RHI!!!!! W&B was soooooo good! And totally worth the wait, I screamed when I saw the post! I loved the dynamic between kuroo and daishou. You wrote daishou’s suffering from exhaustion/dehydration so well I was thirsty reading it lool.

I have questions! Did reader know kuroo from before? I’m always curious whether it’s an obsession at first sight. How did kuroo kidnap/lure reader? How long did she put up a fight before caving?

so i talked about kuroo and the reader's meeting a little here and the kidnapping here. essentially they’re not exactly strangers, what with how he keeps trying to strike up conversation/flirt but a step above that. Maybe.

As for how long she was fighting, I wouldn’t say it was a constant thing by any means, but she was still resistant right up until Daishou’s brought into the picture. She tells him straight up ‘it’s my fault you’re here’ and she’s not entirely wrong. She pushed when she shouldn’t have, brought up daishou when she shouldn’t have and kuroo snapped :))

That jailbird semi idea is justttttt 👌. Latibule chapter 2!!! When I tell you I dropped everything to read it! You write kiyoomi so beautifully, hands down the best characterization I’ve seen of him yet! My mans has like 20 pages in the manga but you’ve crafted him in exactly what I imagined him to be. Reading this journey of him opening up and falling is just absolute perfection. I love their dates, I loved how he’s pushing his boundaries by doing what she likes, but bringing her back to the gym to experience his world. And just him battling with his issues, I love how blunt you wrote him. The pacing is perfect. Don’t even get me started on their kisses/make ours, I swooooned. How he’s planning for that deans gala even though she didn’t invite him yet, I’m actually gushing! Icannot say enough about this story and thank you so much for spreading your talents to the Haikyuu fandom(I adore your bnha fics). And hope you’re staying happy and healthy❤️

with Latibule i wanted to combine a character analysis with a love story so i’m thrilled Sakusa is coming across as “himself.”

yeah. cuz i kinda...well, you’ll see... 

Sakusa is a stoic dude, but one who has a ton of [ missed? ] potential. idk if Furudate had other plans for his high school team at nationals [ i mean, the entirety of Haikyuu!! is pretty much perfect as is - what with the themes of innate talent vs. perseverance, the importance of self care, love for your family, friends & teammates, and that all of us, no matter who we are, will experience defeat & that’s never the end of our story ] but they would have been such an interesting matchup for Karasuno! 

Itachiyama, to me, represents a culmination of what Karasuno has battled against in pieces throughout the entire series. most of the teams represented raw or unpredictable offensive power [ see: Shiratorizawa & Inarizaki ] or defensive prowess [ see: Nekoma, Date Tech & Kamomedai ] *side note: the only exception to this is Aoba Johsai, who, IMO, come close to what Itachiyama represents in terms of an all around power-house team- their loss to Karasuno was a mixture of pure bad luck & stress.  

but Itachiyama, from the glimpses we’ve seen, is a team that puts all of those pieces together. they have one of the top 3 aces in the nation [ Sakusa ] & the best high school libero, according to Volleyball Monthly [ Motoya ] on their team & they’re known for their attention to detail [ as we see with Sakusa & team captain Iizuna - who both demonstrate their commitment to followthrough & ‘doing things properly’ ] as well as their powerful use of both offense and defense. *side note: like, seriously, i don’t think any of their recorded games have gone into the 30 point mark, these guys SHUT IT DOWN around 25 points. 

while many teams in Haikyuu!! have players who can act as an assist on their shortcomings [ see: Tsukishima for Karasuno, Hoshiumi for Kamomedai, or Suna for Inarizaki ] they often focus on the opposite (weaker) points, i.e. Karasuno is known for their quick attack & rogue playing style, not their defense, so Tsukishima (grumpily) fills in that all important void. 

with Itachiyama & the way they were built up as the “shoe-in” champion for the 2013 nationals, it feels like they might have been able to successfully stopgap Karasuno’s erratic attacks & overwhelm them with their cautious, but decisive playing style. essentially, they look like they’d be a mix of Nekoma’s steady defense combined with the raw offensive power of Shiratorizawa - in other words, a wretched line up for Karasuno & a team that they would have undoubtedly struggled against. 

ahem. SO.

i am sorry this wandered into a strange realm, but long story short - i think that Sakusa was a major player who happened to be sidelined due to focus on other themes/plot-lines & i want to try and flesh out what i see/interpret in his character & bring that forward with Latibule. 

right now things are going smoothly, but that won’t always be the case [ i can only imagine the stress that both being & dating a professional athlete must come with ] and i hope i can keep his voice consistent & “true” as i continue on with this mini adventure.
