But despite that, his brother means the world to him, and he's never held anything against him. He tends to have difficulty coming to Lyney with his grievances, however; which tends to be the main subject of their arguments. Both of them want the other to come to them with their troubles... but neither will come forth with their own.

Lynette - Freminet (@the-greatest-assistant) - family ★★★★★ Once again, a given. Freminet loves his sister just as much as he does his brother. Lynette often tries to comfort him when he feels inadequate and talks about how he's always the one they rely on whenever she accidentally breaks something. But even despite his sister's comforting words, Freminet wishes he could do more than just that.

Blaze - Freminet (@blaze-lightflame) - acquaintances ★★★☆☆ Freminet thinks Blaze is overall a kind and well-meaning girl. Although he still admittedly has trouble keeping up with her sometimes, he has no problems when he spends time with her, and she isn't necessarily overwhelming for him. He would love to hear her play the cello.

Sunny - Freminet (@sunny-outclaw) - strangers ★☆☆☆☆ No hard feelings! They've just never had a proper one-on-one conversation, and the only one they have had was when Sunny accidentally interrupted him at a bad moment and it ended very quickly. Besides that, they've only ever interacted by proxy of other people. Once again, however, he wouldn't be opposed to getting to know them more.

Eira - Freminet (@ask-eira-blanc) - friends ★★★☆☆ Eira was the one who got Freminet a brand new 'safety box' for him to hide in when his previous one was no longer viable, and he automatically respects her for that. Not only that, but she's also gone out of her way to comfort both him and his brother, Lyney, in the past. He greatly appreciates her, and wants to learn more about her as a person! She is absolutely on his mental list of options for people to go to if he's having a problem.

He still overthinks and worries, but he no longer feels his throat close up when he tries to speak to him, and no longer worries about every little thing he says and every little action he takes. He feels genuinely comfortable when with Lyn, and he'll forever appreciate that.

Chunhua - Freminet (@ask-astris-celeste) - partner ★★★★★ Freminet greatly appreciates Chunhua's company. Not only does he feel totally comfortable and safe around him, but he also finds him reliable, and his mind rarely wanders with worry when speaking to him. He remembers the ball in Snezhnaya that Chun helped him pick out an outfit for, and where he later spent most of his time during the feast right by Chunhua's side very fondly.

My least favourite type of internet person is the person who claims fanfic is over thousands of years old or whatever. I understand we like to joke but fanfiction is fundamentally tied to fandom culture and is a very specific way of engaging with media. Religious texts based off other religious texts is not fanfiction and it is worrying the only way you can justify your interest is by comparing the two. I promise you you don't have to reinvent the wheel to write fanfic you can just do that but we don't have to say "Shakespeare wrote fanfiction about Richard III", there was not a Richard III fandom in 1592, that was called the divine right of kings.

Alpha-17 and Obi-Wan being friends (derogatory) on 17's part and friends (threatening) on Obi-Wan's part is such an underrated dynamic

They could be so funny and terrifying, like Obi-Wan went through a soul shredding experience with Alpha-17 as his only company. They're friends because what else are you gonna be after you witness each other at absolute rock bottom from torture.

It's like 'dog put in cage of cheetah who's threatening to go crazy', except the dog is a grizzly bear and also threatening to go crazy.

Emotional support trooper except the trooper in question has never done any sort of supporting in his life and is actively an emotional distress trooper to a great number of the CC batch.

I want them texting everyday, I want Obi-Wan mailing handmade BFF bracelets to Alpha and Alpha sending pics back of him flipping off the camera but still wearing them, I want Alpha using Obi-Wan to keep track of and occasionally terrorize his cadets, I want 17 ending problems in the GAR (like Krell) before they begin because Obi-Wan has him shipped out on a personal transport at the first opportunity, decked out with slug-throwers Obi-Wan got him for his decant-day.

Natborn officers think this is all just an odd indulgence of General Kenobi, the Vode, however, correctly identify it as a goddamn threat and their danger assessment of Obi-Wan ticks up significantly.

It lights up: I'm afraid we've bonded, Alpha :). Alpha shuts it off and pockets it with resignation.

Cody arrives on Alpha-17's personal recommendation.

When Obi-Wan meets the rest of the CC batch, Cody makes sure to stand perfectly angled so that he can record the reactions when his general cuts off their introductions with "Oh, no need, Alpha-17's told me all about you." It's always immediate FEAR.JPG followed by a slow spiral of What The Fuck.

What do you mean by that General. What does that mean Cody. What do you mean they text. No. Cody. What the fuck is happening, Cody. Alpha-17 doesn't have friends he has enemies and enemies he tolerates enough not to shoot on sight.

OWK: Wolffe reached for his vambrace? when I mentioned you A-17: That's where he keeps his spare knife. OWK: Hm that does explain the way he eyed me up, ambitious. A-17: Clearly not enough, he should have followed through. I taught them better.

Yesterday, I went to Baltimore with the intention of visiting a friend in hospice. Her health had taken a sharp nosedive over the weekend, and on Monday evening, the doctors said she maybe had a week left.

What actually happened was I went to Baltimore to help clean out her stuff, because she died at 8:44 on Tuesday morning and my plane didn't land until 8:50. So me and another friend helped another friend/her roommate (before hospice) find important documents, as well as save sentimental items for her actual loved ones because her family, well.

Her friends were her family. But because she died intestate, the people in her family of choice were entitled to nothing under the law. Instead of her beloved, disabled partner, her estranged family has legal rights to her savings bonds and the rest of her estate. (Sometimes common-law partners can inherit but they weren't together long enough to meet that criterion.)

I knew this was coming for a long time. You don't recover from the brain cancer she had. But it still really hurts. And knowing that people she hadn't spoken to in years are getting that money instead of the person she loved most... well, that hurts too.

Please, if you don't have one already, make a will. It's not hard. We don't like to think about it, because nobody likes thinking about post-death legal matters, but you need to make a will. If you're in the US, you can use websites like Free Will. You don't need an estate attorney or anything like that. In many states, a notarized letter is fine. I don't know enough about international estate law to say anything in that regard, but take half an hour to google estate laws in your jurisdiction and put together a will.

If something happened to you tomorrow, who do you want taking care of your pets? Do you have a collection of anything that you want looked after? Do you want your money to go to a person, a charity, or something else specific? If you don't have kids, everything reverts to a spouse. If you don't have a spouse, it goes to your parents. I know I don't want to burden my parents with figuring out what to do with my tegu, my skeletal collection, or my library. But if I died tomorrow, my will would take care of all of that. Thinking about mortality isn't fun, but dying intestate is worse. Make a will.
