I need to know why people are so determined to probe parents and grandparents ‘wrong’ about the things they know about their kids/grandkids
My kid likes puzzles. Loves them, in fact. Does 48-63 piece puzzles for fun. Some nights they will do puzzles for 1-2 hours. Sometimes they’ll start a puzzle, walk away, and come back to finish it later.
Not only did my mother and I have to fight with the daycare workers in her room to show them that yes, this two year old does do advanced puzzles and loves them. Now my mom has people who are in my kids room like, once in a blue moon, telling her that she’s wrong about my kid loving and being good at puzzles because ‘i never see them do them’
Like… stfu.
I get you’re paid to care for my kid two days a week but i’m a SAHP. I see what they do the vast majority of the time.
If i’m saying ‘my kid likes puzzles’ i friggen mean it

have you read the lost sisters novella? if you have, has it changed your perspective on taryn in any way?
Yes I have! And I guess it has changed my perspective slowly over time, but how I feel about her still hasn’t changed you know? I’ve never liked her but now I understand why she does the things she does. She’s a lost, terrified, fragile, and naive mortal just as Jude was, and probably a little more so. She was as determined to fall in love/find love as Jude was determined on becoming a knight.
Although I don’t hate her anymore, it doesn’t mean I like her. Understanding her didn’t make her more interesting or likable imo, but the shitty things she does make sense.
In the end I dislike her less, but I don’t like her more than I did before. I’m not on a pro or anti Taryn side. I just never really cared about her character altogether.

I'm on a third book of folk of the air series and never wanted to slice someone into tiny pieces this much. Taryn and locke are pissing me off so much. Jude can't catch a break, the older sister is completely disinterested in anything, even about their sisters well being and even treats her gf stupidly, thinks she can get her back any time doesn't matter what she does and then there's Taryn who is so infuriating. How Jude handles them at all 😭 and then there's cardan too who's hot and has problems and all, but also pisses me off. my girl deserves better fr

I spent like the entire time sam and I were dating being so proud of my family and how accepting they were of sam and I and letting us make our own choices about whatever and just were so supportive and a great encouragement and now that we’re getting married it’s actually extremely depressing how unsupportive they’re being and how it’s about them and what they want and how things are “supposed” to go regardless of what sam and I want

Just saw a post saying that Scarlett Dragna conforms to gender roles and that Tella should’ve been the protagonist isn’t of Scarlett and compared her to Taryn because she wanted that marriage and wanted to be safe from her father. Because she wanted safety over living for danger like tf?! Like did we miss the part where she though the only thing that can save her was this marriage? What I first liked about Scarlett was that she wanted safety, she wasn’t in a position do to whatever she wants, if she did than her father would punish her sister. She had never known safety and she wanted that first. Everytime she agrees to this marriage is when she’s trying to protect someone she loves. She marrying in the first place so the count can take Scarlett and her sister away from their abusive dad and the other time was when she was trying to protect Julian, her way of protecting them might not be with fighting but she’s still do it and I applaud her for it and love her for it. And she realizes that that’s not what all life’s about, that’s it’s not just about being safe but also living and that’s called character development
They also said that Stephenie was trying to brainwash teenage girls by making them think that following the rules and conforming to gender roles. Like what? I don’t much about Stephenie Garber and the Caraval series since I just started reading them but one of the things I love about Scarlett and Eva is that they’re kind of traditionally feminine, Scarlett wants to get married to a man who can protect her from her father and Eva just wants to find her one true love, she loves to dress up and favorite thing about her self is her rose gold hair and she likes to dress up and stuff and I love that about her. (like me) I relate to her so much on that level. I love they’re traditional feminine and they aren’t being punished for it.
So anyways that’s my rant, I just want peoples to stop bashing female characters for wanting traditional female things or wanting what’s typically feminine. Like if you want a badass sword fighting women than go read some other book, this one isn’t for you. Women are allowed to liked things that apparently conform to gender roles, just let them like what they want.

Which mutuals ocs would get along with your ocs? Which wouldn't? (Please Pass along the question)
Ok so I’m gonna try my best here, pls bear with me as I try to keep this short🥲
1. First off, there’s our ocs which we’ve discussed before~ I think Archer and Jab could get along to a certain extent and share some stories of like their creation and first impressions of humans the like. Ummm maybe I should leave it at that before this becomes an essay
2. I think Alika by @simarcana might get along well with Victor and possibly even Silas, also Noah and Morgyn could possibly get along 🤔 I think they all share some similar energies
3. Taryn by @lazysunjade and Archee could get along possibly but it’s also possible it could be a mistake to put them together shdbd but I do think they could share some similar stories and have emo hours
4. I think Rei by @rollingsim and Annalise could get along, I feel like they both have a bit of good girl bad girl thing going?? Also feel like they would just rant about guys idk
5. It’s probably a huge mistake to put these two together but I think Izar by @crow-simblr and Archer would get along swimmingly and probably destroy a city
There’s for sure more and many others ocs who could get along with mine but I’ll stop there Ajdjd

Okay, okay, so, I'm rereading TCP and I need to rant so:
When Madoc kills Jude's parents? The three sisters have three different reactions to the situation. Vivi vows to hate Madoc and disobeys in an attempt to show what she feels. Taryn cries beside her mother and tries to wake her up which evidently portrays her methods a lot gentler than her other two sisters (and she is also tries the impossible or...common). And Jude has a more physical way of showing her pain and she channels her grief into anger and tries to hit Madoc.
The pet pillows Jude takes with her to elfhame? A koala, a snake and a black cat. She in the end has a husband whose love language is physical touches, who was turned into a snake and was fed by a black cat, almost thinking he himself was one.
She also says "I cannot bear to throw out any of my relics (her stuffed animals)" and later in wicked King she burns them and I think that shows how much of a development in a character she's had. (She gets a real life, three-in-one replacement instead)
Maybe not a big point but during the first revel we see Taryn and Jude attend there is a line where jude goes "Not bother with salt..." when Taryn picks up some food to eat. This could be interpreted that they are used to and have adapted to more of the fae traditions. As in, they know more about the faerie world than that of mortal and they have well adapted to the surrounding.
Same time, next point. "We pass [the apple] back and forth, sharing down to the core, which I eat in two bite". Not much of a point but this kind of shows how Jude leans more towards the weaponry and Madoc's specialities more than how to be "proper" during a revel. Unlike Taryn.
I'll add more when I read more...
The ballad they sing: “Of all the sons King William had, Prince Jamie was the worst...And what made the sorrow even greater, Prince Jamie was the first.” Jude says that she is not fond of this ballad because it reminds her of someone else insinuating Cardan but this is almost doesn't suit him but more Balekin. I feel like this is sort of a metaphor for her perspective of the faerie folk and the way it changes in the future.
Perhaps this is noted but the first time we see Cardan he wears a dress in the pattern of constellations and during Jude's coronation she wears dress of constellations too.

Jack Edward's ranked the cruel prince as one of the worst books he read and like ok I had an argument for this and I saw the video before ranting about Jurdan and everything Holly wrote was fascinating, only to be blown in the face with the fact that he is right and it's taking a lot of effort to admit this but Holly had a scattered narration in the first book and it was so hard to get into the book with so many characters mentioned I'd lil to no idea about how to differentiate between Taryn and Judge and what was happening and Locke and Dain, it was so fast paced and Jude-centric not that I'm complaining but it could have been better to get a perspective from other characters and a coordinated narration

rant!
ok so basically
my roommate told me that she and her summer bridge roommate are thinking about moving into a dorm together this semester, bc the summer roommate is having problems with her current roommate. now normally, i would be fine bc i think myself a nice person, however... this just brings up all my complaints that i had tried to keep quiet about
one, she is the one who insisted on bringing the fridge and microwave from her home so we wouldnt have to rent it (she'll be taking those with her and btw we're only allowed one fridge and microwave per room)
this really isn't a major complaint but she's a recent turned vegan and makes it seem like such a disability and that she's 'helping the world' by being vegan. i get it if it's a health thing or religious but just because you chose to not have the joy of real cheese doesn't mean you're oppressed bbg
adding on to the previous point, ig since she brought the fridge she thinks that she needs to use every. inch. of space of it. like this girl buys entire shelves of food from the store and gets confused when i say i couldn't fit my lunch for the next day in there. like yes, you did bring the fridge (bc you insisted) but these things are supposed to be 50/50 arrangments
she also takes up like 75% of the room. im glad i chose to loft my bed bc now my desk in under there and my drawers but if i hadn't, we would have a major problem. she brought what feels like her whole room plus a few items. i thought i had overpacked but guys, she has so much shit. her desk is covered in things bc she doesn't have a place to put them after already using most of the "shared" storage she brought (and told me not to worry about bc before move in i had expressed just normally fears of moving in)
she has a giant fucking scooter that takes up even more space, keep in mind our room isn't exactly the biggest. and i already have a vendetta againts people who ride bikes and scooters around campus. i do understand that it's easier and for some, a stressless way of getting to class, but when the sidewalk is packed with students walking and you push through on your bike or scooter i want to scream.
she's also like never in the room bc of being with her bf so im stuck in the room cleaning everything that SHE BROUGHT and when she is in the room, she makes offhanded comments about where i put my stuff (i keep everything i own in my little area, and yes sometimes it gets messy but i literally have no space)
and she never really uses all these things she brought??
this is just me lol but im super sensitive to smell and her food, when she makes microwave food, smells horrible and lingers. you might think im being dramatic but guys ive literally thrown up bc of the smell
this is weird: she firmly believes that catholics aren't christian? that led to me trying to explain the history behind abrahamic reglions and the different secs of christianity but she just brushed me off with a "i know an ex-catholic who said they're not christian"
has severe only child syndrome
now, if (probably when) she moves out, she'll be taking everything she brought with her
since she moved in before me bc of her summer program, idk how much space she truly takes up but ik that she's taking the fridge, the dehumidifier, the microwave, the 'shared' storage drawers, the filtered shower head (i bought the sink one), a lot of the cleaning supplies that she insisted on bringing bc she only uses 'sustainable' products, the big trash can that i said i would buy but when i was at the store she texted me and said she already bought one, and our 'shared' water filter
side note: she was always comparing me to her summer roommate, sometimes to the point that one of my friends had to tell her to stop bc i was visibly uncomfortable
and ik it sounds like i hate her and that im just being bitchy, but we are friendly it's just i don't think she's self-aware of a lot of things.
also, last thing: she makes being from texas her entire personality. i genuinely believe she doesn't know that texas is bigger than most european countries with how much she generalizes it's population
i lied, this is the last thing: she mentions a lot how "she's not like the basic girls" which irks me
ok 'rant' over! ik i sound like a bitch and im sorry but i wanted to get this all off my chest.
idk if anyone will have questions but if you do, i'll answer them lol

*slides into your ask box*
I have a thought for u:
Taryn and Roxy helping each other touch up the dye jobs on their hair while ranting about the shenanigans of their respective demon men.
Okay that's all, hope you have a good day 💜🫂
HA yesssss this is a great thought!! I can see it clearly - Roxy with a shower cap and dye on, working on Taryn's hair as Taryn vents about how fuckin difficult Inkubus is and how conflicted she is and so on. And Roxy's just like "fuckin felt dude. At least he likes you tho. Because I'm pretty sure my guy wants to fuck me and then kill me" and Taryn's just O_o
And maybe their cats get to meet too. Cat playdate (sleepdate) :D

May I just say a big thank you for your love of Taryn because I too really liked her when I read the books and I was sad at how many people disliked her: she is far too misunderstood by people and I could go off on one about the double standards people have for Taryn vs Jude (probably because Jude is our pov character and so when she plays a Faerie's game to survive, she's respected by the reader, but when Taryn does it - although differently to her sister - and is pushed away by Jude, the reader pushes her away)
Anyway, not the full rant because I don't want to fill up for askbox 😅
Oh you are totally welcome, my friends and I often go on rants about how irrational the amount of hate Taryn gets is. Everyone is allowed to dislike characters, but the way people misinterpret her instead of just saying "I dislike her" is incredible. Someone once accused me of "stanning a manipulative abuser". Like. She just lied and cheated just like every other character in that series it's Not That Serious lol

Hello my love!! I’m a little late, but I’m dying to know more about the Dance AU and/or Blue on Black for the WIP game please!! 💕
Taryn!!! aka @lostinfantasyworlds thanks for playing! I've gone for the Dance AU, because I have one! ask! left! that includes Blue on Black (which I'll tag you in) 🥰
Dance AU was born from a very sudden need to see the likes of Step Up adapted into IY fanfiction - 2000's teens will know this need. If you've never been privy to my "all Dance movies are the same" then lucky you, that's a rant for another day. This one has a pretty hefty outline, *some* writing and a whole lot of music packed into it, so I'll share a small chunk of the original outline and an even smaller snippet that I adore cause I think I'm funny 🤸‍♀️
The Premise:
Kagome is a ballet student.
Inuyasha is a hip-hop transfer.
Meet-Ugly: they run into each other on Inuyasha's first day and make bad first impressions.
The school is buzzing with news of a transfer student (It’s Inuyasha, gasp).
Kagome’s friend Sango (also ballet) is taking extracurriculars in hip-hop.
As Class President, Kagome is enlisted in helping to create a film about this year’s students – including but not limited to visiting many departments to film their activities.
There, she sees and finally meets the new transfer Inuyasha – who just so happens to be that guy she ran into the other day.
Spoilers end here - but it's plotted to the end chapter (so yay)
Snippet:
“Right. And what does a…contemporary dancer have that we don’t?” Hojo asked, a displeased curl tugging at his lips.
Inuyasha smiled, the brightest she’d ever seen, slapping a hand to his shoulder before answering, “Hips.”
Thank you so much for the ask, my love! 🥳💓

Jo Ampil (Grizabella) Taryn Donna (Cassandra) Katie Hutton (Rumpelteazer)
To be very, very clear -- my issues with makeup have absolutely *nothing* to do with these incredible and beautiful performers. It's purely with the design, nothing else.
I adore Katie Hutton and have since she landed in Seoul last month and proceeded to be THE most excited person EVER to be cast in Cats! Her enthusiasm and love is contagious and this makeup -- does her no justice. She deserves better. They all deserve better.
So much love to these extraordinary performers -- the stage makeup can't take away their enthusiasm and performance. I just wish they were getting the full look they deserve 😢
(I wrote this whole rant and completely neglected to link my source: picture from Joanna Ampil's instagram )
