Steven Universe vs. The Silly Knight (OC Story)

I’ve been sitting, with these thoughts stirring in my head incredibly long, because SU and TSK have parallels and I just like to babble

Main Characters:

Steven vs Sir Laughalot

So both Steven and Laughalot are the kind hearted, bubbly, extroverted main character type who have a lot of conflicts to deal with, but here’s where they vary:

While Steven tends to always be “right” in episodes and is never allowed to be angry with people, Sir Laughalot does make mistakes (The River moment comes to mind since its the most plot crucial) and rides out the consequences and actually settles things, and he’s allowed to get mad at people, he doesn’t like to, but it’s human nature to get mad and upset sometimes so he does! (Like at villains, at Feline to sometimes(to be explained) etc).

When it comes to self crisis, Steven fluctuates between content with himself and torn apart with himself. Laughalot on the other hand is content with himself until he stumbles upon his old hometown where through most of that season, he spends time getting to learn about himself therefore being successful in becoming self realized once more!

All in all, I feel Sir Laughalot has a chance at being a stronger protagonist than Steven in the long run but that’s because I’ve put so much time and effort into working with him to make sure his writing is seamless

Side Characters:

Peridot vs Elymas

Both green, both short, but here’s where there’s difference, I plan to have Elymas’ character arc begin at the end of Season one after he is captured and span all of season two as thats when his presence is most realized early on. Peridot on the other hand, had what felt to me, a rushed arc, it was too quick of a change from scientific misunderstandings to plain out goofy misunderstandings and infantalization (?)

Plus, Elymas has more than one character arc. Arc One, developing him as the cocky villain sidekick, exploring him there. Arc Two, developing him as man learning how to be good. Arc Three, developing his romance with Laughalot and how they get along. Arc Four, Self Actualization arc, and delving into his origin as we meet his old home village. Arc Five, developing him after the chaos in his home country cools down. (And since he’s in both sequel series, he gets plenty more but this is for Series 1) Peridot on the other hand, got two arcs at most before getting Barned even though her presence felt like it was going to be bigger than it turned out to be.

Amethyst vs Princess Petunia

I’m putting these two together because of their personalities Tbh. Both are the loud, messy type but while Amethyst gets forgotten, Petunia is in lots of episodes As the person who believes in Laughalot the most when most people think of him as weak and “useless” because of his childish nature. Petunia has her own set of arcs spanning the seasons starting with the typical Rebel Princess Arc, Betrothal Arc (aka. Girlfriend Arc), Queenly Lessons arc, so on until her Best Ruler the country has ever had arc. Amethyst had two to three arcs at best, Establishment arc, Puma Arc (ended earlier than it should’ve), and the Rose arc (not explored enough). Not saying Amethyst is bad, not at all, she’s my favorite! But how shes treated is, Bad.

Jasper vs Feline

More to the treatment of the characters again. You know Jasper, but Feline is a self absorbed yet self conscious guy who takes his frustrations out on teasing Laughalot (kinda like Jasper and Amethyst). Jasper, we’re very unlikely to see treated right again, and was corrupted with no attempt to heal thus far. Feline, seen in a lot of episodes, arcs spanning most of the show, actually treated well by the writing.

Others:

Blue Diamond vs The Sorcerer

the horribly written mourning of a lost loved one vs. Showing the “nice guy” getting last and becoming evil and shown in the wrong for: - Working with a Dictator - Emotionally (+ Phsyically) Scarring Elymas - Feeling entitled to whine and cry about not winning the Queen’s hand

The Sorcerer is also taken down by Elymas a and Laughalot

Yellow Diamond vs The Barbarian King:

Evil Dictator, not shown as bad but also being attempted to make sympathetic vs. Genocidal Dictator who gets his comeuppance for:

- slaughtering villages - enslaving lizard and elf kind - trying to take over the country

And he gets pushed off a cliff by the people he enslaved so

I don’t really have much else but I’ve been working incredibly hard on The Silly Knight and have been polishing it for a while now and SU failing has made me able to fix things that I could’ve easily fallen down the same slope for if not careful

Also fanmade Mario &Luigi: Thorns Of Origins bosses (Gigglewiggle and Rooxlux)

Gigglewiggle is sorta like uuuuh a variant of Wigglers that's SO RARE. One In a big group. They like to party and make people happy but said partying can be chaotic cuz they're so very happy to be around they won't look before them .

Rooxlux are FLOWARDIN kingdom's rooks , they rarely do anything since their look alone is intimidating even tho they're really chill mostly. Tho when THERE IS danger they WILL attack without a question.
