Every further meter you passed by car, your nervousness increased. Your hands were sweaty and you suppressed the need to wipe them on your expensive dress, so you just nervously clasped them together. A side glance at the other men showed you that they seemed to feel the other way around. Their excited conversations filled the car and, contrary to your thoughts, they didn’t say a word about the upcoming ball; and anything that might go wrong. You didn’t want to ruin your evening with negative thoughts – because who knew when you would get the next opportunity to go to such a big, boisterous event?
Still, the queasy feeling remained that something had to go wrong.
However, it wasn’t just David you were thinking about and who had shown you each time that he would show up exactly when it was most inconvenient. No, part of your nervousness was also that you had to engage in small talk with countless strangers in a few minutes. Apart from Jung-hee and Chin Ho and a few other somewhat familiar faces you had met in the corridor during your few visits to the company, you knew no one. For a brief moment you were reminded of situations from a few years ago when you were at a party where you only knew the host. And to be honest, you were also a bit worried if some of the guests would give you strange looks if they saw you with seven men. This thought hurt, and you pushed it back where it could gather dust in peace.
All further thoughts were interrupted by the view when you turned a corner with the car and headed straight for the building. Big spotlights shone on the huge building and immediately caught your attention. A long driveway led to the entrance of the building, which could be reached by a wide, long staircase. Hoseok slowed the car down and greeted a security guard standing at the secured gate to greet the guests. The interaction was brief, so a moment later you moved closer to the building. You looked out the window past Taehyung and your jaw almost dropped as you saw security standing every few feet, dressed in unobtrusive yet elegant black. It would be almost impossible to enter the compound without authorization.
Taehyung seemed to notice the change in your mood, and you saw from the corner of your eye how he gave you his typical boxy grin. Your hand found his, and he squeezed it once, as if to confirm that you had been worried for nothing. For a moment you lost yourself in the shadow plays that took place on his profile as his face was illuminated by the countless fairy lights and lamps that were installed in the trees that enclosed the driveway.
Hoseok stopped right in front of the grand staircase, and he hadn’t even turned off the engine when already an employee was standing next to the driver’s side with a friendly smile on his face, ready to take the keys and park the car. Jungkook and Taehyung both helped you out of the car and you were more than happy with the two arms you could hold on to. It had been months since you had worn high heels, so you had to get used to the extra centimeters of height and the unsteady walk. The men from the other car also gathered around you and immediately you became a little calmer. For a brief suspicious moment, your eyes fell on Yoongi. But he looked at the building in front of you and let his gaze glide over the few people who also made their way to the entrance. Music came towards you as you started to climb the stairs, as well as laughter and countless voices that were talking loudly. Apparently the people here were already having a good time, even though the ball had just started.
You felt someone looking at you and turned your head to the side, where your gaze directly met Namjoon’s. With a dimpled smile, he reached out his hand to you, which you accepted with thanks. The warmth he radiated and his large, pleasantly rough hands immediately filled you with a sense of comfort. You knew that you would survive this evening with the seven men at your side. And maybe, just maybe, you would even have some fun.
As you entered the building through the wide entrance, the volume nearly doubled and immediately the uneasy feeling came back. What would the other guests think about you? Were some disappointed when they saw you because they had imagined someone better? With these thoughts, you subconsciously hid behind Namjoon’s broad stature. Confused, he looked down at you over his shoulder. He let go of your hand only to wrap his around your hips and press you firmly to his side.
“Don’t go away, baby,” he said and pressed a kiss on your temple. As his full lips touched your skin, you pressed yourself a little further into his body. “You don’t have to hide. Not at all.”
You nodded as you continued to lean your head slightly against his shoulder, absorbing the surroundings around you. The building was relatively old; thick sandstone columns stood at the edge of the huge main room and supported the ceiling. Various lights hung from the meter-high ceilings, which illuminated the room in a pleasant, warm and soft light. On both sides there were different possibilities to sit and stand and you watched waiters and waitresses as they whizzed through the crowds of people offering trays of drinks and small appetizers. The center of the room was used as a dance floor and already countless people were dancing to the live music played by a DJ on a small elevated stage at the end of the dance floor.
“Wow,” you whispered and Namjoon’s chest bounced slightly as he laughed softly.
“You like it?”
You could only nod and let your gaze wander over the other guests, who were dressed just as fancy as you were, and were chatting animatedly in small groups. You had to look twice to be able to distinguish the security guards from the guests – only the inconspicuous and almost unnoticeable in-ear headphones, over which they were probably coordinating with the others, gave them away. Your gaze met that of the security guard, whom you had probably been watching for a second too long, and he nodded slightly at you. So slightly that when you looked away you wondered if he had really nodded at you. As you searched the room further, you discovered more and more of them. You didn’t count, but in every corner, on every side, as well as in the middle of the room… actually every few meters there was a security guard who did not let you out of their sight. Even from a distance, you could see how they moved their lips slightly and communicated with each other when they saw that you had arrived.
But your attention was suddenly captured by a small petite woman who appeared before you. A smile spread across your face as you recognized Jung-hee.
“Ahh, Y/N!” She greeted you with a radiant smile. She spread out her arms and pulled you into her embrace, just like at your last encounter. Again you were surprised how much strength she had, especially at her age, when her arms were pressing strongly against your back. When she let go of you, she looked down at you once. “Well, if you’re not an eye-catcher,” she remarked with a wink before she greeted the men with a small bow.
“Everything quiet so far?” Namjoon asked, who had detached himself from you. Jung-hee nodded before the two stepped out of your field of hearing. But immediately, a new arm had wrapped around your waist.
“Do you want something to drink?” Jin asked and barely waited for your answer when he had already taken two glasses from the tray of a waiter who had just passed you. He held out one of the glasses with the clear, presumably alcoholic, drink to you. That probably wasn’t such a bad idea – you would be lying if you said that you didn’t feel any looks on you. When you put the glass to your lips and the drink burned down your throat with a careful sip, you caught the occasional guest of the ball who quickly turned their gaze away from you as soon as your eyes met.
Suddenly you felt a hand on your other side as well. Yoongi let his thumb move in circles on your hip without turning his gaze towards you “Everything okay?” he asked, and at his question, Jin turned his head towards you.
“The looks make me a little nervous,” you honestly admitted, and when you put the glass to your lips, you realized that your drink was already empty.
“They only look at you because you look stunning,” Yoongi explained and took the empty glass from you.
“Still, they should hold back a bit with their glances,” said Jin, and you heard for the first time how his voice no longer sounded joyful and exuberant but almost chilly. “They should know that Y/N is here with us.”
The corners of your mouth twitched slightly upwards. “Is someone jealous?” you teased him and let your hand slide over his side.
He looked down at you, a sparkle in his eyes, as he answered you without batting an eyelid: “I don’t need to be jealous. I know that you belong to us and we belong to you.”
“Or maybe just because you have a little too much self-confidence,” Yoongi returned dryly. “By the way, some people also call that arrogance. Maybe you should look it up in the dictionary.”
“Yoongi-ah,” Jin whined over your head towards the younger one. “Don’t undermine my authority.”
“What authority?” you gave back and Yoongi snickered next to you.
“That’s my girl,” he said and pressed you closer to his side.
You watched as the other men had already spread out and made casual small talk with various small groups of people. You didn’t know how many employees knew about David – and the problems he was causing – but tonight nobody seemed to bother. Jin and Yoongi also left you after a while when you endured the first, somewhat awkward conversations. As nervous as you had been at first, you were relieved now. So far, everyone had welcomed you with a certain curiosity, almost nervousness, but never with resentment. That Yoongi had been standing next to you was probably more a tactic than a coincidence. But you were grateful for his emotional support.
Jungkook was the only one who still stood next to you and let his gaze glide over the guests incessantly. You wondered if he was looking for someone or was securing the situation. Sometimes you wondered if the seven ever really came to rest or were always on call.
“Hey,” you said softly and grabbed his hand to get his attention. Immediately his head rushed to you and he gave you a smile, which didn’t quite reach his eyes. “Are you okay?”
He nodded, a little too quickly and a little too enthusiastically. So you raised one eyebrow and he dropped his smile with a sigh. “I’m just not a fan of large gatherings,” he told you, and now you raised both eyebrows in surprise.
“Why not? They’re all your employees, you don’t have to be nervous.”
He shrugged his shoulders and you felt his grip around your hand tighten a little. “Many people in one place make me nervous. I quickly loose track and I don’t like that.”
You bridged the last distance between you and threw him a hopefully encouraging smile. “I’m here with you, so there’s no need to be nervous.”
He returned your smile and this time you could see that it was real when you saw the little wrinkles around his eyes. He put his free hand on your hip and pulled you towards him. “Thank you,” he murmured into your hair and pressed a kiss on your head. His voice was almost drowned out by the music and the other guests.
“Hey you two,” you suddenly heard a voice next to you and you and Jungkook flinched. You broke away from each other and you looked to the side, only to see Chin Ho, who looked at you apologetically. “I didn’t want to disturb you,” he apologized for his interruption. “I just wanted to check if Y/N was okay.”
“Oh,” Jungkook said quietly, and your gaze fell on his lower lip, which he bit as if holding back the rest of the sentence. Without paying any further attention to Chin Ho, he turned his gaze back to the crowd.
You looked at Jungkook a moment longer before smiling gratefully at Chin Ho. His eyes flitted nervously back and forth between the two of you and he seemed to realize that now was not the perfect time to ask you about your well-being. “I am fine, Chin Ho. Thanks for asking.”
He dismissed your thanks with a wave of his hand. “I think you’re forgetting that this is my job,” he laughed and as he shook his head, smiling, a few strands of dark hair came loose from his bun. When he looked up again, his eyes glowed. “But it’s good to see that you’re handling it so well. That was some pretty rough stuff that David pulled at the mall.”
Not a minute, hell, not even a second went by that you weren’t reminded of the man. As if he was lurking in the shadows, waiting for you to take a step too far away from the light, only to pull you towards him in the darkness. You tried not to hold it against Chin Ho. As he had rightly said, that was his job. Probably he too was constantly thinking of David and how he could guarantee your safety. But you just wanted a relaxed evening without thinking about David. Was that too much to ask?
Apparently it was.
“Well,” Chin Ho said after a brief uncomfortable silence when you didn’t answer, “I just wanted to ask how you were doing. But I am reassured. Then have a nice evening, maybe we’ll run into each other again,” he said goodbye with a short wave and went to the next group of people with whom he immediately had an animated conversation. You were a bit jealous that it was so easy for him to have conversations with other people. On the other hand, he worked with these people and probably saw them daily. Not like you, for whom all those people were strangers.
You heard Jungkook laughing next to you and when you turned your head towards him, you saw how he shook his head with a grin.
“What?” you asked with a little smile on your lips.
“I guess it’s already time,” he just said and nodded his chin in one direction. You followed his gaze and almost had to laugh out loud as you saw none other than Hoseok, Jin and Taehyung on the dance floor, throwing their arms in the air. A circle had formed around them with people watching the three and laughing as well. Your highlight was definitely Jin, who apparently didn’t care a bit about what others thought of him as he circled his hips.
Still with a smile on your lips, your eyes fell on Hoseok and looked directly into his eyes. Even from a distance, you saw a diabolical grin spread on his lips before he said something to Taehyung. A moment later, he came up to you and Jungkook. You knew what he was going to do even before he started walking and you tried to pull Jungkook with you, as long as it was away from Hoseok. But Jungkook laughed and he seemed like a block of immobile cement – he didn’t move an inch.
“Sorry, Y/N, but there is no escape,” he said, clasping your hand tighter as you tried to get away from him.
“I need alcohol to do this,” you mumbled as you realized that there would be no way out of the situation and kept a lookout for a waiter. You briefly raised your hand when you saw one a few meters away from you and he immediately rushed to you. “Thanks,” you said without really looking at him and reached for a full glass.
“Oh dear,” Jungkook murmured next to you as the waiter had disappeared and you looked at him angrily.
“You have nothing to say here, Jeon Jungkook. You won’t let me go, you’re lucky I don’t drag you along.”
Jungkook smiled at you as you said that. “Who said I’m staying here?” Then he pulled you forward and walked towards Hoseok who was still striding towards you. Hoseok grabbed your free arm and pulled you onto the dance floor. His grip made it difficult to take a sip of the drink, but you almost sighed as you felt the soothing burning in your throat and the light haze spreading in your head.
Jin and Taehyung cheered loudly when they saw you, and when your eyes fell on Taehyung, you were reminded of the night you two first met. There, too, you had preferred to wait at the bar instead of going dancing with Alison and giving David the opportunity to…
Okay – stop.
You paused when you noticed in which direction your thoughts were going. You would have fun today no matter what happened. If something bad would happen in the next few hours, at least you would use the time now to let go of the stress and tension of the last weeks and months. And you would do all this right now, in the middle of the dance floor, surrounded by hundreds of guests.
You poured the measly remaining content of your drink down your throat and pressed the empty glass into Jungkook’s hand. He looked at you amused and Taehyung whispered something in his ear, which made the younger one smile. Before you could ask what was so funny, Hoseok took your hand and raised your intertwined fingers in the air. You had to laugh as you turned around yourself when he asked you to, and you heard him join in your laughter over the loud music.
He put both hands on your hips and with a short jerk pulled you tightly to his chest. You pressed your palms against his hard chest and when you looked up at him, your cheeks were burning. Whether it was the sudden proximity to Hoseok or the alcohol that had finally entered your bloodstream, you didn’t know. Hoseok guided you into a slow rhythm with his hands, rocking you gently from side to side. As you turned your head to the side, you saw how Jungkook and Jin were no longer standing next to you, but had disappeared into the crowd. As you turned to the other side to look at Taehyung, you suddenly felt another pair of hands on your hips.
“Are you looking for me?” Taehyung whispered and his hot breath on your ear made you shiver. You felt his soft lips curl into a knowing grin before he nibbled on your earlobe a second later. Surprised, you sucked in the air and buried your hands in Hoseoks hair. You didn’t notice his gasp, all your attention was on Taehyung’s teeth and lips. “Still as sensitive as I remembered. It’s been far too long since the last time.”
You dropped your head backwards on his shoulder, closed your eyes and nodded. How right he was. The intense kisses from Namjoon just before you left for the ball had left you hot and ready. Before you knew it, a soft moan had fallen over your lips.
“Fuck, baby,” you heard Hoseok say, who seemed to be just inches away from you with his face. “We haven’t even started yet.” You heard the grin in his voice and when you opened your eyes again to glare at him, the next song began. Out of the corner of your eye you saw the crowd rush onto the dance floor and devour you three in anonymity. The slightly dimmed light and the many people around you made you both braver and more nervous. You blurred in the crowd, but at the same time there was a chance that more pairs of eyes were on you.
The two men didn’t seem to mind, though.
Hoseok’s grip around your hips tightened and he pulled you even closer against his chest, so that your faces almost met. The desire in your abdomen grew from second to second and you didn’t waste a second more pressing your lips against his. Taehyung murmured something incomprehensible behind you and pressed himself harder against your back. You gasped as you felt his erection on your ass and Hoseok took the opportunity to let his tongue slide into your open mouth which he explored extensively.
Meanwhile, Taehyung embraced the middle of your body and locked you tightly between his and Hoseok’s bodies. You felt a leg pushing between your feet and interrupted the intense kiss with Hoseok to look between your two bodies. Hoseok reached under your chin with one finger and focused your attention on him again.
“Wanna have some fun?” he asked and you were only able to understand him over the loud music because he was not even five inches away from you. His grin spoke volumes about what he meant by fun and excitement spread between your legs as your thoughts drifted to various scenarios.
You nodded and the two men immediately understood. Hoseok led you with his firm grip into a steady rhythm to the music and pushed you down slightly. Your core slid over his thigh in a slow, intense movement and you bit your lower lip painfully to suppress the moan. You were sure that at least those around you would have heard you moaning. You felt Taehyung’s fingers loosen from the middle of your body as he let one hand slide down your side instead. For a brief moment you paused in your movement as you felt his long fingers against your naked skin on your thigh, at the point where the slit in your dress began.
“Does it turn you on that people can watch us do this?” Taehyung whispered into your ear from behind you and let his fingers slide under your dress before he grabbed your thigh. His fingertips stroked the inside of your thigh and you felt like you were going to pass out at any moment, so quickly the blood shot into your abdomen. Your clit was almost throbbing, as were your inner walls, which contracted around nothing. Hoseok helped you get back into your rhythm and this time you couldn’t suppress the broken, soft moans when you felt Hoseok’s muscular leg against your core. You pulled him closer, wrapped your arms around his neck again and put your head on his shoulder. You had the feeling you needed that support, otherwise your legs would give way under you any moment, that’s how shaky you felt. Besides, this way the view of you would be somewhat obscured by Hoseok’s body.
“Good girl,” Hoseok whispered in your ear. You buried your face in his shoulder, which muffled your sounds as he moved your hips back and forth over and over again across his thigh.
“Is that appropriate for a ball like this?” you asked, your voice already rough from arousal.
But Hoseok laughed. “What should they do? Fire us?” With this statement, Hoseok stopped moving even though his grip did not loosen. Instead, you felt Taehyung’s fingers, which had not moved any further before and had only gripped your thigh tightly. Now, however, he started to let his hand slowly move further up. The slit of the dress was high, almost a bit too obtrusive, so Taehyung didn’t need much before he arrived at your thong. The thong that uncomfortably stuck to you because you were so wet.
“Shall we give Namjoon a little show?” Taehyung asked and confused, you turned your head to the side. Your blood almost froze in your veins as your gaze fell directly on the young man leaning relaxed against the bar counter. But even from a distance, you saw that this was just a masquerade. His fingers almost clawed into the glass, so tightly he had enclosed it. The look with which he looked back at you almost pierced through you, and you could see from here how he pressed his jaws tightly together. He almost looked angry.
“Is this a good idea?” you therefore asked. You didn’t want to upset Namjoon. What if he cared about your reputation? Most people here you met for the first time and you were not sure if it would be a good first impression if they saw you like this. And also all the people you knew… Jung-hee, Chin Ho – what if they saw you? Would they say anything? Or would they just look away quickly? Your stream of thoughts was interrupted by Hoseok, who stroked your side with his thumb.
“Trust me, baby, Namjoon is enjoying the show. Even though he doesn’t look like it.”
“So he’s not mad because someone might be watching us?” you asked, and your voice sounded muffled as you buried your head in Hoseok’s shoulder again because you couldn’t stand Namjoon’s gaze any longer.
It was Taehyung this time who laughed softly behind you and gave you a kiss on the back of the head. “Mad? He probably has to pull himself together not to come here and do it himself. He probably wants to show everyone that you are ours and show them things, do things with you, that they can never do with you.”
“Oh God,” you mumbled and wanted to squeeze your legs together to get some friction on your clit. But Hoseok’s leg was still between yours and Taehyung also clicked his tongue and pushed your legs further apart.
“Suddenly you can’t wait anymore, can you?” Taehyung asked, bringing his fingers into direct contact with your clothed opening. You gripped Hoseok’s shoulders tighter while a soft whimpering came over your lips. “What was that, Jagi?”
His slender fingers pushed your thong to the side and glided over your labia as they spread your moisture. Your eyes fell on Namjoon. You wanted to know if he was watching you and if Hoseok and Taehyung were right. When you saw how his gaze was firmly focused on the middle of your body, eyes slightly narrowed, you knew that they might have even underestimated him. And this thought, this certainty, unleashed something in you that you had never experienced before. At least not with this intensity.
You waited until he lifted his gaze, before you smiled at him from a distance. It was a light, almost shy smile while you still had your head on Hoseok’s shoulder. Then you released one arm and let it fall down and Namjoon followed the movement with a blank face. Then you also reached through the slit under your dress and grabbed Taehyung’s wrist. He wanted to pull his hand back, misinterpreted your grip at first, but you pressed it tighter between your legs. Taehyung moaned softly as he pressed a finger closer to your opening. You were sure that Namjoon saw at least something. Two hands under your dress made the slit reveal even more than it already did, and the dancing people around you showed him a glimpse of you every now and then.
“You’re enjoying this a little more than I thought, baby,” Hoseok noticed and let his fingertips slide across your back. You shivered, and at the same time Taehyung let his finger slip into you. Your eyes fluttered shut and your mouth opened in a choked moan, while all your concentration lay on Taehyung’s long finger that pushed deeper and deeper into you. As you felt his knuckles between your legs, he began to curl his finger inside you and pressed it against the slightly rough part of you.
“Tae,” a surprised moan slipped away from you and Taehyung took this as an incentive to let his finger slip out of you again. You managed to open your eyes again to look at Namjoon. He had placed his glass behind him on the counter while his gaze was still firmly fixed on you. When he made sure that you were looking at him, he briefly palmed himself. The movement was short and quick, so probably no one but you had noticed it. Outsiders might think he only had to adjust himself.
But you knew better. You saw the short grin that appeared on his lips before your eyes fell close again as Taehyung penetrated you with his finger again.
“If we had known that this would turn you on so much when someone was watching you, Jimin would certainly not have sent us away last time,” Hoseok said.
“That’s good to know, isn’t it, Hyung?” Taehyung’s voice sounded strained as he moved his finger in you faster. His palm pressed gently on your clit and you felt Taehyung pushing your arousal out of you with every thrust of his fingers. Just the thought of your moisture dripping down his fingers caused your inner walls to contract. Immediately, you felt Taehyung’s fingers even more intensely rubbing you from within.
“Please let me come, Tae,” you asked and pressed him harder into you with a strong grip around his wrist.
“I think Namjoon will get angry if he isn’t the one,” Hoseok remarked, and you were already complaining when you suddenly felt a hand on your shoulder. Your eyes sprang open and Namjoon stood in front of you. Taehyung’s finger inside you stopped moving and you let go of his wrist. Now that he was standing right in front of you, you could see his pupils dilated and the few drops of sweat that had formed on his forehead.
“You’re absolutely right,” he said and his voice sounded even deeper than usual. Taehyung’s finger slipped out of you and you whimpered softly as you suddenly felt empty. Namjoon grabbed your hand which was just hanging lifelessly next to you and Hoseok and Taehyung took this as a signal to let you go.
“Should we let Jin know?” Hoseok asked and Namjoon nodded. Immediately, another wave of nervousness and excitement came over you.
“Send him to the back in half an hour. Not earlier.” And with these words, he grabbed your hand and pulled you off the dance floor.

I’m really sorry to end this chapter at this point! But the chapter is already quite long (it would have been over 10k if I wouldn’t have split it here). But I promise to post the next chapter sooner as this one, so you won’t have to wait as long!
As always, every comment, reblog or ask means a lot to me! I’m actually kind of sad seeing that every new chapter of this story decreases in notes. I mean, I get it – it’s a long story and everything, but still... it makes me questioning whether I should use the little time I have for writing for other projects. But on the other hand I’m pretty sure there are only around ten chapters more to come. Ah, I don’t know what to do. Anyway, I hope you’re having a great week and are staying healthy! See you soon! 💜

MLQC Season 2 Chapter 15 (Kiro’s Chapter) Part 4 [Double Courage] & [New Game] Translation [CN]
***SPOILERS*** DO NOT READ IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE SPOILED!!!
I decided to combine 2 parts into one post since 15-5 was short. Enjoy~
For the previous translation of Chapter 15: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3.
[Double Courage]
Tumblr media
There was no sound of footsteps coming and going outside the door and I was the only one left in the empty utility room.
I know he is still outside. Looking at the closed door, I slowly stepped forward and lifted my head.
It suddenly occurred to me, when I first arrived at the hospital after hearing that Kiro had an accident.
At that time, he was also on the other side, refusing me.
I turned around, leaned against the door, and sat down. Soon, the sound of footsteps quietly leaving came to my ears.
I have to admit, I really can’t help him. I am not strong enough to make him feel more at ease.
People need to accept their own weaknesses and limitations in order to think about what they can do from their own perspective.
The whole space is quiet and my heart is surprisingly calm.
I closed my eyes and replayed all the scenes of my time with Kiro over and over again in my mind.
If I were Kiro, why would I need to use another identity while insisting on solving the problem alone?
If I was admitted to the hospital and refused to see anyone, it must be because there is a serious illness and I don’t know how to deal with others.
And I act alone because it may be dangerous and I don’t want to be dragged down by others or….
Tumblr media
MC: Drag others down with me.
My brain is spinning so fast. I always feel that there is something that has constantly plagued me and I have come to a conclusion.
MC:…Kiro’s illness has not been cured?
So everything makes sense now.
From beginning to end, he never said why he was admitted into the hospital.
If he was attacked because of what he did, then he abandoned the identity of “Kiro” and acted under the identity of “Helios” which made it even more logical sense.
It is precisely because the illness has not been cured. He cannot expose his weakness but at the same time, he will also worry that he will be a burden to others because of this.
Tumblr media
MC: Kiro, are you trying to be strong again?
Secretly covering up his wounds and then create an identity of another person to carry everything on his back.
But this shouldn’t be a world where only superheroes get hurt.
MC: Kilo, display location.
Following my instructions, an electronic map immediately laid out before my eyes. I looked towards the center of the map and was shocked.
Next to the little bear wearing a small flower is another bear.
Helios hasn’t left. He was just outside the door.
I remember coming in, passing by the fire control room.
I thought for a while, not worrying about it anymore, I reached out my hand and touched the head of the little bear that was close to me, as if I could the person behind it.
MC: Kiro, can you hear me?
As I expected, there was no response.
I carefully tapped the microphone on the collar twice and then muttered to myself.
MC: Kiro, I know you are there. You can just treat this as me talking to myself but listen to me, okay?
MC: I know that I am very small and there are many things I can’t do and can’t help much.
MC: I don’t think it is shameful to admit that I am weak, because I know where to move forward after realizing this.
MC: For example, right now I’m thinking, do I have to learn some hacking skills or any combat skills?
There was a vaguely violent cough outside the door and I couldn’t help but smile.
MC: I know you must have encountered something sad.
MC: I also know that I can’t help you with this. You are afraid that I will only worry more so you choose to stay away from me.
MC: But Kiro, do you know?
Tumblr media
MC: Sometimes you are a coward and then you make yourself look strong.
Kiro:….MC
Kiro’s dull voice rang in my ears as if it came from the collar and also from the door behind him.
MC: Kiro, you don’t have to be so strong.
MC: Difficulty is like a giant beast with its teeth and claws bared. A little bear will inevitably be nervous and scared when facing it.
MC: But it doesn’t have to force itself to fight alone because if it were two bears, the courage would be doubled.
MC: The weapon to defeat the beast is often not any sharp knife, but the power of courage.
MC: My courage can be lent to you at any time.
There was a small voice and I knew he was listening to me carefully.
MC: I know you are working hard for everyone so I hope I can also help you in some way.
Next, I started to tell him all the information about the hunter game, Joker and the little boy I learned about.
Rather than watching him fight alone, I will accompany the superhero in my own way.
Tumblr media
After Helios closed the door of the utility room, he took out the hidden mini computer from under the console of the fire control room.
This is his temporary stronghold. It is located in the center of the city so it is convenient for his system to scan the entire terrain of Loveland City.
After he hacked into the opponent’s map program and was kicked out, he came to a decision.
He wants to build a brand new system to replace the other party’s authority and control over Loveland.
He opened the program on the mini computer and took out another device.
After the device started up, a beam of light projected into the air, showing an unfinished 3D map.
He sat down and flicked his fingers quickly in the air and the program projected in the air began to change with his movements.
This is a program he developed overnight to scan a map of the city and it is more intuitive than a 2D map.
At the same time, he tried to hack into the opponent’s system again, only this time, he did not bother to snatch the program they made.
He just wants to use their system to master the information of all players and all supply points so that he can enter the next step of the plan.
He quickly worked out a plan to end the game, with every step interlocking. And the first step of all plans must be that she can stay safe.
He knows that once Kilo is enabled, his identity will be exposed to the girl.
But in such a chaotic situation, he can no longer consider that much to ensure her safety.
After finding her, his ecstatic mood made him temporarily forget the anxiety caused by those recent events.
He forgot for a while that Kiro is broken, lonely and silent.
When she heard that she was looking forward to meeting the healthy Kiro, he suddenly recovered.
He is no longer the same Kiro, at least not the Kiro she was expecting.
He still couldn’t stand in front of her as Kiro.
The girl’s voice chattered endlessly, but it made him calmer than ever.
When she said that she wanted to learn hacking techniques or combat skills, he couldn’t help but cough.
At that moment, he was sure that she was serious.
She said that he was a coward.
She said that he doesn’t need to be so strong.
Helios tapped his fingers on the keyboard and gradually stopped.
Never compromise, never give up.
He feels his heart slowly being peeled off. There is a force pushing him forward.
She was right. As long as she was by his side, he would gain great courage.
This courage can support him to do many things and make him feel even more strength.
And the information she brought was really helpful to him.
Although he had investigated some information long ago, some of it was the first time he had heard of it.
The name Joker and Evol may be the main messenger of the game and the boy who can provide teleportation for him.
The so-called “ghost” to “human” transmission is actually done by this young man.
He frowned and began to think about what changes his plan needed to make as a result.
Fast fingers flew over the keyboard again and a “beep” came from multiple devices at the same time.
He raised his eyebrows slightly and his eyes showed unstoppable sharpness.
After scanning the three-dimensional map of the city, the player’s information points have been fully entered, the locations of the supply points have been disclosed to him, and the girl’s location information has also been erased from the game.
Tumblr media
Helios: This game is mine.
[New Game]
I leaned against the door and suddenly felt a vibration from my phone. When I picked it up, I found that the phone had a black screen.
Before I had a chance to restart it, the screen automatically lit up and then a line of words were displayed.
“Welcome to the new hunter game.”
New hunter game? I was stunned for a moment, before I realized what had happened, the word “hunter” was marked with a red “X” by the animation effect.
MC: Welcome to…..the new hunter game?”
The red animation effect keeps flashing on the screen, seeming to constantly emphasize the concept of “new game”.
Did Joker change the rules of the game? Why cross out the word “hunter”? What does he want to do?
Unsettling emotions came to my mind. I subconsciously wanted to call Helios but I heard a familiar voice come over the phone.
Tumblr media
??: Now, the game management rights will be changed.
??: I hereby announce, the new game has officially started.
This voice….is Helios!
I looked at the phone in disbelief and saw the screen change along with his voice.
“Hunter Game Is Out”
Helios: All the rules of the hunter game are invalidated.
Helios: There is only one rule you have to abide by—“No harm to anyone.”
I looked at the big words “NO FIGHT” displayed on the screen and faintly guessed what Helios wanted to do.
Helios: The communication method will now be opened, allowing all players to establish contact.
Helios: The game system adds a help platform and anyone who needs assistance can upload coordinates.
Helios: The map resumes normal use and all supply points will be publicly marked.
When he released these rules, the signal of my mobile phone showed full frame synchronously; a dialog box for help also popped up on the screen.
Then the phone automatically opened a brand new Loveland City map which not only showed the locations of all supply points but also a panoramic 3D map.
Helios: But don’t be too happy. My game will only be harder.
Helios: All of you, still have to follow my rules.
His tone was blunt, as if he was really the master of the game.
I was a little puzzled. Helios is clearly helping everyone to restore peace in Loveland. Why is he deliberately being so cold?
Although the fog has not dissipated, he can directly announce the end of the game. Why would he go the other way and announce the new rules of the game?
At this time, the screen switched to the surveillance on the streets of Loveland City and Helios seemed to have set up thermal imaging technology to clearly see colorful figures on the screen.
After seeing the contents of the surveillance clearly, my eyes widened unexpectedly—
Many people still pushed and scrambled for the aerosol at the replenishment point, fighting hard, and the scene was chaotic.
It seems that the so-called “new game” and “new rules” are meaningless to them.
Faintly, I seem to understand something.
Even if the game itself is stripped away, some people will still be dominated by fear or some kind of temptation and continue to dwell in the cold-blooded fighting.
So is this also Helios’ consideration?
I looked back at the closed wooden door waiting for his answer.
Helios: If someone insists on going their own way and continue to compete for limited resources…
Helios: The aerosol that you’re competing for will be ineffective at the moment.
Before he finished his words, everyone on the screen seemed to be taken aback. Several people raised the aerosols in their hands and panicked.
Helios: This is my game.
Helios: If you don’t believe me, you can try it.
The picture automatically zoomed in and the aerosol in the person’s hand was clearly exposed---the aerosol valve was automatically opened.
The crowd seemed to have finally realized the existence of the new game and stood there facing each other.
This is the meaning of Helios building a new game—
If the game is announced directly, everyone will continue to compete for aerosol if the fog is not effectively resolved.
That’s why he created another image of the game controller and introduced new game rules.
The purpose is to establish authority, let everyone follow his instructions, and get out of the mindset of fighting in a more orderly manner.
Helios: If you want to live, you must act according to my rules.
Helios: All players will be divided into three levels and displayed on your mobile phone screens according to the length of the remaining survival time.
Helios: Sub-level players need to help emergency level players to obtain aerosol.
Helios: The more people you help, the higher the ranking will be.
Helios: The highest-ranked person can still get a generous bonus.
Helios: Remember, “you are the game itself.”
Helios: Looking forward to your wonderful performance.
Helios completely changed the rules of the game.
If it can be executed smoothly, it will make the hunter game lose its original meaning.
It turns out that this is his “own way” to solve the hunter game?
While sighing, I was also a little worried.
The current situation is undoubtedly a huge change for Joker. In order to take back control,  he will certainly not give up.
I was about to remind Helios to be vigilant but suddenly there was a slight noise outside the door. Helios opened the door in the next second.
Tumblr media
Helios: Let’s go.
Helios: Someone has snuck in.

_____________
November 6th
Connor was currently reading deviant reports when his eyes jumped to one not long after the ordeal with Daniel. Case number 88-29451.
Tumblr media
The address was in the same building where he encountered Daniel. The same building where an android tried to save him. He looked at all the information and then the image of the android. It was definitely the one he saw the day before. This confirmed that the android was indeed deviant.
His LED flashed, as he thought about the fact he had been so close to another Deviant. Though at the time he had to go investigate the murder of Carlos Ortiz.
They had removed their LED. However he was confused about why they had helped their owner. What was the point if they had intended to hurt him? Maybe the police on the scene had missed something crucial. He opened up the case file further to look at the images taken of the owners injuries. Glass shards had been found around the owner, and the window was broken.
Yet Connor knew the window was broken on August 15th. He had seen shards of glass jutting out of the frame they had been holding onto. So had the android hurt their owner? Or had the owner come at the android with enough force to harm themselves when the android stepped to the side? The evidence collected did not match with the report from the owner.
He would have to further investigate later, for now he decided to look at more of the reports.
__________________________
You had wanted to help going to get the spare parts. You were sort of furious that they hadn’t let you go. Especially since you were one of those who knew exactly which parts Jericho needed for the androids currently there.
Okay no you were downright seething. You could have helped. On one side you understood that having more go made it more and more likely that one could get discovered but still. It was North’s wording that had you seething. That and the fact you hadn’t left the ship since spotting Connor the previous day. You were feeling boxed in again.
“Y/N puts us at risk every time they step foot out of Jericho. You really think they could pull this sort of mission off? Josh you said yourself they were reckless.” Even with your sparring sessions North didn’t trust you going outside of Jericho. Not that you expected that particular opinion to change once the sessions had started. It was a way to vent.
“She’s right Y/N, you should stay here. Make sure everyone is ok.” Josh. You knew he would agree. Your eyes darted to the new android wondering if they would voice their opinion, but they kept quiet. Though when you looked away you felt their gaze fall on you.
Simon smiled at you as he placed a hand on your shoulder, “We would be lost without your help here.”  You saw North roll her eyes at his words. “The others need you, and…”
His eyes got a sad look as he looked at the child android, “Yeah.” If he was to die he needed someone there. Though every android tended to help care for the dying. It was you, Simon and Josh who did it the most.
“Okay, but look after yourselves.” You may act like nothing got to you most of the time but it really did all affect you. Quite deeply.
Sure you and North didn’t technically get along. Though you knew she enjoyed egging you on just as much as you enjoyed egging her on. You caught her smiling several times as you were walking away from your sparring sessions and sometimes even after a heated discussion.
For Josh it was the fact you cared for the other androids and that Josh did as well that made you both like each other more. It was just him not liking you going out on your own that raised your hackles around him. He was right though, if you got into a bad situation you wasn’t 100% sure how well things would go down.
Simon? Well you had a soft spot for him and it wasn’t because he looked like Daniel. He seemed to know exactly what to say to calm you down. He was a really good friend. The only one you had told about the RK800 model you had seen which according to the news after the Daniel event was called Connor. Which after seeing him again you had looked into. He was worried when you said you saw him again, in fact he seemed even more wary of you leaving Jericho.
Because if that Android was walking around again. Who knew what it meant for deviants. You glance at North and decide you might investigate Connor a bit more. If he indeed was looking into deviants then you all needed to know more about him.
Simon knew you could likely help a lot on this mission, but he was right. You looked at the child android once more. You was needed here. In the next moment you surprised yourself by hugging Simon. “I’m serious don’t get hurt.” You step back knowing there was a hint of blue to your cheeks with the others looking at you in surprise in that moment. Simon was just smiling. He nodded and then slowly all four of them left. Josh, North, Simon and the new android. Markus.
You wasn’t too sure what to make of him, but having overheard his conversations earlier you decided he was likely one of the good ones. He didn’t seem to like violence towards humans but that could easily change. You hoped your opinion on violence never changed. But circumstances always change, maybe one day a human would do something you’d find unforgivable? You hoped not, and if they did that you wouldn’t react in a way that would make North proud.
Being reckless wasn’t the reason North didn’t want you going though, it was that you were pro human. You didn’t think you were reckless. You actually took careful steps to not be noticed as an android when leaving Jericho. However it was quite obvious to everyone that Josh did indeed think you were reckless. Though it didn’t stop him liking the rest of your personality. You did have civil conversations with Josh. You were both against violence after all. That certainly helped. Also the fact when you trusted another android you would share the location of Jericho.
The latter gave you plus points with everyone. Even North. Anything about helping other androids gave you plus points with her. It was just your non violent idealism that gave you minus points.
If you were more like North you don’t think you’d get along with a lot of the androids here at Jericho. Well a mixture of North and your tendency to leave when others wished you didn’t. That would be a dangerous combination.
You were one of the new AP700 models. You often wondered if your owner had owned any other android before you. But you had no clue. You were one of the higher versions of the AP700, your owner had a lot of money and liked to show off that they had bought one of the most expensive versions of the AP700. For reasons you and others likely did not understand.
AP700 can cook, care for children though your owner had none, complete everyday tasks, speak multiple languages and was programmed with a bit of self defence. The latter at the request of your owner. They paid good money to add that to your programming. You believed it had to do with them being constantly worried they would be mugged on the way home from shopping. They insisted to go with you in case you did something wrong.
You had once given North some tips in self defence, and that was when you had arrived not too long after her, also that was one of the reasons that had caused you both to begin sparring.
Something about what happened to her spooked her. She hadn’t told you and you hadn’t asked. It was her business to share it if she wanted. For now you were just happy that you had sparred with her. She likely was also happy with something to do other than stand around. It had improved your coordination with fighting, as you had yet to use that programming. It was true it came quite natural to you, but it didn’t hurt to practice to improve. Even as an android.
It was during one of these sparring sessions that you had come up with a name. Mainly due to North asking you constantly about it. Saying she was never going to call you AP700. She seemed proud for a second when you finally told her the name you had decided upon.
Though you trained with North, you didn’t want to know what would happen if you ever got caught. As sparring did nothing for preparing someone with little skill going up against someone who might be trained in more than basic self defence. Or in the case of androids, well programed.
“Can you tell me a story?” Your smile is genuine as you look at the child android.
“What kind of story?”
“The future?” Their small hand grips yours as they focus all their attention on you.
You brushed the hair of the child android aside. “One day we are going to live happily alongside humans. Sure there will still be those that stand against us. But I believe there are many more who will agree with our cause.” Stroking their hair was a serene feeling, “It will be then that we won’t have to salvage from our own kind anymore. We will have access to parts. No longer hunted. Maybe even have our own homes?” A hollow laugh, “That would be good right?” You force yourself to look down, these were the hardest moments of your life.
You brush their hair once more before leaning down and placing a kiss on their forehead. Tears streaming down your face. Their hand was loose in yours. But they had a smile on their face. You stroked their face before closing their eyes. You vaguely heard the return of the others, and cheers from the other androids. But you wouldn’t cheer, if they had only returned ten minutes earlier. They would still be alive.
You knew it was harsh blaming them, but you needed someone to blame. It was getting harder and harder taking parts from the dead to save the lives of the living. Yet with their return maybe that was over? You start to glance in the direction of where you believe they are when you notice a pair of feet stood near you. Your eyes travel from the feet up to the knees, up the thighs, hips, torso until you finally your gaze finally meet two different colour eyes. Those eyes were filled with anger and pain.
“They died not longer after you left. There was nothing you could have done.” You say as you slowly stand. They had been gone hours, and even though you wanted to blame them you didn’t want this new android to blame himself for not making it back in time to save them.
“We could have been quicker. Humans could treat us better.”
You put a hand on his shoulder, “Markus, not all humans are to blame.” Some were to blame for their actions but not all. Just like all androids shouldn’t be blamed for the actions of a few.
He could see the smile on their face, “They were happy.” His gaze came back up to meet yours. “Thank you.”
Blinking in shock. Had he just thanked you? “There is no need to thank me. You’re the one who is making things better for us all.”
“They should not have had to die, but they died happy.” A small hollow smile that reflects your own appears on his face, “You made them happy. Thank you.” He then begins to walk away, “If you wish to help in other ways, I am more than open to hear your thoughts.”
To say you were flabbergasted would be an understatement. This new android was full of surprises. First he thanked you for something he didn’t have to thank you for. Twice. Then he says he wouldn’t mind hearing your thoughts.
Glancing in the area of the others you see that they all seem fine. So without a second thought you walk over to Simon and hug him. You felt blank. You was hoping the hug would change that. Sure the talk with Markus was interesting, but the child dying was now making you feel cold.
__________________________
North was once more surprised when you hugged Simon, she had seen you conversing with Markus, wondering what was being said. But had remained near the others while sorting out what needed to be used that night.
She had however not seen your face during your discussion, but as walked over to Simon she had. Never before had she seen you such devoid of emotion. Tear tracks still glinting on your face. She glances in the direction the child was in and saw the position they were in. You had closed their eyes and placed their hands over their heart.
A wave of anger and anguish rushed over North so she closed her eyes to keep the storm at bay. Would anyone ever learn that they needed to be on the offence with the humans? Look at what they were doing, what they had already done. They would never learn.
She opened her eyes only to jump slightly back, you were in front of her. “You okay North?” They look you over for what she doesn’t know. “You’re not hurt are you?” They look at Simon, “Were any of you hurt?” He shakes his head. Their eyes dart back to her, “North?”
She pushes passed you as she say, “I’m fine.”
She hears you sigh in frustration but they do nothing as she walks away. She breathes a sigh of relief. She wasn’t use to this side of you. You always look so calm and collected even when you were arguing with her. But never had you looked so empty. Even as you asked if she was okay you had no expression on your face or in your eyes. Your normally expressive eyes devoid of anything. It was throwing her through a loop seeing you like that. Sure neither of you got along well, but never had you shown her concern.
She finds her eyes darting to the child again, maybe that was the last straw. Maybe now you would listen to her arguments about teaching the humans a lesson.
__________________________
Another sigh leaves you as you glance at Simon, “What happened?” Your eyes widen when he tells you what happened. That North wasn’t very happy that Markus hadn’t listened to her when the humans nearly caught them.
Your initial opinion of Markus seemed to be correct at least. He was turning out to be a good leader whether he wanted to lead Jericho and the androids or not. Today he had started the beginning of something either great or the beginning of the end for deviants.

Hey! I'm planning a story where both "real life" and sci-fi are included in the meaning that androids with AI exist in the world but most people aren't aware of it. Now I have planned almost the whole "reality" part and I found out that I don't know what to do about the sci-fi part which is not the main part of the plot. I want both parts be harmonic with each other so sci-fi wouldn't look out of place . Do you have an advice on this theme? I hope, It's clear what I mean. Thank you!
Hey there!
Let me ask you this: If the science fiction side of this isn’t the main part of the plot, and the characters that are part of the reality side of the plot don’t know the sci-fi side exists, how do the stories interconnect? Before you can establish harmony, you need to establish unison.
And now let me thank you very much for the use of the word “harmonic” because now I’m going to go off on a musical metaphor which I’m hoping will be fun!
If you’ve got two plots that exist somewhat independently of each other, that rarely interact, then you’ve got two people singing two different songs at the same time. It can be confusing and overwhelming to listen to, and while they might occasionally hit the same note at the same time, or even sing the same word at the same time, it’s hard to appreciate the symmetry when the rest of it is all over the place. If the two people coordinate ahead of time and sing the same song, then it becomes pleasant to listen to. And if they put in the work, they might end up harmonizing, which will make it even more beautiful.
So, if you didn’t understand all that metaphorical nonsense (kudos to you if you did), let me explain it in actual writing terms now.
Two storylines that rarely intersect, where one storyline might be supporting, or backing up the other, or maybe even just adding interest…it doesn’t necessarily mean they go together. Two great songs become unlistenable when you play them at the same time. So anon, look at the reality side. Why do you need the sci-fi elements to tell a complete story? What is the sci-fi adding to it? One of my favorite tools of solving writing problems is good old cause and effect. When something happens on your reality side, does that event become the cause of some conflict (the effect) on the sci-fi side? And vice versa: does something happen on the sci-fi side that causes a conflict on the reality side? Is that the connection?
If this kind of connection doesn’t fit yet, see if you can make it fit. Look at the events you have plotted out on both sides of your plot and see if you can apply cause and effect to any of these events. Once you’ve done that, you at least have them singing in unison. They’re meant to be sung together. Now, you have to figure out how to get them to sing well together, to harmonize.
One big way to accomplish this is to bring two divergent storylines together. You’ve already established cause and effect between the two sides, which immediately suggests that the two should converge at some point, even if it’s not until the climax of the story. If you find that the two sides of your plot can’t ever converge, then you might need to revisit the possibility that the stories don’t belong together. If the science fiction element of the story is merely a subplot, then it really would serve you better to put it in a drawer for later, when you might be able to develop it into a story by itself.
If you are able to converge the two plots, you can do even more to harmonize the two by adding things like parallels and foreshadowing.
I’m sure you all are tired of my Harry Potter examples, but I like using it since it’s something I know many people have read.
“Parallelism is my personal favorite story element.  Why?  Because parallelism makes light bulbs go off. Here’s a prime example: in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, we’re told the Tale of the Three Brothers. The first brother died for power, the second died for lost love, and the third greeted death like an old friend. Well, look at the Second War. Voldemort sought ultimate power and died as a result. Snape died for lost love (Lily Potter died at Voldemort’s hand). Harry walked into the forest, ready to die, ready to greet death for the benefit of all.
“Parallelism can also be between events, characters, settings, and dialogue. There is no limit. You can easily foreshadow something using parallelism if you an event early on that leads to a similar point later in the story. Readers will be able to analyze events and make connections to other parts of the story. Because parallelism allows for so much flexibility in the plot, you can weave multiple events together.”
from 5 Basic Literary Devices That Will Deepen Your Fiction
An example of foreshadowing comes in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. The time turner became a key component in the climax of the book. It would have been completely out of the blue if Hermione had suddenly announced that she had this device that could take them back in time. To compensate for that, JK Rowling added hints of it earlier in the novel, with Hermione constantly popping up unexpectedly, or taking classes that overlap. Foreshadowing is one of those things that you rarely pay much attention to during a first read, but when you read it a second time, with the knowledge of what happens later, you notice those small hints of what’s to come, and it adds depth to the novel.
The reason I suggest these two techniques is because they’re great at making connections between seemingly disconnected plot points.
The last thing I’ll say is that it’s difficult to say if any of this will apply to my anon’s story since I don’t have specifics, but hopefully all this will give you some things to think about.
