, making everything he says even creepier. so a binge refresh would be a perfect couple's activity! that way the next time he has someone held at knife point, teasing them to watch them sweat, he can make "could you be any more scared" the most terrifying reference to chandler bing ever. what an accomplishment!

follow up question from timbern anon: who would you rather they had made tim's boyfriend? (i am of the opinion that bringing Lonnie would have been peak comedy, but that Ives would also have made a lot of sense) (ignoring Kon, of course)
tbh i think tim would have taken a longer time to Process and Reflect before he dated anyone again? he realizes he’s bi then has to struggle with and make peace with it before he dates anyone. honestly timlonnie would be funny as hell because i do not think they can do boyfriends. or domesticity. not with these two, nope. it’s fast-paced and harsh and barely a relationship, but it’s freeing and honest and refreshing. if they wanted to bring back one of tim’s school friends, ives was right there. we saw him in 2011, right before the reboot. just saying. anyway like idk! tim ships aren’t something i devote a ton of thought to generally, surprisingly, unless i’m being silly about it
(ask game)

is willow canon or subtext, if you don’t mind me asking? thinking about watching it but tbh hot take of mine whenever we get canon we get screwed over so if that’s the case i may decide to save it for a later date in which i have higher mental stability
it's canon, they very much kiss in the first episode and you know from their first scene that they're into each other. their feelings are clear to the audience, maybe not so much to them because of course, they're young people and sometimes dumb and it's their first time being in love but it's there and it's beautiful and i'm gonna shut up and stop spoiling you so you can actually enjoy the show if you decide to watch.
but honestly, i'd give it a chance because for once, the representation is genuine, the chemistry is fire, both actresses are queer irl and they know how much we've been screwed over with sapphic ships and representation and they're really giving everything they've got to make it right.
also, everyone from the main group™ is fantastic and charming beyond words, you fall in love with every single character and it's so refreshing to see a fantasy show that leans so much into the weirdness/comedy aspect of the show and doesn't make everything so serious or life-threatening all the time. it's corny and wild and funny but also extremely emotional and made with so much love and dedication. also, it pisses off incels and f*nboys and that's always a good reason to watch and support a show, so i'd say it's worth it. hit me up if you decide to watch and tell me your thoughts! 🥰

doctor who is so back bitches
oh do i have so much to say about the 60th birthday. knowing that tennant was going to hold the role for at least that episode, i was slightly terrified that his tenure 2 would be nothing more than a nostalgia run, something to grab the attention of bored long time fans, or fans of just tennant’s doctor, or or or. but it wasn’t; it felt so incredibly fresh and well written, extravagant and modern in a way that i was truly scared would not shine through.
davies is a great writer (one of my preferred, tbh) and having his ability and skill back in the show is not only incredibly evident but refreshing and comforting as much as entertaining and, well, good. he was never one to shy away from serious but he writes comedy so well too; this episode particularly reminded me of older who, the goofier matt smith episodes and of course tennant’s own. and what is this show if not just absolutely silly and camp? let the time lord laugh. he’s been through enough.
i found myself cooing, looking at my dad (my dw watching partner of ten years) and exclaiming how happy and excited i was. i haven’t done that in many years. this episode captured my attention like the whimsy of series five and six, the charisma of clara and twelve, the bonding of rose and ten, the tragedy of ten and donna. it was captivating, emotional, engaging. i felt like a child again, staring wide eyed and on the edge of her seat as the doctor ran through a futuristic space ship with his best friends in tow, narrowly avoiding death or destruction or whatever the conflict entailed.
as a queer person, this episode meant so much to me. i’ve been struggling recently with my gender and identity, really taking the “non” in non binary to heart lol. i’ve always headcanoned the doctor as transcending gender, neither male nor female nor non binary, but if we had to put a label, i’d always made them non binary. they’re not human, simply an alien, a time lord, in the physical vessel that is akin to a human. we don’t know, shouldn’t know, what biological sex the doctor is. and it shouldn’t matter. the doctor is simply the doctor.
hearing the doctor himself confirm that (i am using he/him pronouns, as that is what is used in the show) was, for lack of better words, amazing. i never thought that i would see the doctor, let alone my doctor (10, or well, 10’s face), confirm that the binary does not apply to him. the moment with the meep, the “i use the definite pronoun” “oh, i do that” moment, was tragic in the best of ways. my heart sank in the same way it did when i saw my first queer on screen kiss; that is me, i am being shown a reflection of myself. it isn’t a sinking feeling of shame. it is a sinking feeling of relief. the feeling of the world being lifted off your shoulders. the feeling sisyphus would feel as the boulder finally made it to the top of the mountain: an impossibility. but it happened. the boulder stayed.
further, the exploration of non binary within the character of rose noble, how her transness was not the highlight but was not ignored. her transness was shown as important and a special plot point, but it was not about her. it was about the binary of it all, the doctor’s lack of gender binary, time binary itself existing, well, wibbly wobbly. the doctor was brought to donna. their impossible friendship became possible. why? the power of love, of family. just as it always has been.
had donna not had rose, she would have died. had rose not been out as non binary, the likelihood of donna understanding binary (or lack thereof) as well as she did would be significantly less. if donna did not love rose, it would have been for nothing. just as if the doctor did not love donna, or humans as a whole, everything he did, everything he wants to do, none of it would even have happened. love is truly the biggest factor throughout the whole of this stupid show. family, found or by blood, runs deeper than the relationships. love. respect. bonding. saving. selflessness. humanity.

I had this suspicion when Allstars was first announced and it has only come to fruition since then,
but JESUS CHRIST, THIS SHOW SUFFERS WITHOUT SOFIA VERGARA.
i hadnt realized how much she gives to this show until they took her away again, sorry but im so excruciatingly tired of Howie and Heidi and ESPECIALLY Simon but all three of them need to go NOW. they are so old and boring and it had become painfully apparent that they just recycle the same toothless commentary over and over and over and it's completely lost any meaning.
Sofia has been such a breath of fresh air as a contemporary comedy actress, she gave actual life to the judges panel, plus of course she has had a pretty great track record with golden buzzers and overall good taste.
(I remember joking that they cut her out of the show because Mayyas was such excellence and having good taste isn't allowed on this show and tbh I'm not convinced that wasnt the reason.)
@nbcagt listen to me. refresh the entire judging panel now

so lv1 maou to one room yuusha started out looking like your typical fantasy ecchi with an only mildly interesting premise, but wound up being
Tumblr media Tumblr media
NONBINARY OLD MAN YAOI 🎉🎉🎉
while i would hesitate to call it Very Good, i enjoyed this way more than i thought i would
the aforementioned premise is max the legendary hero has become a washed-up neet 10 years after defeating the demon lord. said demon lord has reincarnated with only a fraction of his power, but comes to find max for a rematch... only to discover max has turned into a slovenly old man
so naturally demon lord moves into max's shitty apartment to whip him back into shape by... cooking for him and encouraging him to reconnect with old friends and generally live a happier and healthier life, as you do
and they, i shit you not, fall in love along the way (<- exaggerating, but honestly not by as much as you might think)
the "plot" was in all honesty the weakest element to me, there's some war brewing between two factions led by two of max's old adventuring companions and he ultimately has to get involved to keep them from killing each other. it's not a bad plot, but just wasn't terribly interesting to me
where the series shines imo is its humor. as with nearly all comedies, not every joke lands but a decent number of them do. the developing relationship between max and the demon lord is especially fun and refreshing to see
and while i don't think i'll pick up the manga for this one, i would for sure watch a second season if one were to be made (though tbh i don't personally feel it's necessary, the manga is still ongoing but this season wrapped itself up pretty neatly)

Web of Lies was everything I expected it to be and I can see why Bill and Bob hyped it up so much. IMO the BEST full on comedic episode TGAMM in a while. Ashly and Dana completely sell the paranoia of Molly and Scratch in this one. I would be damn surprised if they didn’t improv most of the time because this episode just smells of their delightful chemistry all the way through. Ashly and Dana have always been the heart of this show, so any episode where their banter shines is always something I look forward to and this was no exception. It reminded me of one of the best SpongeBob episodes, the health inspector one, and most of all, it reminded me of why I love this show in the first place: Molly and Scratch’s dynamic. TGAMM is nothing without it. I love them so much.
I hope you agree.
I mean it is called The Ghost and Molly McGee for a reason
Buddy comedies are always my favourite tv tropes tbh and Scratch and Molly might have to be one of my few favourite duos in cartoons :)
And it’s definitely refreshing to have something dumb and silly again after all the crazy stuff we’ve been seeing in the show lately

Thank you so much, what a lovely comment! <3
I'm really glad you're enjoying the fic, I'm having so much fun writing it! I love a good angsty sadfic as much as anybody, but sometimes you just want a little romantic comedy with low stakes and everybody being friends and a few embarrassing-but-not-too-humiliating Situations for a favorite character. And I wanted to write a hanahaki fic because the idea of coughing up flowers to show you love somebody is really, really funny except for the fact that it's painful and fatal. Take that away, make it uncomfortable and barely harmful, and a world of possibility opens up!
I'm hoping that We Could Be Sleeping in The Flowers will wrap up in two or three more chapters because I've already got the ending sketched out in my head, but I'm hoping it might encourage other people to give lighthearted hanahaki stories a try. I'd love to see what folks come up with!
