Some people do kinda suck but I find a lot of joy in giving people really specifics compliments at my job and it makes their whole day sometimes c: 💛

#I had a very enthusiastic conversation about a lady’s hair and the way it was cut #she cut it herself!#I often like to tell some women that their purse is very nice and they’re usually very proud of their purses I’ve found #I will tell some people sometimes that the color of their shirt is so fitting for their skin tone and was a great choice that day #I expressed once to a customer that I loved the prints of his shirts and he came by one day in this one particular shirt #hoping I’d be there apparently because he wanted me to see the shirt because I love his style!#it’s so nice #I had a lady blushing once from head to toe because I said she looks like the perfect example of a woman #that face every artist draws for that reference #she was so beautiful #haha I like compliments on men’s facial hair too!#they’re proud of their facial hair a lot of the time #even soemthing as simple as they look amazing for their age which I’ve said many many times #like I said some people suck and I have yet to truly meet the bad eggs but man I just really like seeing them light up #when you compliment the littlest things they put hardly any effort into and think maybe nobody will even notice #I like pointing out those things

you know what we need for benedict's season is genuine yearning pining longing unable to touch forbidden scandalous not only on a societal level but on a class level romance vibes. i need that man to not be able to LOOK at sophie in case the wrong people see. i want him utterly unable to speak to her or interact with her in any meaningful way because the slightest wrong move might ruin her entirely. benedict is the least repressed bridgerton sibling by a long chalk, and i want him to Suffer bc his usual method of immediately hooking up with any person he finds even mildly attractive is completely off the table in this scenario. i want him to have to fight himself every moment to keep his distance i want him to be in abject agony i want him to truly Yearn hopelessly!! they need to not touch for like at least six episodes and when they finally do i need benedict to immediately pass out

#bridgerton #benedict bridgerton #does this fit with the book? not really. but the show is already so different that i'm kinda hoping they change some of his story's themes #bc i don't think show!benedict would ever ask a woman to be his mistress it just doesn't feel like he has those vibes #he already doesn't really care what society thinks of him so i can't see him being too cut up about sophie's parentage or status #like we already have scenes of him mingling with artists and painters and their models and boxers and modistes #and he's always perfectly at ease wherever he goes. which i think is part of the reason show!benedict is such a scene stealer #luke thompson really plays him with such a level of ease and familiarity that u don't see in many of the others #it truly feels like he's part of the family. he makes every scene his own in subtle ways and it's really fascinating #anyway if his season isn't next i'm gonna riot they can't keep theatrically trained luke thompson away from a real storyline for any longer

Angels’ trueforms in their most memorable moments [26/?] - Nephilim fetus: regular nephil, sired by a regular angel (above) and Jack, sired by Lucifer (below)

#NEW ONE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN AGES!!! I TOLD YALL I WASN'T DONE WITH THIS!!!#SO sorry it took so long. i still can't control my artblocks. but i've had this idea for so long #spn #spnart #spn art #mine.caro #ok so. explanation time. cracking my knuckles. i haven't done this in so long ahhhh #so i HAD to do nephilim eventually. of course. and the key thing about them is they're the children of angels and humans #and i figured i'd start with a fetus bc that's the nephil version of the angel factory settings. and that needed a shape like the AFS did #it felt right to go with a sphere. and after the nephil is born and becomes a more distinct individual etc the spheres unravel in different #ways. some open up like pillbugs (woodlouse? i never know the right name). others sprout like seeds. others spiral out. the possibilities #are endless hehe. and the sphere had to have a mix of angel trueform and human soul. which i've been coding so far as the black and white #trueforms and collages. so that was settled. but that couldn't be it bc it's not just one and the other. they're integrated in one thing #so. for the regular nephil i filled out some cells in black like angel trueforms and others with collages. in the trueforms cells #and it's Earthly Things like plants and body parts and fruits and animals water and the sky and rocks etc. and a bigger solid collage block #that's just body parts. so specifically human stuff. AND THEN i took that sphere (well circle) and cut it up and kintsugi'ed it with #angel grace. feels like a way to go to represent nephil. and then i added the angel wheels to look like a sort of proto version of AFS #and that's regular nephil. for jack he had to be different bc lucifer nephil is thee antichrist. it's different. so i followed the samelogi #but based on the lucifer trueform instead of AFS. so i painted the solid black with alcohol-based markers so i could smudge it with alcohol #and then added the collage bits (more from a fitness magazine than a fashion magazine i used for the other one. gets a more aggressive vibe #i think. more flexed muscles) and painted the chaotic smoke cloud over it. and then i did the same kintsugi process. i was gonna do it in #silver but figured it made no sense. it should be the same. and the black and gold look cool #and what else. regular nephil has a rosary-like umbilical cord! emerging from one of the poles of the sphere so to speak #and jack has none :// partly bc i forgot at first kfjg but then i didn't go back to add it bc i feel that matches fetus jack's situation #considering it's an angel grace umbilical cord #and i think that's it!#these aren't up on the stores yet but im gonna add them now #hope they're worth the wait. if anyone was waiting for more #Trueforms

So like, not a joke, not an exaggeration, I’m pretty sure this is my favourite panel in the entire Challengers/KoiBo continuity (and I decided to draw it first lol - it’s ‘cause I have such big feelings about it!!) It just hhhhhh, it so perfectly encapsulates everything he’s feeling in that moment; disbelief, betrayal, uncertainty, distrust, conflict - every moment of love he’s built up to that point has been thrown into immediate relief to what he’s been told and it’s all there, right on his face, it’s such a masterfully done expression ;; <3 I legit cry every time I reread, that whole scene is just so good, I could actually talk forever about his relationship with Morinaga in that one moment

The rest aren’t nearly so intense lol, mostly just grabbed from moments when I thought he was being especially cute <3 Concerned lad! His hair is so swoopy in Challengers hehe <3 <3 It’s actually even fluffier in his super early-on appearances, which are also excellent >:3c But I still like his KoiBo look best ♪ You can also see it’s a bit of a challenge to make his face as slim as he actually is, just thicken the lines inward until it almost looks right! Lol

I love this panel haha, everyone so silly chibi’d out. You can also really get a good look at how ridiculous his hair is, look at how the tuft that’s tucked behind his ear joins up with the tie! How does he tie it up like that, consistently?? How is he allowed in labs like that!! He’s ridiculous <3

Confused and blushy Souichi ft. Morinaga, I just kind of filled in the details he was covering lol. I love Souichi being dumb and having no self-awareness <3 He’s actually quite intelligent and emotionally aware a surprising majority of the time! But his blind spots leave big gaps haha

I love when he has his eyebrows in a relatively neutral position, he’s normally so grumpy! He looks so friendly even with just a neutral expression :D Plus his hair!! The way it’s communicated to be thin and feathery by being able to “see through it” to his lab coat, ah <3 Handsomest

Shy boy <3 I also really love the way his hands and wrists are shaped, such cool lines ah

I could’ve sworn he and Morinaga were like, almost the same size in Challengers... I guess Morinaga did have a second growth spurt, but still! It’s just an excuse to see him being cute!! Oh noooooo (lol)

It’s also fun to see a younger Souichi in a flashback, rather than in the Challengers style haha. He was a mess by himself, he’d hate to hear it but he really only does well with others haha. I also love how this scene is from the POV of one of his admirers, Momo is such a good girl and she’s so right <3

He’s being such a meanie to his sister in this scene lol, he’s the worst! <3 I was going to leave it at that, but adding his little frameless-glasses stem holes really made it look like Spamton’s googly eyes and I about lost it lol

Every week someone makes a post about how annoying it is that Dick Grayson fans don't acknowledge his flaws, and every week someone replies with an explanation that the flaws OP listed are entirely fanon and inconsistent with canon as it actually happened and at this point I have to assume that none of those explanations are ever going to stick because clearly some people just want the fanon to be true.

Anyway, I'm just putting this here for me to edit and add relevant-to-the-topic links later so I'll have them nicely at hand to read and sooth my frustrations when it gets real bad out there. (Echo chambers are good when we use them to drown out character mischaracterizing fanon.)

one of my most irritating and annoying traits: when I'm mentally zoned in on a thing and have all the details in my mind, NOTHING ELSE WILL DO. NO SUBSTITUTIONS, NO APPROXIMATIONS, THIS EXACT THING OR DEATH

#i used to drive my entire family absolutely bonkers with this #like. when i was 13 and totally obsessed with hetalia i wanted a coat and boots Just Like Russia #my aunt took me shopping. we looked all over the city and i tried on some good coats and boots #BUT NONE OF THEM WERE THE RIGHT CUT OR FIT OR DETAILS WERE MISSING #and i ended up going back home empty handed. leaving everyone involved frustrated beyond belief #also several other instances. when i was expecting a certain meal but things changed last minute? i would NOT be eating anything at all #everyone hated me for that. got yelled at so much over it #and now this coat thing augh. not this shit again i am so tired of myself already haha

who up seeing their disorder in a fictional character but feel like its not their place to put a name on it

#id have to be waterboarded before i can talk abt how i see a lot of my adhd and personality in mitsumi iwakura let alone post it #idk how to talk abt this without feeling like im talking over or invalidating ppls experiences relating with a character #someone was talking abt how ppl tie laios' autism to special interest and social difficulties but not much else which kinda flattens it #and then went into a respectful in depth analysis of other autistic behaviour that laios exhibits and it wasnt phrased meanly #its fascinating and important to me to hear someone explain a little bit abt traits that they recognized and often go overlooked #because it does help me learn more about it. but i think thats also where hesitancy kicks in when it comes to depicting it accurately #like i have adhd and some of my adhd symptoms overlap with autism (time blindness and pattern seeking behaviour) but that only means #it feels familiar to me even without having autism. on top of that traits arent always cleanly determined as being /caused/ by #a disorder. to understand my environment i compare it to something unrelated but similar to make it more familiar and for the longest time #i thought that was a personality thing and not an information processing thing since i loved playing pretend in my head as a kid #so if you make a character who experiences that hoping to reach people that also experience that and tell them its not weird or #smth youre making up like. thats the goal. ppl who dont get it arent expected to it just means it doesnt cater to them but it helps them #become familiar to it yk? since i dont have autism myself i dont feel confident i can depict it properly or explain it in my own words #but that doesnt mean im trying to dismiss it or try and cut it out completely.. ill just leave the floor open to someone who /can/#a lot of issues around fanon depictions are when smth is baselessly popularized or a characters personality and behavior is flattened #especially to fit them into a trending meme. its harmless and its supposed to be for fun but it gets tricky when you drag things that #need to be carefully explained beforehand or else it gets lost in translation. like that tweet abt 'hyperfixating' on cooking pasta #once it becomes popular language usually the original meaning is left out for the sake of simplifying it for everyone that when it #circles back theres a sort of hesitancy like. am i using it the way it was intended or am i unknowingly using the popularized version of it #actually thats probably why i felt wrongfooted during diagnosis bc it felt like i was misusing the words i heard to describe what i felt #i /know/ i see a lot of myself in mitsumi because our minds are always somewhere else and we tend to put good faith first and for me #that personal connection is enough. but idk it feels like its always gonna have to be 'palatable' first before i can talk abt it openly #mad respect to writers and creators who stick to their story even if theres the looming fear of ppl misinterpreting it and letting them #have it.. its been almost 2 weeks and i am so close to deleting that m3 dunmeshi drawing bc ppl keep saying chilchuck wouldnt have 200 HP #IT LITERALLY SAYS I MADE IT WHILE WATCHING EP 1. #durarara #izaya orihara #shizuo heiwajima #shizaya #a cheap imitation #i made a thing #ehe it's like a parady of one of the saw movie posters a friend sent me a while back #the one with the hanging teeth #and i also absolutely took reference from the way @shigaeru draws izaya's knives #i just really like the distinct shape he gives them #also since this is aci that knife design is kinda burned into my mind as the aci knife design whoops #the colours are also pulled and tweaked from that comic's first volume cover #the red bg is very iconic and fitting for this sort of thing and the blue shading looks really pretty with it.....#this whole thing is extremely derivative as you can see #i wanted to adjust more with the piece but i make my best art in the very first burst of loosely slapping stuff down #trying to clean anything up from there is futile #so i tweaked some things and just had to make myself share it as is #i wanted to make it clearer how the blade is cutting into the fabric but i couldn't figure it out :(#i hope you can still manage to derive the intended symbolism from it lol #i had this idea a while back but decided to use #shizayaweek2023 #free day #as a deadline to help motivate myself to actually try it #it's still late but whatever #throwing it up at the door rn #okay i actually sat on this for a few extra days just because of the horrific compression cursed upon it on upload #why???#i could not win no matter how small i made it #i have no clue how to fix it so now it just looks like that i'm sorry ;o;#maybe i'll try posting it somewhere else as well idk

taking a break from working to say man. if the end up having to cut content to fit everything in 24 episodes, my favorite chapter of dungeon meshi is almost certainly getting cut skdjfhglj

#again i have no idea if they're going to try to fit everything into 24 episodes #or if they'll come back next season with another 24 to finish it up #but thinking about the story as a whole #i feel like my favorite chapters are some of the least crucial to the story overall in terms of broad strokes #which has me like damnb . . . . . . . . i was really hoping for it skdjfhlgkjsdf #again ! ! ! there's no use in me exhausting any thought over it #because either it happens or it doesn't and it's not like me thinking about it will change that #but man. i want. the changeling arc animated to badly it's so funny and one of my favorite bits of the story sdfjhgljksdf #shapeshifter arc too because oughhhh the insights into everyone's perceptions of one another ksjdhfgljsdf #like of course i am awaiting griffin soup like a hungry dog because WAILING WAUHHGHG #and the chances of them cutting that are Low unless they're like #speed running the end of the story or pulling an original fma and just outright writing a new ending that gets them out of dealing with #(gestures) literally everything that happens in the second 50 chapters of the series #though that feels less likely considering that they've been sticking to the manga pretty closely even after The Tone Shift #um. i. um.#i should probably get back to work and stop worrying about dungeon meshi huh.#um. i just hope we get the changeling arc that is my final message change da world goodbye

Me: Writing Broken Ground reminded me of certain vibes in the fieldtrip fic, which I've picked up to edit twice since I finished the first draft in 2022 and then dropped because I couldn't get it just right. Maybe that was perfectionism. Maybe it doesn't need to be perfect. Now that I am starting to reacquire some writing brain, I should pick it up again and just do a clean-up edit and post it as it is, imperfect, instead of letting it stall out the entire Bells and Spires universe for another goddamn year because I can't get it just right.

Me, four hours later: Oh god. I remember now why I kept dropping it again. The arcs won't line up and I want the arcs to line up so badly! It would be so beautiful! The emotional arc can drive the action arc can resolve the emotional arc! But the edges just won't go together-

#i AM in fact. very slowly. working my way this time around to an imperfect-but-more-importantly-postable version #by shaving little bits off the edges of each arc until i can at least roughly line them up together #(it could be a perfectly serviceable action fic without the emotional arc. i could just cut it out and leave the action)#(but i don't WANT to do that. i love barbara's jealousy and desperation too much)#(so i'm just shaving and shaving to make them fit. i still lose what i'm losing but i can at least keep SOME)#fic nattering #bells and spires

While she was cutting my hair I kept like 👁️👁️ analyzing my stylist's sweater trying to reverse engineer that thang mentally and I think I might have 80% of this crochet sweater pattern mentally pirated

#Creepy chatter #Like that can't truly JUST be half double crochet alternating between full stitch + third loop stitch #I'm literally already making something w that already (all in third loop but still easy adjustment)#I wanna make a sweater or smth but I keep over hyping the difficulty #You can buy sweaters entirely made of hdc...Its not scary intimidating knowledge it would seem...#Showing up for my next cut w my illegally downloaded crochet sweater like :) it was cute!#I made some twist head bands and meant to bring her one last week but FORGOR...next time #She has cute short hair that's always different colors so I thought she could use a white velvet twist band for a bunch of different fits #I haven't taken pics yet bc lol...i look kinda dumb in them and the beautiful babygirls they're intended for are not around atm 😔
