To anyone watching Only Friends and thinking "wow these people are all terrible to each other and awful, I don't like this show, why do these people even call each other friends" I would like to congratulate you on not having an insular friend group in your early 20s that was all a little too obsessed and in love with each other but also sometimes hated each other instead, where everyone was sleeping with someone (or multiple someones) and on the fact that you probably never had to hang a sign on your apartment door that said "no drama llamas allowed" when you had a party because all your friends were messy bitches and you knew someone was going to end up in a fight and/or naked before long

I would personally like to thank all the gen x and elder millennials who allowed me to be the “kid” in all of my favorite fandom spaces 15+ years ago because lord knows if I was anything like the youth in some of my newer fandoms I should have been blocked by at least 2/3 of my faves

Every day I am more and more upset I didn’t write that research paper on parasocial relationships in social media a whole decade ago.
