Mr. Gregory Beaumaris, having recently inherited Ferncombe Hall and its income of §750 per year from a distant relation, and in need of companionship other than his unmarried sisters, his neighbors, and his friends in London, has determined that he ought to seek a bride spouse. The attached portrait shows his appearance; he is a proper gentleman, fond of horses and taking exercise, and enjoys playing the piano. (And, in his heart of hearts, a hopeless romantic.)

Ladies Sims of all types may apply, provided that they are Young Adult or Adult, unmarried, of good reputation (or clever enough to disguise such a flaw), and of suitable means and upbringing. The ladies' virtue and reputations will be guarded by his sisters, the eminently respectable widow, Lady Venetia Beaumaris Gracefield, and the equally respectable spinster, Miss Ursula Beaumaris. Gentlemen candidates, should they apply, shall be chaperoned by Mr. Beaumaris' valet. (Nonbinary candidates will have shared custody between the ladies and the valet.)

Interested would-be matchmakers are invited to reply to this post. Mr. Beaumaris regrets that he can only invite seven ladies Sims, who must arrive at Ferncombe Hall by January 31st. He hopes to find a suitable companion--if not true love--and is counting the days most ardently.

Please note that while the hostess has almost every slider in existence, she cannot be expected to put every article of CC ever designed in her computer; the ladies guests are encouraged to bring only the essentials, with links, when they are sent to her.

If they do not have appropriate (read: rococo) clothing for the climate of Ferncombe Hall, it will be provided to them upon arrival. If desired or needed, hairdressing will be done free of charge by Lady Venetia and Miss Ursula's tiring-women and Mr. Beaumaris' valet. Sims with textured hair shall have visits from specialized stylists OR the hostess shall retexture hairs for them as desired.

Gabrielle is an earnest bookworm who loves spending time in the library reading or musing about anything and everything. Her friends consider her to be elegant, sophisticated, and thoughtful. However, some people say her contemplative demeanor can come across as cold and standoffish. Deep down, Gabrielle is just a hopeless romantic who longs for that special someone to create her perfect family with.

Just wanted to say that I've never done a historical challenge and certainly don't own any historical cc (except Asian, that is). So, I spent at least half the day cc hunting, clicking link after link and man was that painful!! However, it was super fun creating Gabrielle and I can't wait to see how things progress (or not...). Clothing, makeup, poses, and decor aren't all that accurate and I have taken a lot of liberties here and there, but I did my best with what I had!

Clementine Confetti’s Bachelorette Challenge

Requirements:

All sims must be YA males.

Humans preferred.

Solid colored berry sims only, please! Clementine is an heir in my Confetti legacy, so I need a solid color berry to join her for her generation. (:

Please don’t use colors I’ve played in this legacy so far. This means no white, pink, yellow or orange. Every other shade of every other color is free game! (Perhaps some cool colors to change things up? Warm colors like red, salmon, peach, etc. of course are all still allowed - just none of the colors I’ve played!)

Any traits are allowed. Do whatever you’d like! (Within reason, of course.)

CC is allowed, just don’t go overboard. Hair, makeup, etc. is all cool, but I’d love if every one of their outfits wasn’t custom - you get what I mean.

I have all EPs, but no SPs.

I use primarily Fawkes, Scattergenes and Berry Pie.

I prefer @chazybazzy retextures, but this is not a deal breaker for me.

No sliders please!

Make sure to set all your sim’s outfits!

Maeve’s Bachelorette Challenge

It’s that time of year again! (wait, am I planning on doing one every summer now?) Yet another one of my sims is looking for a partner, and she’s doing so through a special show.

You can learn more about Maeve here.

Requirements:

YA sims, any gender; human or vampire.

Vanilla or banilla.

Give your sim at least one negative trait.

Do NOT use the Irresistible trait. In the past, I’ve noticed that sims with that trait distracted everyone from interacting with the bachelors and I feel like not talking to the bachelor/ette kinda defeats the point of a BC, so.

Keep the CC minimal. Please, don’t use CC clothes or nondefault skin colours.

No sliders.

Please, set all outfits for your sim.

I have all EPs and most SPs (all except for the Katy Perry one, Fast Lane and the movie one, iirc), so you can use stuff from all these packs. Although this is tied to my lepacy, I’ll play the BC with all my packs.

Introduce your sim, but it doesn’t have to be anything long or complicated. Take it easy. 😊 (or not, if that’s more your style)

Mavis is into everything artsy and outdoorsy. If you can’t find her, check the mountains, hiking trails, or ocean as she is probably sketching nature’s gorgeous scenery. Though she loves being outside, she does have a preference for warmer, sunnier days. Mavis is very organizational, neat, and tidy. She prefers her things in order, no clutter, and no messes. She does have a tendency to be a grump, especially if she is stuck inside for days or spends too long in a messy room. Mavis’s dream job would be a natural science illustrator for books or journals. Traits and Aspiration: Overachiever, socially awkward, Gloomy, & Country caretaker

◊ Young Maxwell was the promising Golden star of Henford-on-Bagley as he entered the boxing world at the early age of 13. Everyone put their faith in him. In principle, these expectations bloated his ego, making all his family proud and offering the lonely and only child of the Santiago family a chance to be somebody. He was no longer the good-for-nothing kid in class. Nor the town's dwarf (small and hairy) boy. 

◊ The accidental display of strength working on the family farm seen by a headhunter could be helpful in the real world outside shearing llamas, carrying water buckets, and chasing and dodging foxes.

◊ Despite this good fortune for re-establishing those labels, Maxwell still found himself taking care of the farm animals late at night rather than socializing with other boxing enthusiasts after practice. 

◊ Inadvertently, he found his real passion.

◊ The years went on and all the awards started losing their luster. Championships mattered less and less, and even though Maxwell was one of the best, he walked away from the boxing world and still denies he was in his prime when he left.

«I could have lost any time, I left with my record unbeaten. Thirty wins, two ties, and no losses. My pride would have been severely damaged» answers whenever asked.

◊ But that smirk at the corner of his mouth tells a different story. 

◊ He bought himself a lot and cultivated a beautiful farm. Around his 30s, in the middle of his meditations, watching little ducks follow their mama, the image of having his own family struck him.

◊ Much like his farm, he managed to raise his son by himself, even if it was after long battles with the adoption center. But he passed away at the age of 10: A strange and unexpected case of pufferfish poison. Maxwell, of course, put the blame on his shoulders.

◊ Now, the rooster's cry, a glass of sheep's milk, and listening to the news on his pop’s radio have calmed his mind a little. At 49, Santiago's life is good and he is at peace… most of the time.

◊ He heard the announcement of Kiss Me in Mt. Komorebi on the radio. Putting his heart out there again, risking it to be hurt is way scarier than standing in the ring with the gloves up. 

◊ Despite his trembling hands, he filled out the form and submitted his application.

Right... so... I lied. XD I wanted to try out the search features. And also show off the 'before' pics before I deconstruct this lot and make it more suitable for my friend's game. ^^ I found it on TSR--it had a ton of CC I didn't want in there, so I took that all out before installing. She likes 'beach-themed' lots, so this will be the other half to the wedding venue I made her. :D Now onto the 'search' features.. I love it so far! So, I went easy on the testing, typing in 'towel'. It brought up a few objects, as you can see... not all of which are towels. However, towel is in their description! That's all the testing I'll do for now, I kind of want to focus on finishing one of my writings for another friend of mine, and work on this lot for my friend--plus I have two Sims to give her as well that I haven't finished up yet. :/ But honestly--I love this! It does make me want to go in and change everything in my Sims' build/buy folders though. >___. I separate my Sims conversions into folders and merge them that way, so.... I have a lot. Am I that dedicated and organized? Ehhhhhh..... I am a Capricorn. Organized and procrastinator. XD It's a coin toss at that point. Oh yes, you can also see from the pic I've already started remodelling the pool tiles to a much bluer colour. Pretty! I wish we could have coloured water in TS3.

We’re officially here with another BC! Hopefully now that we’ve got one BC under our belts already, we’ll be able to run things a little more smoothly around here. So, Clementine, tell us about yourself! Remember, everyone reading this hasn’t met you yet - since they haven’t even seen your parent being born yet.

Clementine: Tell them about myself? I thought you’d never ask! Well, for starters, my name is Clementine Confetti. I’d consider myself to be a jack of all trades kind of girl & I love to have a good time trying loads of new kinds of things. My main interests include social media & pop culture, mostly, & one day I’d love to be famous. Maybe I’d be an actor? I dunno, I just wanna be an it-girl. I think I’ve got what it takes.

Well, alrighty then! Besides wanting to be famous, why are you here?

Clementine: I’m mostly here to just put myself out there. Hopefully I’ll gain some more attention on my blog & really get my engagements up. It’s mostly a networking thing - to get my face on TV & such so that maybe I could do some other shows someday, you know? &, I mean, maybe a smaaaall part of me is here because I really do want to fall in love like in all the movies.… so, maybe it’s not such a small part of me that’s looking for love, after all? Maybe I just haven’t found the right guy to be seen on the covers of magazines with yet. It’s a very important decision to make as an up-and-coming star, you know!

“We are back today to kick off another BC, and this time, our main star will be Maeve! Can you introduce yourself to the audience, Maeve? They’re in the past, they don’t even know your father yet.”

Maeve: “Wow, they’re not missing out on much if they don’t know my dad. Anyway, my name is Maeve Fleur, I’m a vampire, I use she/her pronouns and I’m looking for a partner in love and perhaps in crime.”

“I thought you and Sawyer were on good terms, what happened?”

Maeve: “Well, yeah, sort of, but I haven’t talked to him in months, and if the stories are true...look, I’m evil too, I will admit that, but you have to draw the line somewhere. Some things are simply too evil.”

“It says right here that you’re an unflirty sim, but the people really wanted you to have a BC, and so here we are. How does that make you feel?”

Maeve: “Yeah, I was a bit shocked. It’s kinda mean when you think about it. But thank you.”

“Is that where you draw the line at evil things?”

Maeve: *laughs* “No, no. I think we can make it work. I’m not really the type for shallow flirting, I don’t particularly enjoy that, I’m looking for a deeper connection. I’m sure I can still find that here on this show. I wouldn’t be the first in this family who was that lucky. And if I don’t succeed...I think it’s going to be a great time. And it’s always good to make connections.”

“Sure! So, can you tell us more about yourself?”

Maeve: “What would you like to know?”

“Your hobbies...which sibling is your favourite, maybe? Who’s your other parent besides Sawyer? Anything.”

Maeve: “Watcher, you yourself know that I have no idea who my ‘other parent’ is. You prevented me from knowing! But they must’ve been very good looking, and they must’ve had great hair. What else did you wanna know...oh, favourite sibling. That would be Helena of course. Archer and I disagree on a lot of things, like vampirism, and I never really got close with my three younger siblings. Half-siblings. And as for my hobbies, there’s nothing too special. I do a little bit of painting, I like going to gym...and I’m really interested in political history, which probably isn’t surprising at all considering I want to be a politican one day, but don’t worry, I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, I promise I will not bore you to death on our first date, whoever is watching this and thinking of applying.”

“What about children? Would you like to have children someday?”

Maeve: “No idea. I’m not really a kids person, but I’m also not completely against becoming a parent in the future. I’d never want my own big chaotic family like the one I grew up in though. I love my family, but I’ve had enough of that, sorry guys. Next question.”

“You mentioned vampirism. What if the winner of your BC is a human, would you turn them?”

Maeve: “Only if they want me to.”

“Sounds good to me. Oh, important question. You’re a vampire. How are you dealing with sunlight?”

If you just want to use me to become a vampire or get famous...I think we’ll figure it out early on, but go for it. Seriously, anyone can join.”

It's been officially longer than a year since I last posted gameplay pics...

For the most part of 2022, I couldn't play The Sims because I shared a computer and we couldn't agree on it. Then I played it for like, 2 months (in 2023!) on my bf's computer, but I couldn't take any screenshots 😭 And now, since October of 2023, I've been in England working as a volunteer, with no access to a personal computer. My friend was kind enough to lend me his laptop a few weeks ago so that I could finally play a bit, but it's not ideal because, well, it's his, and he needs it for work outside of the volunteering. I might be able to get my hands on a new laptop soon though (!!!!!!), and I'm really excited about finally being able to remove the "hiatus" from my bio! Or at least replace it with "semi hiatus", you know lol

I obviously won't be able to even remember what's gone on in my households, but at least I'll be back to playing once every few weeks and documenting my stuff. If everything works out, I should be here in one or two weeks, posting unedited screenshots of my game, like I used to, and getting 2 to 5 likes on each post <3 Just how I like it!
