Been a tad busy lately. Good news: had the most lovely vacation. Terrible news: my kitty started having seizures midway into the vacay. Very scary, but we took her to the emergency room and vet and she's on medication that seems to have stabilized her. Leading theory- might be cat epilepsy. I give her lots of head pats, and she seems back to her normal (ish) self. ❤️

Super Mario 3D World contains an unlockable version of Mario Bros. (particularly the NES version) that replaces Mario with a second Luigi, called "Luigi Bros."
Curiously, the Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury files for Luigi Bros. contain lists of cheat codes for four NES games: The Legend of Zelda, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, Metroid, and Kid Icarus. There is obviously no way to activate these codes as the games themselves are missing, and no codes for Mario/Luigi Bros. itself (or any other Mario games) are included.

Despite their appearance, Fury Shadows are NOT actually Luigi. Why do they look like Luigi? I don’t know! Why don’t you ask them?
Oh, sorry, It’s in Ball Form right now. Please leave a message. Regular Luigi doesn’t go in Ball Form all that often, which is an easy way to tell them apart. Usually, you can also tell them apart because Fury Shadows are made of black goop and have piercing red eyes, but the ball form is more reliable, in case the real Luigi has been wallowing in crude oil while wearing colored contacts.
Fury Shadows like to be On The Move! Trying not to get got. They are a lot like Shadow Mario, running away with a Shine, needing Mario to chase them down and bop them a bunch to get it. With how Sunshine-inspired Bowser’s Fury is, it is pretty much absolutely a reference to Shadow Mario! I just must ask, why Luigi? Because it’s funnier? I think it’s funnier. Is that why, Fury Shadow?
Aw, nuts. Ball Form again. They will enter Ball Form after each hit, no doubt incubating their Luigi Form in there, before Luiging once more. I would think this spiky form would be more effective at not being hit, but I don’t think that’s their style. I think they’re Cheeky!
If Mario takes too long to chase them, Fury Shadows will stop to taunt him. You just got Luigi’d! I think this is all a game to them. Even the most evil of Luigis likes to have fun.
Fury Shadow also brings to mind Gooigi! They just love making gelatinous Luigis these past few years! I think it would be funny if these just slowly but surely became a permanent fixture of the Mushroom Kingdom. Liquid Luigis becoming as ubiquitous as Toads and Yoshis. A Luigi made of sap, waving to you from the sidelines of Maple Treeway.
And if you find that thought to be more unsettling than charming?

I have a new crushing need:
Fury! Bowser and Cat! Luigi. Junior's there and the Koopaling's presence is greatly preferred but not a deal breaker. I've recently played 3D World then Bowsers Fury and cannot get the mental image out of my head of this colossal, halfway to feral angry monster /viciously/ protecting his little island-bound family from any perceived threats. I've always liked the thought that Bowser's rage at being beaten once again was what triggered the change, not the goop. And although a Cat suited (as most everything is on these islands, what are you talking about, this isn't me being self indulgent) Luigi (and Junior and maybe the other Koopalings) might not be able to get him back to normal, he is still so gentle and protective when interacting with who he knows to the core is his family.
Basically Fury Bowser is the COOLEST visually .
And cat Luigi is adorable
I'd like to say that this need has been reignited and amplified after reading @akibouken 's fic, where they use Fury Bowser (on a smaller scale), ALSO feral in the same rage-induced way and it is so GOOD.

Top: Fury Shadows are Luigi-shaped shadow beings that must be fought in the Bowser’s Fury mode of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury to obtain specific Cat Shines. Normally, they have red glowing eyes.
Bottom: when the Fury Shadow at Crisp Climb Castle is fought, it will perform Spin Jumps as it jumps between ice floes. During these jumps, its eyes disappear, and the inside of its head can be seen through its empty eyeholes in Snapshot Mode.
