idea: imagine if Ren Serizawa somehow returned, apparently having survived his Mechagodzilla-induced electrocution, but there's something not quite right with him. and eventually it turns out he isn't actually Ren anymore, not mentally: he is now Ghidorah's consciousness and mind trapped within a human body and *seething* in repressed fury at what he's become.
The novelization did mention that Ren's body apparently vanished into the ether...

I found this old photo, apparently a behind-the-scenes or promo for GvK

I think of Serizava and Graham as tired of everything people who sometimes come to each other just to be quiet. Or sometimes to talk about their problems, listen carefully and calm down the other.
"They are really tired of all this".
Ren thinks about it every time he sees them sitting side by side in silence and drinking tea.

I imagine that Mechagodzilla in the Abraxasverse basically views Ren like how San views Vivienne - as his "brother", but the relationship is incredibly twisted. Mechagodzilla wants what Abraxas has, but a combination of the torture his brothers put him through as San, the Old Noise poisoning his thoughts, the sheer mental break that occurred from realizing Ichi and Ni never gave a shit about him, and the bare remnants of the love he remembers from before the Makers. And that defines him.
I do like the assimilated Ren-Mechagodzilla consciousness being a rowdy teenager because it's so different from the usual MonsterVerse/AbraxasVerse rogue's gallery. While it's not as immediately terrifying as canon Mechagodzilla was (minus the retroactive nerf hammerdown from Wingard), it still has the high potential to be terrifying because teenagers are capable of some monstrous stuff. Though I don't know how well a 'Redeemed' route will go down, considering this Mechagodzilla seems all too happy to possess someone into murdering their loved ones, even if that was a threat... when it's as Ghidorah-adjacent as this, it's more likely to be a promise than a threat.

I wonder how Ren learned of his fathers passing.
I like to think initially he found out via a Monarch contact (they have a pretty close relationship with Apex according to the GvK novelisation)
But only someone **close** to Serizawa could give him the details...Chen
