Rina’s a funny girl, she’s eccentric and cheerful who won’t waste the opportunity to tease her friends and start babbling nonsense in front of them. However, she’s quite a good strategist at games, especially combat genre – getting the title of Demon King of Strategy. She’s a quick learner, and can take advantage of your weaknesses and strengths in order to accomplish her goals.

Despite her very eccentric behavior, she’s quite friendly and can befriend most of the people who don’t think she’s obnoxious. She met V.V. (her V-mon partner) while playing a popular game and then ended up in the Digital World, having to fight the Seven Great Demon Lords with this mysterious and noble blue digimon – who later would reveal to be the Royal Knight UlforceV-dramon.

She and V.V. crossed their paths with the strange Cyber Sleuth Aiba, who gave them extra help to recover V.V.’s power from Barbamon. Due to her connection with Mikagura Mirei, Rina can hop into any other universe and world, lending a hand to anyone who needs help.

hiiiiiii! i'm so sorry this took me a whiiile to answer, but ty for sending in anon! <3 AND I'M INTRIGUE with this question tbh! I'm gonna talk about a few of them for this, Raylene, Naya, Rina, and Zeph!

Raylene: Honestly, she would be a good neighbor. Also, she likes to greet her neighbors, always with a wave. She doesn't really talk to them a lot, but a wave would subside. She will be a good neighbor, because well, she knows what its like having very terrible ones in the past.

Naya: Honestly, you never see her a lot at home much. So, she's the neighbor that doesnt really exist until well, a neighbor calls her out for it! She tends to come back home very late, and leave home very early. So, she never really made any enemies in the neighborhood so thats good for her. She just tend to disappear a lot heh.

Rina: BEST. NEIGHBOR. EVER. she would always bake and cook for her neighbors, and I headcanon, she's living next to this family for years now - and she would join the kids on their playdates and such. She can be intimidating, but she's the friendliest neighbor ever. Be greeted with flowers and sunshine in the morning, because our girl here is a morning person!

Zeph: well............not the best, also not the worst. But, well; pretty noisy at home. Honestly, he is the type of guy who accidentally plays his music TOO LOUD. but, learns his lesson when a neighbor kinda yell at him to stop, and he indeed stop. He is improving slowly, and slowly trying to...well, not be in the neighbors bad graces, but - also, his neighbor's cats would stop by his front door, everytime he leaves the house and he transform into a soft boy at the sight of it. Boy is a cat whisperer hehe!

i have no idea about anything that happens in splatoon but can u please tell me about those two pearl and marina bitches theyre so funny

unfortunately for you its late so i will not be going into the full splatoon super fan mode for this explanation(lying).

Okay so Marina and Pearl are the idols for Splatoon 2 together they make the duo Off the Hook. Pearl raps (MC Princess) and Marina djs (DJ Hyperfresh). We actually know very little about Marinas past in comparison to other idols outside of her being a Very smart and capable soldier/engineer (she was building weapons of war dw abt it) but Pearl comes from a super unfathomably rich family and was a punk/metal singer prior to Off the Hook (her notable song from that time being called 'Fuckin Dudes Be Fuckin Sleepin' im not censoring that) Marina met Pearl after leaving the army, after some weeks gave her the demo for a song she made called Ebb & Flow and Pearl was like let's make music and that was their first song. (the full 'Fly Octo Fly ~ Ebb & Flow' sounds better to me personally but whatev) The idols from Splat 1 Callie and Marie (Squid Sisters) are I believe formally trained singers/dancers and in comparison Off the Hook were described as being naturally talented. Further while the Squidsters are meant to be rivals (represented by a Fox and Tanuki) Off the Hook are supposed to have an incredibly close and strong bond (represented by a Crane and a Turtle) the final splatfests for both of these games also reflect this (though ironically Rina and Pearl are also partially based on Biggie and Tupac) Pearl is the more brash and outgoing of the 2 where Marina is more shy. They have the most synergy of all the idols I think. It comes through in their music, art, and dialogue/interactions and that's what makes them so enjoyable <:] That's all I'm giving for lore but for fun facts outside of what I've already mentioned

Pearl's voice can cause shockwaves that cause mass destruction (in 'Fuckin Dudes Be Fuckin Sleepin' you can hear glass somewhere shatter at the end bc of this)

Marina likes to draw and makes shoujo manga (or has made at least one titled Dear Pearl)

Marina designed the collection of 24 splatfest stages/maps called Shifty Stations which use octarian tech as well as the Flooder (the Shifty Station stages are named after different western novels in english and shoujo manga in japanese)

Pearl has a custom weapon called the Princess Cannon (which aids in the previously mentioned mass destruction)

There's Off the Hook branded cereal and plushies in the splatooniverse

In jpn lyrics to Off the Hook's songs are written in katakana(Rina) and hiragana(Pearl) because in world they're singing in different languages. Some game dialogue is like this also.

a few notes: very loosely based off aespa’s lore so i kinda made up stuff for the plot ok don’t hate me :) + fem!reader + please take this as an apology for jaemin’s broken melody taking too long, the draft deleted itself like twice however i’m working on it once again :( + was formerly a full fic so it's a little long + i also really hate this :)

“look, if you come to kosmo with me then this can all go away. just say the word and i’ll take you there.” karina begins to plea, she walks around the lab. “i’ll protect you, we’ll protect you.” she’s now in front of you and holding your hands. her thumb strokes your hand in an effort to coax you into going with her.

“i simply can’t, rina. you know that so please stop asking.” you push her hands off and walk over to the desk ningning is working at.

she carefully re-wires giselle’s headset, checking each side to make sure everything is connected. “it should be fine now. give it a try later on in the range and we’ll fix it later on if it’s still not working.” she calls to giselle, handing you the headset to pass it to her.

“please, just listen to me-” she begins to plea once more.

“just let it go.” you state firmly, giving her a warning look.

she rolls her eyes and grabs your wrist, pulling you out of the lab and into the hallway. she stares at you intensely and instantly you do the same as a way to silently challenge her. eventually her eyes softened but yours stayed the same.

“naevis got hurt, because of you might i add, and now she’s here, she can’t be here. you’ll take her to kosmo and you’ll help her get better. in order to get her there i’ll create a diversion in kwangya. that’s what’s happening, quit arguing with me.” you tell her firmly.

her brows frown at you, reminding her of the last time she was there, reminding her of the fact that you’re willing to sacrifice yourself for her friends. “you can’t.”

“i can, i have to. you have to as well so just drop it please!” you push past her, ready to send go back into the lab.

karina catches you hand and pulls you back to her. “why can’t we talk about it?”

“because, rina!”

“no! why?!”

“because i’m scared, ok! you’re reminding me every minute that i could get killed, i know! i’m scared i will die and i don’t need the woman i love reminding me every chance she gets!”

the realisation hits her like a truck, that’s why you’ve been so dismissive. it also explains why you’ve been nothing but lovey dovey with her for weeks since the plan was decided. you’d been trying to savour every moment with her. you’ve been taking her on a date at least once a week to spend more time with her, picnics, arcades, go karting, the beach, anything she said she wanted to do was done without a second thought.

the pair of you had just gotten back from a picnic in the forest three hours ago, you spent so much time making the food, finding the freshest fruit for her and finding books for you two to read to each other.

slowly she pulls you into a hug, one hand on your head and the other on your waist. your hands gradually meet around her waist. her cheek rests on the top of your head and your cheek rests on her shoulder.

“ae-winter said she’s stay back with me but i’m still scared and you keep reminding me of it.” you sniffle.

she starts stroking your hair, “oh honey, i’m so sorry.” she says genuinely, softly. she leans into you more and you sink down to get more comfortable. “i just don’t want you to get hurt, naevis is close to me, sure, but i can’t live without you.”

karina was someone who ruled with an iron fist, she told people what to do and it was done. to the girls and anyone that looked up to her she was all knowing and was someone the people could depend on. she was their saviour and without her, and the rest of her team, the real world would be in shambles. yet without you her world would be in shambles. the reason she goes out daily to save the world is to make it a better place for you, a better place for the small family you planned to have. when you offered to create the diversion she needed to get their friend to kosmo, to the safe haven, for treatment winter, giselle and ningning were immediately on board and the four of you created a plan without letting the leader know.

the thought of not coming home to you made her want to cry on the spot, which was unbelievably hypocritical considering you would sit on the couch every other night bouncing you knee and picking at your cuticles waiting for her. when she did come back and see you sleeping on the couch, you tried staying up for her but sleep was just too convincing to which you would apologise for and she would give you a kiss and say it's fine, it would remind her what she's fighting for. the reason why she had to live because without you she was unsure of how.

you take one of your arms away from her and rub just under your eye in the hopes to halt your tears before they fall.

"i'm willing to do it because i love you, and i love the girls and i love naevis and the ae's and the people you protect, they were my people once. just because i stopped fighting years ago doesn't mean i can't do it at all." you explained to her, sounding almost like a toddler whining that they can't get their own way.

"i'm sure you can, i just don't want you to alone. do you want my ae along wi-"

"no, you're both the strongest so you both need to go."

"how abo-"

"you're doing that thing again, where you doubt me even though you know i can do it but you want me to think i can't so i stay." you look up at her and she pulls her head back.

she presses her lips into a thin line and you watch as she silently cries looking at you. "but the last time you went you got hurt, it was my fault, again, i don't want you to go. i really don't."

you meet eyes with her and you can see the pain and the hurt and the guilt she's been holding in for the past few months. maybe even years. her grip on you firms and you immediately match it. "promise me you won't get hurt."

she places a kiss your temple and puts her chin back on top of your head, you take this as a sign to snuggle right back in between her shoulder and neck. "i can't make a promise like that, not there." you mumble, getting cozy for possibly your last embrace.

"please, promise me." she begs.

"i can't." you shake your head.

"and ae-winter will definitely be there?" she questions, trying to calm herself more than anything.

"when has she ever lied to you?" you hear her hum in agreement.

you both stay like this for a few minutes, both silently appreciating what you have before it could be gone.

at the beginning of your relationship karina refrained from holding you at all, she was worried her strength would hurt you, although most of it was contained in her glove there were times when she would feel so angry or emotional or overjoyed and it would just take over and she couldn’t help it. you had to initiate all skinship and you never held that against her, you had fought the black mamba once much like she had, you were the one that locked it away for so long, so you understood that each girl had a power and her’s just happened to be strength.

eventually you had gotten her to hug you first and you learned to deal with the too tight hugs and potential bruises because it was all worth it. that was what made this embrace so much more than the others, not only could this be your last but it would hurt too much to let you get hurt after getting over the fear of hurting you herself.

“please don’t go.” you hear her whisper, mainly to herself in the hopes that she could trick herself into thinking you’ll be there when she gets home.

“if i don’t go, who will?” you get no response.

“who’s going to fight it, hm?” silence. “i’ve been the only one to do it so far, although i can’t get rid of it this time naevis must come first to you.” you tell her reluctantly.

you can feel her shake her head.

“if it comes to it…” you begin reluctantly, letting her go and standing back far enough to create a noticeable gap between the pair of you.

“you have to chose the world over me.” you whisper.

“you know i can’t do that.” she reaches forward but you pull back.

“you have to.” you state firmly.

before she has the chance to reply you wipe your tears and walk past her back into the lab.

karina stays there frozen. hurt. angry. heartbroken. it feels like you stood there, ripped her heart out and crushed it right in front of her.

she hears the lab door shut and concludes that you’ve gone in there to get your stuff, she stays outside and waits for you not wanting to see you when emotions are so high.

“winter,” you call softly, gaining the attention of all three girls in the room “come here for a minute.”

she comes over and you move closer to her in order to whisper, she notices and leans her ear slightly towards you.

“once you get to kosmo you can jump from here to there without needing to go through kwangya anymore,” she nods. you take a deep breath before continuing, “if i can’t get out too shut the portal and leave me behind.”

she stands back in anger, how could you suggest something like that, and begins to shake her head. “you can synk and bring your ae back to safety.”

“it’s not that, it’s you! you can’t do that!” she defends.

the other girls stand up at her shouting, clearly confused by her behaviour.

she turns back to them. “she wants one of us to leave her behind if we need to,” she turns back to you “what about us and karina and this life you’ve built?”

the door clicks shut.

you sigh and look away from her, laughing in disbelief. “you’re acting like i said close it regardless, it’s only a what i-”

“i’ll do it.” karina states, from the way her voice slightly shakes you can tell it’s out of anger more than anything.

“you can’t, ri.” giselle is quick to stop her.

“she wants to go, so be it.” she says like she would when mentioning the weather.

you begin. “you’re high on emotions, i’d rather win-”

“well, beggars can’t be choosers.” she replies.

before anyone can get a word in an alarm sounds within the lab.

you shoot karina a look that tells her you’re sorry, you love her and you won’t be angry at her if the ‘what if’ comes true and that you hope it doesn’t, if it does there's a high chance you wouldn't see each other again and that pained the both of you.

but you had to consider it, for the greater good.
