What Happened to the Most Infamous Murder Houses in the UK?
The stories behind the real-life ‘Houses of Horrors’ in 20th century England— and what has become of them since.
Tumblr media
Pictured above are the infamous homes in which some of Britain's most notorious killers lived and committed their heinous murders. They are recognised to this day as the real-life 'Houses of Horrors' which were, in the second half of the 20th century, plastered across the front covers of global newspapers from the 1950s through to the 1990s.
In true crime books, podcasts and documentaries, the buildings above are still frequently named in association with the crimes that took place within their walls - these crimes being some of the worst the UK has ever seen.
John Reginald Christie killed and buried eight women at 10 Rillington Place, Ian Brady and Myra Hindley killed two out of five child victims at 16 Wardle Brook Avenue, Fred and Rose West killed at least nine young girls and women at 25 Cromwell Street, and Dennis Nilsen killed three of at least twelve young boys and men in his apartment at 23D Cranley Gardens.
This post details the gruesome history of the houses and also what has become of them since their era of notoriety. The full article is available to read here.

I'm sorry that I've been talking about oc's.
It will continue to happen. Particularly, dynamics and how Kee and Ezhno view other people and each other.
Those people including: Reginald, Right Hand Man, Sven, Accordion, and Violin (the last two belonging to @bluetorchsky )
It's under a cut because I don't know how long it'll get, but knowing me? Lengthy.
.. 2 hours later, it is lengthy
Reginald : Ezhno
It's something between a leader/follower and a father/son dynamic. While, yes, Reginald will treat Ezhno like a teen learning to be an adult, most of the time, it's like they're old friends. Reginald knows Ezhno's been through a lot without Ezhno saying anything.
Reginald : Keegan
Almost a pure leader/follower relationship. Since Keegan doesn't speak much, or been around Reginald long, it's a basic of commands and following.
Right Hand Man : Ezhno
They're an odd mix of 'gossip girls without the gossip'. If you leave them in a room with each other, they'll sit there and talk about work-related things and bounce ideas off of each other. They click together, but in this odd 'work environment' way.
Right Hand Man : Keegan
These two will chat and chat and chat. Well, more Right and less Keegan, but if you ever walk in on them, they'll act like mentor and mentee. It's a facade they put on, to still spend time together, but not seem like they're spending time. They click, but in a different way than Right and Ezhno.
Sven : Ezhno
When did cupid strike an arrow? Sven is the longest crush Ezhno has had, which scares him a lot. Now, Sven's chatty nature and ability to include Ezhno on things makes it easy for them to work out quiet easily, but the restricted schedule of Sven and Ezhno keeping himself busy, their time spent together is short and few.
Sven : Keegan
Only having met once, with Sven and Keegan they don't work out. Even if it seems like they do, the quiet and taller nature of Keegan intimidates Sven more than Accordion. This is also due to Sven knowing Accordion longer than Keegan, he's able to relax a bit around him. But around Keegan? Barely a single word uttered? Yeah, you won't see them around each other unless absolutely necessary.
Accordion : Ezhno
Did it take a little bit of time for them to get comfortable around each other? Yeah, it did. With Ezhno's initial fear of meeting Accordion, it took a bit to actually talk and strike up a conversation. But now? It's an older brother-little brother dynamic. It's one of the more rare times that Ezhno will actually sit down to chat or relax.
Accordion : Keegan
One of Keegan's first phrases was spoken around Accordion! While it took a while for Keegan to meet them, being in his own world and not particularly caring about certain things, he heard Ezhno being talked about (in a negative way), and remarked really quickly on it. They're dynamic together is quiet, and sometimes confusing, but just imagine gaurd dogs: quiet and alert on duty, but reserved and playful in private.
Violin : Ezhno
While these two don't talk much, Ezhno finds comfort in Violin. But, there is a little downfall to Ezhno hanging around Violin. It isn't known around, but Violin reminds Ezhno a lot of his father: Caring, kind, and a gentle giant. Ezhno doesn't voice on it, but he does find a lot of comfort and panic in Violin due to this. There are certain days he won't go around Violin due to being close to a panic attack, but there are other days where he wants to be around no one but Violin. It's an odd dynamic, but Ezhno confides a lot of trust in Violin.
Violin : Keegan
Similar to Accordion, they're dynamic isn't fully know, or it's just a confusing one in general. Is it common for Keegan to follow Violin? Yeah, sometimes. Keegan does like listening to Violin's voice, and even hums along if the other is singing/humming, but past that, there isn't much of a conversation between them. It's more of just an at-peace sort of deal around the two of them. It's hard to feel sad when they're paired together.
Ezhno : Keegan
They are slowly becoming closer, being able to pick up on each other's common body language, Ezhno speaks for Keegan and responds to certain sounds and expressions. Needless to say, Kee is the right roommate for Ezhno, no matter how much he wants to butt against being alone was fine for him.

The Saint: Legacy for the Saint (6.3, ITC, 1968)
"What is this, a séance?"
"Ed left very strict instructions about the reading of his will."
"Oh, he knew he was going to die?"
"We all know that, don't we?"
"Yes. Some sooner than others."
#the saint#legacy for the saint#1968#itc#leslie charteris#michael winder#roy ward baker#roger moore#stephanie beacham#ivor dean#alan macnaughtan#t. p. mckenna#reginald marsh#kenneth farrington#edward brayshaw#bruce boa#brian coburn#sheila keith#edward kelsey#oh now this is curious... I've said previously that i suspected the first couple of eps from season 6 were held over from the season 5#production block; i hadn't quite noticed‚ but network certainly group them separately. but here we are ep 3 and we suddenly have a new#arrangement of the theme tune (in fact nearly an entirely new theme it's so different). but those eps were definitely shown on uk screens#as 1 and 2 of season 6.. i suppose the answer could be that network are using US prints where the seasons were differently divided#so was this theme only used in the us? or was it new for s6 and the others didnt use it bc they were held over? but that doesnt really make#sense bc the titles themselves look the same so it would take little effort to lay the new audio over those eps. who knows?! not me! maybe#Pixley does... (wills him to write a book). anyway. this is a very fun one. feels indebted to the film Charade‚ with its dead gangster and#rogues gallery of rivals turning up to the funeral. baby Beacham is very sweet tho i must deplore a musical sting which accompanies her#intro which is clearly meant to denote 'sexy' despite the episode firmly establishing she's young enough to be some kind of school senior#Teal is once again being made to look quite the fool‚ and wonderful TP McKenna is his usual great value as the most brainful of the crooks#oh also after a slightly grotty looking ep 1 and 2 the picture quality does seem to have returned to form from this one

"A Refusal to Mourn the Deaths, by Gunfire, of Three Men in Brooklyn," John Murillo
“And at times, didn’t the whole country try to break his skin?” —Tim Seibles
You strike your one good match to watch its bloom and jook, a swan song just before a night wind comes to snuff it. That’s the kind of day it’s been. Your Black & Mild, now, useless as a prayer pressed between your lips. God damn the wind. And everything it brings. You hit the corner store to cop a light, and spy the trouble rising in the cashier’s eyes. TV reports some whack job shot two cops then popped himself, here, in the borough, just one mile away. You’ve heard this one before. In which there’s blood. In which a black man snaps. In which things burn. You buy your matches. Christ is watching from the wall art, swathed in fire.
“This country is mine as much as an orphan’s house is his.” —Terrance Hayes
To breathe it in, this boulevard perfume of beauty shops and roti shacks, to take in all its funk, calypso, reggaeton, and soul, to watch school kids and elders go about their days, their living, is, if not to fall in love, at least to wonder why some want us dead. Again this week, they killed another child who looked like me. A child we’ll march about, who’ll grace our placards, say, then be forgotten like a trampled pamphlet. What I want, I’m not supposed to. Payback. Woe and plenty trouble for the gunman’s clan. I’m not suppose to. But I want a brick, a window. One good match, to watch it bloom.
“America, I forgive you… I forgive you eating black children, I know your hunger.” --Bob Kaufman
You dream of stockpiles—bottles filled with gas and wicks stripped from a dead cop’s slacks—a row of paddy wagons parked, a pitcher’s arm. You dream of roses, time-lapse blossoms from the breasts of sheriffs, singing Calico and casings’ rain. You dream of scattered stars, dream panthers at the precinct, dream a black- out, planned and put to use. You dream your crew a getaway van, engine running. Or, no thought to run at all. You dream a flare sent up too late against the sky, the coup come hard and fast. You dream of pistol smoke and bacon, folded flags—and why feel shame? Is it the dream? Or that it’s only dream?
“& still when I sing this awful tale, there is more than a dead black man at the center.” —Reginald Dwayne Betts
You change the channel, and it’s him again. Or not him. Him, but younger. Him, but old. Or him with skullcap. Kufi. Hoodied down. It’s him at fifteen. Him at forty. Bald, or dreadlocked. Fat, or chiseled. Six foot three, or three foot six. Coal black or Ralph Bunche bright. Again, it’s him. Again, he reached. Today, behind his back, his waist, beneath the seat, his socks, to pull an Uzi, morning star, or Molotov. They said don’t move, they said get down, they said to walk back toward their car. He, so to speak, got down… Three to the head, six to the heart. A mother kneels and prays— Not peace, but pipe bombs, hands to light the fuse.
“Fuck the whole muthafucking thing.” —Etheridge Knight
A black man, dancing for the nightly news, grins wide and white, all thirty-two aglow and glad to be invited. Makes a show of laying out, of laundry airing. Throws the burden back on boys, their baggy wear and boisterous voices. Tells good folk at home how streets run bloody, riffraff take to crime like mice to mayhem, and how lawmen, more than ever, need us all to back them. Fuck this chump, the channel, and the check they cut to get him. Fuck the nodding blonde, the fat man hosting. Fuck the story. Fuck the quick acquittals. Fuck the crowds and camera van. You change the channel. Fuck, it’s him again.
“I enter this story by the same door each time.” --Julian Randall
At Normandy and Florence, brick in hand, one afternoon in ‘92, with half the city razed and turned against itself, a young boy beat a man to meat, and signed, thereby, the Ledger of the Damned. Big Book of Bad Decisions. Black Boy’s Almanac of Shit You Can’t Take Back. We watched, in shock. The fury, sure. But more so that it took this long to set it. All these matchstick years… He beat him with a brick, then danced a jig around his almost-carcass. Cameras caught him live and ran that loop for weeks, all night, all day, to prove us all, I think, one thug, one black beast prancing on the nightly news.
“And when it comes to those hard deeds done by righteous people and martyrs, isn’t it about time for that to be you?” --Gary Copeland Lilley
Not Huey on his high back wicker throne, beret cocked cooler than an Oaktown pimp. Or young Guevara marching into camp, all swagger, mane, and slung M-1. But one less suited, you could say, for picture books and posters, slouching on a northbound Bolt, caressing steel and posting plans to shoot. He means, for once, to be of use. Small axe to massive branches, tree where hangs the noose. He says he’s “putting wings on pigs today,” wants two for each of us they’ve blown away. Wants gun salutes and caskets. Dirges, tears, and wreaths. Wants widows on the witness stand, or near the riot’s flashpoint, brick in hand.
“I itch for my turn.” --Indigo Moor
Like Malcolm at the window, rifle raised and ready for whatever—classic black and white we pinned above our dorm room desks— we knew a storm brewed, spinning weathervanes and hustling flocks from sky to sky. We dozed, most nights, nose deep in paperback prognoses. Wretched and Black Skin, White Masks, our books of revelation. Clarions to would-be warriors, if only we might rise up from our armchairs, lecture halls, or blunt smoke cyphers. Talking all that gun and glory, not a Nat among us. Free to wax heroic. Deep. As bullet holes through Panther posters, Huey’s shattered throne.
“Poems are bullshit unless they are teeth…” —Amiri Baraka
It ain’t enough to rabble rouse. To run off at the mouth. To speechify and sing. Just ain’t enough to preach it, Poet, kin to kin, pulpit to choir, as if song were anything like Panther work. It ain’t. This morning when the poets took the park to poet at each other, rage and rant, the goon squad watched and smiled, watched us shake our fists and fret. No doubt amused. As when a mastiff meets a yapping lapdog, or the way a king might watch a circus clown produce a pistol from a passing car. Our wrath the flag that reads kaboom! Our art, a Malcolm poster rolled up, raised to swat.
“every once in a while i see the winged spirits of niggas past raise out the rubble” --Paul Beatty
Could be he meant to set the world right. One bullet at a time. One well-placed slug, one dancing shell case at a time. One hot projectile pushing through, one body bag zipped shut and shipped to cold store, at a time. Could be he meant to make us proud, to fill Nat Turner’s shoes. Could be he meant to aim at each acquittal, scot free cop, each trigger pull or chokehold left unchecked, and blast daylight straight through. Could be he meant, for once, to do. We chat. We chant. We theorize and write. We clasp our hands, spark frankincense, and pray. Our gods, though, have no ears. And yet, his gun sang loud. Enough to make them all lean in.
“Paradise is a world where everything is sanctuary & nothing is a gun.” --Danez Smith
A pipebomb hurled through a wig shop’s glass— nine melting mannequins, nine crowns of flame. Hair singe miasma, black smoke braided. Scream of squad cars blocks away. Burnt out Caprice and overturned Toyota. Strip mall stripped. And gutted. Gift shop, pet shop, liquor store, old stationery wholesale. Home décor, cheap dinnerware. An old man sprinting, draped in handbags, loaded down with wedding gowns. Three Bloods and two Crips tying, end-to-end, one red, one blue, bandana. Freebase fiend with grocery bags, new kicks, and name brand jeans. Spilled jug of milk against the curb, black cat bent low to lap it. This, your world, burnt bright.
“I love the world, but my heart’s been cheated.” --Cornelius Eady
He thought a prayer and a pistol grip enough to get it done. Enough to get him free. Get free or, dying, try. To stop the bleeding. Blood on leaves, blood at the root. I didn’t root, exactly, when I heard word spread. Word that he crept up, panther like, and let loose lead. A lot. Before he fled the spot, then somewhere underground, let kick his cannon one last time. “One Time,” our name for cops back at the crib. It had to do, I think, with chance. Or lack of. Chickens come to roost? Perhaps. I didn’t root. Per se. But almost cracked a smile that day. The news like wind chimes on the breeze. Or shattered glass.
“We beg your pardon, America. We beg your pardon, once again.” --Gil Scott-Heron
To preach forgiveness in a burning church. To nevermind the noose. To nurse one cheek then turn the next. To run and fetch the switch. To switch up, weary of it all. Then cock the hammer back and let it fall… But they were men, you say, with children. And so close to Christmas. But their wives, you say. Today so close to Christmas… Memory as noose, and history as burning church, who’d come across the two cops parked and not think, Go time? One time for Tamir time? Not think Fire this time? To say as much is savage. Blame the times, and what they’ve made of us. We know now, which, and where—the pistol or the prayer.
“…like sparklers tracing an old alphabet in the night sky” --Amaud Jamaul Johnson
It’s natural, no, to put your faith in fire? The way it makes new all it touches. How a city, let’s say, might become, by way of time and riot, pure. In ’92, we thought to gather ashes where before loomed all that meant to kill us. Rubble now and lovely. Worked into, as if from clay, some sort of monument. To what? No clue. Scorched earth, and then…? Suppose a man sets out, with gun and half a plan, to be of use. To hunt police. Insane, we’d say. Not long for life. In this, we’d miss the point. A lit match put to gas-soaked rag, the bottle flung, may die, but dying, leaves a burning house.
“Afro angels, black saints, balanced upon the switchblades of that air and sang.” --Robert Hayden
But that was when you still believed in fire, the gospel of the purge, the burning house. You used to think a rifle and a prayer, a pipebomb hurled through a shopkeep’s glass, enough, at last, to set the world right. Enough, at least, to galvanize some kin. Think Malcolm at the window, set to shoot, or Huey on his high-back wicker throne. Think Normandy and Florence, brick in hand, a Black man dancing for the camera crews. You change the channel, there he is again, and begging: Find some bottles, fill with gas. Begs breathe in deep the Molotov’s perfume. Says strike your one good match, then watch it bloom.

One complaint I often see about Hazbin/Helluva Boss is the lack of villains, or rather all the villains are the same. Cool concepts that end up being more childish than a Saturday morning cartoon. Well for my rewrite I try to lean into that Saturday Morning aesthetic by having a variety of villains with cool gimmicks. Not all of them are Pure Evil though, they're broken souls, but at the same time I want more villains with different motivations and themes. And yes there are unambiguously evil villains who do bad shit for the hell of it. Here's what I have so far:
We have the main villains, a circus that Evan works for early in the beginning until her transport to hell and subsequent redemption. Their goal is to overthrow the angelic hierarchy and hell royal families and turn the earth into a paradise free of pain and suffering. But in the process puts the souls and innocent humans at risk.
Balthazar: ringleader and owner of the Moonshine Carnival. He recruited teenaged runaway Evangeline Smith to steal a powerful artifact to add to his collection. Underneath the eccentric fun loving facade lies a calculating manipulator with a score to settle with heaven...and hell. Wields a Shillelagh that may have been retooled from an angelic weapon. Based on Caine from TADC
Necrobats: Acrobats who work at the circus, they're stylized like Adam's Exterminators but in bright blue&purple.
Hoohah: A clown with an assorted arsenal of tools including ropes, water guns, whips, chains... Huh? Hoohah is a talented actor who skirts thw line between comedy and melodrama. Is based on Gangle from TADC.
Mesmeralda: A snarky fortune teller with standard telekinesis and mind reading. She works for Balthazar. Based on Zooble from TADC.
Magmarock: Pyrotechnics of Balthazar's circus and muscle, he can control different types of heat including lightning, lava, and steam. Despite his might he is shown to have a suspicious side. Based on Kinger from TADC.
Chevy Duty: Monster trucker from the state of Montana, his truck is a literal monster truck. It can only be soothed through Dolly Parton. Is the only character not based on one from TADC but he is partly inspired by WWE stars.
Portia Lane: A ballerina and dancer with razor sharp shoes. Comes off as motherly and somewhat neurotic, but also fiercely loyal to Balthazar. Is based on Ragatha from TADC.
Pax: suave magician who was the closest Evan had to a friend at the circus. Tall dark and handsome, but operates with his own agenda. Specializes in illusions and light magic. Based on Jax from TADC.
There's other performers and actors such as clowns, dancers, water tricks, animal tamers etc. The main ones I describe are considered the Elites, and the most selfish and evil.
Then I have the independent villains. I haven't come up with all the names so shoot me some suggestions!
Georgina Reginald: A wealthy girl who attends the same school Evan does. While academically and socially gifted, she is also cold, cruel and belittles those she deems beneath them. Evan and Adam TP's her house. Later Georgina is given powers from a mysterious amulet and tries to take over the school.
Moore and Artie: A due of robbers who were active in the UK. While attempting a crime in France they were caught in a shootout and Artie was killed. Soon after, Moore revived his friend using an soul artifact. Augmented with new powers they continued their crime spree. Evan and Charlie fights them during a brief stay on Earth
Furie Fatale: Formerly Megara, the first wife of Hercules who was murdered along with their kids by Hera. She pleaded with Persephone and Hades to reverse their deaths but was rejected. Vowing revenge, Megara turned her sights to the Demon Overlords, and made a deal with the Overlord of Wrath to destroy Hera, anyone who worships her and the other deities who reside in the skies. She's a darker reflection of Eve and Lilith.
Dee-Kay: Originally a real estate guru Deidre Kaye who constructor who planned on building a resort which would've risked destroying a wildlife sanctuary Flora Smith volunteers. Following a freak accident involving chemicals Deidre developed the power to make plants Rot. He's Flora's main opponent.
Breezer: A demonic wind elemental, not much for personality other than that they are volatile and hired by overlords as a temp.
Carrie Sensation: Based on Carrie Nation, a self styled activist who tries to get all the bars closed. She was sent to hell for pushing her views onto everyone and her disregard for ruining people's businesses. She's Husk's main enemy.
Tidal Rage: a water demon with the ability to create hurricanes. Originally a surfer named Tina Rodriguez who cheated at competitions, eventually leading up to drowning a rival surfer. Attempts to flood the hotel out of jealousy towards Charlie.
Venjara: A worker for Valentino, she is a ninja and known shitstirrer who weaponizes the pain of others to project her own self righteous sense of justice. She's the evil counter to Vaggie.
An animal trafficker who owns creatures like the chupacabra and small dragons, selling to the highest bidder. At one point he steals Fat Nugget, prompting a manhunt.
Nightmare Imps, demonic forces who torments people in their sleep. To Abel they are merely more than pests that can be easily dealt with a spray bottle.
An elderly mobster was in a rival gang and who knows Angel Dust (before he died) and still alive, nearing 100 years old. Angel Dust pays him one last visit.
A former Exterminator named Harmonie who took things a little too far and started attacking humans under the assumption that by doing so, they wouldn't turn into Sinners. Adam and Lute was forced to retire her but she escaped and now leads a rival group called the Harpy League. She's a reflection of Adam's violent methods & disobedience. Eventually he admits he feels a tad guilty for his role in ruining her sanity.
Wright N. Rung: A former judge who was sent to hell for causing false imprisonment and executions of innocent people. He can condemn souls and is the rare ability to break contracts (for a high price that is). He's similar to Frollo and is another character who serves as a darker reflection of Adam, namely his self righteousness; and Charlie for her passivity and privilege.
Goliath: Warlord from Ancient biblical times with a score to settle with the angels, namely King David's family. He is a counter to Alastor.
Jezebel: Former queen and a biblical figure who led a genocide and was thrown off the balcony by a servant. In hell she maintained her regal status, and creates a league to overthrow heaven. She even tried to overthrow Lilith once, and sees her disappearance by attempting to persuade Lucifer to accept her as his new bride. He hates her ass lol.
I have other ideas for villains but in theory, they're meant to be darker reflections of the Main characters + my OCs and Adam. Showing what'll happen if they don't move on from their flaws

Passing the Torch
(Closed RP with @terraeferae)
The full moon hung bright in the night sky as Layle's ship sailed somewhat low in the night sky. He could see The High Moor and Dragonspear Castle off to starboard as he made his way north along the Sword Coast... But closer to him, he saw some occasional bursts of light coming from the southwest end of Trollbark forest.
"Hmm...?" Layle took a closer look, his eyes able to make out some fighting going on. He turned to face his crew of simulacra copies of himself, and Reginald, his sentient Iron Golem.
"It looks like there's some trouble around where people said Warlock's Crypt is... I'm going to help them out, so everyone switch to scenario twelve- Let me abandon ship, and fly the ship to the water's surface. Keep on course for waterdeep, and disguise yourselves. Make sure to notify me if Lady Silverhand, or Jarlaxle wish to meet with me." Everyone aboard nodded as Layle jumped ship, falling directly into the fray, blade first to aim at what he now realized was an undead hoard attacking three ladies! He landed with a decisive strike, putting one of the creatures down instantly, but also getting fairly banged up from the well over one thousand foot fall!
"Looks like you all could use a hand!" Layle smirks through the shooting pain as he glances back to the ladies, who are handling themselves fairly well considering the dire circumstances.

Kindred of London 3/6 : clan Brujah
Theo Bell, best vampire in London, Arzel's best friend
Don Cerro, Theo's dad Sire
Nelle, Reginald's 'Sire' and Arzel's mawla
Reginald Moore, Brujah Primogen, he's totally a normal Brujah, nothing to worry about
_
Canon NPCs' designs inspired by the London by Night book, clan design based on Chris Leland‘s designs
_
Arzel's opinion on them under the cut
Theo : he's been doing jobs for McAndrew for a while, and by extension with Arzel ever since Arzel was embraced. They can get pretty rowdy when they're on a job, it's good fun
Don Cerro : Arzel didn't meet the man himself but despite the relationship between him and McAndrew being a little sour, he knows that Don Cerro and Theo have the same relationship that he has with McAndrew. So he has a high opinion by proxy
Nelle : they know a LOT about Kindred history and politics, they're always up to date with gossips and schemes, they're a great ally to have. They give him good tips on how to be a vampire as well, and they're fun to be around
Moore : they only met twice but Arzel wants to befriend him. And to bring him to a tailor.

i am keeping track of every play i've read. and i need to put it somewhere
this list is long so im putting it under a cut
The Pillowman - Martin McDonagh - really interesting read, i keep going back and forth on how I feel about it which is a sign that it's REALLY well-crafted. Pieces: Katurian (act 1, mostly), Ariel (act 3, mostly).
Hamlet - William Shakespeare - what a good play!
Romeo and Juliet - William Shakespeare
Titus Andronichus - William Shakespeare
Macbeth - William Shakespeare
Henry V - William Shakespeare
As You Like It - William Shakespeare
Much Ado About Nothing - William Shakespeare
Fences - August Wilson
Agamemmnon - Aeschylus
Electra - Sophocles - modern story conventions mean this play doesn't age well. Contemporarily, the drama of the play is centered around whether Electra will do matricide/step-patricide (with the audience at least hypothetically against the matricide), but modern story structures lessen this drama and turmoil because of moral changes -- it seems arbitrary that Orestes has to do the murder, and Clytaemnestra can be a little girlbossified. Pieces: see conversation between Electra and her sister, maybe.
Medea - Euripides - you don't need me to tell you this play is good.
The Frogs - Aristophanes
Phaedra - Seneca
Fat Ham - James Ijames
Fences - August Wilson
LOVE/SICK - John Cariani
Almost, Maine - John Cariani
Late: A Cowboy Song - Sarah Ruhl - I need to read more Sarah Ruhl
Fairview - Jackie Sibblies Drury
Intimate Apparel - Lynn Nottage
The Last Days of Judas Iscariot - Stephen Adler Guirgis
12 Angry Men - Reginald Rose
The Laramie Project - Moises Kaufman & The Tectonic Theatre Project
You and Me and the Space Between - Finegan Kruckemeyer
This Girl Laughs, This Girl Cries, This Girl Does Nothing - Finegan Kruckemeyer
The Book of Will - Lauren Gunderson
MilkMilkLemonade - Joshua Conkel
You on the Moors Now - Jaclyn Backhaus
The Metamorphoses - Mary Zimmerman
Fuddy Meers - David Lindsay-Abaire
A Doll's House - Henrik Ibsen
A Doll's House Part 2 - Lucas Hnath
Men on Boats - Jaclyn Backhaus
The Snow - Finegan Kruckemeyer
The Phantom Tollbooth - Susan Nanus
Digging Up Dessa - Laura Schellhardt
Actually - Anna Ziegler - i'm not sure how I feel about this play. both characetrs are strongly written. a lot of potential for monologues.

*T-poses at you* character thoughts. Hand em over. /nf
... >:)
-Randy would be the kind of person to scare the shit out of someone for just being in odd places
-Keegan and Malli can and will both bite to protect themselves. And have! Ask Riker, Lauren, or Conner, they'll say it's true!
-Malli was narrowly allowed to wrestle in high school, due to his need to mask, but was granted with doctors note
^-The note was forged
-Wilford woukd just randomly lift Reginald up when he was a child, which Reginald absolutely enjoyed.
^-Later on, when Reginald turns into a teen/adult, Wilford turns from lifting him to scaring him. This wasn't a long period of time, but it still got Reginald to giggle
-Terrence would be the type of person to smoke weed and come out Very High with the munches after about half of a blunt.

The Saint: The High Fence (2.23, ITC, 1964)
"Why should I co-operate? Give me one good reason."
"Withholding information is a serious offence!"
"Then arrest me. Go ahead. Put me in jail, hound me the way you did Johnny! Six arrests..."
"Johnny was a confirmed criminal -"
"He was sick and he was frightened, he needed help! All he got was persecution."
#the saint#the high fence#1964#leslie charteris#itc#harry w. junkin#james hill#roger moore#james villiers#suzanne lloyd#ivor dean#reginald beckwith#stanley meadows#harry towb#dyson lovell#clare kelly#peter jeffrey#hazel hughes#richard poore#one of the episodes i most clearly remember from previous viewings‚ probably because of a twist that for once i didn't see coming#(i was young and naive!). Teal is back‚ peppermints in tow‚ and facing off against an unusually uptight James Villiers as one of the most#antagonistic policemen the series has seen so far. actually this whole episode is surprisingly critical of the police; where they're often#depicted as less able than Simon‚ here they're downright negligent and display a complete lack of grace or tact when talking to the#innocents (or at least only mildly guilty) caught up in the case. Harry Towb's nervous safecracker is notably shown in a more sympathetic#light than the officers who arrest him. this one also benefits from a great cast of perhaps lesser known Brit tv royalty; Jeffreys would go#on to bigger and better‚ as would Meadows‚ but actors like Towb and Lovell were great character players who never seemed to hit the big#time in the way they deserved. Suzanne Lloyd was a repeat guest star for the series (6 eps in all!) but this is one of her best outings#as she actually gets quite a bit to do‚ including some undercover work‚ and has one of the more developed characterisations of Simon's many#lady friends. Clare Kelly was often in comic work but here she gives a wonderful performance as a grieving widow full of rage
