Vriska's luck has just run out, as her victim has crash-landed in front of the worst person imaginable - the justice-motivated Seer who knows her intimately. She's basically already been caught.

Terezi just wanted a quiet place to think, as she sorts through her complicated feelings surrounding Green Dave's death. A murder investigation will at least serve as a distraction.

It's a pretty trivial one to solve, too. There’s only one troll on the meteor with a grudge against Tavros, and it wouldn't be the first time she's pushed him off a cliff. I don't think Vriska will be talking her way out of this one - and that's if she's even bothered to try.

If Vriska's starting to kill again, she might have decided that it's time to abandon the team completely. This could be the moment she sheds her (already disputable) anti-hero moniker, and graduates to full villain.

This is a pretty clever idea, actually. Usually when you message someone on Trollian, it lives up to its name by serving up a completely random timeframe, confusing your conversations with what I'm almost convinced is deliberate malice.

Employing a password system to keep things linear is a very creative countermeasure – although it’s not exactly foolproof, since Kanaya could request future passwords from her own older self.

I’m really liking this no-bullshit incarnation of Jade. It’s an attitude we haven’t seen from any of these other jokesters – and as we've recently discussed, it’s particularly striking to see it from Jade Harley, who’s been silly since day one.

The Celts and the Basques

A map showing what Eupedia has dubbed as the Italo-Celtic variants of the Indo-European R1b Y-DNA haplogroup, the most prevalent in most Western Europe.

Contrary to the popular thesis of the Celtic expansion from the early Hallstatt Culture - centered around Austria - this maps suggests an Atlantic origin of the ancient Celts.

Barry Cunliffe, a former Oxford Professor for European archaeology, proposed that a trade network existing over millennia across the Western coast of Europe led to the formation of a somewhat homogenous group, at least in terms of culture, which came to be known as the Celts by the early Iron Age.

However, linguistic evidences support a Celtic origin in the east (Indo-European), the genetic evidence supports an origin in the west, and archaeology points at to two different cultures identified as "Celtic" in both locations. So are the Celts, as proposed by Cunliffe, indigenous to Europe, or are they Indo-European?

Genetics say they were non-IE: haplogroup R1b-S116, commonly found among the early Celts is also found in a very high frequency among the only non-Indo-European people in the western part of the continent, the Basques, among which this particular Haplogroup reaches a high of 75%.

So the Celts were European natives, once widespread throughout the continent that possibly got pushed to the fringes of Europe with the arrival of the Indo-Europeans. Over time most of the indigenous population assimilated into the new culture from the east and gradually lost their native speech, except for the Basques. But because of the ancient Atlantic trade network, which had been in place for millennia at this point, and the fact that these ‘Atlantic People’ spoke similar languages (or perhaps even a single ‘Proto-Basque’ language) in the past, maybe they jointly developed a Proto-Celtic tongue out of a combination of the old and the new.
