A says “oh but its so cool and#convenient“ and i say sure. because they have the money and grew their business of being more 'convenient' than other businesses#A says “oh but the customer service is so good. if i want a return theyll do it straight away with no questions and maybe even give me#credit too“ and im like yeah. because they can afford to do that. ”sometimes independent sellers are in there too“ ok so buy from them then#If You Must but i can guarantee you mostly dont. not to mentuon theyre probably only on there in the first place because amazon has made it#so its one of the most popular places to use instead of anywhere else#and it went on. i just stopped talking eventually because it eas one of those situations where the other person was not fucking listening to#the point i was trying to make. which is that if you really have to. ok do it whatever. i get that its a bit impossible to avoid sometimes#im not gonna sit here and pretend when ive not been able to get something anywhere else i havent got it from there. but the point is to#actually think about WHY youre buying stuff and WHO the money is going to. because websites like amazon especially have created such a trend#of overconsumption. that you just buy stuff and then buy prime because oh its so cheap and useful and comes right the next day! and you dont#consider why any of these things are true. whos getting fucked over in the process. that you are one of the people getting fucked over!!!#lord i could go on but i shant#point is. genuinely do what you want like deep down i do not care it does not affect me and i know its not so straightforward#but people who just BLATANTLY and actively SUPPORT rich people (forgot to mention A kept talking about how the whole site was smart and that#Jeff was a genius blah blah) can you sit and realise that this whole system and that FUCKING Imbecile of a man are!!¡! a problem!!#i wish i could articulate it better but im leaving it at that#good morning yall xD#le text post

...I just remembered I wanted to make my own statement on the AI thing. ^^;
So you've probably heard, but in case you haven't: Tumblr just sold out everyone's data to the AI trash compactors, they probably did it long before they gave us the option to opt out, and even if you do opt out they're probably still taking and using your work anyway (telling people to opt out instead of actually asking for their permission is already scummy business practice, but when it comes to AI it's functionally meaningless. :/ It's always "well, we're telling them not to use these people's data and we're hoping they'll be nice and go along with it" with no regulations or consequences if they decide to just steal everything indiscriminately...)
Despite that, I am not leaving Tumblr anytime soon. I'm looking into other sites*, but at this moment in time, I have nowhere else to go. ^^; Besides, I still like it here. When I left DeviantArt I was already getting sick of the place, having my art stolen regularly by "fans" and paradoxically getting less and less interest in my work over time. By the time the devs turned the website into eye-blinding slop with Eclipse, I was more than ready to move on.
But I still enjoy using Tumblr. I like writing long text posts that no one would bother to read anywhere else, I like answering asks, and I like the unique sense of humor and style among the users here. ^^ It would take a lot to force me out.
Also, I can take a little solace in the fact that AI-bros do not value "low-quality" art like mine. ^^; If messy cel-shaded sketches with visible pixels ever become popular, then I'll worry, but for now I think it's highly unlikely that anyone will want to wholesale regurgitate my art. If anything, I think prioritizing it in their datasets would only make them worse...and on that note, if you do have "high quality" detailed/painterly/semi-realistic art that would be targeted, I'd recommend 'poisoning' it with Nightshade/Glaze. Although I heard a rumor a while back that AI is "building immunity" to Nightshade and already learning to work around it, but I'm really hoping that was just a wishful lie from the trash compactors themselves. I haven't heard it repeated since then, so I think it's still worth a shot. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
So anyway, like the post I reblogged said, I think the best thing we can do now is to make it clear that WE DON'T WANT AI ART. We don't care how easy it'll be to instantly generate thousands of hours of mindless 'content' to look at; we don't want it. Since regulation is lagging so far behind (wanna know why Disney's copyright hounds didn't shut this down on sight? Most likely, they're hoping to profit from it down the line) the only way to fight this right now is with individual litigation and consumer demand.
Don't support projects made with AI**; don't hate-watch them or spotlight them. Focus your energy on the millions of human artists who are still here, and need your support now more than ever.
*I've heard people mention moving to Twitter and/or Artstation: fam, you're jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire. ^^;;; IIRC, Arstation was one of the FIRST art sites to start flirting with AI, and Twitter has been selling off its users' data for several months already. Go there if you must, but don't go under the impression that it's "safer".
**Please keep a cool head when discussing AI art, and keep in mind that it used to mean something other than "mass theft". Artists have and still do create AI tools that are built on limited data sets with permission/compensation, that are used to aid them in their work and encourage human artistry (Vocaloids and DAW's, for instance) rather than stamp it out. Until a specific word evolves into popular use for exploitative AI, we're kinda stuck with this confusion, so remember to get the facts before you speak out.
P.S. Praying every night that this is a dumb fad that will soon die and go to the same hell as NFTs. >_< Praying every morning that the influx of AI art into its own datasets will eventually corrupt itself and make it useless. >_< >_< Praying every afternoon for both at once! >_< >_< >_< Like to charge, reblog to cast, all that

07.20.2023 - A Big Change
Tumblr media
So. Uh. It hath certainly been a while since I properly updated on Aphelion. It has also been no secret that I’ve been struggling with this wip.
In short, I created this wip when I was a teenager and full of angst, and although I did pare down the angst in the story a lot as I grew (both physically and as a writer), there were just certain aspects ingrained into the story that were still just Too Much, and I really wasn’t liking where the story was going. And THAT meant I wasn’t having fun writing the book, which truly was the worst feeling.
So...what now? I don’t want to abandon this story! There’s still a lot I like about it, and I really want to share it with everyone! But I really needed to figure out how to fix this story, or else I’d just find myself trapped in the same hamster wheel, tumbling around in the same story issues no matter how much I tried to rearrange them.
Tumblr media
FIRST: To identify the problem. This is something I’ve been aware of for years, and it’s that Cay’s story is much too dark and gritty. That could be fine, but...the type of stuff he goes through is giving T/he Fo/xhole C/ourt, which is a series that I did like a lot for a time, but that I’ve also come to be critical of for its...how do you put it...trauma porn? I think that’s the word. And I don’t want my story to be that, even if it is popular.
But here’s the thing: I’ve tried paring down how dark Cay’s story is. I’ve tried having the bad stuff happen off screen, or be implied instead of said. NONE of it was working. And it doesn’t get better in the planned sequels, where he basically spends all his time consumed by guilt and grief. His whole story was huge bummer to think about, let alone write. He also just adds so much complexity to the story, which could be a fine, normal thing, because twists and turns are fun, OR it could just make the story more muddy and convoluted. And I’ve been finding it’s the latter.
And, leading into the next point...
SECOND: Prioritize. What exactly is it about this story that I like? I like Rian’s story, which is an exploration of the “kid with superpowers used as a weapon” trope that I like a lot, and I like Shelby, who I’ve always liked writing because of how dry and snipey she can be. I like the odd relationship between her and Rian.
And Cay...well, I like Cay, and I like how I made his story intertwine with the rest of the plot, but he was, UNDOUBTEDLY, the one dragging everything down. It’s always his chapters that feel too convoluted, too convenient, too contrived.
And so, THIRD, the diagnosis:
I’m cutting Cay entirely out of the story.
And that’s. WILD. to think about. He was the bona fide main character. He was the character I drew the most and thought most about. There was a plot twist (several, in fact) involving him later in the story that I’ve always been excited to see readers’ reactions on, but I had to weigh my options: do I want a story that works, or do I want a reaction from readers?
I want a story that works.
So. Right now, I’m trying out a new version of the story WITHOUT CAY. That’s right. He’s gone from the story. And what I found out is that when I do this, I actually open up a lot more room for properly placed (AND paced) exposition and worldbuilding. Parts of the story are allowed to breathe. It allows the story to be more focused on the theme and character relationships.
This means that, yes, I’ll be killing so many darlings. There are still parts from Cay’s story that I really love, but if I can’t kill these darlings, then the story isn’t going to go anywhere.
Other things that will be cut are: the “magic” system (it never added anything to the plot. This is also a problem I’ve been aware of, but I never cut it because I just thought the concept was cool.); Ev and Jack; aepids (the pterosaurs they ride on).
That being said, I do plan to reuse some of these in another story that I’ve also been stuck on, sooooo we’ll see how that goes.
I’ve gotten one chapter done so far; basically I’ve repurposed parts of Cay’s chapter and turned it into Bee’s chapter. I struggled a little with it (this chapter/setting ALWAYS makes me struggle) but I managed 3k words for it!
That was a long update, so here is an excerpt or Bee and Idan scavenging.

15 African Gods and Goddesses You Should Know - Myth Nerd
Africa is easily one of the most diverse and beautiful places on our planet, but it’s not exactly as popular as other tourist destinations around the world.
Whenever you think of “Africa”, you most likely think of lions, elephants, and the endless stretches of jungles, filled to the brim with venomous creatures that can’t be found anywhere else on this planet.
But while Africa does have an abundance of those elements, it also has a ton of beautifully diverse people and cultures that have lived amongst each other for thousands of years now.
As such, the more you look at it, the more interesting these African cultures get, as their religious beliefs are very different from ours. While ours are more so based around a unified belief in a supreme deity, theirs are a lot more closely related to the human life and their daily treads.
There are thousands upon thousands of cultures to explore here, to the point where you could actually spend your whole life researching everything that Africa has in store for you and you’d still fail to capture it in its entirety.
So, for today’s article we decided to bring you a quick rundown of 15 African Gods and Goddesses that are going to show you just how interesting this part of the world can really be.
But before we do that how about we give you a little introduction to African Mythology, starting off with:
How Many African Gods Are There?
Tumblr media
The Pantheon of Orishas, a belief system that is mostly followed by the Yoruba people, is a group of divine spirits that was created by the supreme god Olodumare.
While there is no actual official number of gods that can be found in this pantheon though, there is an interesting notion around it which states that there are 400+1 Orishas around.
This is because that number is an incomprehensible number for the Yoruba people, which in turn implies that there are an infinite number of gods in this pantheon.
Some recollections tell us that there are as many as 700, 900 or even 1,440 Orishas around. The reason as to why there is a +1 Orisha in that list is because the +1 is meant to represent the extra one you didn’t account for, or the one that you never even considered in the first place.
As such, it is meant to represent that there will always be more Orishas than you think, and while you can try to count them one by one you will always fall short before reaching the final number.
Is Yoruba the Definitive African Religion?
There is no official African religion out there, and that is because there are countless cultures and practices that are spread all across the continent.
Instead, we can refer to the Yoruba religion as its most popular religion simply due to how widespread it is.
The Yoruba religion originated from Nigeria, where it starts off small but it soon picked up traction, becoming a faith where its followers can address the gods and goddesses through their complex oral traditions which they pass down from generation to generation.
Important Themes in African Mythology
Tumblr media
By far the most important theme that we need to mention about the Yoruba religion is the idea of Animism. This simply refers to the fact that everything, and we do mean everything, possesses some sort of spiritual essence within it.
So, you should never disrespect anything because chances are, they are controlled by the Orishas and disrespecting them is akin to disrespecting the Orisha gods.
The second most important theme that we can attribute to the Yoruba religion and culture is the idea behind reincarnation. This belief has been with the Yoruba religion for many generations now, and it refers to the idea that deceased family members will be reborn as babies after their passing.
This is why you will often times find Yoruba people named after their departed parents or grandparents in case they look alike. If they share the same likeness, they will be called something like “Babatunde” which pretty much just translates to “father returns” or Yetunde” or “mother returns”.
Now that we are accustomed to the most popular religion in Africa, let’s just talk about the 15 Gods and Goddesses that we have in store for you today, starting off with:
1. Oshun
Interestingly enough, Oshun was actually not that popular in western media until a while ago, when Beyonce mentioned her in her Lemonade music video. That is when people started to do their research about the Goddess, shining light on this Yoruba deity for the first time in the states.
But who exactly is Oshun? Well, she is the Goddess of sweet and freshwaters. The reason for this is because she is most often times depicted admiring her own beauty in the water.
She is known for healing the sick with ease, fostering prosperity and better yet, for making infertile couples fertile.
Most of the times she is actually showcased as a beautiful and coquettish young lady, and her name specifically translates to sweetness, joy, beauty and good times.
2. Ajé Shaluga
Ajé Shaluga is the god that represents money and treasures. Most of the time they are depicted as both a male and a female orisha, and their followers are always thanking them for providing them with fair wages and plenty of work opportunities to keep their families fed and happy.
If you ever need a job as a Yoruba follower, you just need to pray to Ajé Shaluga and they will grant you your wishes. While this Orisha is not one of the most popular or powerful gods around, Ajé Shaluga still has a decent following due to them being associated with happiness, stability and spiritual wealth.
If you wish to give Ajé Shaluga an offering, all you need to do is you need to grab a handful of fresh fruit, pigeons, necklaces made out of coins and shells and flowers and you need to leave them at one of their altars.
3. Bumba
Also commonly referred to as Mbombo, Bumba is actually the creator god of the Kuba people from Central Africa.
It is said that Bumba vomited the universe during its inception, creating the sun then drying up the water on Earth creating the land. Bumba didn’t stop there though as he also vomited up the sun, the night and nine animals in total.
These nine animals are the original inhabitants of Earth, and out of several combinations came humanity.
Bumba himself however is represented as a giant white-colored humanoid creature. He is most often times showcased sick, since he did vomit up the Earth back in the day.
4. Eshu
The idea of having a trickster god may sound like something made up by the Nordics, but African cultures weren’t all that far off from this concept either since they had Eshu right around the corner.
Eshu, also commonly referred to as Elegba, is the Trickster god of the Pantheon. He is pretty much just a benevolent version of Loki, as he goes around not trying to stir up problems but instead just enjoying life, more so playing the role of a messenger between the realm of spirits and mankind.
If you do actually spot him and decide not to give him an offering, he is definitely going to play tricks on you, but for the most part he just wants to have fun and be left to his own whims instead.
He does require tobacco offerings though, but once you do receive his blessing you are pretty much set for life.
5. Ogun
Regardless of which mythology you look at, chances are that there is always a master of iron right around the corner, ready to bring the gods the weapons and armor that they don during the final days.
West Africa is anything but peaceful, as war can break out at any point between tribes, which is why steel is a more useful keeper of peace than words will ever be.
And when steel becomes your only means of protection, it isn’t too uncommon to find gods based around the armory for the warriors to pray to.
This is where Ogun comes in. He is known as the Giver of Iron or the Warrior God of War for many. He is the best weapon wielder in the Orisha. He is the one that protects the Yoruba people from dangers and more specifically, the one that helps bless their weapons before they set out for war.
6. Oya
Tumblr media
Oya is by far one of the most ferocious and protective gods that the Yoruba pray to. She is often times referred to as the Goddess of wind, thunderbolt and fire, and she is by far the most feared goddess in the pantheon.
This isn’t to say that she mistreats her followers, quite the contrary actually, but it is something to keep in mind if you choose to pray to her.
Whenever she shows up, she is usually accompanied by her husband, Shango, the God of Storms. The two walk together as their thunderstorms destroy everything in sight.
7. Shango
While modern people look at the roar of the thunder and they don’t think much of it, back in ancient times, this thunder would have been a sign that the gods’ wrath was coming down from the heavens, punishing the pagans that took the gods’ name in vain.
This wrath was represented by Shango, the bringer of thunder, as he would showcase the true power of the Gods through his own wrath and fury.
He is also the god of masculinity and strength, with many people comparing him to the Greek God Zeus or the Norse God Thor.
He actually has three different wives, Oshun, Oya and Oba, and he is often times depicted with either one of them or all three being by his side.
8. Ala
Igbo is one of the oldest African religions around, with Ala being one of their oldest and most popular goddesses.
Her name literally translates to “Earth”, which is meant to indicate that she is the creator of our planet and the one that controls its every move.
She is the goddess of fertility, morality, creativity and land, and she is often times seen next to Amadioha, her husband and the God of the Sky.
She is actually often times honored and celebrated by the Igbo people, especially so during the yearly yam festival.
You should never take her name in vain as if you dare to disrespect her, she will convince her husband to stop the rain from coming down, causing the people to suffer tremendously because of it.
9. Oshun
We all know that no matter which religion you look into, chances are that they consider rivers to be a benevolent gift from the gods.
When it comes to the Yoruba people, Oshun is the one most commonly referred to as the Goddess of Rivers, but besides this she is also often times known as the Lifeblood of the Niger River and the mother of all rivers.
She is actually Shango’s favorite wife, and she is one of the most important Orishas that you need to know about in the Yoruba pantheon.
She is also often times associated with fertility and childbirth, and it is said that she is the one that gives mothers the ability to do everything in their power to protect their children from dangers.
10. Oduda
Oduda is the goddess of prostitution that is worshipped by the North-West African people. These are the Benin, Yoruba and Dahomey tribes, and despite the fact that prostitution is considered to be a taboo by most modern people, it is often times cited as a necessity by these tribes.
Her name translates to “The Black One”, and she is most often times showcased as a serpent. The reason as to why she is the goddess of prostitution is because that is the most common practice in the Caribbean Islands.
11. Obatala
Often times referred to as the “Child of God”, Obatala is known as the kindest god in the pantheon, even though they are seen a lot of the times next to their father, the powerful Olorun.
Interestingly enough, Obatala was never actually stated as being a male or a female god, they are pretty much androgynous.
It is said that Obatala was the one that created the human bodies, and as they finished up their job, they demanded of their father to breathe life into the soulless bodies in front of them.
Their androgynous trait is actually meant to represent fairness, forgiveness and compassion all at once. They were supposed to take care of the first men and women, but because they got distracted their brother Oduduwa decided to create the world instead for them to be safe in.
12. Yemaya
Yemaya is known as the Patron Spirit of the Ocean and the Rivers, and she is the main deity that the Yoruba people pray to when they set sail.
She is said to be motherly and strong willed, while also being very good at curing infertility in women. Whenever she does lose her temper though she causes the waters to be violent, attacking and taking down even the mightiest ships because of her sorrows.
13. Aja
Aja is actually the Goddess of the Forest and all of the animals that live within it. She is the one that brings the life over to the forests, and most often times she is depicted carrying around a basket with her.
This basket is full of potions and healing herbs, since she is also often times referred to as the Goddess of Botany.
She was the one that taught the Yoruba people how to create potions and heal through herbs alone, and whenever you do go hunting you need to give her an offering so she allows you to have a safe passage through her realm.
14. Obaluaye
While death is never considered to be the final frontier in most any African culture, that doesn’t mean that you should welcome death no matter what.
Being able to prevent death from happening simply means that it was not their time to go yet, and if you can do that you need to thank Obaluaye because they were the ones that gave you the answers you needed when you searched for a way to heal them.
This is because Obaluaye is the Master of Healing and by far one of the most popular Orisha in the Yoruba mythos.
He is the one that has the cure for any illness around and if you ever happen to grow sick and weary you need to pray to Obaluaye if you wish to be healed as soon as possible.
15. Kibuka
Kibuka is actually referred to as the God of War in the Buganda Empire kingdom. It goes as far back as the 9th century, way before the first Europeans set sail on the country’s shores.
It is said that after the Bugandan people were terrorized by a series of attacks, their king decided to have a meeting with Mukasa, the Creator of all things, to ask him how he can defeat his enemies.
His answer was simple and swift, he ordered his younger brother, Kibuka, to fight on their behalf as their God of War.
Because of this Kibuka pretty much managed to destroy everyone in his path, bringing victory to the Buganda Empire kingdom.
Conclusion
Tumblr media
African mythology has hundreds if not thousands of other gods and goddesses that we have yet to mention in this article alone. While the Yoruba mythology is by far the most popular, we also recommend checking out some of the other religions here if you have the time for it.
That is because there are so many wondrous, crazy and fantastic stories that you can hear coming from the tribes here, stories that you won’t be able to find anywhere else around the globe.
While it is nowhere near as popular as the Norse or Greek mythologies, African mythology can be just as fun to research if you have the time and passion to do so.
At the same time, we can assure you that if you do end up doing your own homework, you’ll find more than a handful of customs and traditions that you yourself may start adoring just as much as we do.

Pokemon Card of the Day #2750: Palkia-GX (Ultra Prism)
Tumblr media
Palkia-GX had a bit in common with Dialga-GX in that it had an absurd GX attack that needed a ton of Energy. The similarities ended there, as Palkia-GX also had a main attack that could deal some good damage. Unlike Dialga-GX, its Energy acceleration was a bit limited, at least in any Standard format, and that might have cut off any advantage it had over the counterpart that, to be fair, didn’t really compete with it outside of aesthetics.
180 HP was typical for a Basic Pokemon-GX, being able to take an attack far more easily in the BKT-On format than anywhere else. The Fairy Weakness, as a result, mattered most against Gardevoir-GX and the like, which weren’t that popular but still got a bit of play. The Retreat Cost was 3, and it was nice to have something like Switch available if you could fit it in.
Spatial Control tried to get Energy onto Palkia-GX quickly. A Water Energy was needed and it let you move any number of Energy from your Benched Pokemon to Palkia-GX. This was a set-up move that could be helpful, but also one on a Pokemon-GX without a huge amount of HP. Doing no damage and not disrupting at that spot required good timing, so a lot of caution was needed to avoid just giving up 2 Prizes instead.
Hydro Pressure worked with any Water Energy Palkia-GX did get. Yes, the base was only 60 damage for 3 Colorless Energy. 20 more was added for each Water Energy attached, and 3 Water Energy got the attack to a very respectable 120. It wasn’t as efficient at hitting 120 as, say, Zoroark-GX, but it was a capable attacker, especially in earlier formats where that was pretty standard.
Zero Vanish GX was the most interesting attack on the card. Setting it up was a giant pain and probably did require Spatial Control in most cases. 3 Water and 2 Colorless Energy was a lot. 150 damage was good, but more was still needed to make it worth all that Energy. That came when you got to shuffle all Energy from all of the opponent’s Pokemon into their deck. This could be a devastating blow to decks requiring a lot of Energy that didn’t have really potent forms of acceleration. Even some that did to an extent, such as Rayquaza-GX, could be set back quite a bit. When you got to access it, this was an incredible attack.
Palkia-GX could be a game-changing Pokemon. A big issue there was that it wasn’t able to get that Energy most of the time. Its best chance may have been in Water decks that used Wishful Baton to hand off a bunch of Energy after something was Knocked Out. Being a Dragon-type meant that both the earlier Aqua Patch and the much later Frosmoth couldn’t help it. One place it did have a chance was in Expanded, where it could get loads of Energy from Blastoise. That was one place it could actually reach its potential, as support was absolutely required to have a chance.

My favorite Alt-Rock artists (Part 3)
This will be the final part of my little series of my favorite artists under the umbrella term that is Alt-Rock. For this finale I will be talking about the subgenre that has exploded into my life somewhat recently and has become by far my favorite style of music. This genre that I speak so highly of is Alternative Folk, it combines everything from a smooth angelic rhythm to just being able to resurface memories from my childhood in an instant. It is in my eyes the perfect music for summer break and long car rides. I will talk about my favorite lesser known artists from this genre as I feel they reflect my taste better than the artists who are more popular and already praised for their accomplishments. If it weren’t for this condition that I am putting on myself I would definitely write about Lord Huron, but they are so well known and popular that I am pretty sure anyone will like it so there is no real point in giving the same opinion as everyone else.
Tumblr media
Firstly is a pretty niche band that has recently been shown a lot of love from their newly discovered fans, Dispatch. I was initially thinking of gatekeeping this one as it is something truly special that I found all by myself after lots of searching, but I guess my blogs aren’t big enough for me to care that much about it. When I think of relaxing on a beach enjoying the sunshine this type of music and rhythm is exactly what I want to go alongside it. Every song has its own story and feel, from the first few seconds it’s easy to differentiate every song. Their style is very comforting and nostalgic as they usually use very little artificial modifications to their sounds, which gives it a sort of homemade and campfire feeling. Secondly the rhythm I think is what I love the most about them, the songs really sound like a campfire story being told around a group of friends. It is slow but keeps a nice flowing rhythm that carries your soul throughout the whole song. I find it hard to single out their best song for me because they are all so incredible and so unique, but if I were to talk about one it would probably be “Only The Wild Ones”. The lyrics are all about living freely and not being held back by superficial things like living a materialistic and solitary life. The chorus is a perfect representation of this, lines like: “Oh, the riot and rush of the warm night air” and “Stars are up now, no place to go but everywhere” perfectly encapsulates the essence of a free and wild lifestyle. I find this resonates with me a lot because there are a lot of times in my life the desire to just take a break from everything and go out and nature or just somewhere different to let it all go. But the deliverance of these powerful lyrics is what brings it home for me, the spiritual vocals really make it feel like it’s my consciousness saying these things and makes me feel much more emotionally connected with the song. This band wholeheartedly deserves a 10/10 from me, if it weren’t for Lord Huron this group would be my undisputed number one.
youtube
Next is a modern version of the folk genre Ben Howard, he is much more well known then Dispatch but that doesn’t mean much in the grand scheme of things as this is entirely my blog and not one of the general population. For me Ben Howard is instead of being on a beach in the sunlight, his songs are more stargazing type of songs. His lyrics and instrumental are much softer and relaxing. The songs are all about a certain feeling or memory and less of a coherent story with a start and end. The focus for the instruments is the guitar work of Ben and the intricate chords and rhythms played. I could honestly do a whole blog on just his style of playing guitar. It brings something to the table that I can guarantee you will never find anywhere else, it is and has been my favorite guitar playing i have listened to ever since my dad showed me Ben Howard. The lyrics and guitar picking are the heart and soul, they are like two lovers dancing together and taking the spotlight. A song that I find to be the masterpiece of Ben Howard is Old Pine. It has a very slow start that really brings your ears along for a ride, in the same sense that you slowly walk in a lake to get adjusted, this way of starting the song sets the tone quickly that it’s not some one and done magic that tries to keep your attention from start to end. The lyrics really scream childhood camping memories with lines such as: “Careless and young, free as the birds that fly”, showing how when we were younger, when days were better, we didn’t care about the small things, we would just go with what was fun without remembering the bad. The impersonation of these feelings is why I love his songs so much, he is able to perfectly represent a key memory in listeners with every melody. I believe that Ben Howard is deserving of 9.8/10, because of how well the songs can bring up memories, but I deducted a few because there is a handful of songs that lack the ability to accomplish this.

2!
thank youuuu :)
i already did number 2 the last time i did it (you can find it here), so i'll do number 3 for you!
Welcome to Sall, capital and largest city of the United Tribes of Amall, land of the Angels and Demons! Located in the northeastern half of the country, in the edge of the Enchanted Desert and very close to the first slopes of the Burned Mountains, it is one of the oldest (arguably the oldest) cities in Magiyai, and was originally built by a freshwater lake that was eventually dried up; modern Sall was built in the lake basin. Just as in the rest of Amall, mists are a frequent ocurrence, and here is where they are stronger and more frequent out of the whole country, being almost a year-round phenomenon. This makes Sall a pretty interestingly looking city, as its buildings are all built above the mists, being very tall and with thousands of bridges and platforms that connect the different quarters and districts of the huge city, built vertically instead of horizontally.
It has almost 37 million inhabitants within its metropolitan area (between Tokyo and Delhi), most of them hailing from the various Angelic tribes, although there's also a growing community of Demons in the lower part of the city, under the mists. Various races from all over the Duvegh Desert region (Peltians and Genies) also live in the city, as well as some other races from nearby areas. Amallese is the main language of the city, and Peltian is also widely used as a lingua franca - the Magic Tongue is barely used.
Sall is the head of Amall, and as such it is full of government offices including the Hall of the Tribes, where the leaders of the tribes regularly meet to discuss stately affairs. The city itself is independent from the rest of the tribes, and is ruled by the Silver Throne, who oversees the Hall of the Tribes and takes part in it; currently this position is held by Arhesiel Lligni.
Even though Monoligism is the official religion of Amall and is widely practiced by the Angels in the city, being the Great Church of Liget in the district of Llejichi the most sacred place in Sall; there is a great influx of Duveghism mostly brought by Peltan, Genie, and Demon immigrants, and hundreds of shrines have been built in the city. This is a point of social conflict, as the majority Monoligist population refuse to accept Duveghism and thus the latter suffer great discrimination. On top of this, Demons in Sall are more harshly treated than anywhere else in Amall, because Demons rarely venture outside of the Burned Mountains, but in the city they are forced to live alongside prejudiced and bigot Angels. This produces a lot of strife in the city, and elevates crime and unsafety levels by a lot.
However, the unique makeup of the city and its particular atmosphere, with thousands of buzzling bazaars and countless libraries and other cultural spaces, makes Sall one of the most sought after and popular cities in the world!
Send me a number (1-104) and I'll assign you a city from my fantasy world (Magiyai) to live in

Use Our Site for Your Delaware Corporation Online Filing
If you are in the early days of getting a business up and running, you probably do not have much free time on your hands. In fact, on top of a frenzied typical workday, the odds are good that you are spending a lot of nights and weekends doing everything you can to position your business for success. While entrepreneurship does merit a lot of hard work, it can be uniquely professionally rewarding. After all, you probably got into this venture with the goal in mind of being your own boss and controlling your own income potential. Still, outside of your professional expertise, you have probably found yourself managing marketing, payroll, and even human resources with a skeleton crew. Since your time comes at a premium these days, why not handle structuring your business online instead of inking a bunch of forms by hand? At Corporation Center, we can help you process your Delaware corporation online filing with just a few clicks. Every state in the U.S. is home to hubs of commerce. The truth is, though, savvy business owners tend to base their businesses in states that are entrepreneur-friendly, with low corporate tax rates and a viable marketplace. Delaware, which sits humbly among the larger states on the east coast, happens to be one of the most popular places available to incorporate a business. While Delaware does have low taxes for businesses and is located near major American centers of commerce like New York and Boston, it’s its legal system that entrepreneurs find most appealing. Delaware’s Chancery Court is one of the oldest legal systems in the land, and instead of juries of citizens, it relies on judges with a unique grasp of business law to arrive at legal decisions. This makes the First State a uniquely appealing environment for business owners. How to Manage a Delaware Corporation Online Filing So, why form a corporation in Delaware, or anywhere else for that matter? Well, when you create a corporation, you suddenly have the ability to issue stock to outside investors. This means that you can sell off fractional stakes of ownership in your company in order to raise the capital necessary to hire a larger team, open a new location, or develop a more aggressive marketing plan. Some corporations will also receive “pass-through” status from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), which means that gains and losses incurred by the business can be passed through to its incorporators. If you are looking to set up your Delaware corporation, there is a general process you will want to follow. First, select a corporate name that has not already been registered in the state and adheres to the necessary guidelines. Next, decide on a registered agent to manage all legal correspondence on behalf of your business. Finally, complete your Articles of Incorporation, which should include basic information about your business, its incorporators, its registered agents, and its initial stock offering. Looking for Online Forms? We can help you submit your articles of incorporation via our secure, SSL-encrypted web portal. Take a look around our site to explore our many available fillable web forms. We look forward to helping you launch your business.

We are introduced to the most recent spring and summer 2023 men's fashion trends in Vogue each year. There is fashion that completely captivated us, whether it was on the runways, on the streets, online, or anywhere else. Men's summer fashion trends include wide-leg jeans, boldly branded shirts, and accessories. There is something that is ideal for you, whether you want to experiment with gender-neutral silhouettes or you want to add some fresh colors to your regular outfits. Bold-Brand Shirts for Men's Fashion in Vogue! When Hawaiian shirts first became popular in the 1930s, printed shirts were among the most popular options in men's spring fashion trends. These striking pieces of clothing are a wonderful way to dress up a basic outfit, such as a pair of jeans or pants. There are many different styles available from names like Louis Vuitton and Amiri. But you may also discover reasonably priced ones that offer the same impact. You can choose between a traditional style with palm trees and something slightly more graphic. Such as color blocking or being covered with logos, depending on the look you choose. Knits in Vibrant Colors! Who said knits could only be worn in chilly weather? You'll want to wear them all year round when you have outerwear like this. Consider a colorful and vibrant color instead of a standard neutral one. These hues are simple to incorporate into your existing outfit. You can, of course, choose a tight sweater, or you can try a cardigan with a light knit and a t-shirt below. Cargo shorts for Men's Summer Fashion Trend! After once being the most popular men's fashion trend, cargo has reclaimed its place as one of the season's top men's fashion in vogue trends. Of course, some people may still think they're mistakes, so this year we're here to disprove them. When dressing this divisive item of apparel, make sure the remainder of your ensemble is chic and wouldn't be mistaken for "daggy" or "uncool." This entails pulling on a sharp button-down shirt or blazer and a pair of brand-new sneakers. Checks and Plaids! Although checks are generally timeless, this season they are becoming more extravagant. This chic pattern, which ranges from a houndstooth to a plaid, is simple to include in your regular attire. You can use this idea for casual suits for men, and it will significantly improve your overall style. Depending on your preferred style, you can choose from a wide variety of checks and plaids. Some of the most common larger checks include windowpane, graph, and buffalo. Choose argyle, Black Watch, or Clan Wallace if tartan or plaid is more your style. Chunky Chains! For years, chunky chains have been on the list for women. Now it's time for the guys to try this style out! Every aesthetic is compatible with this adaptable accessory. Which can give any ensemble a Men’s Fashion Latest Ideas, Style, and Trends in 2023. It will give your outfit depth and intricacy without overdoing it. Whether it's a conventional t-shirt and jacket or streetwear clothing. Choose a design with a variety of hues, such as black, and silver, or a cluster of silver intertwined in itself. https://gupshupworld.com/?p=21361&feed_id=741

Decided to do Tabletoptober, using this prompt list by @revisitnormal and sending that to my friends each day. Now that I've sent them the final day, I'm gonna shove it all into one post.
Tumblr media
All this stuff is canon to my homebrew setting, Aleitse. Most of it is set in the Tyran Kingdom, with Periplanisi (a fey colony mostly cut off from the feywild) to the north and the Shakhte Federation (the only Underdark faction that maintains a surface presence) to the south.
Day 1: Heroes' Gluttony
This spell is a corruption of Heroes' Feast. First made by the order of a cruel duke, this spell creates an enthralling feast. The unfortunate victims eat for hours and days without rest, until either they die or the curse is broken.
Day 2: Hall of Heaven
Deep in the Underdark, in the grand palace of Valestra, is the one place where sunlight shines free. Mirrored tunnels travel miles from the surface to bring sunlight to a vast cavern known as the Hall of Heaven. It is a place of worship for those that still trust the gods, even so far from their light.
Day 3: The Divine Decree
The monarch of the Tyran Kingdom is chosen by the will of Tyr himself. His voice speaks clear to every cleric of his kingdom, declaring the name of the one who shall inherit the throne. This is the Divine Decree, first heard when Tyr spoke a kingdom into existence. He is Law, and his word is supreme. Even the bones and body of the earth bend to his command.
Day 4: The Tree of a Thousand Fruits
Hidden at the heart of the Feywild is an ever-bright glade, empty save for a grand tree. The Tree of a Thousand Fruits is resplendent, its majesty tended to by the various nature gods. Within it is knowledge of all things, and it imparts a glimpse of understanding to those that accept its gifts.
Day 5: Cleaving Blade
This greatsword courses with the energy of rivers and winds, ancient trees and crossroads. It is never built, not forged or enchanted. Instead, a fortunate adventurer will find it at the junction of two rivers or the crack that becomes a ravine, anywhere where one has been split into two. It remembers its past, and its wielder can call back its former glory.
Day 6: Duskblade
The paladins of Lathander hold their oath above all else, and one who breaks that oath is exiled from their Order. There is, however, a chance at redemption for these oathbreakers: the Duskblade. Accepting this cursed blade begins a trial that ends in death or redemption. The wielder cannot set the glaive down and it slowly drains their life, giving them only a few months to prove themself. Lathander himself watches anyone who wields the blade, and only he can break its curse.
Day 7: Pluck
Invented by a cunning thief adept in the arcane, Pluck is a simple spell that lets you quickly grab things from afar. You target an object up to 60 feet away, and it flies through the air into your hands. Popular among criminals, it's often used to snag a key off a jailer or disarm an enemy mid-combat.
Day 8: Circle
The runes that determine the destination of a teleportation circle are part of a complex language, derived from old Draconic. The basic function of the runes is always the same, but circle-scribes take great pride in developing a signature style. The various cultures of Aleitse craft circles differently: the fey of Periplanisi define where the destination is not, while the ancient Elians sought to use only a single rune, and the dwarves of Shakhte carve their runes into songs.
Day 9: The Lake
The lake is placid, perfectly still. It should be peaceful, serene, but you can feel it too, can't you? The rage, simmering deep within you, within it. You want to shout, to let this hatred pour out of you and back into the lake, but you can't. Not yet. The lake is perfectly still, but a single drop of water, a single ripple across its surface, and all that rage will come flooding out.
Day 10: Crown and Elios
Little is known about Crown, not even its location, but an Elian text speaks of four warriors being sent from Thrin to Aleitse to end a war. The arrival of these four warranted an order for the construction of 5 legions, totalling 15,000 automata, but while Elios was clearly expecting a grand battle it's unclear if it ever happened. Surely we would have found some record of it by now?
- Grand Archivist Alistair, on the fall of Elios
Day 11: The God of Rest
His kindness is felt in many ways: the warmth of the campfire as you lay to rest, and the softness of the blanket you lay on; the innkeeper that welcomes you in after a weary day, and the quiet moment that follows as that day ends; the scars of battle being forgotten in dreams, and the pain fading day after day. All things must rest, even the sun and the stars, and all rest is blessed by his divinity.
Day 12: Storm Song
The bardic magics were all born from a singular source, the primordial Storm Song. Now, a select few can learn to channel that ancient energy to great effect. Storm Song is a versatile spell, capable of producing a variety of powerful effects, but controlling it is a demanding and difficult task.
Day 13: Follyfond Coin
Follyfond coins are dangerous and powerful trinkets, given out by trickster gods as curses and boons in equal measure. When flipped, the coin pushes luck to its limit whether for good or ill. Using it is simple: you make a request, call heads or tails, and flip the coin. If you guess right your request is granted, but if you guess wrong then prepare for dire consequences.
Day 14: Drift
Drift is a simple spell, but no the less useful for it. It calms rapids and moves still water, allowing the target of the spell to drift calmly along in their desired direction. Lasting a full day, the spell is extremely useful for long travels as it ensures that even the roughest seas pose no risk.
Day 15: The Seventh Star
Known by many names across many worlds, the Seventh Star heralds its arrival with a blinding yellow light. It lends its aid to scholars and researchers, apathetic to morality and law, through strange visions and dreams. Some believe it to be a disguised god, others think it's something older and more esoteric, a primordial entity that remembers the birth of the gods.
Day 16: Bon's Nifty Necklace
Bon the alchemist is a career criminal with a wide variety of tools at her disposal, but one of her favourites is her necklace. It's enchanted to appear nonmagical but it's made of a cloth that unravels into a extradimensional space, akin to a Portable Hole. The space is two feet wide and ten deep, big enough to hold her tools and any ill-gotten gains, and it's helped her get away from quite a few heists without getting caught.
Day 17: Zulvhir the Firstborn
The archdragons of Aleitse were, if they're to be believed, the first creatures to see the land and the stars. Zulvhir holds the title of Firstborn, older than any other, and while the others die and are reborn he is truly immortal. As he was the First, so too shall he be the Last, and it is only in the shadow of a starless sky that he will die.
Day 18: The Legions
The Tyran Kingdom maintains a small standing army of four legions, one for each of the four largest cities. In peacetime each legion consists of only 71 soldiers, but in wartime the lower ranks are filled out for a total of 611 soldiers. A general leads each legion, commanding their soldiers as they see fit, only outranked by the king. This structure allows the legions to respond quickly to anything that threatens their city, but discourages cooperation on a larger scale.
Day 19: The Shakhte Federation
The Shakhte Federation owns a pair of cities, Podgor'ye and Torgovaya. These two cities act as the sole connection between the surface and the Underdark, enabling trade above and below the surface. Most metals and gems originate from the Underdark, passing through Podgor'ye, Torgovaya, and Tochka to make its way to the Tyran Kingdom and Periplánisi.
Day 20:
Two tolls were demanded: flesh and mind. One was paid, one was not. It will be paid in full. The pact was made, the promise fulfilled, and the cost was clear.
Day 21: The Revelry
A loose group of bards and musicians, the Revelry travels Aleitse with stories and songs of fantasy and adventure. When they pass through a city there's a great festival, lasting just under a week before they head out again.
Day 22: Bottle of Holding
This small bottle looks no different to your ordinary potion flask, but it is actually connected by a portal to a vault, enabling it to hold up to 25 doses of a single type of potion. You can, as a bonus action while holding the bottle, command it to drain or fill completely. Due to using teleportation magic rather than an extradimensional space, the Bottle of Holding is safe to store in Heward's Handy Haversack and other such extradimensional spaces.
Day 23: The Solstice of Planes
Records from 2500 years ago speak of the Arcane Equinox, a day in which magic surged to immense power, enabling many great feats that would now be impossible. Looking back 2500 years further, there are rare mentions of the Immaterial Solstice, as well as the prediction of a Solstice of Planes 5000 years in the future. Now, that date approaches in less than a year, and some are preparing to celebrate what may be a day of great importance.
Day 24: Body and Mind
Ancient tomes speak of two groups that aimed to become dragons: one focused on perfecting a draconic body, the other a draconic mind. The former group were based in a city on the western coast of Dracolimni, and through their research they developed a ritual that would turn them into dragons. The ritual was flawed, missing some key element, and so instead of dragons they created the dragonborn. Nothing is known about the latter group.
Day 25: Ironbark Blades
In the Feywild there exists a forest of trees with bark stronger than any steel. Due to the fey aversion to cold iron, many feywild warriors wield weapons carved from the bark of these trees, known as Ironbark blades. These blades are lighter than usual while still being as sturdy as a standard steel sword.
Day 26: The Questing House
The Adventurer's Guild in the Tyran Kingdom is run from the Questing House, a vast hall where heroes come to take quests and claim rewards. There are tables scattered about, free to use for anything from food and drink to surgeries, and the centerpiece of the hall is a long arena that sits ten feet lower than the rest of the room. The Guildleader takes that title through a trial by combat, and their duty is to step in if ever there is too great a threat.
Day 27: Feywild Dawn
The position of the sun in the Feywild is not a function of time but of place: as you travel the sun may rise and set as normal, but if you stand still the sun will never move. Thus, many of the fey courts are named after the time of day, such as the Dawn and Midnight Courts. Dawn courts are the grandest of all the courts, and archfey are born in glades bathed in dawn's light.
Day 28: Cold Iron Crown
This jagged iron crown was commissioned by Constantine Petraius, champion of the Fourth Legion of the Tyran Kingdom, 190 years ago during the war against Periplanisi. It was an evil and twisted thing. The crown burned the blood of fey, turned their skin to stone, and tore at their very souls. Constantine was driven to madness by its relentless hatred, nigh unkillable with its aid, and his bloodlust only ended when the Raven Queen herself cut his head from his shoulders.
Day 29: Jaina
A young half elf raised in Hazeldenn, Jaina took up hunting to earn money for her and her sister. A local bandit crew recruited her with the promise of wealth enough to never have to hunt again. Her first attempt at highway robbery ended with her arrest, unfortunately. Only a day after, Hazeldenn was beset by gnolls, and she fought them until she was forced to flee. Now, she helps out with rebuilding the town.
Day 30: Plane's Blood
Devils, being creatures of Law, are born through contracts. Demons, on the other hand, are born of Plane's Blood. This is the name given to the blood of a Demon Lord of a plane of the Abyss, and it is a powerful and deadly thing. A sip can burn through a person's tongue, and even diluted it stings your throat and mouth. If even a single drop is spilled in the Lord's plane it will birth a demon, and in the heat of battle hundreds might be born.
Day 31: King's Mask
One of the major flaws of illusion magic is the incorporeal nature of it, and so a bard developed a simple spell to help sell his illusions. King's Mask enabled him to transform his outfit to match his illusions, and sometimes even forgo illusions entirely. This spell is versatile, able to transform threadbare clothes into an outfit rivalling the king's or vice versa.

Best Herbs For Hydroponics Dependable And Fruitful
Best Herbs For Hydroponics Dependable And Fruitful Best Herbs For Hydroponics. One of the most rewarding crops is herbs, and the majority of them are also simple to grow. But wait, you don't even have any soil or a garden! What then is the solution? You can now accomplish it too! Simple: by using hydroponics. Herbs are especially well-suited for hydroponic gardening because they are frequently small plants, many of which grow quickly, and because they have grown to be popular even with complete beginners to hydroponics. So much so that you can now even purchase a hydroponic herb kit with everything included for a reasonable price; in fact, you have a wide selection of these. image of Best Herbs For Hydroponics Even better, try experimenting with a variety of your favorite herbs, like basil. But which herbs work best in hydroponic systems? Here are a few of the most dependable and fruitful hydroponically grown herbs to get you started: 1. Parsley 2. Basil 3. Thyme 4. Chives 5. Mint 6. Chamomile 7. Watercress 8. Sage 9. Oregano 10. Lavender Therefore, keep reading to learn how you can have these wonderful herbs ready to pick in your kitchen or anywhere else at home. 10 Of The Best Herbs For Hydroponic Growing 1. Parsley You are like parsley, goes a popular Italian proverb. Why does that matter? Simply put, you exist everywhere. And why might that be? Parsley should never be lacking in a kitchen because it can be used almost anywhere in cooking, even as a garnish. Though parsley has a flavor that is, to put it mildly, so ingrained in our culture that it is a classic, it is also more than just a herb. Due to the presence of myristicin, parsley is a natural antibacterial. It is also beneficial for maintaining strong bones and is a good source of nutrients like: - Magnesium - Potassium - Calcium - Vitamin K This Mediterranean native herb, which the Ancient Greeks also used, has another fantastic quality: after you harvest the first crop, it will grow back. and yet another time... Another herb that loses a lot of flavor and aroma if it is not fresh is parsley. Therefore, parsley is a necessity if you want to grow herbs in your hydroponic garden. Growing Advice For Parsley - The ideal nutrient remedy Parsley has a pH of 5.5. - For parsley, it is best to keep the electrical conductivity (EC) of the nutrient solution between 0.8 and 1.8. - It's not a demanding plant; all it needs is a lot of light and a warm environment to grow healthily and contently (60 to 65 oF or 16 to 18 oC is ideal, but it can also withstand temperatures as low as 10 oF or -12 oC!). - Hydroponically growing parsley from seed is simple; all you need to do is wet some rockwool cubes, place them in a tray with some water, and plant two seeds per square inch into the rockwool. After that, put the tray in a sandwich bag or something similar and watch for the baby plants to sprout. 2. Basil Basil is one of the easiest herbs to grow hydroponically, and it also happens to be one of the herbs with the freshest flavor, super rich in essential oils, synonymous with Italy, and even has its own region named after it. Furthermore, freezing or preserving basil will not be able to retain its flavor or enticing aroma unless you make pesto. Fresh basil must be consumed. The good news is that it grows quickly; you can begin tasting it less than two months after it is sown. Advice on how to grow basil - The ideal conditions for basil indoors are plenty of light, warmth, and a protected area. - By using rockwool as a growing medium, you can easily propagate bail by stem cuttings, even hydroponically. - Basil grows best in nutrient solutions with a pH of 5.5. - For basil, the electrical conductivity of the nutrient solution should fall between 1.0 and 1.6. - Pick the top leaves of your basil plant instead of the lower ones if you want it to last for a long time. If you leave some buds under the cut point, it will branch off from there. - Again, if you want to keep harvesting it, don't let it flower because once it does, it stops producing leaves and the ones it does have start to wilt and lose flavor and nutrients. In contrast to the leaves, the flowery tips are also bitter. For seeds and to allow the plant to complete its natural cycle, you may still want to let it flower at the end of its life. 3. Thyme There is an old French saying that goes, "Never two without three," or, in its original French, "jamais deux sans trois." And with two herbs that capture the entire splendor, flavor, and aroma of the Mediterranean, we could not forget the one that Odysseus smells at the start of Homer's epic poem when he awakens on the Phaeacian island of Scheria with the salt from this very sea in his hair: thyme. It is a plant that grows among rocks in the area and, unlike basil or parsley, has hard, almost woody stems. However, its tiny, oval leaves are bursting with a flavor that can elevate even the most ordinary dish to the level of haute cuisine. Additionally, thyme essential oil is more potent than tea tree oil (so much so that you always need to dilute it). It is in fact a potent natural disinfectant that is abundant in things like: - Vitamin A - Vitamin C (in huge quantities) - Copper - Iron - Manganese Thyme, in contrast to other herbs, is a perennial; it is a small shrub that will stick around for a long time. Growing Advice For Thyme - You will also save money with this plant because it requires very few nutrients. In fact, you can use half the typical dose and the plant will still grow better. In nature, this plant is accustomed to very rocky soil. - There are no issues because thyme thrives in all lighting conditions, including complete shade and full Sun. - Thyme should have an ideal electrical conductivity of 0.8 to 1.6. - The pH of the nutrient solution should range from 5.5 to 7.0. - It is a very robust and resilient plant that can be easily propagated by stem cuttings; simply cut a stem during the vegetative phase and plant it in wet rockwool. As long as you keep it reasonably moist, it will take care of the rest. - Harvesting it during the blooming stage is not advised because the leaves lose the majority of their flavor and nutritional value. Enjoy the many and lovely flowers that range from white to purple via pink, instead. Thyme is actually a lovely and delicate ornamental plant. 4. Chives The sweetest and cutest herb ever is chives, let's face it. They may be underappreciated because of their "oniony" flavor, but they are a non-invasive herb that works well in sauces and many other dishes. In terms of the time and effort you will need to invest, they are also very productive plants because of how quickly they grow. Once more, despite the fact that dried chives are "feasible," using fresh chives is much more enjoyable. Growing Guidance For Chives - They are ideal for vertical gardening in general and zip grow hydroponic towers in particular due to their shape and relatively small size and height. You can have a lot in a small area, even to share with your friends and neighbors or, if you're feeling particularly generous, to sell them for a profit. - The pH level just above 6 is ideal for chives. Keeping it steady may not be possible, but aim for a reading between 6.3 and 6.6; anything between 6.1 and 6.8 will do. - Make sure they receive at least 12 hours of bright light each day because chives love light. - Maintain the nutrient solution's electric conductivity between 1.8 and 2.4. - Even relatively abrupt temperature changes don't harm chives. They are therefore perfect for gardening outside as well. However, the ideal range is between 18 and 27 °C or 65 and 80 °F. 5. Mint Mint is more than just a herb; it's a way of thinking. Children back when I was a child were split into two groups: those who preferred lemon-flavored popsicles and those who preferred mint-flavored ones. The flavor of mint is arguably the most popular and widely used flavor in the world; it can be found in beverages, candies, sweets, jellies, salads, and even salty foods. Mint is also a very strong and generous herb; it spreads a lot for the little care it needs, grows quickly, and is nearly disease-free. Mint, which is abundant in essential oils, has many health-promoting qualities in addition to giving you fresh breath: - It treats indigestion and aids in food digestion. - It has anti-nausea properties and can even be used to prevent motion sickness on boats and in airplanes. - It promotes efficient and quick brain function. - It manages IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) - Women can use it to ease the discomfort of breastfeeding. Growing Advice For Mint - Mint enjoys sunlight just like most other herbs. Make sure it receives between 12 and 16 hours of light each day if you have it indoors. An East to South facing position is ideal if you're outside. - Mint can be grown in a pH range of between 5.5 and 6.5. - For mint, the ideal range of electrical conductivity for your nutrient solution is 2.0–2.4. - Mint prefers nighttime air that is both fresh and warm—ideally, between 50 and 55 °F, or 10 and 13 °C. Temperatures range from 13 to 21 degrees Celsius (55 to 70 oF) during the day. The plant will stop growing if the temperature rises above 85°, or 29°C. - When mint is rooting, it enjoys humidity as well; you should maintain it between 70 and 75% humidity during this time. If you are growing your mint plants from cuttings, it needs to be even higher: between 85 and 90%. 6. Chamomile How many wonderful dreams has chamomile given us? Even the name of this herb has a calming and comforting sound. If you've ever had the good fortune to come across a chamomile field, even a wild one, you'll know that it is a sign of tranquility. It is only fair that the image of a sleeping child with a smile on their face comes to mind whenever we think of this herb. This plant, which was used by the Ancient Egyptians, has gained popularity all over the world as a natural sedative and sweet-flavored home remedy to calm our nerves after a demanding and annoying day at work. Additionally, growing chamomile at home will provide you with a constant and ongoing source of aromatherapy. This herb's aroma alone has powerful calming effects, and simply having it around your home and family can promote calmness and relaxation. Stunning flowers, too! Growing Advice For Chamomile - Chamomile also enjoys the sun, but it can function with just four hours of light each day. For this plant, a south-facing location is ideal. If you use grow lights, this plant also needs to take a nap; it requires a solid eight hours of darkness each night to sleep. - This herb prefers a temperature range of 60 to 68oF, or 15 to 20oC. - In colder climates, growing chamomile outdoors will cause it to dry up, but in warmer regions, it is an evergreen plant. - Avoid damaging the plant when you harvest the flowers; use a small, sharp, and (importantly) disinfected knife to prevent disease from spreading; and wipe it with alcohol to get rid of germs and other pathogens. The ideal tool would be a pruning or grafting knife. 7. Watercress Watercress is a natural hydroponic herb that grows naturally in clear, fresh streams and rivulets. It is not only suitable for or adaptable to hydroponics. These days, you can find this herb, which has a tangy peppery flavor and grows quickly and strongly, on the salad shelves next to the lettuce in many supermarkets. Watercress is an Asian herb, as opposed to the majority of the herbs we use, which originate from the Mediterranean, although it is now widely cultivated in both Europe and the United States. It is considered a "super food" by many because it is so rich and nutritious; in fact, it is loaded with: - Vitamin A - Vitamin C - Vitamin K - Calcium - Manganese - Antioxidants - 40 different types of flavonoids! In fact, research demonstrates that it is among the world's best sources of antioxidants. Since watercress is so full of healing compounds, it can be used to... - avert some cancer types. - Its effects on the condition of your heart are astounding. - It guards against osteoporosis in people. - Your immune system is strengthened. - It may even result in weight loss. Are you certain you want to forgo it? Watercress Growing Advice - The simplest thing in the world is hydroponically propagating watercress. Simply take a stem cutting, submerge the lower portion of the cutting in the nutrient solution, and it will start to grow roots in a matter of days. - The simplest thing in the world is hydroponically propagating watercress. Simply take a stem cutting, submerge the lower portion of the cutting in the nutrient solution, and it will start to grow roots in a matter of days. - The pH range for nutrient solutions is 6.5 to 6.8. - Its ideal growth temperature is between 77 and 86 °F, or 25 and 30 °C, but it can tolerate temperatures outside of this specific range, especially below, down to 46 °F, or 8 °C. - The nutrient solution should have a low electrical conductivity of between 0.4 and 1.8 for watercress. 8. Sage Sage itself conjures up thoughts of aridity, but you'll be surprised to learn that it can be grown hydroponically and with relative ease as well. This herb, which has velvety leaves and very hard, dry stems as well as a flavor all its own, can actually grow with only a small amount of nutrient solution feeding the roots. Even the most uninteresting casserole can be transformed into a rich, flavorful dish fit for a king by adding this herb, which can be used fresh or dried. However, there's more. it is abundant in essential oils and full of: - Vitamins A and K - Beta-carotene - Folate - Phosphorus - Potassium - Magnesium As a result, it also has a lot of advantages for your health, such as: - It works wonders for oral hygiene and is a natural disinfectant. With its leaves, you can actually brush your teeth. - It improves memory and promotes healthy brain function. - The harmful LDL cholesterol is reduced. - Some cancers may even be prevented with its help. Growing Advice For Sage - The nutrient solution's pH value should range from 5.5 to 6.0. - Sage needs at least 12 hours of light per day, both inside and outside, and it adores the sun. - It also prefers extremely warm temperatures, ideally between 75 and 85 °F (24 to 30 °C) during the day and above 60 °F at night (or 16oC). - Sage has an ideal electrical conductivity range of 1.0 to 1.6. - If you grow it indoors, in a greenhouse, etc., keep the humidity low and ventilate the space frequently. 9. Oregano Oregano, another Mediterranean flavor, enhances any dish that includes tomatoes. Although oregano is most frequently used dried, it can also be eaten fresh. This herb thrives in warm, well-lit environments where it can develop its beneficial essential oils. - This herb also has a high antioxidant content. - It improves breathing, and you can even use it to ward off the flu and cold symptoms. - It has inflammatory-reducing qualities. - It might possess antiviral qualities. - It is being investigated as a possible cancer-fighting herb. Oregano adapts well to hydroponics despite having a dry appearance and coming from a dry environment. For your hydroponic gardens, it also has one more advantage: aphids can't stand the scent, so it acts as a natural pest control. Oregano Growing Advice - The ideal pH range for oregano is between 6.0 and 8.0. In fact, you can frequently find it in extremely alkaline soil in the wild, such as clay. - The ideal range for oregano's electrical conductivity is between 1.5 and 2.0. - Oregano prefers temperatures between 55 and 70 °F, or 13 and 21 °C. - If you are growing it outdoors, give it plenty of light in either full sun or part shade. Use LED grow lights with a long light cycle, between 12 and 14 hours per day, if you are growing it indoors. 10. Lavender The most powerful herb, actually... One of the most priceless plants Mother Nature has given us is lavender. If you've ever taken a stroll through a lavender field in Southern France, Italy, or Spain, you can't have missed their magical beauty. vast purple oceans with waves that, upon closer inspection, are alive with life! When it comes to attracting butterflies, bees, bumble bees, and other insects, I believe lavender is unrivaled. They can be seen twirling in the scent of this particularly feminine plant and blending their own, some might say "spiritual," hue with that of lavender. Since the Pharos built temples in Ancient Egypt, this plant has been our devoted companion and is used in food, soap, ceremonies, and even medicine. And right now lavender is experiencing a comeback and has also entered the hydroponics industry. Why has this plant played such a significant role in our history? Simply put: - It has excellent calming and unwinding qualities. - It induces sound sleep and soothes frazzled nerves. - It has fungus-fighting abilities. - It slows heartbeats and lowers blood pressure. - It deals with menopausal hot flashes. - It works as a natural pain reliever. - It lessens the effects of asthma symptoms. - It can even be used to treat skin imperfections. - A recent study demonstrates that it stimulates hair growth. Lavender Growing Advice - Keep lavender plants about 3 feet, or 1 meter, apart because they can grow into fairly large shrubs. Additionally, unless you choose a dwarf variety and still make sure it receives plenty of fresh air, it is not suitable for indoor gardening. - The only systems that lavender can grow successfully in are drip, aeroponic, and ebb and flow systems. Additionally, avoid overwatering your plants because they prefer dry conditions. - This plant requires a lot of light, at least 6 hours per day of direct sunlight (or a powerful LED light). - For lavender, the pH of the nutrient solution should range from 6.4 to 6.8. - Maintain a dry, well-ventilated environment because humidity can seriously affect the health of your lavender plants. - Lavender prefers warm climates; it will thrive in conditions above 18 oC, or 65 oF. It will also withstand extremely high temperatures, but your plants' quality will suffer and the amount of essential oils you get will be less. - Maintain the nutrient solution's electrical conductivity between 1.0 and 1.4. With hydroponics, you can now grow herbs in your own garden at home. Apart from being used for cooking, cleaning, and even perfumes, herbs have always been connected to magic; Shamans and Druids have used them for this purpose since the beginning of time. People have even been tortured and killed for using herbs to heal themselves and their neighbors; they were dubbed "witches" and accused of using a "unnatural" energy. However, nothing is more natural than actual herbs. They are a gift from nature, perhaps a gateway to a transcendental encounter that brings about healing, tranquility, and well-being. Of course, they also smell and taste good. And don't worry if you don't have a kitchen garden but are aware of how beneficial herbs are to your health, quality of life, and the flavor of the food you serve your guests. A simple hydroponic kit on top of the refrigerator can be a good place to start if you want to transform your entire kitchen into a practical, eye-catching, and above all, fragrant herb garden. FAQ Best Herbs For Hydroponics What herbs grow well together in hydroponics? Best Herbs to Grow in a Hydroponic System Some of my favorites include basil, thyme, mint, and parsley. Cilantro, oregano, sage, lemon balm, chamomile, and watercress are also herbs that are known to do well grown hydroponically. Read the full article

Travel to the USA: Locations, Transportation and More
The United States of America has it all, from the gleaming lakes of Minnesota to the limitless mountains of the Pacific Northwest. We are grateful to live in the "Land of the Free." And, while we may be prejudiced, we feel it is a place that both visitors and nationals should visit. Here we will provide the complete and basic guide for your travel to the USA. Most people visit the United States for a brief vacation and just visit one or two places, but there is so much more to see and do here! From the national parks to the streets of New Orleans, our country has a range of geography, culture, food, and experiences that tourists would be hard pushed to discover anywhere else. A road trip is one of the finest ways to see this vast nation (and our personal favourite mode of transportation!). Join us as we share our USA travel ideas, road trip guidance, and vanlife experiences.)
Important facts about the United States
The United States in a Nutshell: Each area of the United States has its unique culture, which might feel as if you've taken a plane to the other side of the planet so everyone should once in their lifetime travel to the usa. There's the Pacific Northwest with its mountains and driftwood-strewn beaches, while California has its own style with geographical variety that rivals whole countries. More mountains, deserts, and adventure await you in the west. The south is famed for its hot, humid summers and short, dry winters, while the Northeast is ideal for fall leaf peeping. Not to mention the Midwest, with its wealth of lakes and woods. Oh, and the leaf peeping isn't too awful too! The United States Dollar (USD) is the official currency of the United States. Credit Cards/ATMs: Credit cards are frequently utilized, although cash is less prevalent but still commonly accepted. Note: Unlike in other countries, it is usual for your waitress to remove your credit card from the table while they charge your account. Tipping in the United States: The United States has a large tipping culture, with 20% being the standard tip for good service in a restaurant, bar, or other place of business. However, 15% is plenty. Always look at your receipt to see if service is included your bill or not. So when you travel to the usa always keep in mind to tipping culture.
The Places to Travel In USA
The following are the most popular destinations to visit in the United States: - The majority of first-time visitors to the United States visit New York City. - The National Parks in the United States are some of the most stunning displays of nature on the planet. - From Los Angeles to San Francisco, and pretty much everywhere else in the state, California has a distinct pull (including the famed Yosemite National Park) - Music fans will flock to Nashville, Tennessee. - Mardi Gras will be celebrated in New Orleans, Louisiana. - Those searching for a good time should visit Las Vegas. - And, of course, there's the Pacific Northwest, which is home to two of our favorite states, Washington and Oregon.
Transportation in the United States
Public Transportation: Public transportation in the United States varies by city, however most cities have a metro system or buses. Taxis: Taxis in major US cities are metered, with charges ranging between $2 and $3 per mile. This is a costly mode of transportation, therefore we recommend ride sharing instead. Ride Sharing: Ride-hailing services such as Lyft and Uber are convenient and safe ways to move about a city. Many cities also have some sort of bike sharing or electric scooter rental scheme. Tip: Before committing to a trip, download both Lyft and Uber and map out your route to compare pricing. Pricing will often be relatively comparable, but you may receive significantly varying prices on different apps. Bus: Taking the bus is one of the cheapest methods to travel across the country, especially between states. Check out these popular bus companies' routes and rates: - Megabus - Greyhound - Boltbus - Flixbus Flying: While it is the shortest method to travel, unlike in other regions of the world, flying inside the United States may be quite expensive. To check airline prices and locate the cheapest deals, use ticket comparison websites such as Kayak or Skyscanner. Tip: When travelling on popular low-cost airlines like Spirit or Frontier, make sure you read the fare regulations carefully because there are generally a lot of hidden extras and the ticket price only includes the bare minimum. Southwest, JetBlue, and the big three: Delta, United, and American are more dependable. Rail: Amtrak is the train operator that operates across the United States; nevertheless, it is neither the quickest nor the most cost-effective means to travel across the country. They are, however, changing their routes, so you could discover one that works for you. Renting a Vehicle/Campervan: Renting a car or campervan is one of the greatest methods to travel around the United States since you'll be able to see so much more of the scenery.
When is the best time to visit the United States?
The temperature and weather in a big country like the United States can vary greatly from place to place. This indicates that there is no poor time to visit the United States, but you should be more selective about your schedule based on your chosen destination(s) inside the country. With the exception of the southern United States, which is often warmer year-round, most of the country experiences all four seasons. Summers in the northern hemisphere endure from June to August, winters from November to March, and spring and autumn fall in between. If you visit the northern United States during the winter, be prepared for frigid (and often below freezing) conditions! Similarly, during the summer months, it may get exceedingly hot in the south. To have a better sense of what to anticipate during your vacation, we recommend researching the climate of your desired destination. Tourist season: The tourist season varies depending on where you are going. Crowds might be expected if you plan your trip around a significant holiday or event. Time to avoid travelling to USA: School holidays are traditionally when most families in the US have the opportunity to travel, so locations, particularly kid-friendly sites, will be more crowded. All national bank holidays are included, as well as the summer months (mid-June through August), the week between Christmas and New Years, and occasionally a mid-fall vacation in October. Related Article: Travel to Europe: Activities, Accommodation and Tips National Holidays in the United States: - Thanksgiving is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November. - Christmas Day is December 25th. - March 17th is St. Patrick's Day (not considered a bank holiday in the US) - Memorial Day is observed on the final Monday of May. - July 4th is Independence Day. - Labor Day is celebrated on the first Monday of September. - Halloween is on October 31st (not considered a bank holiday in the US)
