I really am starting to believe that Dave Filoni just likes to read fanfiction. The plots of some of theses episodes be looking real familiar.

You know, I'm not a very aggressive person, nor do I condone violence, buuuuuuuut... I kinda, sorta, somehow, a little bit screamed "YES" at the top of my lungs when he pulled that trigger

The REAL FEAR on Crossshair’s face in this episode says everything. He’s never been shown to be so close to dying before. It’s all been existential to him but now it’s a certainty. Everything Hunter said- that he was being used and that he would be anything but a number- is coming to fruition. But he had to see it for himself, and through the eyes of a man who stuck it out until the bitter end. He saw himself in Mayday and that scared him more than anything else.

tbb s2 e12 and what it could mean for cody
okayyyy i have been sitting on this theory and i just need to get it out arrrghhhh. so, from s2 e3, i (and many others) originally concluded that cody intentionally defected and left the empire. this a conclusion of course based on the fact that it is said at the end of the episode that he went AWOL, and that the plot and his dialogue and actions clearly point towards that.
i still think that is what most likely happened, and that we’re probably gonna see him either at the end of season 2 or somewhere in s3, i doubt feloni (god fucking damnit dave always playing with my emotions)  would leave that thread alone. however, given the events of episode 12 i argggh. jsfjhfujdckdsvjre. i have a theory that MAN I HOPE IS NOT TRUE but would make so much sense and would make the plot so interesting.  so crosshair disobeyed orders and shot his superior and was taken to some medical facility associated with the empire’s efforts to take control of cloning and experiment and all that right?  and cody, well cody in episode 3 didn’t *exactly* disobey orders but did not immediately execute the order he was given by his superior, an order that was ultimately carried out by crosshair.  what if cody was taken to that facility. because he, like crosshair in ep12, stepped out of line.  AND WHAT THEN?????!! who knows man. so many things could happen. so many terrible things GOD, FUCKING DAMNIT DAVE anyyywayyyyys i want the best for cody i love this man please let this theory not be true

OKAY SO I CHECKED AND TBB S2 IS HAPPENING IN 19BBY!
Why am I yelling about that? I would love to tell you :)
The Republic was reformed into the Empire in 19BBY as well.
In the latest episode of TBB, Mayday tells us that he has been stationed on the outpost guarding these cargo crates for about a year. What's in those cargo crates? Armour for the TK-Troopers.
Why is that interesting? If Mayday and his squad have been guarding TK-Trooper armour for that long, that means the Emperor has been planing to phase out the clone troopers for at least that long as well. Most likely even longer, seeing as the armour also had to be made.
What I'm trying to say is that even if certain characters had made different choices (Lama Su regarding Kamino, the batch and Rex regarding Chuchis plan, etc. etc.) somehow things still would've ended up the way they are now, simply because the Emperor is so far ahead of them and keeps his cards incredibly close to his chest.
But imagine the depth of the betrayal that Mayday was feeling in that moment. He guarded this armour for a year, while continously requesting more gear for his men. Back when he still fought for the Republic and believed that there was a cause and a reason for all of this. But he was always supposed to be cast aside.
And I think this is what turned Crosshair around as well. That's how we went from "No point in carrying around dead weight." to him trekking through a snowstorm all night and huddling for warmth to save his brother. He realised that all these debates and arguments about whether or not the clones should be phased out are pure politics. He and his brothers were fated from the start. No amount of loyalty or competence could ever keep him safe in this system, because they already made up their mind about him. That's what he realised when he looked at that helmet.
in conclusion:
