Steve grabbed a fry from Douxie's tray. It was a habit for him to pour them all out next to his burger.

And it was a habit for Steve to steal them. He quickly stuffed one into his mouth. When he reached for another one, Douxie pulled his tray away.

"I asked you if you wanted to order some for yourself," he said.

Steve scoffed. "I don't want that many. I just want some of yours."

Douxie squinted at him. He pushed his tray back into it's position.

"Can I get a sip of your shake, then?"

Steve paused. "Yeah," he answered, hesitant. He grabbed his cup and pointed it towards Douxie.

Douxie touched Steve's hand to bring it closer. The contact made him blush, his eyes focused on Douxie's lips as his boyfriend started to drink from the straw.

...But then he didn't stop. Soon a few sips turned into Douxie desperately trying to suck as much out of the thin straw as he could.

Steve swiped the milkshake away from him quickly. He shook his head in disbelief, "Okay, okay, I get it!"

Douxie laughed, loud and contagious. It made Steve chuckle sheepishly.

"I'm sorry," Douxie said through his grin. He handed his boyfriend one last fry.

What if Steve was Douxie's gay awakening? The moppet might've seen Steve as this cool knight who can do cool things and unlike all of the other knights, Steve didn't hate magical people. Even though the moppet ended up forgetting a lot of what happened due to time travel, he probably ended up remembering vague details about a cool, axe-wielding knight.

Depending on if you ship modern!Douxie/Steve or not, when modern!Douxie travels back in time and sees the moppet swooning over Steve, modern!Douxie is either thinking "what do you mean THAT was my type back then???" or "pity that he has a girlfriend 🥺"

I feel like post-Wizards Stouxie could easily start with Steve forgetting about time zones and venting about his biological dad over text to Douxie. Douxie is normally cool with being someone to vent to but he really wants to sleep because it’s 3 AM in NYC so he's like “hey listen to this playlist I made.” He intends to send Steve the playlist he made for his complicated feelings over Merlin, but instead Douxie sends Steve a playlist of romantic emo songs.
