But - rolling his neck, carefully, Dee bit down hard on a wince. Then tried to finish that thought he'd had. "How - how strong do you make those special orders? Like..." He straightened a little, shoulders squaring. "Say I -" need, "- could use some mellowing out." Sounded better than hurting less. "But I've got shit to do, later. I don't wanna get totally knocked down, just..." he wavered, his bad hand, what'd been his good hand, before, circling in the air like the right words might be drifting by on that seabreeze. "It'd be real nice, to sand some of the edges off. You know?"

It is written in Benny's bio that his half sibling is 6 years younger, so they would be 26.

BACKGROUND:

For a more complete picture, please refer to Benny's bio which can be viewed here. ( friendly warning, it's a lot to read 😭 I suggest focusing on reading whats in the read more, as 'the present' isn't necessarily part of his bio, just what he's been up to since moving to Stillwater! ) Otherwise, here's a quick rundown on what you need to know! tw child abuse, domestic violence, violence, bodily harm, parental death, infidelity 

Before your character was born, Benny had been experiencing all sorts of abuse from their father for as long as he could remember. It was only when your character came into their lives that things started to change. Arne, their father, didn't drink as much or yell, and did his best to only smoke outside. It seemed as though having a baby girl was the key to some peace in their family. 

All was well until your character was around the age of 5 that everything changed. There was a suspicion of an affair occurring between their mother Ulla and another man some time ago, but Arne never really addressed it. ( That part in Benny's bio is implied, so you're more than welcome / encouraged to address it in your bio, but there were some rumors going about their neighborhood that Ulla was having an affair which is why Arne had his suspicions! )They were having dinner one night when your character's birth father came to their home to speak to Ulla, which solidified the affair in Arne's mind. 

This is implied as well, ( and moving forward, anything that is implied in Benny's bio is up for grabs to elaborate on!! ) but because they never really spoke about what was going on, Arne let his imagination run wild and decided to take whatever he thought was going on to allow him to become abusive again towards everyone in the house ( whether or not his suspicions were right! he never asked Ulla and just assumes! ) 

Following that night, your character started to experience Arne's abuse for the first time. What she experienced is implied, I mentioned in Benny's bio that he heard her crying a lot for small mistakes. Five years later ( your character is 10! ) Ulla decides its time to leave Arne. I mention in Benny's bio that he comes home after school to see all of your characters belongings gone. ( Feel free to decide whether or not Ulla takes her out of school to go somewhere else, or she never goes to school, etc! )He immediately tells their mother when she comes home, and only tells him "You'll know soon enough." Again, it's implied, but she had originally planned to bring Benny to wherever she took your character later that night. ( Ulla could've taken your character to their birth father, a friend of hers, grandmother, etc! )

Around dinner time, Arne realizes your character is no where to be found and immediately starts jumping to conclusions. He starts getting physically abusive towards Ulla and Benny goes dark. Without realizing, he beats his father to death, which causes Ulla's plan to leave him to fall through. She ends up packing his belongings and orders him to leave Ohio and to never to return home. She orders him to start his life over and to never look back. 

As I mentioned before, what happened to your character, where they ended up, what happened to Ulla and their father's body, why they came to Stillwater is totally up to you and I'm excited to hear what you come up with!

SPN Characters and their Favorite (or least favorite) Social Media sites

Claire: Snapchat. It lets her family know that she's fine (thank you very much) and she only has to give them ten seconds of her time before they get the gist.

Jack: It is a toss up between Tumblr and Snapchat. On Tumblr, he finds some really cool posts and stories about his favorite shows (he didn't know other people were as passionate about Rae and Finn from My Mad Fat Diary as he was!) but with Snapchat he gets to be a disco cat.

Dean: Facebook groups are a decent way to talk with hunters but pass it off as LARPing should someone report a concerning comment, but Snapchat is one of the only ways Claire will actually talk to any of them so he gets on there the most. Also, disco cats are cool. He gets on Instagram but only follows Castiel on there.

Sam: Twitter has the best news sources and he can make sure his feed stays bipartisan. He avoids Facebook, but checks Facebook Messenger constantly.

Castiel: Definitely an Instagram man. He enjoys taking pictures of the burgers Dean insists on making him as well as the feral cat that hangs around outside of the bunker. Scruffy has become quite the internet sensation.

Mary: Facebook, partly because she can friend her old friends she had back before she died and pass herself off as her own niece. It's a good way to see a timeline of sorts regarding what she missed. She ends up unfriending the ones who are apparently quite racist now.

John: Why would he get on Social Media when he likes maybe 6 people max? He did find his mother on Facebook the short time he was on there though. Every time she posted on his timeline, she wrote it and signed off like a letter. John thought it was sweet, but mostly embarrassing so he disabled his account. When she called and asked why she couldn't find his page, he said he was hacked but then had to explain what hacking was.

Charlie: Tumblr. Enough said.

AU Charlie: Yeah, same.

Maggie: Still bummed that she missed out on Vine. Does YouTube count?

Lucifer: Twitter is definitely his least favorite. He wasn't surprised that a new president came into the White House after he infiltrated it but for someone who doesn't feel guilt, he does feel a little guilty about Trump. His tweets we're amusing at first, but COME ON. Even Lucifer knows when to shut up...eventually.

Bobby: He's one of the Hunter Facebook Group admins. John Winchester's request to join stayed in the pending queue until John deleted his account.

AU Bobby: Runs the rival Facebook group. Declined John Winchester's request to join every single time.

Garth: Snapchat, so he can make dog jokes with the puppy filter and pretend to be a scary werewolf. RAWR.

Crowley: Snapchat is definitely his least favorite. Why is he getting scary werewolf snaps from someone named Garth at 3 am?

Gabriel: Instagram, so that he can share pics of Monte Carlo and make people jealous over the fact that they don't have porn star friends.

Benny: Found a good Facebook support group for sober vampires. Thought about inviting Sam as a cruel joke but didn't want to make Dean mad.

Ketch: LiveJournal. Got to keep an eye on the Russians.

Kevin: YouTube has good conspiracy videos. Sometimes he finds himself believing them if he hasn't had enough sleep.

Rowena: Tumblr is an excellent way to connect with the wiccan community, as well as find orgies going on in her area!

Alex: Snapchat, if only for the fact that she can keep an eye for Claire check-ins, although Tumblr does have some medical nerds she can appreciate.

Patience: Social Media is distracting and her life is too filled with drama as it is. She's deleted her apps until further notice.

Kaia: Snaps disappear after a while so Kaia finds comfort in Snapchat. She also likes Claire's snaps...a lot. Especially the ones they send back and forth late at night.

Dark Kaia: The sound of her spear hitting against the bark of a tree is better than any status, tweet, or snap.

Jody: Snapchat because it embarrasses the girls.

Donna: Twitter seems to be the most useful way to let the citizens of Stillwater know what's afoot! But also Snapchat because it REALLY embarrasses the girls.

Eileen: Facebook, since it has video chat in messenger and sometimes she goes a while without seeing Sam in person.

. » TASK TWO: STYLE & AESTHETIC

While Benny isn't the most stylish guy in Stillwater, he's one of the types who stick to 'tried and trues.' Over the years, he's relied on white tees and jeans to get him through his shifts at the diner, always rocking his only pair of black Converse. As he's gotten older, he's learned what works for him and what doesn't, mostly due to the friends he relies on. Without them, he'd barely have a wardrobe, that's for sure!

BENNYS MUST HAVES: While accessorizing tends to be a skill that goes over Benny's head, he actually has a few items he tends to sport on most days. He's never without a watch, already having two in his possession that he's contemplating on growing into an actual collection. He's liked how it looks on him (certainly after taking long looks in the mirror to make sure) but only wears his black leather one at work.

YOU'LL ALWAYS FIND HIM IN: ...jeans and a white t-shirt! It's out of the ordinary to find Benny in clothing that's actually trendy (unless it was gifted to him). He has found it incredibly easy to adopt a uniform for his day-to-day life, comfortable with the fact that he won't be known for what he wears. He's simple and practical, always leaning to whatever's the easiest.

THE SIMPLER, THE BETTER: A limited closet means limited colors, and for Benny, that's okay! You'll usually find him in denim blue, white, black, brown, and occasionally red. He's not a big fan of bright and bold colors, which makes him easy to shop for.

There he was, the music man himself, mastermind of this whole deal. Beaming, Dee swerved to Roger's booth. The place was packed with real happy customers, loading up; but Dee, he wasn't after souvenirs. So he paced his way through most of the Jack and coke he'd been sipping down the boardwalk, flicking idly through the records and merch. Until another set turned heads and sent most of the browsers scattering off to the stage. Left in the lull, he tossed Roger a smile, swung that Gibson safely around against his front - the bare guitar, the damn case had given up the ghost that morning and gone right to pieces - and took a grateful lean against the nearest shelf.

(Could feel the last couple days all the way up his goddamn spine, and then some. Maybe he'd find Billie, in a bit; see if she'd burn one down. Too late, for anything Benny might still have on hand - he wasn't gonna meet Elly absolutely blazed, after the Travelodge finally let her go again.)

"So. Day Three. Business seems pretty sweet, hey?" Booming like the speakers. He'd spun a finger after that flock of fans, who'd be back, no doubt. "How's it feel, man? To be the badass who built the festival that rocked Stillwater."

BACKGROUND:

As I started playing out Benny, I realized how much important his connection is to the owner of Ruby’s! He has a lot to be grateful for thanks to your muse and its entirety is mentioned here in his bio… but the long story short is that Benny had a rough couple of years when he first got to Stillwater. He definitely would’ve ended up in a ditch somewhere if it wasn’t for your character taking him in to work for them. I mentioned in one of Benny’s threads that Ruby’s needed a baker at the time, and even though Benny could hardly cook for himself, your character taught them everything they needed to know. Benny is incredibly grateful and in debt to them, and will do anything they need at the drop of a hat. 

IF, however, the owner of Ruby's Diner is taken— their relationship would still remain the same. The only difference (or add on) to this connect would be your character retiring his role in the diner to do something different. I've HC'd that your character wanted / encouraged Benny to take over, but because he couldn't afford it, it was out of his hands. Still, despite the diner being under someone else, the two would remain close.

When & Where: "Birch Bay Beach" ...nearing midnight!

The night was cold. The breeze that passed felt like the edge of a sword. It felt like ice— wet, almost. Benny looked out towards the water, the horizon far gone to show the sky and ocean becoming one. There's peace here. It's always here. It was hard to imagine that sixteen years had passed by just like that. And yet, here he was, staring at that same horizon with his converse digging into the cold sand. The only difference this time was that his head was screwed on a little bit tighter, but he was still as foolish as he always was. He stifled the laugh begging to come out of him, finding his feelings of absolute fear painfully ironic. How in the world was he just as scared as the day he arrived in Stillwater? He didn't understand why. Back then... Benny was the— Well, the point is that he wasn't the killer on the loose. He knew that, and his friends knew that (at least, he hoped), so why did it feel like his past was coming back to haunt him? Why did it feel like this killer was here just for him? Benny thought he would find answers in the place he left them but was left with nothing in return. Checking his watch, he realizes the time. He calls it a night, but before he can return to his car, he hears mumbling voices from afar. He turns to find two girls huddling together, pausing when one meets Benny's gaze. When the other catches on, she shrieks, grabbing the other's hand to run in the opposite direction. Benny's brows knit together, turning to see if someone else was behind him but was met with no one in sight. He doesn't know what to make of it, but as he continues his way back onto the boardwalk, it clicks. Fucking hell.

49. Do they have a creative outlet? If so, what is it?

Benny hasn't always been a creative person. He barely had a creative bone in his body until he learned how to cook, even more so when he started baking. Over time, he's learned to be more intentional with what he makes, aesthetics taking more importance as the years go on. It's hard to say whether or not this is an outlet, but he's learned to take advantage of whatever is serving him since he's at Ruby's more than any other place in Stillwater.
