Hi. I’ve started a nuzlocke of Pokémon Platinum! Might post updates if they’re funny enough.

Current events:

My character is named “WHARF(male symbol)!” And my rival is “BOTE(male symbol)?”

Picked chimchar as my starter , named him Jester

Route 201 gave me a Bidoof named Sailboat

Accidentally ran from my starly in lake verity

Route 202 gave me a Shinx named Shiv

First trainer battle! Youngster Tristan with his lvl 5 starly

May I ask for some details about your Tav? What do you mean by hasnt really lived as a tiefling before? Like literally has never seen another tiefling? Seems like being abducted by the mindflayers introduced major life changes to your Tav

I'm sorry this took so long to answer, but I ended up doing a whole bunch of art to answer this!

Ember has a really extensive backstory that's kind of long, but the short version of it is: she was caught in the crossfire of a deal her parents made with a devil. They couldn't have a child of their own because her mother was too severely ill, so they made the deal in the hopes of returning her health and along with it the ability to bear children. Unfortunately devil deals being what they are, they ended up with Ember who the devil stole from her birth parents.

Her mom was a high elf and her dad a half-elf, and her mom's side of the family were quite vocally anti-Tiefling. Because of her mother's health problems, however, they couldn't just sever contact with her parents because they relied on their money to cover the cost of healers, expensive potion ingredients and the like. They couldn't be trusted not to be a threat to Ember though, so the decision was made to disguise her as their biological daughter throughout her childhood.

As a result, Ember didn't even know she was a Tiefling until she was around 4 or 5, when she began to present as a sorcerer and accidentally undid the disguise spell (she ends up a bard thanks to her mom, but her control of magic comes from sorcery).

Before the events of the game, the most time she ever spent as a Tiefling was when she was 13- when her mom died and her dad disappeared, the disguise spell having relied on her mum's magic. She went through hell for a while after that and as soon as she could learn how to cast the spell herself, she jumped at the chance and went back to living as her old half-elf self. So when she gets taken by the Nautiloid, it's her being forced to actually live as her real self and as a Tiefling for the first time. As a result she doesn't have great control over her tail, because she's just straight up not used to having one.

She also spends a lot of Act 1 jumpscaring herself whenever she walks by a mirror lmao.

I do plan to do some comics that are set earlier in the game at some point, and those ones will explore more of her backstory. What I've done so far has just happened to be set in Act 3, after she's already sorted a lot of her shit out. I just have no idea when that'll actually be!

(the slideshow was in my drafts for just the possibility of his retirement. a post game 7 thing. i made some edits.)

words can't really express what bergy meant to any of us. which is such a dramatic way to start saying this, but it's true. this is a hard hit. tough blow. one of the worst things we could have imagined for this offseason. but it's what happened, and we're going to make it through. pretty rich from someone who put dhmu on all my socials and meant it, but hey, i'm trying. it's pretty stupid how much he meant to us- how hard this is hitting us- really, but that's exactly what he deserved. he was a leader for the ages, being called a captain far before it was his time (rightfully so). he represented the black and gold with such poise and grace we shouldn't have even been able to dream it. the amount of people's lives he's changed- players he's inspired- his impact is immeasurable. the hell-bent kid i was- dying to develop my two-way skills- was thanks to one patrice bergeron-cleary, and that's something i can never and will never forget.

why does the mpreg thing spam you with whatever the flying fuck a sleep fairy is

(not hate i just keep seeing it on my dash and i dont understand)

I spent about an hour or so a few nights ago changing Sharky's nickname on the intern discord server to try and convince him to sleep, since it was around 6-7am at the time and he's just a wee little lad who needs his rest, and the bit kind of deteriorated when they asked who I was and I answered with "The sleep fairy." In my defence, I had been awake a solid 40-ish hours at the time.

He stayed up super late the next night, so I tried using the same bit to convince him to sleep. It... didn't work. This kid has a worse sleep schedule than me and I work nights. Very concerning.

And, perhaps, I may have messed with anyone else witnessing the phenomenon. It was funny, what can I say?

Ever since Sharky's been adamant that he's going to capture the sleep fairy. I'm not sure how I feel about this but he can fucking try.

Pretty much everyone know it's me despite the fact that I've been denying it. Unless Sharky really is oblivious, in which case... oops?

Essentially the "sleep fairy" is me attempting to gentle parent Sharky into practicing some semblance of self care. To disastrous results. I'm... not a very good parent, apparently.

Hi I’m doing the shiny oak challenge for let’s go Pokémon eevee because I watched johnstone’s video on it and thought it could be neat to try! I’ve never shiny hunted before so how hard could it be?

Hard. So so hard.

Let me recap the shinies I have so far

Start: nov 23

Did the wrong method and wasted like 2 hrs of goin in and out of a door way

Caught shiny bellsprout after 50 something catches

Tried to chain pidgey, failed, weedle, failed, pikachu, failed, rattata, failed

Around 11 or so on my second rattata chain I found a random shiny pidgey! Awesome!

Then comes another round of weedle. Oh weedle. My nemesis. I think I spent 3 or 4 days of just catching weedle.

Total weedle count was 370 but I had a few failed chains so it was closer to 400 something

I decide ok! I’ve got my weedle, fuck this I want bulbasaur now!

I head back to Viridian forest, catch the first bulbasaur I see ending my weedle chain.

I round the corner and low and behold. ANOTHER FUCKING SHINY WEEDLE! 1 MINUTE OF BEING IN THIS DUMB FOREST AND SHES JUST THERE!

3 days (6-8 ish hrs probably?) of my life spent just catching stupid amounts of weedle and when I’m not deliberately catching them one appears….

So in total I have:

Bellsprout which evolved into Weepinbell (2 to the Pokédex)

Pidgey which evolved to Pidgeotto which then evolved to Pidgeot (3 to the Pokédex)

And then the Weedle which evolved to Kakuna and then Beedrill (3 to the Pokédex)

That’s 8 out of I BELIEVE 24 and it only took me??? 11 something hours……

Now I’m on a chain of 100 pikachu, wish me luck!

i love shark week a lot! i love seeing my favorite animals having a week dedicated to them all across the world!

but sometimes i feel like they get bad publicity

they really only talk about how dangerous they are

now there are some amazing episodes that are based around actual research on them!

Like the one where they were trying to see if breaching was a way of communicating!

but i have noticed they some how have to bring up attacks and be like "these are monsters and killing machines" when in reality they are just not the brightest creature out there 😅

just kinda wish there were more episodes talking about their nature and how really they are just highly misunderstood

they are great creatures that deserve to be respected and not killed because people bother them in their home

Does Ember actually love Astarion or is he just a best friend? I was just curious! Haha

Oh, the answer is a big both! They're best friends, partners, soul mates, each other's Person. If they were shelter cats they'd be pair bonded and have to be adopted together. Whether they are or aren't romantically involved doesn't matter, they're each other's ride or die regardless.

But to be more specific, Astarion is Ember's 'canon' relationship, with Rolan being something of an AU that I just happened to end up doing a comic about first.

I'm not someone who likes to make multiple OCs to pair up with different characters, cause not only do I get too attached to one, I just overall find it a lot more fun to take a single character like Ember and play around with what would happen if she were to end up with someone different. See what changes or stays the same depending on the partner she ends up with.

But no matter what, she and Astarion end up a duo to at least some degree, even if it's just as partners in crime.
