[TAZ BALANCE SPOILERS!!!!!!!!] Okay okay this is probably the only post I'll make about Live! In Seattle until it comes out but I can't stop thinking about Joaquin and just. In my heart he came to Faerûn. I know realistically he's probably dead or lost in the void somewhere like everybody else but. In my heart he's alive...... My boy............

(also the nightgown is inspired from Justin's actual liveshow outfit, he wore THE sparkliest red shirt I've ever seen in my life and I adore it. Might edit my design for it later though lol)

German newspaper TAZ also has a review. I guess Ridley Scott will soon have to say something about the Germans, too...
Some excerpts:
Scott's Napoleon is an insecure dolt always playing his cards a little too high, but who, through fortunate circumstances, ultimately falls unstoppably upwards, driven by his dearly beloved mother and Joséphine de Beauharnais. [...] From a cinematic point of view, it's a rather mediocre presentation: The depiction of the battle resembles a woodcut, the commands in their lack of clarity would inevitably lead to chaos and the movements of the countless extras don't seem particularly co-ordinated either. [...] Napoleon is a rewarding subject, you just have to make up your mind. But that's exactly what Ridley Scott doesn't do. He is not particularly interested in either the politician or the general, but dutifully outlines a little of both. He devotes some screen time to the relationship between the Emperor and Joséphine de Beauharnais, without ever giving it any particular depth. [...] […] monumentality for monumentality's sake […] The biggest surprise is that Scott doesn't capitalise more on the scenes with Napoleon and Joséphine. If he had contrasted the deconstruction of Napoleon as a superman with a little more interest in the character of Joséphine, the result would have been a much more interesting film. [...]
Monumentality for monumentality's sake is exactly what I thought when I saw the first trailers. I don't want bombastic moving paintings - I want somebody to tell me a story!

i’m having a lot of feelings about joquin rn so let’s talk about him
joquin was always kind of an awkward kid - he was a nerd, didn’t have a whole lot of friends, living in his older brother’s shadow
and then the world ends, or it almost does, and suddenly joquin is a hero and suddenly everyone knows who he is and suddenly everyone wants to talk to him and suddenly he’s friends with an elf and it’s just a lot
and it’s too much, sometimes, being a hero. everyone has a lot of questions and wants to talk to him, but they don’t really want to talk to him, they want to talk to the dude who got magic powers out of nowhere and maybe saved the world a little bit.
after the food truck exploded, joaquin kind of figured that he would never see taako again. and then he got pulled through a magic portal and got to set a giant monster on fire, which was pretty cool, but that had to be the end of it, right? he had his moment of fun, his moment of fame, he got to talk to taako twice, and that was a pretty big deal.
and then one day he’s hanging out in the living room, just playing some video games, and taako is just there, grinning at him out of the mirror on the wall
things get better, after that. school is still too much sometimes, the people around him are still too much sometimes, but now he has someone to talk to who actually gets it. and things quiet down, eventually. his magic powers are gone, people stop talking to him so much, and joquin worries that taako is gonna stop talking to him too, but that never happens
(and maybe taako only talks to him so that he can rant about the dumb students at his school, but joaquin doesn’t really believe that that’s the only reason)
