I'm sure I mentioned this before, but I went into this game thinking I'd be so into Astarion like everyone else on the internet, but Gale has captivated me. Babygirl I am enthralled by your nerdiness and inability to shut up.

°•IF THE BG3 COMPANIONS BABYSAT YOUR KIDS!•°
Tumblr media
Lae'zel
Congratulations your children are spending an afternoon at boot camp!
You can rest assured they will be treated fairly at least.
No favoritism going on here.
Anyone who misbehaves shall be sent to solidarity confinement and left there until....Idk
If they want a snack they WILL have to fight one another in a duel to the death.
Or at least until one of them falls down and cries.
To the winner go the cookies.
Or more accurately maybe some giant space hamster jerky.
Karlach
This is assuming her engine has been fixed, naturally.
The kids absolutely love Auntie K.
Legit can carry them all on her shoulders at once.
She gives the best hugs too and is always so nice and warm.
She is up to play any games with them! Especially ones where she pretends to be a monster and chases them around.
Very protective of the little ones.
Brings them new stuffies each time she visits.
You MUST remind her constantly to watch her language around the little ones!
Gale
Arrives via magic portal.
Brings Tara to help him.
Takes it very personally if one of the children don't like him.
Tries to impress them via magic and creates a magical illusion to entertain the kiddos.
Attempts to teach them everything he knows about the weave.
Takes it very hard if the children fall asleep during his lecture.
Must be consoled by Tara.
If any take an interest in the weave they immediately become his favorite.
You'll probably end up coming home to your home appliances floating or having some kind of enchantment on them.
Halsin
Yes he turns into a bear and lets them ride on his back.
Most time is spent outside enjoying nature and all of its beauty.
Will carry the littlest one on his shoulders at all times.
Always brings healthy snacks, mostly fruit like apple slices.
Proceeds to take them to a nearby pond to feed the ducks.
Widdles them little animal figures to play with.
No TV or video games. The thought of technology taking over their lives makes him sick.
We play outside or we don't play at all.
Doesn't mind them grabbing at his ears, if they can even reach them that is!
He has to remind one of them multiple times that he unfortunately cannot turn into a dragon.
Sad sad truth.
Shadowheart
Makes cute little flower crowns with them.
Helps the little ones feel better if any of them are afraid of the dark.
Is very good at comforting them.
Possibly might be one of the older one's first goth girl crush.
Badmouths Lae'zel in front of them shamelessly.
Always puts on a tim Burton movie or something for them to watch.
Definitely the reason for any of their emo phases.
They think she's really cool though.
Wyll
Always the first to volunteer to babysit.
Man has the patience of a saint and can handle even the most unruly of children.
Always talks them up and is very careful to never put them down.
Tells them all kinds of exciting stories of his time as the Blade.
Makes sure to adjust them to be suitable for the kiddos.
Leaves out the scary parts.
If any of them are mean to one another and can't get along he's the type to make them each say something nice about the other as a punishment.
Let's them play with toy swords and teaches them a thing or two about using them.
Never raises his voice at them. Is super calm and collected.
Loves them all to pieces!
Also may or may not take them out to get ice cream if they're good.
Astarion
Assuming this is Spawnstarion we're talking about because the vampire Ascendant would just laugh in your face if you asked him then slam the door on you.
Our sweet little spawn will also likely laugh and think you're joking at first.
"You seriously want a vampire to watch over your children?"
Assuming you pay him and be sure to give him big sweet puppy dog eyes he may consider it.
This man is a very not my child not my problem kind of guy.
Gets annoyed with all the children asking tedious vampire questions and responds with very sarcastic answers.
Does not approve of them wanting to touch his ears.
Agrees to let them see his fangs in hopes to scare them (the mischievous little shit).
The children instead think they're cool, which confuses him. He really isn't sure how to feel about it.
Threatens to eat them if they get on his nerves.
Spends most of the time on the sofa, boredly reading a magazine or watching television.
Miraculously takes a shine to one of the younger girls who call him pretty and compliments his clothes and hair.
This is also given the girl is a little mischief gremlin who pulls pranks on her older siblings.
He lets her paint his nails purple or red while she gossips about her mother/father's new partner or her siblings.
Unapologetically shows her favoritism and lets her sit on his lap and watch TV with him.
Will not bat an eye if the other children run a muck and destroy shit.
Legit just keeps watching TV. Probably some drama filled 'reality' show.
He actually finds the chaos caused by the children quite amusing.
One of the children somehow ends up on the roof.
Once the parents are home and it's time to leave. The youngest girl gives him a hug.
His eyes get all big and round and almost threaten to tear up.
Astarion is not asked to babysit again.
Sorry some of them are so short, I mostly write for Astarion so I'm not very confident at doing the other characters.
Hope you like it though!

So u see, i decided to play as myself in BG3, and the 1st body is the closest one to my body but it has boobs. I decided that they are actually 2 bags of holdings instead, cos it also explains why i can carry the whole camp with me.
Yes I am aware there is a flat chest mod for this game too, but the clothing option is still limited, naturally, and I'm not jumping in modding of another game when I'm still burnout from modding cp77 lmao.
Istg it's 2024 and we still cannot have body customization like saints row in every single game. It's a crime against humanity tbh.

One of the things that exhausts me about parts of the BG3 fandom is how they talk about 'good' and 'evil' runs, as if you're either playing a saint or a genocidal megalomanical idiot with nothing inbetween.
There's almost zero acknowledgement that you can play a complete bastard and end up with good outcomes and tons of personal power. Apparently the ends justify the means, good outcomes = good person, and being 'actually' evil just means you get less content and that's unfair.
We have endless examples from real life and history of people who achieved things widely regarded as good who were completely rotten people, their paths to victory paved with the bodies of those they trampled on their way there, even when they would have achieved even better outcomes had they not. Great evils have been caused in the name of ostensible good.
And you can do that in this game! Your character can achieve great good while leaving a trail of innocent bodies in their wake. They can restore peace while destroying lives and encouraging their nearest and dearest to be their worst selves. They can cheat, lie, manipulate, and even brainwash people to do what they want. They can do it with cruel calculation or thoughtless disregard.
But, since it doesn't cause the incredible widescale devestation of an evil playthrough, it's just 'good'.

If at the beginning of this year someone would have told me that I'd be happily drawing faces and humans I would have died laughing but here I am now. My Astarion folder is almost as full as the folder that has all the 2023 art.
I have to thank bg3 for pulling me out of the deep deep slump that I was in. I didn't said anything because what's the point but I was debating on stopping drawing altogether because I was deeply depressed (still am but that's a different story) and I just had no inspiration or motivation to draw anything and I was forcing myself out of necessity. But once I played and replayed bg3 I was possessed by the need to draw Astarion. So yeah I guess thank you Larian and thank you stupid sexy pale elf.
And my old Destiny followers, don't think I have forgotten you, it's just that currently there is absolutely nothing that pulls me towards Destiny. I will not stop drawing for Destiny and once something catches my eye (or I hear a faint whisper in my head that compels me to draw Saint or Felwinter) I will be back :)

A Rose is a Rose? Some Analysis on Raphael's name.
On a certain discord, someone noted that Raphael's name seemed like a regular name. I paused, considered, and when I realized I was writing more than a paragraph, I decided to do a quick analysis instead.
Raphael is the name for one archangels in Abrahamic religious texts whose name is derived from the Hebrew phrase 'God has Healed'. Though never named in the bible itself, Raphael is associated as the angel that saved Lot in Genesis and associated as the angel who healed disfigured people in the Gospel of John.
However, Raphael is featured prominently in the Book of Tobit, a religiously inspired fictional text that was written after the Babylonian exile of the Jews in 5th century BCE.
A very rough summary of the story is as follows: Tobit is Jewish gravedigger who is blinded and becomes dependent on his wife, fearing she'll cheat on him and wishes for death. Meanwhile, a young woman named Sarah also prays for death when she is stalked by a demon named Asmodeus who kills her suitors.
God hears their prayers and Raphael is sent to help both by traveling with Tobit's son, Tobias. Together they drive away Asmodeus back to hell for Sarah, and Tobias marries her. Raphael travels with them to make sure they return save to Tobais' home. Once there, the archangel heals Tobit rejoices and reminds the exiled Israelis that God will return them home before leaving.
Though popular in Judaism and Christianity as a story, the Catholic and Eastern Church consider it apart of their religious canon.
Under the Catholic Church, Raphael was deemed a saint for his roles in the bible and in the book of Tobias on top of being an archangel. He is considered a patron of travelers, happy meetings, healers, courting, and marriage.
Some of this might feel like a stretch but I got to thinking:
Raphael is the only villain in the game that follows along with Tav/Durge with the promise to save them.
Most of the meetings with Raphael are helpful and remarkably agreeable for a devil.
Raphael proves that he can 'heal' you in Act 3.
The the stretch that you can feel in your hamstrings is likely courtship and marriage, but his situation with Hope and Haarlep play prominently in his interactions in Act 3.
However, what nails it in the coffin this wasn't a coincidence for me is the fact that Asmodeus (the figure that DnD's Asmodeus is based on) has a very explit association with the archangel Raphael.
I don't know if the later will prove to become something more, considering Raphael in BG3 is fated to die -- but it's fun to think about.

Samson belongs to @fandomchokehold
Maxi is mine
So YOU want to be a doctor?
‘S been A WHILE since I mentioned this encounter, I think back when I first found Samson is when I mentioned it. How an encounter would go between this baby boy and….Maxi…. He’s my 400+ yr old doctor of mine own, same as Mark, Maxi is a dnd character of mine that never got to be played past a few sessions but I loved dearly. If Mark is the fuzzy old dad, Maxi is the sassy ass grandma who’s been to war and back and brought the fury of hell with em. One that could make even a sailor sound like a saint with his language habits, so the curiousness of the Good Doctor meetin the Mad Doctor….I would love to know and see how that would go.
Sadly Maxi bein such a fancy breed, there’d be no way to bring him in bg3 the game.( I suck at mods…) But I can drag him in this way for my own joy when I wanna~ Astarion would have a challenge to be the most flamboyant bastard in camp if Maxi came to town.

Idk how to word this or how fully fleshed out this idea is, but I'm having this recurring experience where people will applaud a piece of media for representation but in actuality the media is (or started off as) making fun of the thing they're "representing."
So for example in my post about BG3 not having any options for your Tav to be fat, people in the tags mentioned that the Saint's Row games allow you to make fat characters, but a few people mentioned that in Saint's Row having a fat character is played off as a joke. I haven't played those games, but it made me wonder: would I rather play a game where I can't make a character who looks like me, or a game where I can but my inclusion is meant as a joke?
That got me thinking about Parks and Recreation, a show I loved deeply while also cringing almost every episode at the fatphobia. People point to Donna as being a great fat character and applaud the show for portraying her as a desirable woman, but that aspect of her character was initially a joke. It was played off as surprising that someone like her could be popular with men. This is even more true with a character like Fat Amy in the Pitch Perfect movies. In college, fat women I was friends with would talk about loving Fat Amy and identifying with her but when I watch those movies all I see is a caricature of a fat woman, her sexual desires played for laughs because who could possibly want someone like her?
People also give credit to It's Always Sunny for the episode where Mac comes out to his dad (which is a beautiful scene). I love It's Always Sunny, but the "Mac is a closeted gay man" aspect of the show started with Mac dating a trans woman. His storyline originates from a joke at the expense of trans women. There's an argument to be made that the other characters calling Mac gay for dating a trans woman is just an example of those characters being horrible assholes, which is the point of the show. But if they as a writing team decided "hey, Mac actually is gay," I feel like that changes the implication of the original joke, right?
I don't know. There's a power in taking something that was supposed to hurt you and saying "actually this is mine now, you can't hurt me with this," but at the same time I wish that weren't kind of the only option when it comes to fatness.
I don't really like talking about fat politics online because a) people are horrible and b) someone is always like "you only care about this because you're fat." Yeah, that's probably true! Because (for the most part) thin people don't give a shit about fat people at BEST, and are disgusted by/hate fat people at worst.

[I send you a pestilence such as the world has never seen. Your rivers will turn into blood and plague will seep into your sleep, into your dreams...] [... And when hope has been whittled down to the very marrow of despair, that's when you'll come knocking on our door]
It's done, finally. The "cover art" for my BG3 prequel. (Also fun fact: Raksha is 7'1". I just like drawing Cambion!Raphael big)
A Holy Inquisitor and a Devil. Sacred and Profane. AKA how these two will start as a loving couple only to end up in a spiral of mutual destruction.
Buckle up, we go into a lengthy character analysis below.
The reason he got attracted to her in the first place is pure, unfiltered narcissism: he saw himself in her ego, her ambition and personality. Said attraction turned into affection and eventually love when she told him about her past - mirrors of each other. Raphael also becomes very protective with Raksha - to a fault.
(This will be explained further in the story itself) Raksha herself was happy to find someone who wouldn't look at her with fear (reverential or not) and that would enjoy watching the operas/theatre plays she loves.
They're similar but opposites: one being the literal son of one of Hell's Archdevils and the other a messianic archetype who unknowingly has Archdevil blood (Baalzebul's) herself - close enough to be relevant but NOT enough for her to be a Cambion.
Raksha was adopted and raised by a strict archdeacon in a cathedral as proof that he could "turn a devil into a saint", so you can already guess her views on things like sexuality (she and her companions have a literal vow of chastity going on).
Tumblr media
She demonizes sexuality and doesn't live her attraction to Raphael well (let alone when she finds out he's a Cambion. Girl was ready to break her vow for him). But he does help her to get a more healthy view on intimate stuff. :)
Raksha "sends the plagues" (spells like Contagion and Insect Plague) to villages that - according to her or the religious institutions that call for her help - need the divine help of Ilmater to purify themselves from their sins. Her idea is that, if you survive, you have successfully repented. Of course, some people would rather make a deal with someone like Raphael to live than trust the divine forces that put them through such torment.
In the piece you can see how it's Raphael sneaking a hand under her shirt and holding her tail with his - she's *trying* to appear as the virtuous one resisting temptation but is actually smiling complicit. The uncensored piece is a bit more... Explicit about it. [ You can find it on my 18+ Twitter @/paprikadust :) ]
Raksha is young (she's 23, 24 when they marry) and never had a relationship before, so she mistakes his possessiveness for love until she finally snaps (a big factor for this is finding out about Hope), escapes and goes into hiding after 6 years together. Raphael being himself of course becomes absolutely obsessed to find his wife. (I mean, before actually even talking to her, he stalked Raksha for 4 years. From 19 to 23)
Also I'm not a fan of people forgetting about what he did to Hope. I think he's actually quite dominant with Raksha in bed and does have servants checking on her whenever he can't be close enough to control what she does.
The prequel ends as the events of Baldur's Gate 3 take place.
Also closeup. :D

Upcoming Asks List (03.06.24)
The upcoming asks for the week ahead are: [In no particular order]
Mothmom's OC: Trevor Belmont x Chubby!Reader NSFW HC (not prompted, just something I had finished a while ago and wanted to share)
Anonymous asked: Hey there, if you’re still up for receiving asks, what do you think it would be like caught in a poly relationship with Ratko/Varney? Preferably with a human reader (male or gn please). Maybe with the reader playing a similar role to Saint Germaine, although more willingly? I love the two disasters.
yeetmetotahiti asked: Hello, may I have a bg3 matchup please? I am a bisexual female, 29, brown curly hair that reaches my mid back, green eyes with blue around the pupil, and I’m 5’4”. I usually prefer men over women and not open to poly relationships. I am definitely very outspoken and sassy. I will let my opinion be known, but I won’t step on anyone’s toes about it. I am passionate, chaotic, proud, yet protective, loyal, and humorous. I take a while to warm up to somebody, but when I do we are inseparable. I love to kayak, hike, paint, swim, play board and video games with friends, and sleep. I am a competitive archer and a zookeeper. So I’m used to large animals and not as afraid of them as I should be.
Anonymous asked: Could I ask for some yandere alucard post season 3 with a s/o that isn’t human or only part human? Like being half fae, nymph or siren. I just think the dynamics of that relationship would be quite different then say if the object of his obsession was human given his lack of faith in humanity in season 3s aftermath
Anonymous asked: Platonic Yandere Trevor finding out that he isn’t the last Belmont, and that his younger sister escaped or was spared because she was a iligitamate child of the family and not publicly known to be a Belmont and the church assumed she was just a servant of the house

Because I believe that Sceleritas Fel hates the chosen for all in some way contributing to his sweet master being diposed (Kethric for always planning to allow Orin to take their place, Gortash for the events that lead to the Prayer for Forgiveness and Orin for being the defective Bhallspawn that dared to try and murder his sweet master) I believe that there is so much opportunity for fuckery in ACT 2 at Moonrise Towers.
Like, I'm still on my first durge playthrough and I'm doing a redemption playthrough so I'm not sure what happens if you kill Isobel, however I think it's not a jump to say Fel wants durge to kill Isobel partly to get back at Kethric.
And I just think Sceleritas Fel telling the Dark Urge "BTW sweet master, you know this guy! Pretty well in fact! He helped cover up your attempted murder and was complicit," because I think it'd add interesting angst and dialogue choices, "so anyway moving on, do you want to know some stuff about him that when you see him again is going to make him shit himself?"
With BG3 being a role player game I understand that stuff like the party planning what they'll do how they'll attack and will they pretend or so forth happens 'off screen' and is more implied than anything since you control the companions whilst in combat. But also given the dialogue choices give approval and disapproval points I'm just saying sometimes the durge/tav deviates from what they're SUPPOSED to be saying and I think that added onto my idea of Sceleritas Fel telling the Dark Urge about Thorm adds brilliant opportunity for something like this:
Party enters the tower -> Durge greets ppl like they're new but enters the kitchens for the Gnolls bc Fel mentioned them -> ppl/Gnolls in the kitchen think Durge is back. They do not correct this. The whole Party is confused. -> enters throne room. Goblin cutscene plays out.
"Why don't we let our new friend decide?" Says Kethric.
Only for the most devious, most 'oh there are far too many teeth in that maw, but more teeth makes it easier to kill doesn't it?' Smile to crack across their face and they look not dissimilar to the few times the party has seen the Dark Urge lose themselves in the throes of battle, when the amnesiac companion who (if we take this as a redemption durge) is repulsed by themselves after awakening, can't quite tell who or what they really are once they have blood beneath their nails. And the party go 'oh shit' bc has the center of the absolute taken hold of that urge? But wait... Kethric Thorm has lost his composure, if only for a second. That smile MEANS SOMETHING to the man.
And so the Dark Urge continues, "New friend? Old Bones changes his friends as often as his goddesses'."
(Gonna be honest, Old Bones as a nockname comes from no Saint without audience on AO3, by Ikarons who's portrayal of the Dark Urge kind of rewrite my brain abt pre tadpole Dark Urge and durge in general)
And it shakes Kethric. Because the Bhallspawn speaks like they KNOW him, but they shouldn't... and yet they were the first True Soul, the first independent and a master of the Elderbrain so perhaps even she has her favourites. The Bhallspawn seems to always be a favourite child. And if the Bhallspawn knows him, has collected true soul allies who knows what their plans on? Perhaps it would be best to let this play out; to not alert Gortash (who may foil the plan, who may make the Bhallspawn falter yet again) and Orin (who he would not be opposed to watching be ripped apart by her kin.) just yet.
Perhaps it would be fair to see what the favourite child of Bhall is like now that they seemingly have kept companions alive and loyal without them baring thr crazed marks of Bhalls butchers?
"Of course, how could I forget the butcher? Now, friend, your decision?"
(Meanwhile the party is in utter disarray bc wtf is happening. Which at the next long rest/trio back to camp could trigger a scene where you reveal the existence of Sceleritas Fel and that he has revealed some information about Kethric but only that which you knew BEFORE, refusing to allaborate on how you knew then.
