Most of my pots are ugly (some are not even pots but old plastic containers) but this one was a gift last year and I like the grey of the pot and the silver of the scindapsus cuttings, they look good together.

Nail day today and this is what I've decided to wear.
These are from the latest FarbeNostalgia launch and I'm so happy with the performance of them, and the colours!
Indie brands really don't get enough love honestly.
Also had to include some of my plants in the photos <3 I'm obsessed with them.
~~~
Polishes used:
FarbeNostalgia - Chinese Aster (accent)
FarbeNostalgia - Luck (main)
FarbeNostalgia - Coneflower (main)
FarbeNostalgia - Prosperity (accent)
Went to the dollar store & decided to do some plant crafting.
There ya go, two salt & pepper shakers, and a lil' box to put them in.
Add paint & cuttings.
Boom, propagation station for $3.75 USD. (Dollar Tree is now $1.25 🤦🏻‍♀️)
*edit*
Did I say propagation? Yeah, this is officially become a rehab ward. 😬 Trying to keep these finicky assholes alive.
As we move through the second half of February, my brain has clearly shifted to spring. For one thing, I have already written the March transit report in full (it just needs editing and then it will be up for my supporters on Kofi), but I'm also already getting the major Chop & Prop bug. Already. In mid-February.
I'm still working on filling out some of my plants because a lot of them started last year as small cutting or barely rooted babies. I prefer it this way because a plant that can grow in my house from a young age has a better chance of surviving my personal environment. But I also love Big Plants. I love full plants. I love lush plants.
I ruthlessly chopped and propped my Monstera adensonaii all last summer until I had a plant that looked like the right amount of fullness to grow up the moss pole in the corner of my living room. I've also been constantly propping and filling in the two pothos (Cebu Blue and Neon) that I traded for tiny cuttings. I have a few strong contenders right now. My Hoya australlis Lisa took a hot minute to figure out how I wanted to grow her on the trellis so I'm going to cut off the bare vine and start over. Only one of the growth points on my Scindapsus pictus Exotica is trailing so I'm thinking about propping that, too. I might restart my Philodendron Painted Lady now that I've figured out the lighting it wants. And the cutting of the so-called Christmas Cactus that my Mother-in-law gave me (I'm...not sure about the ID on this. It's not a Truncata.) could use a trim and prop, too.
I was thinking about trying to wait until the Equinox, at least. Things prop much faster here in the summer when it's hot and humid.
Every instinct in my blood is screaming now, though.
A friend visited me today to not only drop off my 2 ordered manga from way yonder, she also dropped me off two additional manga which were on my huntlist and also gave me cuttings of several houseplants from her own collection!! We also chatted a bunch which I'm very happy about as well since we haven't seen each other in person in YEARS.
I was not expecting so much plant material! I wanted to give her one of my Clivia plants in return but being the spider mite infestation is still too recent ago for either of our tastes we decided she can have a plant later. Thinking about it maybe even seeds from one of my plants to play it extra safe considering how lovely her collection is and how strict she is with dealing with sickly plants (the VERY valid "it's too much risk/trouble, throw em out" mantra).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It took me a bit to get them all potted since my attention span kept fizzling out and I wasn't 100% sure what pots to use and where to put all these lads. for now they can stay in my bedroom separate from my main collection (moreso for the safety of these new plant cuttings rather than the safety of my old plants).
I ended up getting a variegated birdsnest snake plant, Scindapsus pictus exotica, Scindapsus pictus, String of turtles, Philodendron mican (and several other Philodendron varieties), and possibly even a Hoya pubicalyx Splash (I'm not 100% sure since it has absolutely no leaves to ID with, but the growth tip and stem SCREAMS Hoya to me, I recall she does not have much material of that species to work with, and I was sure I smelled the distinct smell of Hoya sap while I was taking the cuttings out of the plastic bag).
I hope I have good luck with these guys, it feels weird to have new cuttings of unfamiliar houseplant species when I've felt I've been just hobbling back into more persistent houseplant care with several plant corpses under my belt as of recent. I'm especially happy about the snake plant, Scindapsus, and potential Hoya so I would really like them to thrive in this farmhouse.
Pothos plant types
Introduction: Pothos plants, with their lush foliage and easy-care nature, have become staples in indoor gardening. These versatile plants are not only admired for their aesthetic appeal but also for their ability to purify indoor air. While the classic golden pothos (Epipremnum aureum) is widely recognized, there are several other intriguing varieties that offer unique colors, patterns, and leaf shapes. Let's delve into the diverse world of pothos plant types and discover the beauty they bring to homes.
Golden Pothos (Epipremnum aureum): Golden pothos, also known as Devil's Ivy, is perhaps the most popular and recognizable variety. It features heart-shaped leaves with variegated patterns of green and yellow, adding a vibrant touch to any space. Golden pothos is prized for its air-purifying properties and its ability to thrive in low-light conditions, making it an ideal choice for beginners and experienced plant enthusiasts alike.
Marble Queen Pothos (Epipremnum aureum 'Marble Queen'): Marble Queen pothos is a stunning variation characterized by its creamy-white and green marbled foliage. This cultivar adds a touch of elegance and sophistication to indoor spaces. Like its golden counterpart, Marble Queen pothos is relatively low-maintenance and can tolerate a wide range of light conditions, though it thrives in bright, indirect light.
Neon Pothos (Epipremnum aureum 'Neon'): Neon pothos is prized for its strikingly vibrant, lime-green leaves that add a pop of color to any room. This cultivar tends to have smaller leaves compared to other varieties but compensates with its intense hue. Neon pothos plant types thrives in bright, indirect light and benefits from regular pruning to maintain its compact shape.
Jade Pothos (Epipremnum aureum 'Jade'): Jade pothos, also known as Green Pothos, features solid green leaves without variegation. While it may lack the striking patterns of other varieties, its rich green foliage exudes a sense of serenity and freshness. Jade pothos is highly adaptable and can tolerate low-light conditions, although it prefers moderate to bright indirect light for optimal growth.
Satin Pothos (Scindapsus pictus 'Exotica'): Although technically not a true pothos, Satin pothos is often grouped with pothos plants due to its similar growth habit and ease of care. It boasts heart-shaped leaves with silver-gray markings that shimmer in the light, giving it a satin-like appearance. Satin pothos thrives in bright, indirect light and appreciates regular watering to keep its soil evenly moist.
Conclusion: From the classic golden pothos to the eye-catching Marble Queen and vibrant Neon varieties, pothos plants offer an array of options to suit every taste and preference. Whether you're a seasoned plant enthusiast or just beginning your indoor gardening journey, there's a pothos plant types that's perfect for you. Embrace the beauty and versatility of these charming foliage plants, and enjoy the greenery they bring to your home environment.
Scindapsus pictus 'Exotica' is a gorgeous trailing plant. The heart shaped leaves are larger than the #Argyraeus variety and are more intensely variegated with shimmery silver. The leaves are #succulent and quite soft to the touch, as one might expect from a plant also known as #SatinPothos Another beautiful plant from Steve's Leaves Visit my shops https://www.etsy.com/shop/Kossitas https://goimagine.com/kossitasdreamcreations/ #plants #plantslover #plantpropagation #plantsofinstagram #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantsmakemehappy #kossitas #etsyshop #goimagine https://www.instagram.com/p/ChpYoqlO0fB/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
I did a little bathroom upgrade. For someone who spends a lot of time in the bathroom for medical reasons, I wanted to make sure I made it an as comfortable place as could be. After months of planning, calculating and waiting for the right moment... This was it. I also added a new member to the family, a Scindapsus Pictus Exotica. (Also know as a Satin Pothos, but it's not a Pothos, so we're going to act like I never said that.) This year, is the year of the upgrade. And this upgrade definitely has my approval. It like walking into a spa, but in my own bathroom. That's what I call self care. • #bathroomplants #scindapsus #scindapsuspictus #peperomia #peperomiascandens #satinpothos #satinpothosexotica #spabathroom #homespa #spahome #plantsathome #selfcare https://www.instagram.com/p/Cf5E5iXOp1t/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
